Just a reminder that the Winter Event Ends TOMORROW December 30th at 0800 GMT (3am EST)
This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.
As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.
Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…
- Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 2 Acts.
- However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won will remain. (so Ravencrow, Snowsuit Maggie etc)
- The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game. So don’t panic when 0800 GMT hits and the event isn’t out of your game… It will require an app store update to remove everything. Usually those hit around 1-2pm (EDT)
I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so… just know that ANY time after the 30th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after the 30th and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.
So tap those last few Pagans and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

I’ve traded in vouchers for two prizes. I won’t have enough vouchers for any more, but I have doughnuts to spare. Should I spend the doughnuts for more voucher prizes? I would like to get Costingtons, but there are two other possible prizes (north pole station and Yes guy) still available in my platinum list. Is spending 100 doughnuts worth the risk that I won’t get Costingtons?
I’m in a similar place, I had 5 things on offer in platinum and wanted two of them (sophie and costingstons), I actually managed to get two presents – first gave me north pole station, second bear cave… So I have costingtons, sophie and slide factory still available. Somehow I have a feeling that if I bought a presents, I would get the damned factory…
With the event coming to a close, I didn’t want to risk losing out at a chance for Costingtins. I didn’t have enough vouchers to make a try for it, but I have plenty of doughnuts to play with. As it happened, I needed to spend 90 doughnuts to make up the difference in my voucher shortfall. There were three items in my platinum box, and I would have been happy with two of the three. The three items were: North Pole station, Yes man, and Costingtons. I thought my odds were good, so I spent the 90 doughnuts and got…………Costingtons!!!!!! 😎🤑🍾🥇🎯🎰🎉. I’m so happy I took the chance.
So I was able to get the Springfield skating rink, Sophie, and Costingtons. Things could hardly have gone better.
I like the surprise gifts but… I wish I could’ve gotten the mall and costingtons for donuts … not use donuts for a chance at one of the items 🙁
Have a couple thousand crafting currency left and nothing of value to buy. Not even farming material. Going to store most of the crafted stuff. Got several rounds of bonuts and a level 15 elf so I was somewhat successful. Got the Murderhorn on discount on got costingtons on my first try so I can’t complain.
How I wish I could craft something with % income boost. Halloween 2015 was such a happy time. Crafted a bazillion wailing walls.
I’ve been crafting everything that earns currency on placement. Placing them then storing. It all contributes to bonuts.

I fully agree with Sandra, 4 weeks was perfect! While I enjoyed the event, I’m glad it’s just about over. I’m just going to collect this last round of bonuts and the day 12 prize, then send everyone to the rail yard. I’ll continue to collect tickets, though, so I can use less donuts to purchase Mr. Plow tonight!
Maggie’s 4 hour task….OMG. Its so wrong but I love it. I know, I know. I don’t believe in animal sacrifice. Or any kind of violence against animals. It’s just so controversial it makes me laugh. Bold move, EA. Bold move.
Just a thought… last year the Xmas event was only about four weeks too. Then we got the Maggie as Act 3….
But I can’t remember if that Act 3 was referred to in the game (i.e. were we able to see it existed as part of the game or did everything related to it appear at the end of the Xmas weeks)
I bring this up based on having the new ‘Homer the Heretic’ character group. Seems like an event type situation, where there might be a character skin and two new characters. Maggie brought three other playable characters with her…
‘Homer the Heritic’ will be a seperate mini-event starting 3rd of January. There was always 3 acts last Winter – people knew we were getting Maggie, it wasn’t a surprise act
Does anyone know if the ‘Yes Guy’ will be available again to purchase after this event or not, as he used to not be available all the time, but then he was? Does that make sense? Everything else available with these gift boxes were not available all the time, but he was. Not sure if that’s going to change after this event or not? thanks

