Gil’s Latest Gimmick: Details and Should You Buy the Devil and Hellscape

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Looks like Gil’s back in Springfield.  He returned to Springfield late last week, naturally with another ‘deal” for us.  What’s the latest gimmick he’s peddling? Well this time around he’s finally done it, he’s finally made a deal for the Devil.

So let’s break down the details of this latest offer and determine if you should spend your donuts to bring this demon to Springfield….

So when you first get into Springfield you’ll see Gil waving his arms around…just begging you to tap on him…

If you tap on him you’ll see…

Gil: You’ll never guess my luck!  I was sleeping in a boxcar when the train derailed.  Next thing I know, I’m down in Hell. Well, sir, turns out he was looking for an advance man to help market his Devilish transactions on Earth. So what do you say?  Buy my devil and he’ll make you a Hell of a good deal.

At which point you’ll see his latest gimmick…

If you refuse…

Gil: You couldn’t do me this solid?  You’re literally sending me to Hell.

If you accept…

Gil:  Thanks, pal, you made the right choice! Listen, if the Devil offers you a deal…
Take it!  Best decision I ever made.

Now real quick because…if you refuse the offer will go back in the store.  It will be there…

This Deal Ends October 18th

(interesting to note, even though we get the advanced information from EA there can still be errors with it.  Point…they told us Gil was coming on the 19th…the day AFTER he leaves. 🤷‍♀️ Go figure.)

And now for the part, you’ve all been waiting for…the Should I Buy…

Character:  The Devil
Building: Hellscape
Donut Cost: 199 Donuts
Size: 6×8
Earns: $300, 30xp/12hrs

This Deal Ends October 18th

Pros

-Voiced

Cons
-Too expensive for this particular character/building combo

Pro or Con Depending on Who You Are/How You Play:
-Visual tasks are 4 and 12hrs
-It’s the Devil.

Final Thought
Premium:
Personally I don’t think this is worth 199 donuts, but it does help with the event and is a fairly standard premium combo (despite the price tag).  So if you’re a premium player and really like this you mine as well pick it up.

Freemium:
Pass. Not worth 199 donuts if you’re a freemium player (or even a casual farmer)

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I don’t think I’ll be taking this deal.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Remember, there’s a good chance this may come back in a future Mystery Box.  Look at the Burns Dragon from last year.  That was 199 donuts last Halloween and now it’s in the Magical Mystery Box for 45 donuts.  So you’re rolling the dice either way with this one.  If you buy it there’s a good chance it’ll come back at a much lower price and you’ll be mad about it, if you don’t buy it and want it there’s always a chance it may not come back.  So the gamble is up to you to take…

Here’s a look at his tasks…

Devil’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Play the Violin 1hr $105, 26xp Various Bars in Springfield
Enjoy a Breath of Fresh Air 4hrs $260, 70xp* Outside/Visual
Go Back to Hell 8hrs $420, 105xp Hellscape
Collect Souls 12hrs $600, 150xp* Outside/Visual
Invent New Forms of Torture 24hrs $1000, 225xp Hellscape

During the event his 4 and 12 hour tasks will pay out event currency.  After the event they’ll revert back to in-game cash.

And because this is the complete details on the Gil Deal, here’s the Turbo Tappin’ Version of his questline…

(BUT the questline earns event currency but not Pickaxes.  Use the Devil to earn Pickaxes and save the questline for later)

  1. @ Alissa : I just recognized that all of the new premium characters don’t have the tasks at the Chez Guevara, Smooches on the Beach, the Casino etc. Is it a bug or just wanted by EA?

    • 🤷‍♀️ personally I like it. I’m getting annoyed by the massive task lists…

      • Thanks for your answer! Personally, I don’t like it 😉. I like sending all my adult characters to dancing at the Guevara…This way everyone earns at a premium rate and it’s easy to collect them all at once.
Btw also thanks a lot for all your efforts on this site despite having 2 small children at home which take a lot of your time!

  2. DEAL! 😈

  3. He’s really red

  4. I’m surprised that Gil has not been offered yet as some type of premium character.

  5. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

What could go wrong with a deal from Gil and the Devil ?

Who could you trust more ?

    🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

    🌞💎 . See ya bye . 👽

  6. I downloaded the Google Rewards app & answer short surveys for Google Play Credit. I then use the “money” to buy Golden Scratch cards. Last week I bought 4 of them and won a total of 90 donuts so I went ahead and bought it 🙂

    Not really the proper place,
    But,
    I like Safi’s ANKH

  8. I have way more donuts now compared to last Christmas. Because I was donut poor I had to pass on Jesus. I now have the donuts to buy the devil, but I felt wrong passing on Jesus and buying the devil, haha. So the devil is a no for now.

  9. I bought him as an opposite to all the dieties I have. Too expensive if you aren’t into that kind of thing.

  10. The devil looks an awful lot like Moe!!!😈👹😈

  11. Pssst!.. it’s already October…
Looks like someone needs some sleep.
We are gonna be okay if you don’t give us sib on everything, relax. It’s all, good, baby Sam and little Riley are more important.

