Well looks like we’ve got ourselves a little TSTO update on our hands.
First EA’s giving us a little gift…and Gil is back!
I know this probably isn’t what many of you were hoping/looking for but it’s a little something to hold us over until the “next big thing”. Let’s take a look at what’s involved…
First up…EA is giving EVERYONE 1 each of the Small Islands for FREE. (just check your inventory)
That’s right you’ll find 1 each of the Small Islands in your inventory (worth 120 donuts + $10,000)…
Next thing you’ll notice is Gil’s back!
No it’s not a donut deal (which I was hoping for to make up for the issues many of us faced after Christmas) this time he’s appealing to your Princess side and offering you a Princess Castle and Queen Helvetica costume for Lisa…
After all we’ve got a Two-nicorn that pukes rainbows we should complete the princess image in our towns…
Note: NO the Two-nicorn is NOT for sale with this update….JUST KIDDING! Of course they’re offering the Two-nicorn with this deal! What’s Queen Helvetica with out this guy?! The two-nicorn is available for 70 donuts (Should I buy on Two-nicorn is here)

FYI the castle is 8×9 in size and it does come with a questline for Lisa.

Lisa: I bet you don’t even have a daughter. What’s her name?
Gil: Uh…Stanley. Stanley Grace. Oh, who am I kidding. I shoulda known I could never get you to buy a life-sized magical princess castle from me. Even if it DOES come with a matching pink gown. And a tiara. And sash that says “HER MAJESTY”.
Lisa: Gimme!
And if you don’t take the Deal…
Gil: Gee, Homer, I hate to see your daughter so sad.
Homer: My “daughter”, as you call her, can’t feel actual sadness. As “she” is a sequence of 1s and 0s programmed by a nerd at EA. Same goes for “me”, “you”, and “whatever you’re trying to guild me into buying”. It’s all just 1s and 0s!
Gil: C’mon. it’s a beautiful princess castle! Only 175 donuts!
Homer: I hate you. Or rater, “I” “hate” “you”.
And if you take the deal…
Gil: Congratulations on your new Castle! But of course, no castle is complete without steak knives. And do I have some beauties right here. Only 19.95 donuts!
Lisa: OUT OF MY WAY!
Now if you reject the deal initially and want to go back to it in the future you can via your store. Then you’ll see the offer popup with Gil’s lovely face…

I really wish TSTO emulates Family Guy TQFS by allowing users to continue quest line of purchased item. I spent donuts to buy the Ice Castle few days ago and the quest line is gone. What a rip off!
Brought both the castle and the Unicorn and I’m now feeling very fresh and ‘Springy’ with all the greenery 😉
So happy EA gave me the islands for free, I just barely won the big island. I do feel sorry for those who paid donuts for them, EA SHOULD REFUND SPRINKLES FOR SCREWING THIS UP. On a side note though, did the oil rig always have a blinking neon sign? I never noticed till I placed my islands. Also, thanks for your fast reliable posts!

