So you kind of have the basics down on Attack and Defend now. But, is there more to it than that? Is there an easier way than to tap on all the Shields, Repair all the destruction, and not have to wait hours to collect from Attacks? Well, the answer is yes.
As in most games, there is a “chance” die that can help a player along. Maybe “cheat” in a way to get things accomplished faster. To get that instant win they desire. Or, and instant kill. In this crazy new Clash of Clones Event, EA has provided us with some fun die to add to the mix of options. The Cheaters.
(Side Note: We are aware of the glitch people are getting with these. Please refer to the Glitch Post and keep your comments on the Glitch there so it does not flood the comments on this post.)
Now in order to be able to use these die, regardless if you have won them or not, you need to have reached 800 Gold and unlocked the Free 5 Pack of Cheaters. To use them, you need to go to a Neighbors/Random Player town that has buildings/castles to destroy, or have Buildings in your town that need to be repaired and/or defended. Time to break it all down, shall we?
How do I know I have Cheaters?
You will see an icon in the top right corner of your game indicating just how many Cheaters total you have earned and can use.
They will also show on the pop up screens when you tap on the buildings. Right next to the total amount of Nerds you have available for attacks.
How do I get MORE Cheaters?
You will get a box of 5 total Cheaters once you collect 800 Gold for your Personal Prizes. (It says 20, but that is the for the 20 sided die reference and NOT the amount you get.)
You can purchase more with your Donuts from the Event Menu or Premium Buddha Homer Menu.
Single Cheaters 20- 9 Donuts
Handful of 5 Cheaters 20s- 44 Donuts
Bag of 20 Cheaters 20s- 155 Donuts
You can even randomly earn them buy just playing the Event. Attacking/Defending will also randomly drop one Cheater here n there.
How do the Cheaters help me to Attack?
When you journey into a Neighbor or Random Players town, you are given the option to Attack any building with the Axe & Sword over it. Normally, you would tap on that building, get the Attack pop up, and select the amount of Nerds you want to use for the Attack. If you have Cheaters, you now also have the added option if you scroll down below the Nerd +/- to “Wreck this building immediately” for 1 die.
Tap on this option to use one Cheater. This will immediately destroy the building and instantly give you the payout for it.
How do the Cheaters help me to Defend?
After a Neighbor or Random Invader has attacked you, you will see a Shield over the Building…or…if they destroyed it you will see either the smoking rubble of the Castle or the bare bones of the House. Instead of going around and tapping on each Shield or Repairing each Castle, you can “cheat” and get it done in one fell swoop. (This works great for House Farmers or those with Mass towns that may take a lil longer to clear out.)
Think of the Cheaters die as Instant Fix All. Just tap on the icon in the upper right corner of your screen.
This will pop up a lil dialog at the top middle of your screen telling you to “Tap the screen anywhere to use the Cheaters 20.” Since these can be hard to come by, use them wisely at points where they will be most beneficial to you. Like when there are several Homes to Defend and several Buildings destroyed.
Once you tap anywhere on the screen, instant magic will happen and ALL the Buildings Defended and Repaired will instantly pop out your rewards. Anything hidden underneath the Shield will now be revealed.
As you can see, the destroyed Castle Nerd production was NOT impacted at all. I was still able to collect my Nerds just fine regardless of destruction. So a quick and easy way to clear your town. This is where letting the building be destroyed instead of defended is hard, especially for the Castle as you NEED those Nerds and they generate every 2 hrs.
If you tap on the icon and there is nothing to use it on, you will get this pop up instead. 
So you should not have to worry about wasting them.

Does using the cheater’s die lower your righteousness rating on the conform-o-meter? Mine went from 5 to 1/2 in one day. Seems a little extreme…
Not that I know of. Did you by chance have anyone spray any of your buildings or you theirs? See Sideshow Bob at all and NOT tap on him in yours or neighbors towns?
I bought the 20 cheaters for 9 donuts and never got them …. what should I do 🙁 ??
Contact EA…but are you sure you didn’t get them? The 9 donut option is for 1 cheater….
If you’re sure you didn’t get it contact EA they’ll refund your donuts 🙂
I used a cheaters 20 to defend my town but it still says that I still need to defend my town with a cheaters 20. Is it only me or are people having problems. I’ve used up 3 of the cheaters 20 n nothing. Plz help!
Did you go to a neighbors and use the die too to destroy a building? You need to do both and return and tap on the task in the task bar menu to make it clear out.
I did what u said and again I just wasted another cheaters 20. Am I gonna get refunded what I’m spending. I did the cheaters 20 on my neighbors n it did it but for me when it comes to defen my town it doesn’t finish the quest. Plz help again.
Contact EA. Open a ticket with them. They should be able to help you clear it and maybe get some compensation for the loss of the die.

Make sure you use at least one Cheater to both clear out your own town of Shields and damage as well as traveling to a neighbor and using it to immediately destroy one of their buildings. Then return and tap on the task itself in the task bar to see if it completes it.
What’s the better payout- using a cheaters 20 on a random castle or using it to defend your town?
My thought is you would have gotten the same payout by individually tapping all the shields so might as well use it on a random castle.
I FOUND THE SOLUTION! Holy ****!! WE JUST HAD TO READ PROPERLY! Once you tap on the cheaters20 in the top right next to the swords(to go destroy buildings) it will say “tap ANYWHERE to use the cheaters” so what you have to do is tap any part of your town where it Hasn’t been attacked! What we have been doing is tapping on the shields! We had to tap anywhere but there!!!! Share with people!!

