Secret Agents 2017 and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So I’m a little behind with this one, as the Secret Agents Event left our games a couple of weeks ago.  But, now is still a great time to look back at how all of the items added for this event impact our Conform-O-Meters.  Especially since this event brought LOADS of items to Springfield…

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Secret Agents event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring a bunch of buildings and decorations.  So let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating: Continue reading

So without further ado, let’s take a look at the turbo tappin’ version of the premium questline for Pin Pal Moe and Pin Pal Burns…

Showoff Announcement: Pin Pals

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time…calling all Springfield designs of Pin Palling Proportions!  We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff featuring what you’ve done with all of the Pin Pals stuff!  So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

The Next Showoff will feature your Pin Pals stuff so show us what you’ve got!  Send in your bowling areas from your Springfield and we’ll be putting up the Showoff Post, featuring your designs, on Saturday May 27th 2017. (So you’ve got a week and a half AND a full weekend to work on them 😉 )

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm ET Friday May 26th can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

Do you want to be featured on the next Springfield Showoff?  Post your images  in the Comments below or email us your screenshots at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see YOUR designs! (Need help with images, just ask.)

Simple Town Designs: Rooftop Bowling

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well we’re knee deep in the Pin Pals Event, with loads of fun prizes and premium buildings!  With this mini event I can’t help but notice we’re once again left trying to make room in our Springfields for items that typically belong inside!  In particular the Bowling Lanes.  I don’t know about you, but where I come from Bowling Lanes are typically INSIDE the Bowling Alley…not outside.

Often, when we’re faced with items that typically would go inside, many tappers would simply stick these items in their inventory and never think of them again.  It can be fairly daunting to find room and a decent design for these types of items.  But, in this case the Bowling Lanes earn a bonus % AND are required to complete certain visual tasks for Pin Pal characters.  So what’s a Tapper to do?

Use a little perspective to create some fun bowling alley designs of course!  So, there’s no better time than the present to share with you all another Simple Town Design all about those Bowling Lanes….

Cranky’s Guide to Bowling and Life

I remember the strange visceral thrill the first time I “snuck” into a bowling alley with my best friend, Jack Stares.  It wasn’t that the bowling alley had an admission, or banned grade school kids from bowling, it was the simple fact that it had been made clear by my mother that, “We don’t go there. It’s not a nice place.”

This was the same vague warning that went along with almost anyplace that my mother deemed “low brow” or “below us.”  But it wasn’t until much later in life that I figured out the real reason to the “Miller family aversion to bowling.”

But at this moment, I didn’t care…I was standing in the “Gateway Bowl” and drinking in every sight and smell that the glorious, modern, and seemingly foreign wonder of wood and plastic had to offer. It was a lazy, week-day, summer afternoon, and there were fewer than 1/3 of the “24 modern lanes” with their “automatic pin-setter technology” and “Visi-Score” display scoring, in use.

I watched an older guy (everyone was older when you are 11) go through an intense ritual of drying his hand on the air dryer, slowly fitting his hand into the gleaming, black ball with the red swirls cast into it, and then pausing, while staring intently down the alley at the pins glimmering before him.  There was “easy listening” music playing softly in the background, barely audible over the din of balls being rolled on other distant lanes, and the mechanics of the ball return and pin setters clearing and setting pins. But as the man began his approach toward the pins, his arm swinging back in a graceful arc, I remember holding my breath in anticipation of the outcome.