Regarding the castle, I’m tempted, I like fantasy stuff and I would finally get a premium skin for Lisa (then all four Simpson characters could earn premium cash). But it’s expensive, I do already have the CoC castles, Ice Palace, and I’m running low on space, so I’m waiting patiently for the Addicts Review/Should I Buy article to help me decide, before purchasing (…though I will probably buy, I guess I’m looking for a reason not to…).
As for the free islands… These sort of things don’t normally get to me, but some reason this time, it really gets my goat that I spent 120 donuts on what were advertised to be Limited Time items, one particularly selling at a outrageously high price (for what it was/wasn’t). I buy them thinking they were “special”, and then not only do they keep them around for general/ongoing sale, but then give them away. !?!
The 30 donut island looks fine enough having multiples, so that can slide, but I’m torqued spending 90 donuts on a decoration I’ll only ever need/want one on display — since they gave a free one, I’ve completely wasted that money in my eyes. I’ve opened a ticket and will kindly ask for a rebate on that (waiting for my call back now).
Where can I find the Twonicorn? I don’t see it in characters, is it somewhere else? (:
It is an NPC… they are usually in the miscellaneous area of your menu. Just go in and scroll through the first open screen in the menu… new stuff is usually placed right there (by Gil Deal). If not, then check the other tabs in the Menu.
I didn’t buy any of the small islands so getting them for free was a lovely surprise!
I guess I’ll finally be able to update. I was finishing up on some donuts in my A game and the final prize in my B game. Both of them now completed as of 10 min ago. Woohoo! Why do people update right away and complain that they got SOOO close to the last prize? EA doesn’t force in on you, thankfully. …and now I come to check in on my community to find out that island I just won will turn into a sea of islands… Awesome! I’ll have to ponder that Lisa castle a bit… Who knows… I’m not totally turned off by it. I can absolutely recommend the two-nicorn though! I bought it during the CoC event. It makes me chuckle every time I tap it!!!
Is it just me or is EA and the writing staff giving us a bunch of NON-SPRINGFIELD items. We’re buying ice castles and princess castles, clash of clones castles….even Abe Lincoln’s house. These are all buildings and places that don’t exist IN Springfield. I would like to feel like I have a complete Springfield. Sooooo many more buildings and people that are actually NATIVE TO SPRINGFIELD. And where is the extra land!?!? Many people’s Springfields are starting to look like Manhattan their so crowded

I think you’re misunderstanding me Bunny. Being in the tv series and being a building that’s actually located in SPRINGFIELD sre two different things. If you do your research even Madame Chao’s is a building that belongs in Capital City……not Springfield. I’m just waiting for them to start giving us Shelbyville buildings. Yeah there’s a MILLION things that have been touched in “SIMPSONS EPISODES”. But I want buildings that belong IN THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD!!! AND NOT BUILDINGS FROM ONE OF THE KIDS IMAGINATION………….ok im done being bratty. LoL

Lol. I knew what you meant… I was being silly. That is the thing about this game… it mirrors the TV Show and so you will see things from ALL around. I think it provides a cool mix to the game to have a variety like they do. There still is so much they can add to the game too. 😛
Welp! I always love to see updates, big or small, so I was very glad to see this one. I bought the castle. I really like it & I’m liking the dialogue so far too.
The free islands was an irritating surprise lol It’s so great for those who hadn’t purchased them.
We just need to be more patient with regards to the updates. Things happen, and EA is doing what they can. If you’re so frustrated, you can always just quit playing the game and find something else 🙂 It’s pretty simple!
I bought the castle. I don’t know why, but I instantly thought I NEED THAT. Oh well, it’s cute!
I’m going to miss the snow, especially the Simpson’s snow family. At least the elf cannon still fires. lol
I’m glad to see the green grass again in my town. Now I just wish I can see the grass outside my house instead of all the snow. 🙂
I’ve been playing since June 2014 and found this site along the way. Love it! Bought the islands too and am ok with getting extra for free. Apparently you never know what will stick around or not. Getting tons of ideas to rearrange my town.
I see here in comments people talking about their A and B games. Can anyone explain that to me please? I only have one account so far. Thanks!
For me… I started out a Freemium player… that town is my “baby”. It does not have everything in it and I am very picky what I buy. Most I have I earned by getting free donuts from game play. The other game I have is premium. Stuffed full of donuts, all items, and info to help support this site. Another alternate game I have is kept on low levels… so I can go in and see any changes to the game over the years and still be able to experience what new players may run into that wasn’t there before. We have a LOT of games.
As for other players, most use the alternate game to “help” their main game. Kind of like a “feeder” town. So for events when you are required to have a neighbor help… you use your OTHER game to help you too. 😉
Some people helped their significant other start a game, that they now play for that person who isn’t terribly interested. Bottom line: it’s a reference to playing more than one account.
I have always only maintained one, never saw the need (or the addiction for 🙂 anymore… barely have any dexterousness left with TSTO x 1 let alone TSTO x many!
I never got the gil or island up date. I updated my game so the christmas event is over but no gil.
Try restarting your device to kick in the 2nd update.
Just bought the castle and the the tunicorn. The castle is new isn’t it? Hopefully we will still get Level 49 this week if not than next week.
Sooooooo mad. With all the doughnuts I used to buy those islands which are now free I could have bought the castle. I think all the people who bought the islands should get a free castle.
Really EA are extracting the Michael with the island gifts. I didn’t buy them first time round but do think they should refund the doughnuts to those who bought them.
This is not a nice thing EA not nice at all.
As for the princess my five year old grandson says no.
Yep, pretty crappy of EA to put “Limited Time” on premium items deliberately tricking you into spending real money on something they KNEW would be free just a day later. Shame on you EA.
To me… this was a last minute “tossed in there” thing. It doesn’t look planned or intended at all to me. More… “people don’t like the price, we better toss them a few” kinda last minute idea.

