Around The World Event- Act I Calendar

calendar-main
Ah…every great world traveler needs a calendar to help you plan your next stop, stay on track, and keep earning your Hotels.com rewards! I know…Deb and I did a 9,600 mile, 23 state, cross-country driving trip this past summer…in just 30 days.  Staying on track allowed us to meander and enjoy the trip. And THAT is the goal of having a calendar for these huge events!

And…like trying to cover that much territory in 30 days, sometimes the numbers can be daunting. I’m not going to lie…this one seems a bit tough to hit all of the road-markers to collect all of the primary prizes. But, I suspect there will be some surprises, daily rewards, and all sorts of ways that EA will EAse the anxiety!

Let’s Take A Look!

As usual…I start on DAY ONE…because I don’t want you to relax for a minute (even though most of this still comes down to cycling every 4 hours). It is Do-Able…but you will have to be diligent to cover all of the miles required to get everything.

For those of you who are less Visual…and More LINEAR… Here is a quick and easy Graph Version of the info you need.

Buckle those seat belts…make sure to take your “rest stop breaks,” but you won’t have time for long, languishing meals or side trips to places not on the map. And keep you coffee cups full!

Have fun…seeing other places is the surest way to understand what makes us all similar, and breaks down misunderstanding between us. Right? And, if all else fails…just go to Epcot or Las Vegas…they have reasonable facsimiles of all of the good stuff. Have fun!

How are you doing after a full day…or two?  Panicking or confident?  You know we LOVE to hear from you.

  1. Started 24 hour tasks for all just before the update hit. Just started today at noon hope I can catch up.

  2. I mean, I knew it would be, it had to be, but holy cow that Eiffel Tower is huge.

  3. ALISSA SHOULD I BUY ALL THE THINGS
I’M ABOUT TO BUY ALL THE THINGS

  4. This update would not drop for me on my iphone until about noon today. Feeling a bit rushed now that since I am behind on getting everything set up.

  5. Do we know if the free land will follow on from here, i got too excited and brought all the land, except the 3 mil piece as I used the free one given, didn’t know we’d get more..

  6. Confidence is high!

  7. Anybody else noticed increase in doughnut prices. Up to £19.99 from £14.99 here in the U.K. for the 300 load.😡

    • Ohhh this is so annoying! I just checked and, you’re right, it has increased significantly to £19.99. It doesn’t seem worth it anymore. So, I wont be getting my hands on Jebediah Springfield any time soon 🙁

    • That price increase is Google Apple and Amazons doing. EA only gets the base price.

    • Michelle pearson

Unfortunately this is because our country voted for Brexit and since then the pound has taken a massive nose dive. I’ve noticed the same thing in other games I play. It’s not that they are increasing prices but our currency is falling in the exchange rates.

    • You have to pay VAT of the price of the donuts. It happened in Holland too last year.

  8. I seem to be doing ok, got the Eiffel Tower and opened the suitcase for a bonus prize today – I got a piece of free land that I used on a $1m costing bit. What’s the virus part about? Nothing in my Springfield yet. Early event review, I really like it! My kind of buildings and prizes. Best one since the casino for me ☺

  9. Thank you for the calendar as always.

Random Question: Has the Monorail Mountain glitch ever get fixed? I still cannot get my pieces to fit properly…

  10. Hopefully EA will adjust some of the goals like they have done in past events. Sometimes life gets in the way and it is impossible to check your game every four hours. I hope they take that into account.

  11. Any Bonuts?

  12. Your graphic is wrong. According to your numbers Maurice should be available sooner.

I started last night and am only at 868 and I’ve visited multiple times. Is there an easier way to find tourists than searching your whole town? Is there something I’m missing?

    • The travel kiosk building (Tourist Information Center) you get for free during the few first steps of main quest allows to clear the entire town every 4 hours

    • The easiest is every four hours, hit the tourist information hut and that clears them all. In the in between times, you can go into the crafting menu, and ONLY IF you have fewer sky credits than required to get to the next level, you can hit the arrow with numbers in it, then click do it in the pop up and you’ll be centred on a tourist. Repeat and profit 🙂

    • Calvin Smelliott

Sorry for the double post but I figured out what I’m doing wrong. 🙂

    • Tap on the Tourist Information Center every 4 hours and all tourist will be tapped automatically and gives you all the proceeds of those tourists.

    • When you progress in the questline you’ll be awarded the tourist info centre. It’ll clear all tourists every 4 hours. Alternatively, and only if you do not have enough crafting currency to level up, the button to spend your crafting currency to level up will take you to tourists in your town.

