TTT-Egyptian Era Calendar

Well…I feel partly responsible for the fact that lots of people didn’t complete the last era.  I assumed that if you logged on every 4 hours, 3-4 times a day, you’d get it all. But, you know that they say about the word, “Assume” right?  (Makes and Ass-out of U and Me). But, then again, even I didn’t finish in time (was still 12K off when it flipped), so I was one of the “victims” of Freemium Players who didn’t “get it all” and am wondering if we will be able to get everything this “era.”

So far…so good…I’m on track so far after a day. BUT, let’s not forget that EA changed the payouts in the middle of the Era (bastids!)…so who knows?  All we can do is try...right?

Let’s see what we have to do to keep up…

And for those that like simple digital facts to measure their “Toaster Time.”

I’m not sure what I think…we’ll see!

  1. I barely got to the end of the prize track, so no bonuts for me this round.

  2. Didn’t have a problem finishing act 1. I finished with 4 days spare and 4 rounds of bonuts. I only bought booberella. I am addicted though and do tap more than every 4 hours but most days only cleared mom & pop store 4 times. Occasionally 5 when i couldn’t sleep. I did have good success with the gems. I maxed the shovels out 213 for the next act so am sitting around 29000 at da mo. I do think changing the rate of drops down is a low act by EA. Many people can’t log in all the time so why should they be punished for EA’s calculation mistake. I kinda find the prizes and crafting items very lack lustre. Most will go in storage after the event. Well that’s my 2 cents even though we no longer have a 1 or 2 cent coin hehee

I really wanted that baby Rex but was miles from it even though I played the game faithfully. Felt really annoyed with EA for making these prizes extra hard to get. They keep forgetting us non-donut-cracked players are their bread and butter!

  4. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who couldn’t finish in time. I spent donuts to finish but got ripped off coz my game froze and still took the donuts but then took baby T-Rex away.

    • 313mancbranch

Shame you can’t gift prizes or I’d give you mine, I can’t stand NPCs so whilst I got the Baby T Rex about halfway through the first act, it was placed and then put away where it will stay (unless it ever gets tasks and becomes a full character). I must have 30 NPCs and not one I’ve ever used!

  5. I have found what may be a part of the “non working” links problem. The only time the links seem to freeze is when a Behr paint ad is showing…it is an active scrolling ad, and the “link freeze” only seems to happen after it appears on a page. Have gone several days without a problem, and then it happened again. It doesn’t happen until you scroll down and the ad becomes visible…then all the links on the page are frozen.

    • I’ll pass along. Can you send a screen shot if it happens again?

    • You mean this? I agree it was very frustrating until I figured it out too. You have to wait for it to play and then exit it out before you can click on anything.

      https://imgur.com/a/GnO3M

      • Mines doing the same… but it’s St Jude instead. Once it finishes playing, I can x it out. But if it’s playing, I can’t click anything on the site

      • I was just about to post mine, but you got a similar one to what I saw (mine was for pet food). Just realized, too, that there is a counter that shows an X when it’s done. Until the X appears, I can’t do anything on the site except scroll. Wonder if this is the new brand of ads…can’t do anything until you acknowledge they exist…

        • They’re doing everything they can to discourage ads…so annoying. I’m continuing to bring it up.

          • Just had another one of these for a wings restaurant, but the window for the ad was sized to the ad. I was able to access site links without waiting for the ad to “finish.” I wonder if the problem is that the other ads that have a timer aren’t being sized properly, so then they essentially disable everything else on the site.

      • Agreed becoming very frustrated with that ad

      • Even waiting for the ad to finish didn’t work for me…I have to reload the page. I can tap links until it starts, then I am frozen out. Am trying Puffin web browser ( a non- Google based browser) since google ads is the problem.

      • Hi All…if you can take a minute to answer Dennis’ (from WordPress) questions about the issue I’d appreciate it. His comment thread is here:

Happened to me, happens to me.
I just close out and re-enter.
Annoying, but in the scheme of things, minor.
Heck, some guests have ‘lost’ several family members, other have had brain surgery.
Me, Wednesday I’m going under General Anesthesia for Out Patient on my (horrors!!) Tapping Arm and elbow.
      Horrors!!

      Onward!

  6. Not going to get everything in the last two eras. Get to go to Tomahawk scout camp in Wisconsin with my boy. We are leaving Saturday and coming back next Saturday and there is little to no cell service. Oh well, life happens. We’re going to have a blast! Hopefully we get good weather-last year it rained a couple of days (including the first one, nothing like setting up camp in the rain).

  7. Jeroen Beck (NL)

i dind’t finish act 1 because i started 4 days to late. And i even reduced it to 2 days behind. but now i am on time and on schedule. i already have 19k and the first 2 prices within 2 days !!! also because i had saved some shovels (almost 50)

  8. I spent 10 donuts to get the final prize, but as I’m recovering from brain surgery, i decided to sleep whenever my body let me rather than trying desperately to log in every 4 hours. (hooray for me, finally a cause for my debilitating headaches and insomnia – a very large but thankfully benign tumour that was hurriedly removed within 2 days of diagnosis!) Im taking a more relaxed approach to egypt- i dont really lke any of the prizes so dont feel the need to be so completist. I think I’ll probably be more relaxed with future events too as my insomnia was the only real reason i managed to complete every event since the easter event from hell way back when the game was in its infancy.