I thought this was a really good, enjoyable event! First of all, I loved the length…I hope they make all future major events 4 weeks, instead of 6….first time in ages I didn’t feel like I was slogging through molasses for a couple of weeks at the end just dying for the event to end already! (Although, I must admit that I’m pretty much ready now, which is fine, since it’s the last real day of it.)
I was really happy to have something different than the usual Christmas thing….that’s been done to death in this game and pretty much all of the iconic Christmas stuff had already been offered in previous Christmas events, so, if they had done a Christmas event, instead of a Winter event, people would have complained about not getting enough new content (although maybe not quite as vehemently as some people complained about the pagan theme….my guess is that the quantity of complaints would actually have been larger, but the decibel level would have been lower).
I wish there had been some better craftables (although I did like some of them), but I liked that they all earned brooches, rather than just the first x amount, like in the previous event….much less confusing that way.
The dialog and animations were fun and even that creepy little gnome grew on me a bit, especially once he started bringing me vouchers.
The biggest change I would have liked would have been to be able to select what you traded your vouchers in for, instead of making it random among the things you didn’t already have. But I guess this way they made it more likely that people would end up spending donuts to get the prize they really wanted but didn’t win. I just feel bad, though, that I won the station, which I didn’t want and which will end up sitting in my inventory, when so many people wanted that prize most of all and didn’t get it.
Act 2 was insanely easy to complete, which was a nice “gift” for folks who wanted to be able to take some time off from the game to celebrate the holidays, etc., and yielded tons of bonuts for those who kept playing. But I do have a huge list of questline in my task book to complete, once the event ends and I don’t need my characters to be earning event currency. So, I hope we’ll get a little break between events during which to play catchup!

I love your comments. They’re so well thought out. I wholeheartedly agree with you. I earned everything days ago but have been tapping away for those vouchers. I so wish we could choose what we could trade them in for. I think EA has really nailed down a nice flow for events with the addition of the craftables earning event currency. That has been a much appreciated addition.
I can’t figure out how I finished so far ahead with Maggie’s snowsuit and still have not got to Level 15 of the Gnome Box or finished the last item to craft? I doubt I’ll finish the gnome box.

I wouldn’t worry about that….there isn’t much to be gained by reaching Level 15, other than a small reward and more currency when you play the gnome game. Definitely nothing to stress over!

I did manage to get to level 15 the other day. But, in my opinion the Gnome in the Home was rather disappointing for me. You get to level 15 and the bag of Guilt dust drops down to 47 then vanishes then you get 50 gift certificates, 60 books and 60 Chicken fingers. It don’t really make any major increases in getting prizes from the gift certificates since you only get 50 every 4 hours. So I wouldn’t worry about leveling up or achieving level 15 before the time runs out. don’t lose sleep because you didn’t get to level 15, with really no reward.
The Pagans will still give you Guilt Dust even though you can’t use it anymore. Another pointless part of the Gnome segment.
All the other actions in the event were just fine and a nice balance to craft items and get the event prizes.
I’m in the same boat. I think what happened was that we got to trade in resources for brooches. The resources were earned easily enough by sending characters on jobs thus decreasing the need to tap Pagans and visit friends towns. The only way to earn Runes was to tap pagans and visit friends towns. So, if you’re like me and weren’t tapping pagans and visiting friends as much because you were getting enough brooches via trade ins, then you will be losing out on Runes.
I’m half expecting a surprise Act 3 : a lot of the donut purchases such as the reindeers , Xmas trees and icebergs still have 3 days left to purchase. Weird to be able to buy a winter item AFTER the event is supposedly over tomorrow don’t you think??
So I’m guessing the final daily prize is unattainable since the event ends on the 13th day at 3am. Was anyone able to upgrade the Elf to Level 15, I’m 300+ down with 15 hours to go?
Yes…I got to level 15 a day or so ago. So it is possible.
I reached level 15 yesterday (or the day before?).
I made it to 15 today.
I got there yesterday, but an getting an additional 2 chix fingers and books each time you play makes very little difference in the final totals…nothing happens when you level up to 15…no prize, no change in the box (or the elf). Don’t sweat trying to get there, it’s pretty anticlimactic…
I max out the leveling of the gnome Some three days ago.
This is the proper length for all seasonal events; 4 weeks. Seems like everyone gets irritated the last 2 weeks of a 6-week event because they’re all bored of it; myself included. If it’s going to be 6, change it up for variety.
I’ve been searching your site all morning.. can you please tell me if the creepy elf will be sticking around after the event so we can still earn gift vouchers?

Why does it indicate that we can still purchase the presents for three days? Will there be another way to earn the vouchers or will we only be able to use donuts? Thanks
I just got the Maggie winter suit. I liked that the event was just two acts and the final prizes of Maggie and the Parson were nice. They were relatively easy to get. Other than that, I have pretty much the same complaints as others.

