Addicts Want to Know: Itchy and Scratchy Land Event Poll

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Happy Saturday!  Hope everyone is gearing up for a nice weekend ahead, I know I am!  A little r&r never hurt anyone, right?

Anyway, seeing LOADS of conflicting comments over the latest event to hit TSTO.  Some of you love it, some of you hate it and some of you are so pissed you’re quitting TSTO altogether.

Now, I know often times the most vocal about something are the ones who aren’t happy with it.  And those who are happy are generally the ones who stay silent.  So I thought why not do a little poll.  This way no one has to know who’s saying what, and we can get a feel for what the community in general thinks.  So please take a minute to answer the poll questions below…

Thanks!

And one more…

  1. I quite like having krustyland etc in my main Springfield, not so keen on more random npc’s floating around but hey, can live with it. What I HATE is the way that roads etc can now be moved / grouped with buildings as this has mad the game on my device virtually unplayable if I want to group and move /store or sell a bunch of stuff unless I delete the roads or pavements first. Can take up to 2 minutes to unfreeze after grouping and same again to place again. Would love that ‘feature’ turned off! Also means doing things like moving a bunch of fences on the boardwalk is impossible as boardwalk moves too, so now have to go back to the old way of moving everything one item at a time 🙁

    • Just deselect, in the edit screen, where you “close the eye” to make things transparent – anything transparent doesn’t get selected in the group. It also cuts down on lag (a little bit)

    • You’re right. They totally screwed up the grouping function. One time to move Krustyland rides would’ve been enough, but seriously, who needs to keep the roads and rivers etc. intact? The building and decoration groupings are sufficient. Change it back EA!

      • Like the move function, just deselect what your don’t want (roads, monorail, etc) to group together.

  2. This is the first event I’ve actually been excited to play in a while! I loved building my Krustyland and was hoping for a new event. Didn’t mind going there to visit, I actually would have preferred to build on it there rather than put it in my town. It’s going to take up a lot of space! Overall I’m loving it so far, though. Can’t wait to get all of the things!

  3. I’m looking at the poll results. It would appear that most people didn’t like the old Krustyland, and either love or like the new concept, and yet there are soooooo many negative postings about the event. People are fickle.

    • thats normal, people always write more comments when they have something to camplain about

  4. Would have preferred if the just move the whole thing to SH or east next to the mountains. But then they wouldn’t have the cool nuke. Maybe a teleport and nuke option. But I am greedy, I wanted more land tiles (even if I had to buy them).

Plan to make a studio park in at least one of my towns. Maybe incorporate a Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun themes.

  5. Krustyland is okay and it’s easier to get to visit when it’s part of Springfield. I do have a bit of an annoyance with the blowing up of Krustyland and adding it to my Springfield, however. I’m a bit OCD, so when I add land to my Springfield I tend to expand in complete rows and columns and adjust out. When given “free” expansion space to rebuild my Krustyland in Springfield I did what I always do and added rows and columns. That left me with a big problem! Now when I want to expand I’m stuck with a large number of spaces that are LOCKED until I have a “free” tile to open them. Apparently EA decided which spaces were set aside for Krustyland and they weren’t contiguous. If I had actually expanded that way I’d have had a really big mess, unless I moved large portions of my existing Springfield to accommodate my Krustyland. It’s going to be an issue when I expand Itchy & Scratchyland or any future expansions I may need. Now what? If it’s not corrected this may mean storing everything I earn until I have free-gift tiles to unlock those spaces.

    • I guess it depends on which land you’ve previously obtained. I was able to put all my free-token land together in coherent columns/rows as you describe, and I had bought all KL land.

  6. After finally deciding where to put KL and basically what to do with it, I’m OK with everything going on in this event.

  7. didnt like the prizes

  8. I’m OK that the they nuked Krustyland. I only went to play Sideshow You for the eventual donuts. I’m just not sure how I’m feeling about Itchy & Scratchy Land yet. I don’t really think I want an amusement park in my Springfield. We will have to see if the content gets any better. Right now…meh.

  9. It’s all going to end up in storage, I have no use for the huge footprint this is gonna leave. Only used K-Land when I absolutely had to, if the daily prize is anything less then 3 🍩 I don’t play. That being said I’m not going anywhere, still gonna log in every 4hrs and do my tapping, and wait for the next event.

  10. I chose something else. My KL was finished and I loved it. I have a massive theme park in my SF, so I’ve been incorporating KL and I&S stuff into it. But I keep getting the darn item limit warning.

I’ve been listening to the podcast and I realized – I’m a plopper. Eep! So I’m reorganizing, decorating, and perfecting. About half of my town looks great, time to go fix the other half. I know some people complain about the down time, but I like it.

