Homerpalooza 101: Fan Tapping Tips

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Hope you’ve got your dancing shoes on and your cell phones ready to light up the night because Homerpalooza has arrived in Springfield!  That’s right the rock fest has begun!

Let’s face it, my friends, this event’s tappables (the fans) are a royal PITA (Pain In The Arse) to find and clear.  Maybe we’ve all just gotten used to some method to “clear all” in a matter of seconds, but for whatever reason, they’re hard to find this time around.   Whether it be in your own town or a neighbor’s town…it just sucks.   So here are a few tips to help you find and clear those rock fans…

As a friendly reminder, the fans look like this…

And they tend to walk quicker than the regular Springfield characters

Tip #1:

Fans gather around the Rock Stage or other venues that host “Jam Sessions”.  You’ll see them congregate in front of the stage, in front of Moe’s or the Kiwk-E-Mart when there’s a jam session in progress.

(And yes this applies to the Simpson house as well, which you’ll unlock as the second prize)

So if you check in front of those areas (or put all three near each other) you’ll clear out a bunch.

Tip #2:

This also works in a neighbor’s town…

Tap on Weird Al.  He’ll start playing the accordion and fans will flock towards him and you can tap away.  Of course, this also involves trying to find Weird Al.

Tip #3:

Via the crafting menu….

CAUTION: BEFORE DOING THIS MAKE SURE YOUR TICKET COUNT IS LESS THAN THE REQUIRED AMOUNT TO LEVEL UP!  If it is more it’ll take your tickets to level up….so watch your ticket count! (and please don’t yell at me if you screw it up…I warned you)

If you open up your crafting menu and tap the GREEN button next to your level up bar (as long as you have FEWER tickets on hand than what’s required to level up)

You’ll get a popup telling you that you do not have enough tickets to complete the action:

If you tap the BLUE Do It Button it’ll take you to where a fan is in Springfield and you can tap away!

Do this repeatedly to clear the last remaining fans in your town.

AGAIN: DO NOT DO THIS IF YOUR TICKET COUNT IS HIGHER THAN WHAT’S REQUIRED TO LEVEL UP!  If you do it’ll just level you up.

And that’s it my friends.  A few quick tips to make finding fans in Springfield suck a little less….

What are your thoughts on the tips?  Have any other tips you can share? Doing ok finding the fans?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. This event is a B-. I took a thought of my rant on this event, and I realized… ‘Wow, I get upset over the littlest of things😆’. Even though this isn’t my favorite event, I still play it (my rule with events). I freaked out with Christmas 2016, calmed down, and kept playing. Spies, got upset, chilled(?), kept doing. Same with this event, and I made a lot of mistakes with my rant. I have REALLY got to fact check😂!

  2. Oh thank god im not the only one having trouble finding them!

  3. It’d help if you were dropped in your neighbour’s town at one of the venues. I have no idea where they’ve got their Moe’s and their Quik E Marts.

    • I moved my Simpson’s house over to the venue area…it’s a venue now anyway. Moe’s and the KEM are all there temporarily. At least my neighbors can land in the right area (although I guess the fans don’t floclk there for visitors like they normally do).

  4. WOW, did I read “Fan Tapping” wrong.
I really need to get off the internet for a while.

  5. Thank you. This is VERY helpful. Especially the “green button”, great catch! 🙂

  6. For some silly reason I thought you meant tips from addicts fans.

  7. OMG, thank you Alissa for the info, and the advice! I didn’t realize that tapping weird Al brings fans to him, that makes it so much easier! I went through and put all my unused characters on indoor tasks, which took forever, but that combined with tapping Al definitely makes a huge difference. And now I know I’m not going crazy, it really is only 10 neighbors that give you event currency. Which is a bunch of baloney, IMO. I’m still hoping EA changes that, because of all of my neighbors, only 3 of them have bothered to drop lawyers in my town. It makes it very slow going to get through the event. As always, I appreciate all you do to keep us informed and help us get through these events! 😁

    • You might have missed lawyers from other friends – they are hard to find, and they disappear after 4h without a trace. Can be a bit tricky when your friends are in a different time zone. 🙂

    • Instead of sending characters one at a time on a task, are you aware you can use the unemployment office to send all people at once to do tasks? Cuts down a lot of time.