Fell a little behind in my secondary town, which has far fewer premium characters than my main town, but I think I’ll get the star suit today.
I need 10000 of those things to get snowsuit Maggie. I worked out how many I needed per day to get it, but it surprised me by going to 75000. Still have hope, though!
Make sure you are turning in more than the four times a day for the daily gift. Turn off auto update so you might get another day or two. 🙂

Pros: Funny storyline. I actually laughed at a few of the jokes.
Stress free. Got everything easily and plenty of bonuts.
As someone who really wasn’t feeling Christmas this year it was a nice change of pace.
Cons. Crafting items are meh at best, no real clue what to do with them.
Lack of things to spend donuts on. I saved up a ton of donuts for Black Friday and Christmas. Spent like 10 of them.
Mystery boxes. I HATE MYSTERY BOXES. Every past item I wanted was locked into the boxes. I earned about 3,000 currency. Opened 1 2,000 box, got one of 2 prizes I least wanted. Opened a 1,000 box, got one of the prizes I least wanted. My wife opens a box, gets the prize I wanted that she doesn’t. Not spending donuts on a slot machine.
Pro: now you have a ton of donuts saved up for the NEXT event!
What about the surprise boxes? It’s something that will remain forever? Or will finish in the update??
I’m actually surprised at the update tomorrow. With 4 days left on the mystery presents, I had assumed that the gnome tapping would remain. I wonder if we’ll only be able to get dollars by buying items after tomorrow. I was kind of hoping for 4 more days of creepy gnome.

The timers for gift voucher trades as well as a handful of winter items have timers showing 4+ days remaining. Is this a mistake and they’ll be gone after event or once the event is pulled these items will still be around for a few days?
Also there is a day 13 for alter trades that is still locked after you earn day 12 donuts. I know this was like a place holder in act 1 for the start of act 2, but what is it for after act 2? A bonus reward?
And Finally, will the gnome still function after the event? Will tracking him down through town be a new mini game to play regularly like the poly vac, wheres Maggi and chasing down Big Claw?
The event was fine,not difficult. On the other hand didn’t feel like a Christmas event, which caused a lot of unhappy people who unfortunately vented on this site. For that reason alone I’m happy it’s almost over.
Alissa & Patric, thank you for all your hard work, thank you for not shutting down when everyone was pitching a fit. Alissa I know you say your human but girl you pulled this off with dignity and did an awesome job of reining pep in.
Hopefully with this ending before the weekend you and Patric can enjoy your New Year’s weekend. Let’s hope we start the year off right with peace and love to all.
I’ve bought over a dozen deer so far putting them in different places around town eating flowers and shrubs, pooping where my dog can eat it – although she likes the crispy from age Canadian goose stuff better.
My game says there are still four days before they go away. Do you think that is the date to go by or the end of the winter event and EA is just playing with my mind?
Unlocked the starsuit Maggie and had her start the task at Odin’s alter and immediately stored the item to pull her out. I am not easily offended, but having a baby cut off the head of a lamb over and over was too much for me. I realize that the lamb is probably supposed to be a stuffed toy, but sociopathic behavior by a child is not at all entertaining. What were they thinking?
FWIW, it’s a toy lamb, but I didn’t like it either.

You must hate the show then. Maggie is often shown to have violent tendencies. My personal favorite when she attacks Homer with a nail gun.
I’m a little surprised so many people are complaining about the event. I was glad to see something outside the box. I have enough traditional Christmas decorations and I think the items from this event will go good with my sanctuary in the woods.
Also, this event was a lot less taxing. Removing the limit for how many resources we could trade for currency allowed me to finish a week early in each act. I think I ended up with close to 70 bonuts too.
I didn’t think it was nearly as bad as so many have made it out to be, but what’reyagonnado.
I kinda hope you can buy the Pagans to walk around in the town, but not getting my hopes up… I had wanted the Halloween monsters too, but that didn’t happen… Fingers crossed… 😁😁
I really want those pagans, too (ideally, both the Act 1 and Act 2 versions)! I agree that it’s a bit of a long shot, but I’m thinking that it might be more likely than the monsters, because they might want to reuse the monsters in future Halloween events, but I doubt that they’ll be reusing the pagans.
I’m confused about the locked present for day 13? I enjoyed the event and almost have everything I wanted. I even got Sophie! All the bonuts are fabulous!!!
It was okay, definitely different. But what about the three characters/costumes shown in the character group list? Heretic Homer and two others…are those coming likely after Pagan Christmas ends?
Right now I have everything but I would love to get the gnome to level 15. It doesn’t matter anymore anyway because the event is also osteoporosis over, but it would be nice. I am at level 14 now. The payouts for the blue dust is just too small. It never increases beyond 80.
You know what I would love? If we got an event for Springfield Universityou vs. Springfield A&M. I have a special place reserved in my Springfield to build up the Springfield U campus. Please EA?
