Only 1 week until Christmas (and less than that until the start of Hanukkah)!!!! Have you finished your shopping yet?!
How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? I’ve finished my shopping, and almost all the wrapping (still waiting on a handful of items to come in). Today we’re planning on making Christmas cookies and watching the best Christmas Movie (or any movie really), It’s a Wonderful Life. (I should note that yesterday we also watched Christmas Vacation (classic) and the Veggie Tales version of It’s a Wonderful Life, Riley enjoy the dancing veggies 😉 )

I have noticed in many of my neighbor’s towns, some at lower levels than me, that they have a decoration that I have never seen available, either free, or where you have to pay initially (like the cobblestone road). It is the bridge over the river. How do you get this decoration, or is it no longer available? Will it come back if it is gone?
Hey! You just need to first have the river, then drag a road over it, it will make a bridge automatically 🙂

Normal bridges are created by building a road over water… So you just put down water tiles first, then add road tiles on top. It adds walls and little lights to the water side(s) of the road. You can have a road that has water on one side if you wish, but you may have to build water tiles underneath the road. Is that what you mean?
just make a river and put the road over it. It will turn into the bridge automatically
Place a river, and then place a road on top of it. Voila, a bridge 🙂

Hi all! Hope your winter events are going smoothly! I’ve been a casual player for years now and I must say, I’ve not seen so many glitches in a long time (if ever)! Maggie doesn’t make noise when playing her mini game, the whole gnome business, the Act 1/2 transition… Is anyone else noticing this?
But it’s all worth it if I can make to the Starsuit!!!!!
I have $50 in my iTunes account to support this event with, but I’ll be annoyed if I buy donuts now and in a week or two we get a donut sale like we did last year. Guess I should wait a bit.

Love this game…love this blog! My question is this…when are they going to add more crops to Cletus’s farm! Being from Massachusetts, I have a great idea for an add, lol! Seriously though, I’m surprised they haven’t added pointsettias as a “seasonal” crop! 🎄

My son just noticed something that I didn’t. The tower out in the water doesn’t have the monster on it anymore. No mater how many times you tap it the water just shoots up and then nothing. Is this a glitch or how long ago did this change?

Hey everyone, Happy Holidays to all! I’m really enjoying this event so far but that’s probably because I love the holidays and baking and all the fun buildings for the game! I went ahead and purchased Winter and his Cave. Even though the bonus for cash and XP wasn’t that great, the premium character with an almost 50% donut rebate is usually worth it every time. I’ve found his actions to be quite amusing this far and look forward to seeing them all. Also, quick question, anyone have any “must have” suggestions. I’ve been saving up donuts for quite some time and have a plethora to spend. Wasn’t sure if there were any holiday related items that people have that they practically could have a Springfield without!! Thanks!!

Non TSTO: been sick off and on for two weeks now. Little one and hubby are sick too. First we had a version of gastroenteritis and now we’ve got some less than fun cold or something. Could always be worse though. My son has been having us watch his favorite movie Monsters versus Aliens on repeat. He has an obsession with Bob. At least it’s a good movie so I haven’t lost my mind yet 😉
I’m almost all done for Christmas and Hanukkah wrapping. I purchase most items during post Christmas sales and store for the year so makes it pretty easy. The process took only 3 hours this year a new personal record. I only have four gifts left that needed purchase closer to the season. Thank gosh I’m almost done bc we had an ice/snow storm here and it is -5. No way I’m going out.
TSTO: finally making progress on my remodel. Purchased the top half of the final strip of land on that connects to the mountains. On my game the mountains end after one more section of land that has not been added yet. I’m assuming this is just an oversight that they will fix before releasing more land. Got the last prize from the last section and one round of bonuts after struggling to keep up on the track.