And thank you for all the information! If I’d nuked KL without group saving first, I’d be so miserable trying to recreate all the designs. I’m not redoing KL exactly, but a lot of the individual attractions are the same.

  11. Could care less about Krusty land but am tired of this build for bonus format. Really want an event where I interact more with neighbors

  12. I didn’t like KL. Uber glad its gone, but I didn’t want it in my game either. There was a third option, that we didn’t have to include it in our games at all, but i just realized that. Maybe nobody else realizes that too? Would love a post on the consequences of just storing/selling everything we can from KL. Glad to get rid of some of those cheap decorations. They were tacky. I really hate my storage and store being clogged up with extra pieces now. I hate KL tasks clogging up my character job options for the rare times i have to set by hand. What i am happy about is zero screen changes, and still having the balloon popping game.

I think the biggest problem (totally hate to admit this, because i love all the mass of new characters that came in. PlEAse always make it like that, EA,) is that the whole sudden onslaught of game changes, happened all at once.

I bought every single character i could, and both sets of mystery boxes. That part was awesome, plEAse keep that coming for every event EA. Yet, with all the new characters, plus the sudden onslaught of tourists that make figuring out who to tap, infinitely more difficult and time consuming, plus rebuilding KL in our town, plus doing all the character jobs, plus tapoing who we are supposed to tap for the prize track, plus even with the supposed item increases that apparently should have our games be manageable, did nada to stop the sudden influx of stuff from creating massive drag in maneuverability in my town, i hit massive overwhelm in an incredibly short period of time. Im lucky enough to be advanced enough in the game, plus a KEM farmer, plus picked up on the chance to save donuts, anc i chose to pretty much had to buy my way through the first act. It was the only way to get a handle on things. First and only time i ever did that. But i needed it, it was just too much big stuff all at once. I also suddenly had to erase a bunch of houses i wanted far more than the KL stuff, so its overwhelming, when i just should be happy at getting all the new mystery boxes and characters! Feel very much for people still working super hard or long for all their donuts. Understand why they are angry.

    Suggestions to fix:

    1. Code “glue” all the visitors from KL who give tickets to the gate, with an option to store them all period, for those of us who don’t want them wandering our Springfields. Over 200 characters is enough. I don’t want excess np characters or their tickets. I literally get dizzy looking at my screen now. I want the excess walkers, gone. This will also make it easier to find who we are supposed to tap.

    2. Put the auto finder for tappable tourist up much closer for the remaining acts. There is just too much to do right now in our games, everybody needs a break right now from the confusion and onslaught. Having auto finder sooner, like noemal or even faster, would make things much more maneageable. EA went back to their old system timing of auto tappables, and its just too long right now.

    3. Adding in the KL change would have gone over much better i think, if the timing was changed. Given to us a few days after the 3rd act started, when we are bored, would have been incredibly exciting, as opposed to incredibly overwhelming.

I can see why you thought this event would be super exciting. It is, its just too much work all at once, and I’m far from decorating like some super decorators do. Perhaps a couple extra weeks would have been useful?

Otherwise, mystery boxes, getting rid of KL, tons of new characters and access to old? Still loving TSTO And all the work you here, all do! Thank you Alyssa and friends for hanging in there. Super happy for this site. Youve helped a ton of people over the years, I’m sure!

    Have a great day!

There are no poll questions listed?? Just advertisements? I would add a picture but don’t know how to do that unfortunately.

    • Try refreshing they may not have loaded

      • TallSpiderCandy

I tried that, even restarted my phone to see if that helped but still only see two advertisements and no questions : (

        • TallSpiderCandy

          Got it to work ☺
I liked KL but am happy not to travel back and forth. Looking forward to this event and enjoying it so far ☺ long-time player, can’t see me not being around until they end the game honestly. I of course like some events better than others but no event nor content has ever inspired me to quit. I even survived the rollback glitch among other issues. Love this game and play daily, thanks EA!! Thank you Addicts for all of your hard work and advice which makes this game so much more enjoyable!! Have a lovely day!! ☺

    • Tapped out is still the best free game and I continue to enjoy the art, too! KEM farming must wait. Need to keep characters grinding for donuts and foam knives. So glad I kept Sven Golly 4 hour tasks for nearly all the adults to pay out at premium rate! EA will repair the lag…
I do too enjoy the TSTO teams postings! Thank you very much for your guidance! And Patric must admit to himself as I have done that we are addicted to this game and love it !