But, but, but I already spent 120 donuts to buy those premium islands during the Christmas event. It clearly states that they were limited time! I bought them thinking if i miss them by then, I’ll have to wait for next year. And just after the event, EA brought them into the store as a permanent items. Okay, that bummed me out lil bit. And now, EA is giving them for free?! 🙁 I’m so pissed off. That’s a poor plan on EA’s part.
Do you think there’s any chance if ask them back for rebate of the donuts? They’re welcome to take away the islands i bought for my 120 donuts refund.

I got the big free island and bought like a half a dozen of the freemium ones, but didn’t buy the premium ones.
Now I got enough islands to build my own island city. Pretty cool! Might look nice with that old pirate ship!
I spent the sprinkles aka 120 and got those islands when first offered but i am happy that those freemium players were able to get them today!

I refuse to be upset that EA is giving a few islands for free. I knew it cost 90 donuts to get that tiny island with tail wreckage, and that’s what it cost and I still have it. Now I have two!
When I saw Gil and the castle talk, I was wondering if they were offering the ice castle again, too. I’m glad it’s a new castle! and no melted ice castle!!
People, may I strongly recommend Twonicorn? Twonicorn cracks me up! She/he makes my day just a little bit more cheery with that on demand unicorn barf.
And for those too poor to purchase Twonicorn, just pay attention to which neighbors have it — you can tap theirs :p

I think is a bad update. Simpsons TO is getting worst as a game. Bad 2 part Xmas event… So poor.
Remember…this is a small update to most likely bridge the gap to next week where they’ll put out a bigger update.
It’s not an update. It’s just a thing you can buy if you want.
I agree. I’m actually kind of mad/disappointed about this. How could EA think this wouldn’t make people mad? At 120 donuts, that’s about $9 wasted on a premium purchase.

I feel like this is a gigantic slap in the face from EA. I appreciate their gesture for accommodating the server errors but giving out the three islands after people paid for them just seems poorly planned. I think donuts or a new free item would have been better. Additionally, why offer another castle? Didn’t they learn from COC that a lot of users didn’t like the castles in their town? Couldn’t they at least allow us to move all these items to KL? I hope whatever next is better. Was hoping for a new level or something today. Hopefully next week. Only upside is that I can take a break for a few days.

I was worried that our timers would reset (it takes 300 pops to get doughnuts, it’s not random) but if you just got it now then we’re good. 🙂
I don’t think this was a 300th pop (but it might’ve been, I suppose), it was a prize behind a balloon – Alissa’s link says they’re rare, but can happen. First time for me.

I still didn’t update my game. I had decided that I wouldn’t until it forced me to, because although I just received my bonus donuts this morning and I know there’s no way I can get it one more time, I know I’ll miss the snow. But now I’m afraid that I’ll miss the islands if I don’t update the game today. Well… I think I’ll just wait until tonight, and if if doesn’t force me to update, I will do it myself.
I think as long as you do it before the offer is over (just over 4 days) you should be ok…