    • I can’t even pretend that’s a copy and paste error, last Gil deal ended in August. I legitimately wrote Sept instead of October lol

I told my wife, a few days ago, it was time to take off my second shoe and sock to count off her mistakes.
I guess we may need start on our “other” hand, for yours?

  12. He’s staying in Georgia

  13. Pretty much an instant buy for me. I figured last year I bought Jesus so I had to get the devil as well.

  14. I already have the Flander’s devil skin and one devil in my town is plenty👹. I got the Tween Lit building, so will already be pulling in extra currency from all the kids…don’t think I’ll need any more premium help in act 2.

  15. The character is HUGE! As in GIGANTIC. As much as I wanted this combo, I’ll probably end up storing it just because it’s so distracting.

  16. I bought it immediately. It’s the Devil.

  17. I should have waited. The devil’s in the detail☺️

  18. There have been a lot of variations of the devil on the show and this was probably the lamest one they could’ve done. If they would’ve offered the original Simpsons devil that seemed to be based on Herman then I definitely would’ve grabbed it.

  19. I consider myself a casual donut farmer and I still got it (I buy several hundred bloodmobiles at once every two months or so to get around 700 bonuts). I was disappointed that it does not have any bonus% at all. Next time I’ll do my research before deciding to splurge…

  20. “This Deal Ends September 18th” ummm…

  21. 199 is too much for the devil but you recommended Jesus at the same price? Is the dialogue/questline that much worse or is the fact that it’s the devil a con for you personally?

I wish the Hellscape had a bonus %, but the $ is a nice benefit. Not the prettiest building, but I’m sure I’ll find a use for it since it pays.

I was donut poor when Jesus came out but would get him if he came back, and I pulled the trigger pretty quickly on the devil. The 300 donut characters are still too much for me as a casual donut farmer, but <200 for something that goes along with the other religious characters, looks like an evil Moe, helps with the event and stands out and reminds me I bought him when he wanders the town? Sold!

    • No Jesus was hilarious and NOT Moe dressed in red…

Plus Jesus came at Christmas and they got me in a good mood. Halloween is not my favorite…in fact I hate Halloween (and I don’t hide that)…so I’m not in a donut spending mood.

Has zero to do with religion.

      • That makes sense. I enjoy Halloween more than Christmas (IRL and in the game) and so this was a no brainer for me, but like everything that appears in the game it’s easy to see how some people are more/less interested than others .

  22. Meh… Flanders will always be the devil for me.

  23. Devil and Hellscape

Yeah 199 Sprinkles seems steep, but I won’t question anyone who picks up this Gil Deal – especially if you need another Character who helps earn Pickaxes and/or Event Currency because your work shift doesn’t allow you to tap for 1/2 the Day.

At least the Hellscape doesn’t take up lots of Land (I’m personally waiting for the Wolf Characters in Act 2). I’m looking on YouTube for the Visual Tasks (just to see how funny they are), and still say Nosferatu was the best Premium so far. 👍

  24. Picked it up the day it was offered. Was saving some doughnuts for a Gil deal and was glad this one was not 300.

Nice looking character and will fit in well with Jesus and heaven I think.

  25. Not today Satan…..😈🚫😈

  26. I was only charged 165 donuts despite it saying it was 199. The confirmation screen said so and I double checked my donut total. I wish I would have gotten a screenshot of it, but I didn’t think about it until after I confirmed.

    • Tracy-1ltwoody920

      Ditto

    • I think I got him for 165 too. I saw the message ‘are you sure you want to spend 165 donuts’ but thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I clicked through pretty quickly but later discounted my ‘luck’ at getting him for 165. The numbers add up though.

    • I was just scrolling through posts to see if anyone else had the same thing happened. I am 99.9% sure my donut total only dropped by 165. I say “99.9%” because I did glance at my total, wondered if I should wait for the mystery box, said “nah, it’s the devil and the hell pit thing would work with my Halloween section,” and went for it.

I didn’t catch the 165 donut message until I agreed to the deal and it said I was charged that amount.

Should’ve taken a screenshot of the message. But since others experienced it, guess I wasn’t imagining things 😄

  27. I did this immediately and actually got donuts back (35? 65? Something like that). Anyone else get donuts back?

  28. One way or another, I’m always lacking Ds when these offers pop up. Coincidences? Don’t think so. Anyway, I’ll wait patiently for a Mystery Box 😂

  29. Bought him. Love him. He’s HUGE and red, plus his yelling (about Cinnabon?) makes me chuckle.

  30. I couldn’t help my self. I got him. The devil made me do it!

    • Tape! He say tape o!

It was the cinnamon, cinnamon, cinnamon!

      • Watched this episode yesterday, XXIII. He traps Homer into having a three way with him and another demon to save Marge and Maggie from going to hell. The safe word is cinnamon!

        Love my purchase.