I have a mission that has 2 on it. One in which says use cheaters 20 on another town which is complete then other ones says use.a.cheaters 20 to defend your town ive tried everything and its still not completed! Please help
So you waited til you had some Shields and/or destroyed items in your town, tapped on the corner icon, and tapped anywhere on the screen? Then went to any neighbor and tapped on one of their buildings and used the Cheater to destroy it immediately instead of just send a Nerd?
For the rolling with it quest has anyone else had a problem with getting the defending completion. I got the destroy a building with cheater but when I got invaded I opened up tapped out and immediately used a cheater and I got the elixir and gold but the quest still shows incomplete.
Many are stating this. I had to go back n forth a few times in mine and a neighbors to get it to clear as well as tapping on the task in the task bar. If it still sticks, let EA know.

Does anyone know the actual probability of finding a random cheater? Particularly I’m interested if it is the same for defending and repairing.
2% chance when defending. Couldn’t find any info for repairing.
Wish they had an option for the regular game where you can visit all your neighbors at once. It takes soooo long to visit each one every day.
I keep one cheater to let me know if any buildings are under attack/wrecked, but I don’t use it to clean up. My town is pretty large with several housing areas, so this helps. This way when I click on the icon and it says to click anywhere on the screen to use it, I unclick and search for nerds wandering or shields. Once I get the message that there is nothing left to defend I can carry on. Luckily no glitch, and I’ve earned some random extras, so now I only use them to attack an invader’s castle for maximum payout.

I use my Cheaters only for destroying Revenge or random invasion castles, as that’s the most immediate and highest guaranteed payout. I don’t mind tap-tap-tapping to fix my town after it’s been decimated by invaders.
I get a few from defending or rebuilds, but not so many I can afford to waste ’em.
I got a strange notification today, it went like this “tapped out has finished *Generating tickets (hidden)” I can’t figure out what it is meant to be. Anyone else get this or know what it is?

Someone destroyed my castle (pretty sure it was with a cheater) and my nerd production time went back to 2 hours!!! Is this normal?

This just happened to me. All my castles are synced up and they generate nerds as the same time, but one of them just got destroyed. The timer reset to 2 hrs, but a few minutes later when the other 2 castles generated nerds so did the destroyed one. So I still got my nerds, even though the castle was destroyed and the timer reset. And then the timer reset again to 2 hrs after I collected the nerds.
I’m not sure what’s going on, because I know the last time my castle was destroyed the timer didn’t reset to 2 hrs, it just continued to count down.
I hope you still get your nerds even though it looks like it reset!
Yep, I saved mine for random invader castles. Here’s a question: Do castles or house become worth more when destroyed as they (castles) are levelled? Does Homer’s levelling make them worth more? If so, by how much? I’d like to see a post on maximizing profit (gold, elixir) that doesn’t involve hopping your neighbors let you destroy their stuff… My neighbors are jerks. (haha, kidding. I love my neighbors!)
No, they’re always worth the same payout.
What is the point in leveling homer?
When you level him up, his barbarian tasks earn more elixir.
With the KL glitch you can just travel to KL to clear all your shields w/o using a cheater.
I’ve been saving and using my cheaters on the random castle attack. That seems to give the most bang for the cheater buck on elixir.
So I use a cheater to defend my town, and it works…but the quest “rolling with it” doesn’t recognize it. It still says “Use a cheaters 20 to defend your town 0/1” I have tried at least 4 times. Am I doing something wrong??

From someone who grew up playing D&D, this is a lot of fun so far. Not the same, but kind of close. I guess it helps that none of the glitches have affected me either. Plus now I can create a Ren Fair section of Springfield!
Sigh. Long, annoying, complicated, and completely unrelated to the show. Am I the only one thinking this? Ugh…I shall trudge on though. At least we can still get donuts tapping our neighbors.

How I WISH there was something similar to the cheaters in the permanent game that would auto-collect all of your building payouts and completed tasks. Sure, it’s mildly rewarding when you’re early on in the game, but when you’re max level, with all the land, it’s tedious!
That would be nice…MAYBE this is the first step to that? #wishfulthinking
I’m gonna be positive and assume so! They made a comment in the promo video about having something more to do than “tap” so maybe they are listening to feedback.
Even if they charged you something like 5k in-game dollars to clear everything that’s nothing to a top level player.

I haven’t seen it…
I usually attack my neighbours as it gives them a chance to earn and also in the hope that they will also attack my town. However I think it’s most effective to use the cheaters dice on random invaders castle.
Yep, that’s my strategy. I always attack random instead of neighbors (I do visit them) and if I find their castle and I have a cheater I destroy it. I then send either 4 or 5 nerds to attack other buildings hoping they don’t defend. And I do this as soon as I collect nerds. I haven’t seen any benefit to keeping nerds on hand.
