Just a reminder that the Winter Event Ends TOMORROW December 30th at 0800 GMT (3am EST)
This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.
As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.
Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…
- Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 2 Acts.
- However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won will remain. (so Ravencrow, Snowsuit Maggie etc)
- The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game. So don’t panic when 0800 GMT hits and the event isn’t out of your game… It will require an app store update to remove everything. Usually those hit around 1-2pm (EDT)
I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so… just know that ANY time after the 30th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after the 30th and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.
So tap those last few Pagans and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.

I’ve just gone into my game and only the gnome is available now. I might have liked to craft one more item and I wasn’t too far off some bonuts, but it’s not too bothersome, as I got everything in the end well in advance
I ended up with just short of 150,000 runestones and got a lot of bonuts, although it would’ve been more if I hadn’t kept hitting the one box

Yea! Gnome in a Box is still active, so for another 4 (?) days we can continue the Mystery Box.
But my character gathering Fish Sticks and Books have switched in mid stream and are only earning $$ and XP.
well i made the wrong decision. it teases you with that extra thing at the end that looks like a prize so i held off on turning in any extra things so maybe i could get that prize but instead it just took them all away. should have gone for some more donuts i shouldve probably had just enough to make it
I did’nt like the first act at all, was a bit mad it was not more chrismasy, but i did like willy satyr and maggie sheep sacrifice. The pagan in second act was more cool looking, but the crafting part was dissapointing there is nothing i really wanna keep in my town.
Question. The event ends in about 3 hours for me but the Winter Store says 4 days and 16 hours left to purchase items. If the update shows up will it remove the Store Inventory? Or will there still be 4 more days to buy stuff?
never mind.. 1:00 am came and everything changed. No app store update, EA just updated direct when you went into the game at 1am. All the pagans were gone all the actions to the game were gone and only the gnome stayed and now only gives you gift certificates.
My game says there are 4 days left for the gift card/mystery boxes, and about the same for many of the winter theme premium items…

lol just wanted to say that.
But dang, I didn’t even realize until now that the whole event is ending today, I just thought there’s another act afterwards; which kind of sucks, since I had no problem completing the prize tracks for these past two acts, but I’m still only on level 7 for the lumber mill. It seemed really hard to get the exchange currency (runestones) this time around, but it’s probably because I didn’t go out of my way to tap the pagans the whole time, what with them being all spread apart, making them hard to find. Either way, I was only interested in the Phone-Henge Kiosk, since it’s more functional, so at least it’s not too much of a bother.
Anyway, I haven’t really been into the event, partly due to lack of interest, but also because I started making the blasphemous switch to the Family Guy game. I just hope I can still manage in one more round of the Gnome mini-game after the event ends, since I’m only 3 vouchers away from hitting 2000!
Normally I would stay around for an extra day to collect bonuts, but this time I will not. This event did not inspire me. I do however appreciate the shorter event. Another two weeks of this would have sucked the spirit of fun out of my holidays…
I just opened my second platinum mystery box. Both times, I won the prize that was listed first on the list, the one on the far left.
That didn’t work for me. I made sure North Pole Station was first, but I ended up with Krusty’s daughter (who I didn’t want)
I’d be interested to know if the people who were offended by the pagan thing for Christmas are also avidly against Halloween and hate that event too.
Personally speaking, I was annoyed by this event even though I am not offended by Halloween events. Why? I think that there is a difference in celebrating Halloween for all that it entails and taking a sacred religious holiday like Christmas and focusing on celebrating paganism. Does that make sense?
All Hallows Eve/All Saints Day is a sacred religious holiday for Catholics.
It does make sense Chrismaya. But you also have to remember that not everyone who plays tapped out are Christians/Catholics. Also not everyone celebrates Christmas. As many don’t celebrate Halloween either.

You do realize that different people celebrate different things around this time of year, and that even many people who celebrate Christmas celebrate it as a secular holiday rather than a religious one. There are even still pagans who do celebrate the winter solstice rather than Christmas. I don’t want to get into a whole thing again, but it just sounds like your objection is that this event didn’t match your concept of what this time of year is. I can see being disappointed about that, but it hardly seems worth getting into the kind of state people were in.
Well, either that, or you see pagan beliefs as evil or at least not legitimate, and not worthy of acknowledgement.
That said, if they were going to do a pagan event, they could have at least done an episode where paganism played a significant part of the episode instead of giving it a few minutes of airtime that provided some jokes but didn’t really figure into the plot. A Hanukkah event would have made much more sense for the episode this event tied into.

