Returning Content, Magic Monorail, Possible Halloween Teaser?!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So this morning saw a few things happen in our Springfield’s….

First, you may have noticed a few limited-time changes with our Monorails.  Second, there’s a new Magic Monorail Station in our stores.  Third, a bunch of mini-events you may have missed have relaunched and you have a chance to start them.  And fourth, it looks like we may have a little Halloween Teaser.

What do I mean?  How does it work?  Let’s take a look….

Let’s work in a mixed around order….starting with the return of mini events.

For those that are newer to TSTO and have asked for stuff to come back, now it has!  Yes, they may stack up with each other. And yes, you may have multiple things to work through at once.  Unfortunately, that’s the breaks of missing it the first time. EA brought the mini events back, but you’ll have to work through multiples at a time.  And it’s just because it’s all returning content.  They wouldn’t just bring back mini events without some level of new content for those who played through them all.  Otherwise, those players that already finished those events wouldn’t play…make sense?

Some of you may be missing some of the mini events, or don’t have any trigger.  Personally, in one of my games (lower level), I didn’t have any trigger this time around.  But in another lower level game, I had 2 events trigger (Homer the Heretic and Pin Pals).  I think the failure to trigger is a result of if the mini event was at all launched in that game at one point or another.

For example: in my first lower level game (where nothing triggered), I had at one point or another started all of the mini events.  While I didn’t complete them, I did start them.  And I think that’s why they didn’t trigger for me.

In my other lower level game (where Homer the Heretic and Pin Pals triggered), I triggered some mini events but not others.  Never completed them, but triggered a few.

So I think that’s what’s causing some to trigger and some not to trigger.  Of course, this is my speculation and I couldn’t be totally wrong.

For info on the mini events, including walkthroughs and SIBs, check out this page: https://tstoaddicts.com/events/

Now let’s jump to the Monorail itself….

It looks like between now and Monday you’ll be able to earn double Blueprints when completing the Rail Yard.  This is a good chance to earn some more track and bonuts!

Now onto the Magic Station and some returning content in our stores…

For 80 donuts you can pick up the Magic Station, another Monorail station for Springfield.

I will have a SIB post for this up later today breaking it 100% down like we always do, but for now know that while I think this may come into play for Halloween I don’t think it’s critical for Halloween.  You’ll survive just fine without it if you don’t need another Monorail Station.  EA wouldn’t release something critical for the next event as a premium item…keep that in mind.

There are also a TON of returning premium items in our stores from the past Monorail Event.  I’ll do my traditional SIB Returning stuff breakdown as well.  But you can find SIB posts on just about every returning item on this site by using the search box on this page.

And finally…a Halloween Teaser.  This popup box…

Preceded by the dialogue from the episode tie-in talking about Angelica Button makes me think (as well as some of you I’m sure) we’ll see a Magic-themed Halloween Event this year. (Sam, try not to pass out…)

So we shall see what happens next week…

Remember…I think Halloween will hit on October 3rd, next Tuesday.

And that’s it my friends…let your speculation hearts run wild! Sound off below with your thoughts on the new content, the old content and the future content…

  1. Regarding the re edition mini event for NARA: When I purchased Barney with his bowling alley, the space shuttle item disappeared as a purchasable item. Is this a glitch? I’d like the shuttle aswell. It’s not in my items either. Any help or ideas? Thx;p

    • The same thing happened to me. I think that the shuttle actually stayed a few hours after I bought Barney and maybe disappeared once I finished part of the quest. I do wish I could do more than one mini event at a time. I hope I can finish Deep Space Homer and at least start on a second one before they stop. I was hoping that they’d trigger one a day for me given that I only started playing in June and didn’t do any of the mini events.

  2. Why are people getting all these old mini-events? I have never played even a bit of Honer Heretic, Deep Space Homer, Pin Pals or the chili thing. In fact, my game was deleted at the time. I created my account a bit over a year ago, so the events did pass by if that effects anything.

Anyway, is there a way to trigger them? Do they have requirements in order to trigger? Please help

  3. Is there any information about how long the re-started mini-events last? Even though ‘Homer the Heretic’ started in my b-game somewhere in the middle (I guess that’s where I left off before), there’s no way I can finish this til next week. If it will end before Halloween starts, I won’t bother with it.

  4. Anyone know which mini events have returned? Deep space homer is the only one that started for me, but I feel like there must be more I missed out on because I’ve only been playing for about a year.