    • The Tourist Information Centre will clear them every 4 hours when it is ready to be tapped on. You can also tap on any tourists you see in the meantime. These events do seem slow going at first but the momentum soon picks up. Your daily challenges will no doubt offer event currency too, mine did this morning ☺

    • Two ways first you can every 4 hours click the tourist information building ADC collect all the tourists, second you can use the crafting trick were you click the price to level up crafting then click do it WARNING do NOT click if you have more travel points than needed to level up this will waste them buy some item this will level you up and give you some swag then you can go back to tourist collecting, also currently there is not a message when your town is empty it just won’t move when you click

    • It very tedious, but send as many characters on flights as possible every 4 hours. Keep as many characters free as you can. When you use up 3 tickets, you have to wait 2 minutes for a new one to appear, and it maxes at 3. When you run out of people to fly, you can go to another springfield and come back. More characters should show up at the airport to send, if they are free to do something. Another trick is send one character on your “flight” list on another job. I noticed that he/she gets replaced by more characters. Its very tedious, but I think I got over 50 characters on flights before going to bed last night…gave me a lot of pins this morning. I doubt I’ll always have that much time on my hands to do this, especially every 4 hours, but it does give you a lot of currency.

      • Hmmm…. most of what you wrote is true… checking on the “Other Springfield Part” right now. If true, will be included in my “Math Post” that is coming up soon.—– AND Sorry…at least in my game, going to the “Other Springfield” didn’t work for me. It may in other games…hard to say. But, it sounds like a glitch at best. But, the rest of what you wrote is good.

        • You’re right, may have been a glitch. The other springfield trick doesn’t seem to work this evening, but the other one still seems to.

          • I followed the instructions above. I had flight tasks for 5 characters, so I sent 4 on flights and the final one on another task. The character on another task was not replaced and I did not have any others added to the flight list. All that resulted was losing the chance to have 5 characters collect pins, rather than just 4. Apparently the glitch has been fixed.

  14. Hi I’m a new player and I’ve never played an event before. What do you senior members recommend regarding the craftable objects? Should I level up first or start crafting what I want as soon as I can?
    Thanks for the help 🙂

    • Level up first IMO.

    • Craft. Every item you craft helps in leveling up.

    • Crafting items contributes to levelling up, so craft away!

    • If you craft items it’ll help towards levelling up.

    • Do not spend currency to level up directly. Every item you craft will contribute towards levelling up. If you’ve spent your currency on level upgrades instead you won’t have any crafting currency for items.

    • Every time you craft you get points twords leveling up never spend points to level up just make something and it will level you up

    • You will level up by crafting. If you just choose the “level up” option, you’ll use the same amount of currency but won’t craft anything. And any spillover XP carries into the next level. So build whatever you want that you can, and it’ll level you up.

    • Just craft as you go, it’ll count towards leveling up anyway. Once you’ve got more options to craft, then just pick up the stuff you really like or want multiples of.

    • Always craft, craft, craft…never choose “level up”…

      • Unless you don’t want the clutter…which I don’t always. I like some of the stuff, but really not jacked about others. Also…if you craft little stuff, it makes it harder to get the bigger rewards. So…cumse cumsa…right?

        • I don’t normally correct posters, but since the event is French themed, I thought I’d let you know that it’s, “comme ci, comme ça”, not “cumse comsa” 😛

        • I was 40 off levelling up and didn’t want to spend 160 on an item (the cheapest available) to level up as I preferred to use that other 120 towards the next level prize

I may have to do this a few times depending how far off I am each time

    • Carmen (gameid5000)

I don’t enjoy cluttering up my Springfield with multiples of items, so I tend to craft one of each item and then spend whatever the crafting currency is to level up to access the next items.

You end up spending the same amount of currency, but perhaps save the issue of “too many items” in your Springfield.

My only exception to this is if a craftable item earns income, in which case I’ll craft multiples of it, since it will benefit me after the event ends.

    • Wooow thanks to everyone for the help!
      Now I’ll start crafting indiscriminately
      Happy tapping everyone!!

  15. Wow let’s give credit to EA where credit is due! Not one, not two but THREE strips of land in this update!?!? And they seem to have put lots of effort into improving the game play experience. Running very smoothly as late. This around the world theme is very enjoyable. Good job EA! Thanks to listening to your audience.