    • Hope you enjoy a speedy recovery 😊(and a good night’s sleep 😴).

    • BanglesDupree

Hope you have a speedy recovery! I also had to spend exactly 10 donuts to get Moe’s Cavern, but my reason is I didn’t visit my friends often enough. It really helped me that Alissa said spending 85 donuts on Caveman Moe was okay. I tapped dinosaurs every chance I got and whittled it down to 10 donuts. Happy Tapping!

  9. I concentrated on upgrading the panini press (mostly for the excavation site upgrades) with crafting tons and tons of prehistoric ferns (they have the best tachyon payout ratio) and didn’t have any problems finishing the first era on time. I really think the item boost from the excavation site upgrades really helped me a lot.

(I’ll focus on crafting things I actually want later. Kinda been waiting on an actual crafting post…. )

    • hassenpfeffer

Same here. The ferns made a huge difference in boosting tachyons, which boosted payouts.

  10. Feel bad to be in the minority.(I’m in between a freemium & premium player)I was able to earn caveman Moe with 2 days to spare & then get 2 rounds of bonuts. Usually am able to tap 5 times a day so can hit the 4 hour cycle well enough. Currently I’m just under 20k of the parchment/scroll things. Good luck to everyone else

  11. Yeah, I missed the first act prize too in both my Springfield worlds. Ah well

  12. sdgirouard894

I was one of the unfortunate people to get the ‘land error and didn’t get to play the first act AT ALL so I’m very behind on everything that goes through all acts…

Luckily, I kept checking to see if my game went back to normal and noticed yesterday at 5 pm that I finally had access to it. (EA hasn’t contacted me in a week even though I’ve continuously emailed them.)

So now I’m only at 6850 for the main currency and obviously behind. Here’s to hoping I can drop in every 4 hours and tap all of the pharaohs (since my press is only at level 2.)

    THANKS FOR NOTHING EA!!!!

  13. Narcissa Bones

I ended up spending 25 donuts to get Caveman Moe, just because I did want him. I work very full time, and run a household, though this is only the second time I’ve not been able to reach a prize I wanted. I will definitely reach what I want on this act. Seeing as how I’m not interested in anything but the free land token. I also wanted the burning tree from the excavation site. Got that. Now I’m just saving shovels. I’ll be ahead for act three. I’m hoping the pirate prizes are more interesting! Thanks for all the info you guys always provide!

  14. play 4 time’s a day 9/13/17/21 and ahead of schedule so no troble to get al the stuf.

  15. Started act 1 2 days to late an had everything with 1 day left to play..
Sow for me it was an easy one.

Now, monday evening 21 hr, I’m on 20.000..
Guess it wil be easy again…

I do have Boobarella, the historic society building and I visits my neigbourinos every day..
    Playing 4 times a day.

  16. Josephine Kick@$$

Thank you for the hard work Patric 😊 I feel very fortunate that I’ve gotten the characters & time to get everything. My grandkids have been helping me dig though, & they have much better luck choosing where to dig than I 😂

  17. Keith1Roon991

Well ahead at almost 30k without skinner and boobyrama, think I tapped 5 times a day most days, even saved 160 shovels for act 2 and got 1 round of donuts before act 2, kept ahead of your calendar good work 😎 think am on course to do this on time, time for a nap zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    • Wow it’s like you wrote my comment for me 😀 exactly the same here, 30k, no booberella or skinner (but gravedigger billie), saved 170 shovels .. good work 👍 🎉

  18. 5 years ago tomorrow I started tapping and I feel this is the most grueling event ever. Too much time for too much crap. Come on EA we know you can do better.

  19. I made it with literally minutes to spare. I didn’t have enough donuts for Booberella, so bought grave digger Willie the second to last day. That has helped me tremendously. I still don’t have all the prehistoric crafting items. One of my neighbors had all of them plus camels, MULIPLE tents and columns plius the Sphinx before the prehistoric era was over. How did they do all that crafting so quickly??!!

    • Crafting-wise, I’ve been logging in 4 times a day, sometimes 5. I bought the premium building/character combo that generates an additional 270 crafting points/4 hours. That combination put me way ahead crafting-wise since I also was able to craft a camel before the end of act one.

  20. While I was able to get everything in Act 1 along with one set of bonuts (the event before was much, much easier to hit multiple bonut payouts), I can definitely see how getting all the way through would have been challenging. I got Boobarella to help with the shovels, so that made a pretty big difference.

Even with all that, I barely unlocked Homer Lizard before Act II began. I know I didn’t have to in order to get that, but I consider it a measure of where I am in the crafting track compared to the acts themselves.