Sorry you’re not feeling well. I’ve had a terrible cold for two weeks now and it’s still not gone. Hopefully, by Christmas. My 7 yr old is obsessed with Monsters vs Aliens and watches it constantly. I especially enjoy when she jumps around from scene to scene and back again… 🙂

i noticed that i can’t find my Ralph elf costume. I contacted EA but nothing yet. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and nothing. I have the North Pole sign and workshop and Santa village but no elf Ralph. anyone else having this problem.
I have this problem too! I only have the North Pole sign and Toy Workshop and wondered if the skin came with Santas Workshop but didn’t want to buy it if the Ralph Skin didn’t come with it! At least I’m not the only one with the issue :/
All itens are from winter 2014 event:
– Toy Workshop was free (2.000 $) .
– North Pole sign was the first prize act 2, easy to get
– Little Helper Ralph (Ralph elf costume) was 6th prize, harder to get.
So not had the best weekend really. Still feeling unwell after more than a week and today we lost one of our cats unexpectedly. Bless him, we rushed him to the vets around 7am (UK time) and discovered he had a tumour that had ruptured his spleen. We decided very quickly that we would put him to sleep but he didn’t last long enough for that to happen and died before we could even sign the consent forms. There were no outward signs other than he’d been a little off colour for a few days so no way of telling. So now we’re missing our very gorgeous Meatball who was just the biggest and fluffiest cat we had ever owned.
I’ve not really felt like playing TSTO today but I should be ok to keep up because I started later than this at the start of act 1. Not convinced by some of the prizes but quite liking the end prize for Maggie.
So sorry about your kitty, we lost a grey fluffy to cancer this year under almost the same circumstances…no chance to save him. They become part of the family and can leave a hole in your life, for sure. Hope this won’t keep your family from having a wonderful Christmas…Best Wishes.
Thanks and sorry to hear about your cat. The vet had lost his cat under similar circumstances last year too. He said that even he couldn’t tell and he is a qualified vet, which is some comfort really. We have 5 other cats to comfort us but they all seem to have noticed he has gone. It was pretty hard this morning as I was the one brave enough to say goodbye and give him kisses on behalf of us all after he had passed. I’m going home to my parents so will be away from the cats anyway this year which might make it somewhat easier. It will be harder for my housemate I think as she will be with them all through Christmas.
So sorry for your loss. Our furry ones are definitely family members and loosing them is difficult. We lost one of our boys unexpectedly, in April, due to a Saddleback Thrombosis.
I am very sorry for your loss…I lost my little furball around this time last year.
❤️🐱 Sending hugs from across the globe, losing a furry friend is just awful. I know how you’re feeling, a few years ago we had to put down our big, fat, fluffy and gorgeous cat, DeeDee because she had a brain tumor. I’m sure you gave your Meatball all the love and the best life a cat could ask for. Feel better soon and keep Meatball in your heart.

He was 10 1/2 and one of our four related cats. He’s left behind a twin sister, an ‘aunt’ and his ‘grandmother’.
I hope he has led a good life.
I’m so sorry Nessy. I’ve loved and lost 4 cats (and a dog) in my life, including one we had to have put to sleep at only 6 months old. Just this past Thursday, my sweet 5 yr old calico had surgery to remove a lump from her tail – we don’t know yet if it was cancerous. They are part of the family, and we love them with all our hearts. Hugs to you.

I wish they would bring back Frink Points. It was a fun aspect that was simple for them to do.
I also miss level updates but I know those are done. Just wish there was something else simple like them, rather than the mini-events. TSTO needs a new format to an event to spice it up.
I think new friend prizes would be cool too, even if they were small decorations. After you get all of them it does make it a little harder to visit your friends. It would give you some incentive.

Happy Sunday everybody…hope your day is restful and spent with the ones you care about. Heading to Florida tomorrow to spend a week or so with my folks…no gifts this year, we all decided to donate to our favorite charities instead. Keeps the craziness out of it and is more in the spirit of Christmas for us (no kids…all of us are grown).
Anyway, will bake cookies (Hi 🐱 Kitty), go out to the beach and putter around for a nice relaxing week…looking forward to lots of greenery and warmer weather. Of course, the Pad will go with me…tapping is an imperative. Off to pack…Hi Ho, Hi Ho…It’s off to Florida I go….
Hi ebron — what a nice idea for Christmas gifts! We have younger kids in our family, but I often donate to a nonprofit in my parents honor as their gift. We adults don’t really need more material goods anyway. Enjoy your time in Florida! We are similarly enjoying the beach and some warm weather in Hawaii — except that it’s raining right now and kind of cold, at least for Hawaii. It’s supposed to clear up later today, but we’ll see. I make Spritz cookies with the cookie gun every year…everybody gets to put sprinkles on them…and also pecan shortbread snowballs. I may make brownie trees, if I still have the energy (baked in a round cake pan, cut in wedges and decorated like Christmas trees🎄). My sister is bringing a pineapple macadamia fruitcake soaked in Myers Rum, so we will all be pigging out this week!