    • I heard it was deep space
      Homers chiliad
      Crook and ladder
      Homer the heretic
      And
      Pin pals
I only got deep space though
I hope the others activate after I finish

  5. Hmmm not getting multiple rounds of rail yard donuts, guess that glitch isn’t gonna be mine -sniff- but otherwise getting excited for halloween!

  6. I only have the deep space homer mini event triggered.

  7. So I finished the blueprints collection before this update came, and now I can’t collect anymore. Feels like I’m left behind here. And what are all these minigames everyone is talking about? I had nothing except this smelling tower and that was it. 🙁

  8. No blueprints for me, but I’ve got the chili event.

  9. I wish the mini events would retrigger if you started them without finishing them on the first go. There was one I didn’t get through and would have been nice to complete it.

  10. Hmm, just finished my monorail build for the week and it let me do round two. Crud, I’m not sure how many donuts I had..
not sure if good or bad 🙂

    • Sooo, now I read the comments below. Every time I don’t read up, I get reminded to come here and learn a few things.
Is the rail station bonuts coming up just for people who don’t have any mini events to do?

      • I have neither mini-events, nor the ability to do the railyard challenge again. 🙁

      • It is a weekly returning event. You get 5 bonuts on completion of the five monorail tasks.

        • What five monorail tasks?

Normally, we have the ability to earn five donuts for earning 25,000 blueprints in a week. Once you earn them, you can’t cash in recyclables to eat blueprints until the next Tuesday, when the blueprint counter returns this zero. However, right now, some of us are able to compete multiple rounds of earning 25,000 blueprints to get 5 donuts…as soon as we compete one round, the counter resets to zero, without having to wait for next Tuesday. I think the OP was asking why it appears that some folks have this ability this week, while others don’t, and whether it was related to whether or not they had any returning mini-events to do.

          • My guess…is that it is a glitch. There really isn’t any logical reason that one person would have it, and another wouldn’t. I haven’t seen it…but, I also haven’t completed my cycle yet. So…keep us posted!

            • I’m already into my third round..but I think I saw people posting about having done four or five already. I guess I’ll just keep going until something else to do in the game shows up (or until I get tired of it)…I don’t really need the bonuts (especially for this much “work”), but I haven’t missed competing a rail yard week yet and it just feels like this one won’t be “complete” until they shut me off, lol!

          • By five monorail tasks, I believe Rudolph is referring to the track pieces awarded at 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k, and then 25k along with the bonuts for this “fifth task”.

    • Not a glitch. No one else got an in-game pop up message about the double donuts until 10/2?

  11. deep space homer started for me too and it doesn’t seem to be time limited

  12. The Mechanical Ants seem to have increased in price. I thought they were 60 donuts for all 4 before from a previous ‘should I buy’ post, or were they 60 donuts per ant…

  13. No other mini events triggered for me, did i do em all? i dunno. But my Monorail Blueprints keeps resetting, i’m on my 3rd reset now and it seems to keep going….. Wohooo Bonuts here i come

  14. Picked up Jesse Grass for 80 donuts with rebate to help with the Monorail. In the past, i often skipped the weekly Railyard 5 donuts, since it was too much grinding for metal for my taste. I recently picked up Brandine and now Jesse, their extra metal (and even just collecting the basic junk) really sped things up for me. Thanks to double blueprints, i am on the third round for donuts this week by now.

    • MydadlookslikeFlanders

I couldn’t hold out and sent Brandine on her “birth a Spuckler” Three month task, so I can’t use her for the monorail or anything. I am considering using donuts to speed up the birthing process. It is only 29 donuts to birth it now only three days or so days after starting the task

      • Yes, I believe it cost 30 donuts to speed up the 90 day task, and drops one donut for every three gestational days that elapse. Personally I waited the full 270 days for all three of my Spuckler kids. But to each their own.

      • You won’t make back that many donuts by completing rail yard tasks faster with her. Not worth it.

      • You could spending donuts on Birth a Spuckler until she is really necessary for a task. EA has sped up a birth once for free in my Springfield.

  15. Warning: I was excited to buy Ray Patterson, the trash guy, for 60 donuts, but it turns out he’s not a premium character. I didn’t even know that was possible. It’s kind of a rip off.

    • Actually, he comes in handy once in a while. During the major events, he helps collect trash. He is the only character left to collect trash if Homer is on a task and everyone else is collecting recyclables.

    • If my memory serves me correct, he was free (won him) in an event. So the price of a returning character costs donuts. It’s up to you if u want to spend.

    • I missed out Ray on the prize track during the monorail event because I was away for 2 weeks and couldn’t find the time to grind the blueprints necessary. So even if he’s just a regular character, 60 donuts is an OK price.