  14. My ‘something else’ in the poll: I didn’t like krustyland, I dislike that some parts of it (like the visitors) are now in my Springfield. I dislike Itchy & Scratchy and I don’t want them, or their themepark, in my Springfield. But I don’t ‘hate’ it, I just ignore it and see what I can store after this event is over. I think it’s a very boring event, but I hardly play it, and I’m not interested in the prizes or crafting.

  15. 1tippietippie

I’m loving this event! I’m an amusement park fan, and am enjoying building an even bigger and better version right in my own Springfield. The crafting items are cool.. not just useless decorations that you end up storing, but rides that you can build yourself. Good job, EA! My only one complaint (that I seem to always mention on my posts because it’s truly impacting the enjoyment of the game) is the item limits. It’s great that EA raised them, but not enough. I have deforested much of my forests, pulled up many flower beds, thrown away fences and have taken down a lot of my monorail track just so I can continue to play. There’s so much that I want to do to my new amusement park, but can’t because of the item limits. But, overall, I’m quite the happy camper. 😁

    • Your only complaint is the same as mine.
I have seen you park area and it is huge. I am keeping Krustlyland separate and have spent all day redesigning it. It’s a bit smaller than the old one so that i don’t have it looking bare as I don’t want to put too much stuff out.
I have made up for it with a huge car park which I am quite proud of!!

    • Hi 1Tippietippie,

I love how you have designed your amusement park area.
I like how you have placed the highway, i’m not sure how to work mine in yet.

Last night I got the “congratulations, you have placed the maximum amount of buildings and decorations” message, so currently I cannot place anything until I clear items away. 🙁

But there is nothing that I want to place away

I have already taken away fences (that are hidden behind houses)
If I take more fences away. the springfielders will fall in the water 😛

I have also taken away some flowers and tress even though I didn’t want to. 🙁

Please increase the item limit EA

  16. I find it really weird that so many people hate the changes to the game. As far as I’m concerened, anything that makes the game more interesting is welcome. I’m enjoying the event, and I like that K land is in Springfield proper now. It’s makes for some really interesting design possibilities. I feel badly for players experiencing the various bugs, and the lag in the game is a little frustrating. I think much of the lag can be attributed to your device and connection speed. But all in all, I like the event a lot.

    • I’ve noticed that there is a considerable lag time playing on my 4 year old iPad, but no lag time playing on my brand new iPhone 8. So a lot of the difficulties are probably device related.

  17. I voted Liked it, went frequently.
I went there a few times a day to collect tickets and play Side Show You.
It was a pain in the butt to rebuild even with group save, but I set it up next to the mountains in my Springfield. Now I need a little more land to work on Itchy and Scratchy Land next to it.

  18. I’m not currently sure how I feel about the event as I’m playing it but I’m not particularly excited for any of the prizes on the track at the moment. Also I feel EA needs to change the questline method or the just change the way events work altogether. as I’m not a fan of playing part of it then having to wait days to get a certain prize to continue.

  19. This event is really no different than others. Yes we eliminated an underused area. Some things now u can’t place on the KL beige ground. No biggie. I do like rebuilding an itchy and scratchy land….only using those themed items right now. Gives me something fun to build. Dont like the race track….takes up valuable real estate right now. It’s ok…..its kinda fun if ur item limits arent up…so far mine aren’t…. So im kinda back n forth. The 4 hr grind is just getting old i guess….. But i keep playing…..lol

I like the positivity, and I agree that it is very much like other events, all of them coming with issues of one kind or another… Refreshing to see a positive comment on here.

  20. I bought Sherri and Terri last week and have been working through the tasks. After nuking Krustyland Sherri and Terri are stuck on a task where they needed to go to Krustyland! There is no option to start the task- it’s just blank. Guess they’ll be in my taskbar waiting forever (or until the task is changed).

    • wantcoffee99@gmail.com

I do not know what the task is, but do you have the KL items out of storage and in your town that are required to complete the task?

  21. I liked Krustyland for the additional play. Also for the ticket exchange for cash when I needed it because KEM farming was costing me cash. I liked the splash screen but didn’t enjoy server issues when trying to get there. I don’t imagine I will place all the K-land stuff in Springfield, so I shall miss that. It was really great to get 99 land tokens for Springfield, though.

  22. Hated that they let Krustyland lie fallow for so long. I enjoyed it when it was featured. Now, it adds to the recent messiness of Springfield and I have to view each character separately to see if they have a task there. They need to include more citizens in making Krustyland a success or I will be putting it into storage after this event. I do appreciate that they credited me for the land and rides I purchased.

