Welcome to the TSTO lifestyles of the not so rich and famous…
Hey hey friends! So in case you’ve been enjoying a real life without a lot of TSTO or the blog, you might not have noticed that EA has been busy. Not only did they dish up a fun Tap Ball Event and Level 55 and 56 but they decided to add Cookiee Kwan and an entire new district with 56 pieces of land! If you don’t count the 14 water strips… that’s 42 new pieces of possible real estate development!
But wait a tick… Springfield Heights is a district for all the rich folks… the “whales” as Homer calls them. Not all of us skyfingers are fabulously wealthy and that Kwan always rubbed me the wrong way. She can have the West side. Let’s not tell her we always though of that land behind the mountains as North anyways. As a native Californian… you won’t convince me that the water side isn’t the West anyways.
So before the uber rich land became available… EA actually gave us not one but two strips of land with the Tap Ball Event and what’s a Wookiee to do when he has so much more “regular folk” space for designing? Get to work of course (after getting all his origin posts done first). FYI… if you ever wanted to see my town, it’s below the break.
I don’t know about you but I am finding myself smiling more and more every time I visit the Village of Wookieeton and find smoking remnants of buildings. While strategy based games aren’t my forte or really my favorite, I decided early on in this event to make the most of it. If nothing else, this update has rekindled my creative fire. My neighbors are active and so is my imagination… life is good.
I’m normally a pretty positive person but I do have one big gripe with this update. I’m sure by now a lot of tappers have gotten their 3 castles up to Level 10 and found out that the accouterments for Lisa and Bart’s come with a premium price tag. I was right there with ya being pretty ticked about the development and wondering what the heck I was going to do with just 3 towers, 8 walls, a gate and castle?
As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we find ourselves sometimes forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to.
So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU.
So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small. Brag about it to the world. We want you to. (That and Bunny loves to see other designs and get inspiration from it.) Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.
Lmbo… I sure don’t miss military formations. Anywho… with all the war going on in our towns, the history geek in me has been reminiscing about wars I enjoyed learning about. Wasn’t it General Patton who said, “No tapper ever won a war by leaving dead buildings in his country. They won it by making the other poor dumb tapper rebuild in his country.” I’m pretty sure that’s word for word lol.
During events, there’s lots and lots of facts and info to put out and Alissa and Bunny are true masters at compiling and producing those posts. In the back office, I help as much as I can while spending more time than I should decorating in my town and copying their answers to comments. While this may seem like an admission of sloth (don’t worry, they know), it does occassionally bear fruit for me to share. This post is one example so without further words, I bring you a 3D tutorial for building a castle thingy in your town. Continue reading →
Wookiee popping in with a little building fun for y’all. You may have noticed an absence by me and suffice to say school and real life have been kicking my furry behind but I’m always around at least lurking to make sure no arms need ripping off.
Anywho… in the midst of stress and silliness the other day, I found myself returning to the refuge that is TSTO to take my mind off of life, the universe and everything and suddenly had the inspiration to build. With the past 4th of July stuff, one of the rad decorations available was the Lincoln Memorial. I of course snatched it up immediately as another homage to one of my favorite presidents and set myself the task to turn this new dec into a proper memorial in my B game. Took some brainstorming and procrastination but I finally got around to building and figured I’d take you along for the ride.
Note from Alissa: (I promise I won’t be hijacking everyone’s posts from now on) Just about 11 AM here on the East Coast of the US and no update to report of yet. Thought for those of you enjoying the bright, green Springfield again you might enjoy some design ideas for your TSTO Houses. Check out this great post from Wookiee and share your designs with us on our Flickr page, in the comments below, on Facebook or via email (TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com) and you never know…you just might be featured in our next Springfield Showoff post!
In the TSTO Blogosphere, there is a lot of information out there for all to enjoy. While Addicts has you covered with lots and lots of words, there are some amazing folks out there covering all this amazing Simpsons game stuff with video blogs containing lots and lots of words lol. My favorite of these VBloggers is the one and only Adipose.