Um I hate to say this but the majority of things associated with Christmas are pagan…In the Bible in the Christmas Story it states that the angel told the shepards that the King of Israel was born…The only time shepards are with their flock is when the ewes are dropping their lambs…and I can tell you that it is not near the winter solstice…it is in the early spring…The reason Christmas is celebrated at this time is that the early church wanted to get as many pagans as possible to join the church…think about it like this…how many days of the week are based in Christianity??? The answer is none…Sunday=Sun worship….Monday=Moon worship…Tuesday=The Norse God of war Tyr…Wednesday=The Norse All – Father Odin (Woden to the Germanic people) Thursday=The Norse God of Thunder (and war…The Norse had many War Gods)…Friday=The Norse Goddess Frigga Goddess of Motherhood…and finally Saturday=The Roman God Saturn (Father of Jupiter/Zeus)
The only reason I know a lot about this is from a Jesuit education…yes the Catholic Church taught me the true meaning of the Christmas story…I would ask that you read up on the history of both Christmas and Easter…it would make you a more learned person about things that you might take for granted.
Yes, and also very curious that the Christian Easter still follows the cycle of the moon – “coincidentally” in exactly the same was as the Pagan tradition, and all the eggs, rabbits, and hot-cross buns stuff is Pagan too. You’d think a crucifixion and subsequent resurrection would occur on a fixed date and not fall on the same day as a Pagan holiday. Hmm very curious indeed! 🙂
The date rules were set at the First Council of Nicaea (325 AD)
I never said that there weren’t any pagan traditions that morphed into the Christmas holiday. I am also aware of the questions about whether or not Jesus was born in December. However, my point is that the holiday is RELIGIOUS in nature and celebrated around the birth of Christ (hence “Christ-mas”). While there are some pagan traditions that morphed into the holiday, the holiday itself is of undeniable religious significance.
Someone asked if I would be upset about the celebration of Kwanzaa if developers celebrated it with an event focused on paganism. I do think that there is a difference in the sense that Kwanzaa is a relatively new holiday (invented in 1966) and not focused upon a particularly sacred tradition. However, I would have a problem if developers did the same thing with Hanukkah, Diwali, Ramadan, etc.
I understand that there are some people — even religious people — who might not be offended. However, there are many of us who are. I hope that you can understand why. I think that this event was very ill-conceived.
The only thing that truly offends me are people who get offended… I am a firm believer in to each their own (whatever that may be) and in minding your own business.

I suspect that there are things that would offend you if you really thought long and hard enough. I suppose that the issue is that religious faith, beliefs and traditions are important to more important to some people than others (right or wrong that they might be).
In this case, some people (i.e., those who celebrate Christmas) might feel that it is their own business. They aren’t “protesting” it and most of us live and let live. However, it doesn’t mean that we aren’t upset by it.

Everyone has a different view as far as their religious beliefs, even those of the same faith. While I have no problem with skulls & all that comes with Halloween, I don’t particularly care for the whole sacrifices thing for this event. The one question I have that is just driving me nuts is where the h-e-double hockey sticks did the flying saucer come into play in this event?😂😂😂
I was hoping that the flying saucer would bring us Serak The Preparer.

I was happy with the event & the bonuts gathered after the main questline. Time ends for me 7pm tonight. It’s nearly 2pm as I type & I’ll get another 4 hr reset for all @ 2.50 & 3pm. I’ve handed in everything I can & may yet make another round of bonuts & a craftable on each of my games
In my A game I got the Animal Shelter & Victor’s Secret from the Mystery Boxes. The only things available in the game for that town, as all others I’ve seen described here were already in that town. I’m well short of the monorail station box; An item I don’t want as I’ve disassembled & stored all monorail stuff due to lagging issues & the fact that I hated that event!
My B town is a tad short of Victor’s Secret box – but the box also has Plow King & Mr Plow available. I’d like VS & could live with PK; But another skin for Homer is pretty much useless! I can get the raccoon in right now (only thing left in the 1st box); But really want to try for the VS building. I may need to use some of my bonuts for that one & will be very unhappy if I get Mr Plow!
In short; I hate the random mystery boxes! Love the almost free Xmas prezzies! A nod to hard core tappers & long term players from EA would have made the event special!
Event was ok for me, I was not emotionally charged since this was just a game. Took my time and did not rush through event. Got all prizes except the last item to be crafted with 6 hours more before end of event. Overall prizes not too exciting going except for the Burning Man with a cool animation.
I give EA for coming up with new ways to get prizes, especially the voucher system. I did not have most prizes so I did not feel as strongly about the unfairness compared to other players who have been around much longer.
One huge bonus I got from this event was the new North Pole Monorail station from the free vouchers! I’m a fan of the Monorail. But what irked me the most is that EA refused to take away the auto sleep timer despite writing in 3 times for my request. I also suggested they change it to a user setting. This feature took away my favorite feature of the game – Ride The Monorail since screen will hibernate 10 sec into my train ride. Tapping the train to prevent hibernation stops the train! (Alissa, if there’s someone you can hook me up with in EA, let me know so I can write in and explain my case)