  8. I seem to not be getting festival fan points from neighbors towns anymore. I just reached my friend points limit today and since then I haven’t gotten any points from friends towns?anyone else experiencing this?

    • As mentioned, you only get event currency for the first 30 taps. So if you’ve tapped over 30 fans (either 3 fans at 10 neighbours, 1 fan at 30 neighbours, or any combination in between), you won’t get any more event currency from visiting neighbours until your daily 30 neighbour fans resets 24 hours from when it started today.

  9. Is Al in town before you earn him?

  10. 🎸🐒 .

Stop by and we will make a movie in black and white . ( It won’t be a Disney movie . ) See ya bye . 👽

  11. Did anyone else get a notification about the event and something along the lines of 60 free donuts? I opened my town as soon as I saw the notification but didn’t receive any kind of announcement or dialog.

  12. Not sure where to put this my game went back to zero, any one else having server problems?

  13. I also send all of my remaining characters on ‘inside’ jobs. That way I don’t have a lot of characters moving around and it makes finding the tappables easier.

  14. Thanks Alissa, I’m glad I’m not the only one who was having problems finding them.

  15. Thanks Alissa,
Any help is appreciated with this, I swear I was just in a neighbour’s town for like 10 minutes trying to find a third fan

    🇬🇧😁

    • Don’t bother…if you’re having trouble finding fans in one town, just move to the next. You don’t have to do all three in one town, and taking fans doesn’t benefit your friends, so you can just move on whenever you rant.

I actually started using tapping fans a way for me to track which neighbors I was able to drop off lawyers and how many. For each lawyer I drop, I tap a fan.

  16. TIP #4
Look around and tap some fans while you slowly drop lawyers. It gets you to multiple areas of Springfield quickly.

  17. Hate Homerpalooza. It took 90 minutes to go thru 60 neighbors. What a PITA for sure. Guess I’ll just click on 10 neighbors a day. Worst update yet and I’ve been playing 5 years

  18. Hmm. Why are the lawyers male? Or are we females just good for stumbling around drunk and shaking our money makers? (Insert ducking emoji here)😂

  19. I noticed that my fans gather around the crowd of fans too. I put some by Mozart on my boardwalk (B game) and a whole load rushed over there. I did the same thing in my A game. Worked the same way. Made me laugh too….💜X

    • what is A game and B game? Does that refer to Weird Al jobs and Jam Jobs?

      • KYLE – I play two games. Set up a second (B) game because my nephew & niece wanted to neighbour visit but didn’t want strangers seeing their games😂.They were very young! I just continue to play it for my niece. My nephew abandoned his game complaining that it took too long to get ‘stuff’ as he put it. I lost him to Call of Duty, Grand Theft, Creed & countless other games I don’t understand😂. My niece left too saying Sims was better but now she’s back and obsessed with the monorail and XP collider….💜X

      • A lot of people play more than one game. For most people the A game is the biggest with the most donuts sunken in to and the B game is smaller and might be all or mostly freemium and at a lower level. And sometimes not! Some A & B games are both crazy huge premium towns but with different designs, for the love of design!

      • You have to log in each game with a different Gmail account and a different character name . That’s how you can get as many games as you want .

        🎬🎥🔫🐒 . See ya bye . 👽

    • Opens a whole new game …where to place the crowds today? 🤔
The Town Hall (angry crowd), Burn’s Estate (angry again), the strip joint (happy crowd…or not, depending on how religeous they are), or just hanging around the tailgating party…lots of choices…hmmmm, think I’ll go buy a couple more😁.