  23. wantcoffee99@gmail.com

I might not even have a KL or Itchy/scratchy land after the event is over, opting instead to keep just a few items for the docks and spread around town. I like the pieces more than the whole. From most comments I have read, it seems like people are intent on having a park even though they do not want to use up the space. Fugget About It.

  24. Like the idea, but nuking Krustyland is a huge time waster for me. In addition to rebuilding Kland in Springfield, I also need to rebuild my 4 terminal airport, Spaceland, Christmasland and other associated bits and pieces to take advantage of all the newly released real estate. Can’t finish this until the event ends as I don’t know how much land my I & S land will occupy and what shape is needed. The two parks will be separated by water, but each accessable from the other via a bridge. With all the extra land now available I could use 3 more monorail stations.

  25. I liked my K-land and was able to move in intact (with a fair amount of difficulty and irritation). If I would have realized how much land there was to the east of town now, I would have used my free land tokens different and put K-land elsewhere.

For the new event, the rides seem out of proportion especially with all the building to increase the bonus multiplier. Once it is over, I will probably just keep the base rides and tack it on to K-land. The rest will likely be stored. Please please please EA, let use sell all the useless junk in storage.

  26. I tried to leave a long comment, but I think it got lost??? If it didn’t and this is a repeat, please delete. So sorry ☹

I had to vote “something else” because I LOVED KL and visited it almost every time I played the game. It has been an adjustment to realize I don’t have to “go to KL” with every visit to SF. But I also LOVE LOVE LOVE this update. I am having SO MUCH FUN AND I have been every spare minute for the last 2 days. My KL designs were very concise and took only a small portion of the land. I was able to transfer the approx. 2,500 KL decorations to SF and place them as groups with little difficulty or alteration. I was getting item limit warnings, but since the increase I’m not even getting those anymore. Because I had all the KL land purchased but not used, I have SO MUCH land to play with now. I’ve been able to do a much needed expansion of my business district and Christmas town in preparation for future growth and I’m contemplating expansion of my residential, Epcot and Vegas sections. The monorail, for the most part, as been pushed to the edges again in anticipation of the future and I now have a back entrance to KL via the Krusty monorail station.

I don’t think I would be as happy about this update if I hadn’t already bought all the land in KL, if my KL designs were more expansive and difficult to transfer as a result or if I had bought the wrong land tiles in SF. I think tappers should be able to buy any land they missed with the update using KL tickets. More land makes everybody happy 😊

In fact, I still want MORE LAND! You can’t have too much land. More land helps with planning. But restrictions do keep me controlled and appreciative of the space available.

Another suggestion: I would like to be able to place roads and concrete any place I choose, not just the predetermined locations. I would also like to size the roads and concrete. It would save space and allow for more creativity. I also have the LAG complaint but I’m adjusting my rhythm and hoping for a fix. I also like the idea of being able to change the location of land already purchased.

THANKS AGAIN, TSTOADDICTS for the safe place to express ourselves about the game. I love reading the posts and comments from other tappers. I would also like an option to subscribe to receive the comment emails without having to place a comment myself.

  27. Next event figure out something to do with Springfield Heights. And get the prize track for visiting neighbors going again with new prizes.

  28. My only annoyance is that they give me a bunch of “gifts” that I don’t want and after the event is over they won’t let me store them or most important won’t let me delete what I don’t want Then they start telling everyone they have too many items in inventory. I particularly hate it when they tell me I’m a hoarder. I wouldn’t be a hoarder if they let me delete what I don’t want. Attack of Clones – hated it but it’s clogging up my inventory. Please EA let me delete unwanted items you force me to craft in order to play my game. I’ve been playing just short of 6 years – I love the game but sometimes it’s frustrating when it comes to EA’s guidelines

  29. I spent a lot of time making my Krustyland, and,… I never went there. But I still liked my design, and the item limit means I won’t be able to recreate it the way I like with so many trees and flowers.

  30. I liked KL separately and visited it daily twice. I don’t like that it takes up so much space in the game map, particularly how much space the new rides require and lagging from so much additional animation going on. Wasn’t too excited about the previous two events with the bonus area concept, too, due to the huge dimensions requiring crafting and placing of so much garbage. The only consolation is the fact that I could grab 100 cheap land tokens during the process. The new event feels too dragged out, uninspired (story-wise) and grinding, again.

    • I don’t like the bonus area concept at all. In other events I could design as I went along and by the end of the event had a nice complete looking area. As it is now, they stay awkwardly bunched up until the end and we roll right into the next mini event. Everything gets thrown into storage or placed haphazardly somewhere awaiting inspiration. The farther behind you get, the more overwhelming it becomes.