It’s your device that hibernates, not the game. Check your device settings.
Glad this one is over. I wasn’t one of those that were offended by it but the prizes sucked. Usually I make an area for each event but I’m not making one for this one. I HATED the Future event and I still have a tiny future area.
Some of the prizes went well in my farm area, but most of them were incorporated into my Halloween area which Hello!! Halloween is over!!
My favourite things were starsuit Maggie, return of the reindeer, and I was FINALLY about to get the Christmas raccoon 😍
I hope the snow stays though. I always find it weird they take away the snow in January after the Xmas event is over even though winter is just picking up in North Anerica at this time.

I’ll wait until forced to update to keep the snow and maybe earn some more bonus donuts…. They really should keep it at least until March. The place looks dreary without it. But then I grew up in Michigan, where snow started in early October and stayed until May…
Would like to get another elf house also for my elfin community. They look nice, pay out $ and XP, and have a 2.5% conformometer bonus. What’s not to love? But my tiny KEM garden is slow to produce donuts and I’ll have to slow it down more to build up my cash reserves again so I hope they really do intend to keep them purchasable after the event for a few days. I added a few KEMs during the event to make up for characters busy with the event and to speed up the harvest a little, but I’ve been an unlucky guesser in the 1-2-3 donut game lately and the spinning lights trick eludes me.
I also want to keep crafting braziers as long as possible, even though it’s getting hard to find a free spot to place them. Looks cheerful, though. They were the only craftable that appealed to me. Wish I could have picked up some craftable cash-generating buildings such as in the Future event and Halloween. I have a large apartment complex with retro townhouses, spooky cabins, and spooky houses.
For a long time Tapper, I’m glad this Game App is still going after 4 (er 5?) Years …. yes, there are times when I feel that EA is only getting it half right (ie no more NPC’s, offer New Characters with Tasks, offer New Buildings with Character Tasks – all of these are preferred over Decor that doesn’t do much beyond increase your % ‘s and/or Vanity Levels) and that sums up the last two Events (Halloween & Winter Solstice) ….
I guess we’ll have a quick New Year’s Task (got to give Newbs a chance to earn that NYE Globe which Descends and/or Fireworks), but I hope EA considers treating long time Tappers better than they’re doing now (without compromising Newbs) 🤔

Heard some say they’re expecting the snow to stick around for the next event. Hope that’s not the case. In the middle of a pretty big remodel and I’m kinda waiting to see what certain areas will look like in the normal game before deciding if I like them or not
I think the snow will melt when the gnome in home and the items in the store leave. 🙂 So just possibly a few more days of snow. Personally, I think it looks better with snow, as it hides the out of place grass on Springfield Gorge, and it fits in with my design better. Whenever the snow melts, I can add my murderhorn to the design. 😀
Hi, everyone. Just started playing this game less than a month ago right after the event started. I wasn’t close to finishing act one of the event (getting the Parson would’ve been nice) but I did get Snowsuit Maggie to complete act two.
For my first event it didn’t seem so bad. Most of it was okay. Being a newbie, I had a lot of other stuff going on in the game at the same time so it was a bit hectic figuring out how to allocate resources for awhile.
Anyway, progressing far enough into the game (level 22 now) to be able to complete act two was nice but I now have a snowsuit for Maggie but no Maggie to put it on. Oh well.
The best thing you have done is finding this website. It is an invaluable resource for playing this game!
Welcome, new addict.:) The events are hard when you are new and trying to level up. Always check here for info so you know how things work and what you need to do versus what can wait. And you’ll get Maggie soon enough. 🙂

Do take heart. I started ~October 2014, and at first, I had no donuts, I had no characters and all I got during an event was a “rock” – the cheapest, easiest Event Prize.
Two years later and three $20 donut purchases later, I have ~160 characters, almost all the land, ~$45,000,000 in game cash and a stash of donuts that I’m hoarding for what I truly want.