      • I love them so much. I’ve put some in front of the Duff tent to look like they’re waiting to buy drinks at the bar and bopping at the same time. Such a cool addition to the game😎….X

      • With those fans and all the Duff stuff, my tailgating party will get extended again, for sure. Party on!

  20. Bring on the Halloween hoard… we have crowds make them zombies ♡

  21. I know there is probably a post coming, but…….I want to better understand how to level up characters in the jams. There doesn’t appear to be any logic. I have all the characters I need plus one to fill all of the spots. Is there a trick to placing the characters? Does it even matter? How do you ensure that a character is going to level up, or is it automatic?

    • Believe it or not Safi (the master tactition) is writing the jam session post. So you know it’ll be full of strategy.
But each session is 5 points to level up. Each half star of level up is 80 points. Full star 160.
Better to have higher star players in bonus spots

      • Hi Alissa,

Are you sure about this? That’s what I though at first, but the points seem to be the same no matter the order as long as the characters involved are the same. I think the bonus may be the same no matter the character in the last spot. My characters are all currently jamming, so I can’t double check, but I think the bonus may be something like 50 points.

        • Honestly, I don’t know anymore. I believe it’s a 75 point bonus on top of what the character earns though. I can’t check right now because they’re all jamming in my A game and my B game has everyone fully leveled up.

          • you keep saying A game and B game. What is the difference?

            • Different games….i currently have 5 different Springfield’s all for various forms of testing. A game is my main game that I play just like you guys. B game is my game i spend a lot of money in to rush everything (quests, prize tracks etc) for this site. C, D & E games are all at various low levels and used for testing purposes (like if I need to see if a premium item has returned or not, or if I need to see how a player at level 15 would view an event)

          • wow! you aren’t playing around! i see how you have all the answers now. Thank you for your response!

          • Hi, I took notice of it, if I put BGM to the last spot, he earns me 112, if he is in another spot, its 62. If I put for example reverend in the last spot, he earns be 75 instead of 25 in another spot, so I think the bonus is 50 no matter the order, just as long the spots are all filled.

          • I’m confused on this as well. I’ve sent everyone to Jam every four hours and even rushed a few times, spending a good amount of sprinkles, to see if the star value went up…..mine hasn’t. I’m still at one star on almost everyone except two who have one and a half stars.
Can’t wait to read Safi’s strategy on this.

          • Thanks Patric!

  22. Still can’t put roadways on the newly opened land?
Thanks for the tips about tapping the fans. I don’t seem to be getting
    a lot of fans yet.

  23. I love tip #3. Thank you.

  24. Just a suggestion…if you have neighbors with low scores, be a good neighbor and leave your lawyers there instead of neighbors with higher scores. Lots of tappers are struggling…if we all focus on our neighbors who need help, we can make up for them losing a day’s play or not being able to afford premium players…but, it’s up to you…😉

    • Good idea & I did that but none of them collected or reciprocated. I even think some have given up on the update already as their totals haven’t shifted much. They’d at least have 1,000+ with the daily tasks by now. Sorry but I’ll be dropping on other Addicts and my good neighbours…..💜X

      • I noticed that, too…with anyone with under 3,000 points, I checked when they last played…if it was over 24 hrs ago, I’m not leaving lawyers there. Thanks for giving it a shot, tho😊.

      • I agree too. But I also realized this; since lawyers are lost after being in a town for four hours, and if my neighbor is in a different time zone, we are probably missing each other’s lawyers. No way to tell who lives where so when I see a lawyer in my town, I immediately go to that neighbors town and drop as many as they sent me or more if I see they could use more help.
        I love a good neighbor!

        • BRYSON – I’ve had the majority of my neighbours for years and years. Long enough to know their time zones. That’s been taken into account….

          • What a good neighbor👍

            • Thx. Over at Friends, Patric set up a map and we could pin our locations, so we could see how far and wide players were. That helped loads. I’ve still got all of those neighbours☺️X

      • Been rethinking my plan…none of my low scorers have picked up their lawyers (maybe they just aren’t playing that much)… guess I’ll go to your plan of reciprocating…too bad, I guess no good deed goes unpunished😜.

