Some of you may have seen a notification in your game yesterday about a new secure login going into effect tomorrow. Some of you (like me) may not have seen the notification. So here it is again, straight from EA’s TSTO Facebook Page:
So basically tomorrow your game will log you out (as long as you play on an EA account). When that happens, simply log back into your game. You won’t need to do anything else.
If you play on an anonymous account you won’t need to do anything…but if you’re playing on an anonymous account I once again HIGHLY recommend creating an account for your game to save your progress. It’s just a smart move.
Also, some are speculating this may help the Rollback glitch. Honestly, I have no idea if it will or won’t. But it is becoming such a problem these days I really hope it gets fixed….
And based on the fact it appears the rollback glitch/bug is related to where your game is saved on the server, I’m really hoping this is their attempt to fix it. But we shall see what happens tomorrow….
I just logged out, then logged back in and – so far – no problems (yep, I understand if a fellow Tapper wants to remain anonymous, but do yourself a favor and create an Origin / EA Account … it wouldn’t hurt in case you have to contact Tech Support). 😎
well, they want me to login to a game? For security? I’ve been looking for a reason to swear off this thing once and for all. Makes it easy since I can’t remember my login.
It finally logged me out today (Wednesday), and now I have to log back in every time I open the game starting with keying in my age and checking the I agree box. I have an Origin ID, plenty of space on my phone, I’ve gone back and forth to Krustyland and to the sample Springfield, and I’ve hard closed my phone. I tried contacting EA with their help form, but it wouldn’t let me click the “submit” button. I guess if I get desperate, I’ll have to uninstall and reinstall. ~sigh~
Still no update
Maybe they decided it would be safer to wait until the event is over? Didn’t happen here either on Tuesday May 7.
The event ended 10 minutes ago, but no secure login.
The sun is over the yardarm somewhere.
Just shy of 11pm Pacific time. Two hours until the ‘day ends’ here. Another couple hours afterwards until the days ends EVERYWHERE.

Been waiting all day to be logged out of my game…but it has not happened yet. ????

When I die I’m going to request programmers from EA as my pallbearers! So they can let me down one last time.

UK – been playing all day still not logged out, wonder if it will happen or they have found a problem. Perhaps the update is sponsored by TSB.
2:30pm on the east side of the US and still no “auto log out update”…I really hope this is the glitch update those of us infected with have been hoping for…lets go EA…fix it!
Well my game logs me out on a daily (oftentimes hourly) basis so nothing new
Anyone knows why this happens so much to me?
I have the same problem it’s been driving me nuts to the point where I’m just over it.
Perhaps check your messages in settings to see if your pictures/gifs/stickers sent and received have piled up the the point of eating a lot of space. I had to clear that up and I fixed a storage problem I had.
Just home from work and expected to be logged out but havent, when’s this supposed to happen, don’t have the glitch and speculating that the vault is on a different server!!!
5 Bucks says this gives everybody the rollback glitch…lol…but seriously I’m gonna be sweating tomorrow when this hits…
In that case the glitch/bug has become a feature 🙁

2) Implementation on last day of event? Seems like a not-thought-through-plan, EA.
3) May the 4th and no content? I know characters are trademarked, but how about Java the Hut or Teenage Wasteland, or Lisa with Leia buns? The list goes on and on.

Oh my, with EA’s past record this new “system” could potentially unleash a spawn of Satan by the likes we’ve never seen. Be afraid, be very afraid.
I had hoped it was a fix for the glitch, but reading it now I think this GDPR related. The European law on data privacy comes into effect on May 25th.
Since I was hit forthe 15th time with the THE GLITCH…I was on the phone with EA to get another rollback and got a very knowledgeable and helpful rep (which made for a nice change). When I asked if this security update would address anything with the glitch….he looked at his internal notes on the update….and said it appears not as there is nothing in the internal notes that this will address anything but the back end security platform.

Sure was hoping this would be the rollback glitch fix – but I won’t hold my breath.

Since I’m in rollback glitch purgatory….. anything which MIGHT help is welcome.
This is a good time to actually logout and log back in to ensure you haven’t forgotten your password. Since today is still a “normal day”, in terms of gameplay, you could perform a “forgot password” and all that jazz and be ready for tomorrow.
Also worth noting, I just did this myself and noticed a minor issue. I went to the friend’s town view and came back to my game thus forcing the synchronization. I then quit the game. On my iPhone, I swiped-up and physically closed the game. I restarted the game and logged-in. However, I immediately got the “your game didn’t synch on your other device” warning. Knowing I just did that, I wasn’t worried.
Just food for thought here that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to prepare yourself for tomorrow. With the forced-logout and presumable software update, it’s possible there could be delays or glitches so I just wanted to be prepared.
Hope it doesn’t cause problems for the people who aren’t having problems.

I know I am just wishing I was naive enough the hope this helps fix THE GLITCH…..but I am not…..as I was hit this morning with this Glitch for the 15th time in the last 11 months.
Only 15? I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve gotten all those glitchy messages. Idk but I’m not feeling very confident in EA right now.
