Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Ah the long awaited, Crafting post….where I give you the how tos and break down each and every item available to craft, so you don’t miss a thing!
Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last couple of years that crafting is here to stay. While the prizes themselves are pretty self explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”. Crafting requires some self direction. You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly. Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.
Now I know some of you still have questions about what to craft, if you should craft or Level Up, what happens in future Acts…so, as we’ve done in the past, we’re here to break it all down for you. So let’s take a look at the basics of Crafting for the entire event.
As always we’ll start with the basics…
When Does Crafting Start?
Crafting unlocks after you’ve completed A Pagan Paradise Pt. 2 (where you tap Pagans in a friend’s town). At this point you’ll get a quest called Logging in. (Check out the Turbo Tappin’ walkthrough if you’re stuck) This will unlock the…
Lumber Mill- Free, 8×8 in size.
Once you’ve built the Lumber Mill you’ll be able to start crafting, provided you have enough crafting currency to craft the desired item.
How Do I Access the Crafting Menu?
Just like every other event the Crafting Menu is accessible via the Event Hub.
The Trophy with the antlers for sides is your event hub. Click on it and you’ll access your event hub for this event.
From there you want to find the crafting Icon, fourth one down on the left, that looks like this:
Tap on it and that’ll bring up your Crafting Menu (Also known as the Lumber Mill):
You can also access your Crafting Menu (the quick way) by tapping on your Lumber Mill in Springfield…
When Does Crafting End?
Crafting is available for the ENTIRE event. You read that right…the ENTIRE event. So you have until December 30th to craft everything!
Plenty of time…so take your time.
What Is the Crafting Currency?
So it’s 1 crafting currency for the ENTIRE Event.
The crafting currency for the event is Runestones:
How Do I Earn Crafting Currency?
So as many of you have pointed out…Runestones are not exactly plentiful in this event. But keep in mind Crafting is for the ENTIRE event…so there’s no rush to craft or level up. Build up as many Runestones as you can and then craft/level up at your pace.
Here are are the ways you can earn Runestones in this event:
-Tapping Pagans in Springfield (Act 1). Each Pagan you Tap will yield 2 Runestones
-Prize Track, for Act 1 there are two Runestone Prizes. One yielding 100 stones and the other 250 stones.
-Daily Offerings at Springhenge. Just about every day, except for every 4th day, Springhenge will award you 100 Runestones for completing 4 offering trade ins.
It’ll be a grind for this event…but keep at it they’ll continually build up.
What’s the Deal With the Crafting Levels? What do They Do? And Should I Level Up or Craft?!
So with this update, similar to past updates, there are Levels for crafting. Unlocking each level will unlock a new item to Craft.
Leveling up will cost you Runestones
. And once again they’ve decided to stick with what’s worked in the two most recent events, you do NOT have to choose between Leveling up and Crafting. The Runestones you spend to Craft items will count towards the Runestones needed to Level up!
What does this mean? Well basically if it costs 300
to move up to the next level, and you want to craft Carnival Banners (which cost 120
each)..you don’t have to decide between Leveling up and Crafting. Simply craft the Carnival Banners and 120
will be deducted from the 300
required to Level Up.
So you DO NOT have to decide between Leveling Up and Crafting, because you’ll Level Up WHILE you Craft!
So How Many Levels Are There? How Many
Does It Cost to Level Up?
Currently there are 10 Levels. Here’s a cost chart:
You start at Level 1, so that’s not included here
Some of you are confused with this chart. This chart shows the cost to LEVEL UP, not the cost to purchase the items. The item cost is in the breakdown below…NOT in this chart
| To Reach Level | Cost | Unlocks |
| 2 | 300 |
Large Mushrooms Chicken Coop |
| 3 | 400 |
Goat Head Statue Hay Cart |
| 4 | 520 |
Large Pagan Tent Pagan Cauldron |
| 5 | 800 |
Carnival Banner 2 Phone-Henge Kiosk |
| 6 | 900 |
Giant Mushrooms Brazier |
| 7 | 1,150 |
Two-Story Outhouse Pagan Hall |
| 8 | 1,200 |
Carnial Banner 3 Windmill |
| 9 | 1,300 |
Fur is Murder Tree Medieval tent |
| 10 | 1,650 |
Dunk the Monk |
And no, unfortunately it’s not a running total. You’ll need 8,220
to level up completely. So craft wisely my friends.