        • 😂. Best way to go. Once I get to the end then I tend to go thru the list & help those in need. By then I’ve hidden the non players.☺️X

    • The only issue is you cannot see your score from inside their town. I try and distribute my Lawyers as fairly as possible and save as many up throughout they day. Its still a good suggestion though.

      • To see everybodies scores, hit the neighbor button again when you’re in a town. Then you can swipe thru to see how everybody is doing. From there, you can tap on any town to enter it.😊

    • Hard to do with about 90 neighbours, and most of them below par – plus, I suspect some of them are just very casual players, and won’t benefit from my lawyers. My method of choice so far has been to give back – if I happen to find a lawyer, I head over to that neighbour and drop some as well. Doesn’t always work out, though, but I also suspect most of my neighbours don’t keep the same hours I do. No idea where most of them come from.

      • Yup…had to switch to reciprocating…wasn’t getting any pickups.
I now go to my neighbor’s town as soon as I tap their lawyer (if I have any lawyers to give…I have more neighbors than lawyers earned). At least I know that they’re currently in the game and can see that I dropped one for them. Seems to be working a lot better.

  25. Robert P Ferris

I haven’t seen this in a cursory glance over the Homerpalooza posts, but a tip about the Jam sessions. Fill up Kwik-E-Mart and Moe’s first. Using 4 characters there (2 at each) will net you 200 cuffs vs filling the stage with all four getting you 150. Then use whichever character is left to solo on the stage.

  26. Ydouneedtoknow

Kind of random but does anyone else think the female fan looks like a Simpson’s version of Alissa’s character from the banner above?

  27. The rock fans I don’t have a problem with, it’s finding those pesky lawyers……..weasels!

  28. What doesn’t help is the crowd of people you can craft with your tickets. I placed the crowd in my town and sometimes I go to tap it. Also when you tap the crowd they change formations. Great tips to tap the fans though.

    • I love those crowds! I have a feeling that a lot of my crafting currency is going to go to those. I hope there ends up being several different “editions” of crowds.

But, yeah – they do make it a little harder to tap fans.

  29. Thank so much for these tips! I’m not finding it too hard to find them as Weird Al sticks around the centre of my town. The only thing that annoys me is those Lawyers the amount of times I have clicked Blue Haired Lawyer mistaking him for them. Love my neighbours but if they keep sending lawsuits I’m going to sue :D. However I do really love the Neighbour interaction and how they can help you out a bit.

    • LEGODUDE- I keep tapping Ike😂….💜X

      • Ike, Blue Haired Lawyer and Declan Desmond get bopped on the head a lot. I half expect lawsuits from them… 😉

        • 🤣🤣🤣. Oh and when I neighbour visit or play the Maggie game I get hyper because I spot so many lawyers and try to tap them, grumbling to myself that they should be clearing….meanwhile Maggie’s timer is running down😂😂X

  30. Great tip with the crafting menu! Thank you so much!

    • Yes Alissa has a bag full of TSTO tricks. Always very helpful.

      • Hey there…haven’t heard much from you recently…all ok?

        • I’m fine, only my cat Nermal got run over by a car 😭😭😭

          • So sorry to hear that! My condolences, may she rest in cat-heaven.

          • I’m so sorry, they really become part of the family and their loss is just as devastating. I used to be part of a rescue organization and we ended up with 6 cats who were un-adoptable (no tail, too shy, various illnesses). All have now reached 16 and 17 years of age and we have had to put down 3 this year…such a tough decision, but they were suffering. Soooo, I feel your loss…take care😘

            • His predecessor, Costnix, came to the right old age of 19 and died in his sleep. He was pestered by Nermal, but did his best to teach the cat manners. I miss them both. It is so quiet in my house
I will go the the animal rescue center to have cat choose for me. To get on TSTO topic, I will name him/her Snowball.

          • Oh, that’s awful! So sorry to hear that. 🙁