Good morning addicts, suffering from cabin fever here as my work is extremely slow in the winter. Fortunately I have a party to go to with the kiddos this evening. Anyone get the MARIO jump game for their phone? Trying to decide if 10 bucks is worth the buy, only able to play 3 boards isn’t really enough for me to decide. Maybe I’ll stick to playing the old school ones on my Super Nintendo, glad I never got rid of that btw.. well, off to do some laundry and clean a little so I can come home to a tidy house at least. Donkey Kong Country was one of the greatest games ever rendered. When I’m out in a driving snow storm where you can see the flakes going sideways, I always think of that game. Street fighter 2 was awesome also.

Yeah, me too. I saw Alissa’s message that said we should use it up. However, with my upcoming trip, I thought it wise to save nearly 3,000 of them on the off chance that they did carry over. Not sure if I’ll be able to get all the prizes while on vacation. Oh well. Will have to work extra hard next 7 days.

According to my phone the temperature peaked at 35° C today while my splash pool was 26°… Needless to say I’m sure you can guess how I spent most of my day! Did manage to water some plants – we have had very little rain so everything is very, very thirsty. I’m also on leave for about 3 weeks so wasn’t in any rush to get things done this weekend but will have lots to do just keeping things neat because even my ‘wild’ garden is looking a little too wild! Glad things are growing well but do they have to grow so well? 😃 During the week I did try some air layering of a River Indigo as well as a Ficus and so far it seems to going ok – the branches are still alive so feeling positive. For now! And now, even though I’ve just got out of the pool, it is time for a bath!

Hi neighbor! I’m looking forward to exploring your SF! So glad we are neighbors now! Your garden, “wild” as it may be, sounds beautiful. Ficuses are notoriously finicky and drop leaves when transplanted, and so it sounds like you are doing well with it. As long as you have some green leaves left on a recently planted ficus, there is hope! We have a vacation condo in Hawaii, and after eating a particularly delicious pineapple from our favorite pineapple farm, my husband decided to take the top of it and plant it in a hidden spot in the landscaping (shh! Don’t tell anyone!) I guess you can take the top of a pineapple with the leaves, plant it, and grow a new plant. Fast forward eight months, and it seems to have taken. However, he’s not sure that the roots are growing enough. I think maybe it’s because pineapple plants are bromeliads, and there root structure is different from other types of plants. We’ll see!

Reading this site most times is more fun then playing the game!
I totally agree that our dear moderators should get the day off, but I wonder if they’d be willing to give temporary accesses to someone who doesn’t celebrate Christmas (like me, this year) to do it for them. I think there are some folks who, because of their family-and-IRL-friends situation, find the holidays difficult and may want to have the opportunity to commune with folks here *especially* on Christmas. I’m happy to volunteer for that duty from, say, 11:00am to 10:00pm ET.

And we appreciate that! I just feel bad that you should have to do that, instead of devoting all of your time and attention to celebrating Christmas Day with your family, etc.

It was a glitch when the monorail tunnels first came out. I don’t think it works anymore but as far I as I can remember you placed both tunnels next to each other and then stored one and it left a gap in your mountains.

Zombie Sandwich. It was offered last Halloween.
They are using the Zombie Sandwich to turn characters into Zombies for an hour. Was available during THOH 2016.

I like the Gnome visit leaderboard. While I am quite low on my leaderboard (in the 80’s); I do have three neighbours who are still at 0. I think enough time has elapsed that I can consider dropping them. What are your thoughts? Has anybody dropped neighbours who haven’t caught a gnome?
Some neighbors are not playing this update in protest of not Christmas. It’s up to you if you want to drop them. You can check how long ago they last played and if it was way before the Act 1 update, I’d say they have left the building.
Some people have opted out of this event for personal reasons. I also have some neighbors who aren’t participating…I’m waiting till after the event ends to see if they rejoin the activities in January.

Secondly. ..I would wait on those neighbours till the next event. What with gnome glitches and other upsets plus a sooper dooper busy time of year for most.

Some people are boycotting this Pagan Event.
And for me, I usually give people at least 4 weeks, usually 6 weeks before dropping – life happens outside this game.
Really, it DOES.
I have the same but I checked to see when they last played and they are all still active. Seems like they’ve just decided to pass on this event. I normally give people 2-3 weeks before dropping them.