  16. I bought the Magic Station and the Krusty one because I missed Krusty before and wanted it. Since I was already buying one, picking up the other seemed like a no-brainer. I took a long break from Tapped Out so I’m glad some of these items and events have repeated.

  17. I have Homer’s Chiliad. I didn’t know what was happening since I was on like part 3. Glad you guys are around because I would have been so lost!

  18. Does this mean we’ll get Vincent Price’s Egg MAGIC … probably not, that’s more like an Easter thing :p

  19. Question about the mini event…. my hubby just had space homer mini event started in his game… will it be time restricted? Or he can relax and send the “leftover” characters there to complete it?

    • I would suggest get cracking on it. If you don’t already have Astronaut Homer, it’s one of the best skins in the game as it allows Homer a 6-second task that earns as much as a half-hour one.

  20. Now, what about the interesting text that you can read if you click on “i” icon near the magic train station in the store? It reads: “These items are just the ticket! Get it while we tell you it’s hot!”… What if this station will make event currency and help get prizes? I wouldn’t want to miss that… And if it only makes some stupid crafting currency, I can live without it. But the station looks cool as hell. I am for the first time on the fence… Most likely will not buy, because stuff returns later. _________ Also, this same line you can read on the vault: Get it while we tell you it’s hot! And I am not that excited about this week’s items: knight boat, hot dog stand, Museum of Natural History, Duff Stadium.

    • Knightboat is a good deal if you’re looking to up your XP bonus (although I think the Inanimate Carbon Rod Statue is an even better one, but only if Deep Space Homer was triggered in your game!).

I’m with you on the fence re:Magic Monorail Station, though. Good thing we have a couple days to think about it…

  21. I got the Deep Space Mini-Event which I have wanted for so long as I missed it and in the store the Bowlorama + Barney are 120 Donuts!!! But I’m not sure how long this is going to last. Is it until the 2nd of October?

    • Most likely it is longer than 2 of October, but I would like somebody of the old players to confirm. Thank you

    • Dunno, but I got the same ‘event’ to pop up for me. Since I didn’t have Barney yet it was already a sweet deal, but then they went and sweetened the pot by throwing in his astronaut costume as well which… Just couldn’t resist.

  22. I didn’t finish the Rommelwood academy event on one of my games, but it re-started from where i “left” – so Alissas guess cannot be correct…

  23. Darn, I was around for the mini events so I won’t get another shot at items I didn’t have enough donuts at the time. Hopes heightened and then dashed. *Sigh*

  24. The NARA Event just popped up for me.

  25. If Halloween starts on my birthday, I’ll be more than pleased!!

  26. I wish the track pieces that we get from trading in junk would give more straight tracks. I have 4 straights and 71 right angle tracks. What’s up with that EA? Why does it pay out so many corner tracks? I have to make my track all wonky looking.

    • Boohoo, poor me! I have 356 curves, 345 S-curves and 435 half straight tracks in my inventory
(Having the monorail 🚝 from the very start of of it).

    • It is a standard situation for everyone. To keep you interested. Don’t worry, I have 400 each in inventory and you will with time. Patience my friend

  27. I finished monorail stuff Tuesday morning so guess no bonus stuff for me 😦 stuff in shop but don’t think I want any cuz so close to Halloween wanted to save donuts.. No mini events for me but maybe cuz always finished when have them.. My mums game started space homer event she never finished 😃

  28. BellyShirtBrandine

What’s everyone’s opinions on Jesse with a 20 donut rebate? Thinking about pulling the trigger but with Halloween starting….

    • If you have ever needed help with the monorail particularly during events then he is very helpful. I also like his cow costume, it makes me giggle.

    • Insta-buy!

    • I would say get him if you need help with the monorail during the events. The faster I can be done with the monorail for the week the better for me, specially during events I log in enough as it is!! I picked him up myself today.

    • I picked him up almost immediately when I saw the rebate. I almost picked him up full price a while back, but I waited and hoped he would go on sale. Extra collectors come in handy when the main ones are on event tasks.

    • You’ll make Lisa happy! 🙂

He’s got some good animations, but, if you don’t bother with rail yard tasks, and you’re big into Halloween (and don’t care about making Lisa happy), then you might want to pass. I do the rail yard tasks faithfully every week (and I love Lisa), so I’m very happy I got him.

  29. Is there any rhyme or reason as to why some people are able to repeat their weekly monorail stuff for additional bonuts and some can’t?

  30. None of the mini events have popped up just yet.