So now that we know HOW to craft let’s talk about what you can craft and the items details for each…starting with Level 1..
You’ll be able to earn event currency when placing these craftable items. For Act 1 that currency is Antlers. Quantities of Antlers earned for Act 1 are indicated in the breakdowns.

My Personal Opinion on Craftables…
Don’t kill yourself. Most of this stuff is just decorations and really unimpressive. Craft what you like/think you can use in your town…but really nothing is worth kill yourself over.
Best item? It’ll vary depending on your opinion of things. Dunk the Monk is funny to me, and I like Phone Henge as a kiosk for Springfield Heights. Beyond that Fir is Murder Christmas Tree is probably the only other thing I’ll want to craft. Everything else is just random filler/decorations. So grab what you like and pass on when you don’t.
So again…don’t kill yourself trying to get all this stuff. Sometimes less is more. Craft what you have use for in Springfield….
Hope that helps some of you who have been stressing out over crafting!
And there you have it my friends…the details behind Winter 2016 Crafting!
What are your thoughts on crafting for the Winter Crafting List? Which items are you digging? Which would you pass on? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I am not really excited about this episode. I have been playing for over 3 years can’t find the nomes in friends towns. 😬
Ola,não consigo achar meu gnomo.Da uma mensagem que ele esta solto na cidade mas não o encontro.
Carrega no “radar” no canto superior direito do ecra e deves conseguir encontra-lo.
I don’t really feel the need for multiples of the tents or banners. Since I have the clash of clones stuff from crafting a lot during that event, all of my “filler” crafting has been mushrooms. And a lot of them have ended up near Woodstock for some reason.
Just unlocked the brazier, though, so that’s another new and somewhat useful thing I can craft in order to level up. (And also, bigger mushrooms! By the time this is over, I’ll have a veritable Wonderland of mushrooms.)
Maybe I’m wrong and the tents and banners will come in really handy, but right now the use I have for them is filling out my renaissance festival area, and I can’t think of what else they’d be useful for. Please, share if you have any ideas. (But in the meantime, I’m all about those shrooms. I wish there were more colors, like the pink ones around the elf home, or the red and yellow ones I know from Mario. Or the brownish grayish ones I eat for dinner.)
I use the mushrooms to make a fence
Thank you for the info as always 😉
Hi all- loving my first Christmas with you guys- ( i started with the casino event in march this year and am truly addicted .
The dialogue is hilarious as usual and currently watching The Simpsons parading around the pole and smiling to myself……but not having hurt ribs like the first time I saw Homer go down springfield falls.
Just a query, I always panic thinking I will not complete the prize quests but then think hey visit neighbours like I normally do and get more crafting stuff, I have been diligently visiting neighbours as usual but today (tues in UK) was the first time when I clicked a pagan I got crafting currency….question is, should this have been happening from the start???
next quest for me is the phone kiosk and Mr Burns and the Parson looks so very far away- not sure I will get there in 4 days remaining 🙁 but shall plug away and appreciate now getting additional pagan craft items by my usual daily visiting of neighbours.
Happy tapping you luvverly people x
So, let me see if I have this right. Crafting continues with the same crafting currency/levels/menu of items for the whole event. If you craft items and place them during this act, you get an antler/event currency bonus. which appears to not be capped. We could then also assume if you craft/place during the next act, you’ll get THAT event currency as a bonus, correct? So it would seem that the smart money is on saving your crafting for the end of this act – to make sure you get all the Act 1 prizes – but then hoarding the rest of your crafting currency for the next act – to get a jump on the Act 2 prizes. [The mystery remaining is: what happens if you craft something this act, store it, and then place it next act? I would think Act 2 currency, but might as well not craft it yet, just in case.]
Good logic, can give you an advantage starting the next act. The flip side is bonuts for antlers after you have the Parson in this act. Just have to decide which you want more. I didn’t have any trouble getting all the prizes in this act, so for me it’s “bring on the bonuts”!
Just a “taser” reminder… antlers go away in Act II.
Hi, Alyssa. You may want to update the post, because at some point in the recent past, the windmills were updated to give a .75% bonus to money and XP. I pulled my two left over from the clash of clones event out of storage when I read that.
I agree that most of the other craftables are meh for this event so I’m going to concentrate on the windmills. Kind of like the Halloween 2015 event when a lot of us spent our time crafting tons of the wailing walls. 🙂
Unfortunately, the bonuses only apply to the OLD inventory, not the new re-purposed ones. I believe that is what Alissa was referring to.
