Black History Month Act 2 Is Live!

Update: Hibbert’s Dad will earn Act 2 currency as well! Increasing your max currency payout to 71/4hrs. I’ve updated the post below to reflect. Special thanks to Angus Lee in the comments for pointing this out to me!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast, and that means Act 2 of the Black History Event is live in Springfield!

Things kick off for Act 2 with some dialogue between Carl and Bart…

Carl: Bart, you want to do your Black History Month report on me? But why?
Bart: You’re the black person I most admire.
Carl: Really?
Bart: Totally! You’ve saved my dad’s life a million times by turning him on his side when he was passed out.
Carl: Are you sure there isn’t someone you admire more? Thurgood Marshall? Nelson Mandela? The cool bad guy from Black Panther?
Bart: Those guys are great, but I don’t want to research. So let’s do this thing already! I’m brokering a fireworks deal with Nelson in half an hour.
Carl: Eh, why not? But I can’t tell the story of my life without talking about the guy who got me here. My deadbeat dad, Carl Sr. The spelunker, excavator, and hyper-capitalist founder of the Carl’s Dad Caverns.

This triggers the Act 2 questline,Fair-Weather Father, and is followed by 4hr tasks for Carl, as well as a task to collect Act 2 Currency (350). Fair-Weather Father is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of the Act 2 prizes.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s finally Christmas in Springfield! Our pocket-sized Springfields have been covered with a fresh blanket of snow! What’s in store for us this time? Well, we’re tasked with seeing if Grampa can bore Death…well to death! Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.

Abe’s in Toyland follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!

With Act 4, week 4, one new premium costume was introduced. In addition to helping with event currency, Aaron Burr comes with his own, short, individual questline, so let’s take a look at the full dialogue questline now…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Happy New Year!

It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast, and that means Week 4 of Abe’s in Toyland is live in Springfield!

Things kick off for week 4 with some more dialogue between Grampa and Death…

Death: Great! So that’s how you saved Christmas.
Grampa: What are you talking about? That story was about the FBI and Communists.
Death: Close enough. Off we go to the afterlife. Come on, come on!
Grampa: I’m not going through pearly gate one until I tell you how I saved Christmas.
Death: Okay, fine! I’m an emotionless specter, but, boy, I am so going to enjoy killing you.
Grampa: It all started right after my wife Mona ran away. I was bussing tables at Spiro’s Jazz Den when I met a lovely lady named Rita Lafleur. She had legs that went all the way to the place next door… Gunther’s Polka Hole.

This triggers the week 4 questline, A Jazzy Xmas Special, and is followed by 4hr task for Grampa, as well as a task to collect Week 4 Currency (50). A Jazzy Xmas Special is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of the Week 4 prizes.

Abe’s In Toyland Week 4 Starts Tomorrow

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow morning, Wednesday, January 1st…it will officially be 2020!!!! Congrats on the start of a new decade! Oh and also Week 4 (Act 4) of Abe’s in Toyland will be starting (wonderful timing as always for EA). The official start time is 10am ET.

While the Weeks 1, 2 and 3 questlines won’t be going anywhere, so if you haven’t finished the prizes you’ll have a chance to complete it even after Week 3 starts, all of the Week 3 Premium items will be leaving the store.

So if you planned to purchase Krusty the Christian do so before he leaves our games tomorrow morning. (SIB Linked)

Also, here’s some inside info to help you prepare for Week 4 to start…

During Week 4 we’ll finally reach the conclusion of this strange Christmas tale! Of course, you’ll have to follow along with the dialogue to find out what happens, but the same characters used for Act 3 currency tasks should be used for the Act 4 currency tasks, with the exception of Krusty the Christian. Again, Krusty will NOT earn currency for Week 4. So we’re looking at:
Homer
Lisa
Bart
Milhouse
Ned
Grampa
Marge
Moe
New Premium Character for Act 4

You’ll also need Grampa free for the initial questline objective…

There will also be one new premium character combo introduced during week 4, and that character will be able to help with the currency earning for week 4. (150 donuts will be needed if you’d like to purchase the combo)

And that’s it my friends! Be prepared for Week 4to start up tomorrow morning!

Full disclosure…it’s Christmas. (Merry Christmas!) I’m not here. I’ve prewritten this post and scheduled it in advance to go live when Act 3 hits. So all of the information in this post is based off of the information EA has provided us in our event packets. I have not verified in-game. So if something is incorrect, I apologize and i’ll fix it tomorrow…maybe. If not tomorrow, then Friday. Today, I’m spending the day with my family…as you should be too! 🙂

Death: Look, you need to hurry up these stories. You’re supposed to be chewing coffin dirt by dawn.
Grampa: Don’t get your ghoul underpants in a ghost knot, I’m getting there. World War Two was over. I had an honorable discharge from the Army, and a dishonorable discharge from a skin condition I picked up in Paris. The economy was booming, and every veteran was dating a nurse he’d kissed on V-J day. And yet America was threatened by internal Communist subversives from the USSR. We were headed towards a Christmas nightmare!

This triggers the week 3 questline, Abe the Toy Solider, and is followed by 4hr task for Grampa, as well as a task to collect Week 3 Currency (50). Abe the Toy Solider is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of the Week 3 prizes.

Abe’s In Toyland Week 3 Starts Tomorrow

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow morning, Wednesday, December 25th, is Christmas!!!! Oh and also Week 3 (Act 2) of Abe’s in Toyland will be starting (what lousy timing on EA’s part…). The official start time is 10am ET.

While the Weeks 1 and 2 questlines won’t be going anywhere, so if you haven’t finished the prizes you’ll have a chance to complete it even after Week 2 starts, all of the Week 2 Premium items will be leaving the store.

So if you planned to purchase Abbey do so before she leaves our games tomorrow morning. (SIB Linked)

Also, here’s some inside info to help you prepare for Week 3 to start…

During Week 3 we’ll travel back in time to when Abe was a Toy Solider model! Of course, you’ll have to follow along with the dialogue to find out what happens, but the same characters used for Act 2 currency tasks should be used for the Act 3 currency tasks, with the exception Abbey. Again, the Abbey will NOT earn currency for Week 3. So we’re looking at:

This triggers the week 2 questline, A Foggy London Christmas , and is followed by 4hr tasks for Grampa and Death, as well as a task to collect Week 2 Currency (50). A Foggy London Christmas is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of the Week 2 prizes.