I’m probably going to stay more ahead of the pace in Act II, but it’s my opinion that during an event, the only changes EA should really make to the currency that drops is to improve it for people who need it, not limit it. In the last event, while certain payouts were decreased, the overall impact led to more ways to get it and more gained overall. If they’ve set a currency such that it’s “too easy” to accumulate, that’s their miscalculation. Players shouldn’t be the ones to pay the price for that when they adjust down what things will give out.

You also shouldn’t HAVE to be getting in to tap religiously every four hours, up to five times a day, just to clear all the prizes. I know it doesn’t take a lot of time to do that, but not everyone has the ability to do it on 4-hour cycles.

  21. I have no clue how I did it, but I managed to get the the last prize three hours before the end after starting out 2 or 3 days behind. Luck with the jewels and diligent tapping may be what put me over the top. I had just enough donuts to get Booberella and that helped a bit.

I started on time this round, so I am hoping to get some bonuts this round to start rebuilding my depleted stock. Best of luck Tappers!

  22. Not sure how, but I am way ahead on this one. I do have Boobarella and Skinner, but nothing else. I am at 26,000 right now.

  23. I am a freemium player and got it all but I get up during the night! EA is getting cruel! There is no way to get it all unless you play at least 5 times a day. Thats 20 hours out of 24! It gets a bit too much sometimes.

    • I agree…but would take that one step further… More than 4 times a day is simply intrusive, and certainly not worth a digital bauble.
I try to do 6/10/2/6/10…but almost always have a conflict that takes me out of the loop…and I end up finding myself staring at my padular device at 11P (past my bedtime) and just saying, “pfffttttt…. not worth staying up for another hour.”

      • Based on my work schedule (6 AM to 6 PM) and when I can get a break or lunch in, I usually end up doing my cycles around 3 AM, 7-8 AM, noonish, 4-5 PM, and 8-9 PM right before bed. It works, but end up being late with any of that and it throws things off until the next day.

      • Patric, that is my schedule as well. Sometimes it’s 5:45am, as I get up at 5:30-5:40. I’ll do some quick tapping, and then get ready for work (or tap while I’m brushing my teeth).

If my schedule gets screwed up and I find my last one is past 10pm, I just let it go. I like this game, but I’m not losing sleep because of it. Mmmmmmm…sleep…

      • My schedule as well Patric. Started playing when TSTO first came out and am having trouble with the time it takes to complete this one. I am ahead now but I work on Saturdays and that seemed to get me behind in the first round.

      • *ahem* As coming to a certain ‘age’ I sometimes have to get up at night… so keeping the 4h-pace overnight leads to another farming time – 5 times/day is so easy when have your phone always with you… ALWAYS! 😜

OK Boobsie & scuttish graifdiggah helped a lot…

  24. For the 2nd time in all my TSTO days I did not make it to the final prize. :-(. I did however use the last of my shovels/resources to gain as much act 1 prize currency so I got the low ‘donut’ price of 15 donuts.. I needed 1500 more and was not going to make that up in 5 hours when act 1 finished.. oh well, 15 donuts for Caveman Moe was a pretty decent deal. Bummer that I somehow missed it by 1500, but glad I was still able to access prize with donuts. Hopefully act 2 goes a bit better. I am generally a 3/4 hour tapper so not sure what happened.. maybe didn’t gain as much goodies in my escavations?

  25. EA you Bastids!
We need a classic Old Cranky Guy post with lots of ALL CAPS to let them have it!

  27. I’m probably not going to hit the right tone here. I bought and owned nothing to assist in era 1. I did get Moe’s cavern by just checking in every 4 hours most of the time (went camping this weekend and didn’t have reception/time to check in regularly). I am an intuitive problem solver and got several one shots (guessed the jewels with one shovel). Along with faithful tapping, success in finding jewels seems to be key.

  28. No bonuts, but I was able to get them in the end. Close, but still.

I want to see what premium items are coming in the next days/weeks, wouldn’t it be a nice addition to this site? No real spoilers, just so it’s easier to decide what to buy/what not to buy if you know What’s coming next.

  29. I’m not completely sure how I did it but I did catch up for the last era. I was a day behind for quite a lot of it, I think the turning point was last Thursday when I earnt a lot and had a daily challenge task that paid out 2000 fossils. I also spent out on the tree which has really helped. Otherwise I spent nothing else in terms of donuts. I completed the prize track on Saturday and didn’t bother pushing for bonuts. Just started saving shovels as I’d also finished the gem quests too.

  30. I got there in time, but my husband, starting 1½ day late, missed out on the last prize…
What I fear this time, is that the final prize is 10k more than last time, with pay outs being equal…

Though perhaps having a few more levels on the Panini Press will help with more stuff from excavations.

    • Yes, by the time you reach the end of Act 2, the panini press should help a lot.
However I believe players should be able to miss a day or two & still get the last prize, come on EA, lighten up !!!