All they want are wooden figurines. I’m overflowing with catnip. Anyone else having this problem?
Same problem here!
I am short on catnip and overflowing with wooden carvings, but catnip is what it wants. Funny right?
Have the same problem except more wooden figurines then catnip
I was wondering if the calendar for Act 1 will be out soon. I am concern I am not getting all the antlers I should be getting. Usually with other acts I am done collect “Antlers” as early as 4 days, yet I am stilling trying to collect antlers for Cult Flying saucer and The Parson. I believe I am following behind because of Springfield Henge? Is that possible?
It’s been out for almost a week now…
http://tstoaddicts.com/2016/12/07/winter-xmas-2016-calendar-act-one/
Make sure to turn in for antlers even after the four required for the daily gift.
OMG, that is what I am doing wrong. I am limiting myself to 4 daily. Let me start getting the rest of the antlers. Thank you Alissa, I think I am barely going to make it in this act.
Does the gnome finder disappear after level 7? Now it says he’s roaming freely but I can’t find him lol
Go to Krustyland and bacm
I went to Krustyland and back and my elf has reverted back to level 1, and I also received an extra ice statue and two extra antler rental places :/
thank you! That fixed it!
I’m crafting one of each. I really didn’t want to fill my town with a whole bunch of decorations. I’ve been using the rest of the runes to level up the mill
“What Does it Do: Always animated, as steam billows from the cauldron”
You should also indicate what happens when it’s tapped on.
I like the tapped animation. My friend put hers in front of the chicken coops. 🙂
I just got New God Burns,do you think I can still get The Parson?
And little info the cauldron is animated when tapped, cow skull will appear.
Not been able to get into my game for 4 hours now, says cannot connect to server…retry…but wont let me in…anyone else having this problem?
Me too! Is there a server issue going on? Cache has been cleared, all the usual tricks…
If you are on WiFi try rebooting your modem and router.
I’m wondering…
Will antlers play a major role in crafting for Act 2 or will they be replaced? If they’re going to remain, once we have all the Act 2 main prizes, should we only do the minimum number of Springfield henge exchanges to achieve the daily exchange bonus prize? Or, if they do NOT remain then I guess we should consistently exchange as much as we possibly can at Springfield henge?
antlers will be replaced
So, crunch all the antlers we want…they’ll be of no use (actually…gone!) come act 2?
Correct. We go to another master currency for the main Prize Wheel.
Oh please please please…don’t use the term “wheel”?
Still very painful to soooooooo many of us ;(
Antlers will be replaced, but will catnip and stones (or whatever those things are called they’re making over at Willie’s shack)? Because, if not, it might still make sense not to craft more than what’s necessary to get the four trades, if the catnip and whatchamacallit can be traded in for the event currency that will replace antlers, no?
(Not stones or whatchamacallits…wooden figurines are what I meant.)
I answered this in the question corner post…
http://tstoaddicts.com/2016/12/09/addicts-question-corner-winter-2016-act-1-gnome-issues-singing-stones-clues-for-whats-next-wtf-is-going-on-around-here-and-more/
Yes, I read that… You said you weren’t sure. My hunch is that they will continue, because, when we had the four-building thing during the casino event, that’s how it worked. I realize that’s no guarantee, but, for now, I’m going with that assumption and will stockpile catnip and figurines other than what I need for the daily task, I think. I got the parson this morning, so I should still manage to squeeze in at least one or two bonut rounds anyway.
Also, after you get the Parson, the antlers can be turned in for bonuts…so keep turning them in.
I like the cauldron animation with laughter and mushrooms for fairy rings. Really want to see the Simpsons dancing in their pagan skins. Is it worth it?
That is completely subjective. If you like the idea, and have the donuts, go for it.
Or if you’re morally repulsed by the cauldron and animation… then this is one to stay away from???
Genuine question:- for what reason could someone could be “morally repulsed” by an animated cauldron in the game?
Is it not just a rehash of the chilli cook off cauldron and similar to ‘Witch Marge’s’ and probably countless others that have been recycled?
ARGH… I can’t find the post to which you are referencing. But, can we PLEASE just understand that there are about a million different ways to look at this update through the purview of faith lenses. I agree that this is a rehash…but the vernacular attached is offending some people. Let it go. Agree to disagree. We are tired/bored with moderating the same argument in myriad different forms……..