I have no feelings either way about the Pagan theme, although an original Christmas event would have been much better. Problem is EA is recycling so many tired mini-games and items/prizes. I guess the talent has moved on to other projects. I agree that the voucher program hurts long-term players. It would have been better had there been a chance to win the Shelbyville items with donuts. EA is obviously trying to maximize money streams
Good, i didn’t like this Christmas event. Didn’t play much of the event, just collected money and put the citizens on tasks.
Managed to play the event at a relaxed pace. Not bothered by the religious contentions. Wish there were more returning items to buy as I got a lot of unused cash vouchers.
Huh, I only managed to get enough vouchers for 2 prizes, one of which was the Yes! Guy and meh, he’s a let down. How did people collect so many vouchers? Is a puzzlement.
Got 1 prize for the tickets I collected, north poke station, but other prises not worth the effort and collecting very slow, if there were more prises would be good
I bought more of some of the premium stuffs. I like the Yes guy. He will diligently do his work

I bought a few items from the store, and got 3 prizes with vouchers, and I am trying to save up for a platinum since I got really bad prizes last time I did platinum :/ I badly want Sophie or Mr Costington, although the slide factory would be pretty cool 🙂 I’m assuming I’ll get BPL Motel, or Christmas monorail thingy. People are saving vouchers I think, I wish I did 😛

Very excited for 2017 – think it will be a great year and I hope EA give us plenty to speculate over, what’s coming in 2017, with the takedown description.
I don’t think the snow will leave tomorrow. All of the upcoming items, in the files, are covered in snow so I THINK the snow will go after that mini-event 😊

There is no Act 3, the event ends tomorrow at 08:00 GMT.
The surprise is coming January 3 with a separate event. It’s been widely reported.
Looks like act 3 will be a new year event, Grampa task just started for me to celebrate new year, 4 hour task, and gnome task to collect tickets still has 3 days to go

I know you dont like these questions and i understand why. Not complaining. But i saw in the homer the heretic collection. Looked on the other website that gives spoilers. I can only afford either the nativity scene or the black character believe his name was brother faith. Krustys dad is a no brainer. Question is will brother faith be one of those have to get characters ill regret (to me a cool outside quest). Already spent alot on donuts this event between catching up on some missed items etc so dont really want to spend again in a few days?
I would personally say that a character is always going to be more useful than something like the nativity scene.
Yea but a decoration with 4 interesting outdoor quests is more interesting then some characters that i regret buying. Like the babysitter. So for the dounuts brother faith costs is more then nativity
I prefer characters to decorations because with decorations, you are still earning the same amount of money, but a new character increases your money. And how many months of the year will you use the nativity? I actually like the Babysitter Bandit because she can animate the Bad Dream House and some other buildings.
But when it comes down to it, will the Nativity make you happy? If so, you should get it because you will regret not getting it. 🙂
I will definitely say that this was the least enjoyable event in a long time. Since I’m a completionist I already had all the prizes you could get with vouchers.. so I have a collection of over 2500 vouchers that I can’t trade in for anything. The crafting items were not exactly great.
Saving graces were that the dialog was quite entertaining, and the creepy gnome was fun.
Biggest let down though is the move EA went with the bonus characters and decorations you get with the purchase of donuts. And that being the only way to get the items.. I’d gladly work hard at getting donuts by all the ways we can, to use donuts to get these items.. but I refuse to pay for donuts anymore.
Do you know if we will still be able to tap that possessed little elf? He’s creepy, but I would love another few days for another platinum prize.

The North Pole Station never had any steps. I got mine last year for donuts.
I don’t understand, the Homer the Heretic event is scheduled to start on the 3rd and the files are already in the system. So why would there be a Takedown update when it seems like Homer the Heretic will just be more or less Act 3…..kind of like how we had Act Maggie in January of 2016?
No one knows quite what will happen. So I’m operating as if things are as they usually are