  16. How do we earn more plane tickets? I made the mistake of sending too many characters on trips at the beginning, and I can’t see a reference to actually earning any.

  17. Hi do you guys know how the virus part works? I’m currently at 14/100 and I have no idea how I got to 14. When I tap a tourist it doesn’t increase the number.

    • Tracy - 1ltwoody920

When an infected ‘friend ‘ visits, taps your building and leaves a marker – when you ‘clear’ the marker you ‘earn’ one Virus.

Now that I am infected, when I start my Daily 90 taps, I believe that I can infect my friends. Perhaps I am doing so now – I’m not certain if I only infect during the first 90 taps.

    • I wonder if it is the number of friends you have that are infected already?

  18. I have the Osaka Flu! What do I do?!

  19. It’s a tight one. I usually exchange the daily challenge when it offers event currency hoping for sprinkles, but this time I think I’ll take the event $ as a boost.

    • I don’t usually buy the “neighbor visit booster”, but I bought the passport this time. It’s going to help me get to the pin goal easier everyday, reduce the tapping stress, and let me enjoy the game more…well worth the sprinklies.

      • How much of a boost does it provide? I never buy them…and after doing the math post (which will show up soon) I’m not too worried about hitting the daily goals. But I am curious how much they boost, as it only applies to the neighbors portion.

        • 5 pins x 89 visits = 445 pins/day from neighbours. Significant enough in this event, but I’m still going without the passport. I think it’s a better deal to buy the Chateau Maison if you’re worried about accumulating enough pins, but if you’re only able to log on once or twice a day it might be a good choice.

      • I can’t imagine the boost is worth the donuts. Getting Moonshine Kumiko, on the other hand, gives you a boost while giving you a permanent building/character (if you don’t already have her).

  20. do we need to leave cash symbols floating over our buildings? are the pins independent?

  21. This is probably best event ever

  22. So far I’m on track. I only have a thousand left to get for today. I’m more worried about finishing the crafting track. I haven’t gotten the last prize from the crafting the last three events using it. I’m planning to set alarms to remind myself every four hours except during sleep.

  23. I messed up Uncle Norbert’s tasks at the beginning, now I’m paying for it. I started yesterday right away and yet I’m far behind day two 🙁

  24. I like the addition of land tokens. Use them wisely, and you can save yourself millions of dollars in in-game cash. 😀

  25. Almost at Maurice, I’ll have him in later in the afternoon

  26. Same here, way behind, started at 11pm last night 🙁

  27. Americatown and Kumiko is 135 donuts on my A game and 175 donuts on my B game – that right? The listing is identical in all other ways.

    • One game likely has Kumiko the other does not.

    • petshopboy1980s

What is the benefit, if any, to having an A and B game?

      • Some people just like to play multiple games.

      • There is no benefit really – just a way to lose more of your life than you really need to 🙂 I took over a Springfield from my daughter for a few weeks … but that was 1-2 years ago now. There is probably a self help group or therapy available. Stick with your one game is my top tip! 🙂

      • You know you’ll always have at least one neighbor? 🙂

I inherited mine (my son stopped playing), so aside from having another town to give me event-anxiety, I don’t know if there is a real benefit.

My B town doesn’t get a donut infusion other than the free ones, so it’s basically just a place for me to mess around in. Which reminds me, it needs a spring cleaning soon…

        • I have a and b towns.
One I spent real money on and one I am freemium
Played both for almost 3 years.
Pretty much quit the free game after Xmas 2026 event
          Too much grinding for me.
But I do log in occasionally to test things out and help my a town in an event where I can.

      • I have A,B and my daughter’s town.
Great way to make sure you have no time to do anything of value in your real life.

    • I didn’t have Kumiko and payed 175 donuts for her character, the skin, and the building.

  28. Uhh I just download it today 2/1 and the calendar starts on 1/31?

    • The event hit yesterday at 4pm Eastern Time (US)

      • Upload didn’t show on my device until 6 a.m. CST this morning. Another grindfest. But what should we really expect from them anymore.

        • Sometimes you have to search your app store for the update if you know it’s expected. That’s a fault of iOS and/or Google not necessarily EA. They just release the update to the stores, it’s the stores that implement them

  29. Ykes, I’m far far behind! I’m only at 1481 as of today. And it’s the evening over here!

  30. Eek – that’s a lot per day! I started 5 seconds after it was avail and am apparently way behind day two, even though I have done everything in time. Got visitors this weekend so already know I won’t make it at this rate unless EA drop a few along the way.