Sorry Patric, it was a genuine question, not attempting to stir a Pagan-Christian-Muslim-EAtheist (see what I did there) uproar.
I think The Doors nailed it with their song, ‘People are Strange’
Sorry, shouldn’t have used it…was trying to bring it from a humorous side with so much tension involved in the event. It surely wasn’t taken that way 🙁
Quick question, if I may. I see talk of the babysitter bandit returning, but she’s not on my list of things to buy. Is she due in act two or have I missed something?
Much obliged 🙂
The characters come and go in staggered fits. So just keep watching your store.
Ta muchly
Terrible prizes. Got the New God skin for Burns so now I’m done with this chapter. Maybe next segment will be better.
What???? You don’t want the P-P-Parson? You may regret that…he has a golf cart.
Ba..ba…ba..booooo….I keep waiting for him to break into White Christmas! We also need the vessel with the pestle for the brew that is true…
Am I the only one having difficulty finding Pagans? Even though my town is suppose to be full? Second hand, am I the only 1 having 0 catnip but 2000+ of the other thing?
On your task menu you should have an Antler, many times that little hand points to it… anyway tap the Antler and it should take you right to a Pagan. One pagan at a time until you got them all. And for me, yes, catnip seems to be spent the quickest for me.
That’s interesting, I have just the opposite problem. Too much catnip and not enough figures. I took to paying for the exchanges that had higher amounts of the item I had in excess (catnip in this case). It seems to have finally levelled out after about 2-3 days of doing this. I would also cancel the high single item exchange in hopes of getting the other in an exchange at a higher value as well.
To find pagans if you tap on whatever your current antler earning task is on the task bar for the prize track and tap the do it button next to it, it should take you to a pagan in your town if you have any left.
In your Springfield, you can find Pagans by clicking on the antler icon in your quests. As you need to finish this quest by getting antlers, clicking on “Do it” will find Pagans in your Springfield.
Regarding the catnips… I have tons of catnips but almost no carved figurine :/
I’m the opposite, with 2000+ catnip and no figurines. Is anyone finding they are getting through both in even quantities. Is there a strategy to getting an even spend?
I have 1000 catnip and 0 of carved heads…
So, this time there’s no cap? If I craft 20 banners, all of them will give me Antlers?
From what I can tell no. I crafted a bunch and nothing capped out.
Thanks!
Great post!
Cauldron has an animation when tapped – a stag head of steam comes out
I like the mushrooms – another set of plants to go in the farming district.
The braziers are also worth crafting – fits with the Stonecutter theme and looks good lining the walkway up to the building.
another shipwreck or just a cut and paste typo?? Im running out of water
Typo…
Hi Alissa,
Thank-you for all the hard work you put into this blog. I really appreciate all the information you post.
I had scoured some of the postings in search of what the spawn rate of the pagans are. Even tried using the wonderful search widget, but I must keep missing it. Do you happen to know this rate off hand? THX!
I didn’t post it, which is why you haven’t see a post on it. 15 land, 15 bank, every 10 minutes.
Awesome to know. Thanks so much Alissa!
Hi, thanks for the post, slight typo towards the end you mention earning the shipwreck! (no one needs another one of those!:0)
Shipwreck…? Copy/paste typo, I presume? 🙂
Why I so my elf finder not working in my town but in my friends town? Is this a glitch?
http://tstoaddicts.com/2016/12/09/addicts-question-corner-winter-2016-act-1-gnome-issues-singing-stones-clues-for-whats-next-wtf-is-going-on-around-here-and-more/
I am having the same problem!
The Pagan Cauldron has an additional animation when tapped. The steam forms into a deer skull momentarily.
I am disappointed in the last few events. A lot of the stuff for crafting just simply isn’t worth the effort in my opinion.
I can’t get into my game for some reason on my Android phone, I used to be able to…now though when I try to enter my game, it’s like the screen goes black like it’s turning my phone off or something. Is there any way that I can get this fixed so I can play the event?
This briefly happened to me but I got rid of some apps I never used and cleaned my phone out and it worked. It will be a device error and not a game error. If you have another device then try getting into your account with that
I have, I also have an iphone and ipad, those will let me go in the game…but for some reason, the game stops after a few minutes
My game will go black when starting. This is usually when my house farms are ready for collection. I need to wait a few seconds for the black screen to go away. So i think it is a device resource issue.
