Well looks like we’ve got ourselves a little TSTO update on our hands.
First EA’s giving us a little gift…and Gil is back!
I know this probably isn’t what many of you were hoping/looking for but it’s a little something to hold us over until the “next big thing”. Let’s take a look at what’s involved…
First up…EA is giving EVERYONE 1 each of the Small Islands for FREE. (just check your inventory)
That’s right you’ll find 1 each of the Small Islands in your inventory (worth 120 donuts + $10,000)…
Next thing you’ll notice is Gil’s back!
No it’s not a donut deal (which I was hoping for to make up for the issues many of us faced after Christmas) this time he’s appealing to your Princess side and offering you a Princess Castle and Queen Helvetica costume for Lisa…
After all we’ve got a Two-nicorn that pukes rainbows we should complete the princess image in our towns…

Gil: Uh…Stanley. Stanley Grace. Oh, who am I kidding. I shoulda known I could never get you to buy a life-sized magical princess castle from me. Even if it DOES come with a matching pink gown. And a tiara. And sash that says “HER MAJESTY”.
Lisa: Gimme!
And if you don’t take the Deal…
Gil: Gee, Homer, I hate to see your daughter so sad.
Homer: My “daughter”, as you call her, can’t feel actual sadness. As “she” is a sequence of 1s and 0s programmed by a nerd at EA. Same goes for “me”, “you”, and “whatever you’re trying to guild me into buying”. It’s all just 1s and 0s!
Gil: C’mon. it’s a beautiful princess castle! Only 175 donuts!
Homer: I hate you. Or rater, “I” “hate” “you”.

Gil: Congratulations on your new Castle! But of course, no castle is complete without steak knives. And do I have some beauties right here. Only 19.95 donuts!

If people r going to crying about what EA gives for free, then if I was EA, I wouldn’t give anyone anything! They did not have to give us the 3 islands, or even one. If u don’t want them, then see if u can give them back. Why do people think the world revolves around them? Don’t ruin it for everyone by your complaining. Mary Jo
Idk about everyone else, but I’m grateful for the free gift. It’s the thought that counts in some cases. Would I have spent donuts on the islands? No. The big free island and the one you could buy for cash were more than enough to add a tropical feel without wasting any of the donuts I have set aside for fun things. However, it is nice to have the set and it was nice of EA to make that happen. They don’t DO anything but look pretty and take up space. It wouldn’t have been the best purchase for my town but I can appreciate the generosity.

After spending donuts on “limited time” small islands, I am ticked they gave them to everyone for free. I would have preferred a donut refund or cash instead of duplicates I don’t want.
REFUND THE PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT THE ISLANDS.

Yeah, I’m a little irked, too. 120 donuts and $10K. I could live without the cash, but now I don’t have enough donuts for the Queen Helvetica castle.
I was just looking at the comment down below about if there was any Canadian content i was just wondering myself if there was any Australian content in the game or if there could be an Australia day update?
The game and most writers are based in the U.S. So most content revolves on things U.S. based. EA is a lil separate entity from the TV Series writers and staff.
I highly doubt that would happen, remember how we were treated when Bart needed to get his a**e kicked. As most of international politics go, Ozzies don’t matter, especially given whom we have to represent us 😉
Um… I was just wondering of the top of my head could EA bring back updates such as clash of clones or stonecutters cause i only started at Christmas and missed out on them, they looked really good!. Thanks for the help this is my favourite website for all my tapped out needs and questions!

Hi, I just have to put in my two cents. I can’t understand people complaining about what they r given for free. Just be grateful and be done with it. I am sure that there r a lot of people who do not purchase donuts, for whatever reason, and this is a nice thing that EA has done for us. Yes, I used donuts in all six of my towns for these islands, but I am still grateful for the free islands. As far as the castle, I really like it and it is reasonably priced. The way I look at it, the game is free, a lot of buildings and characters r free, what’s to complain about? Thank you Bunny, for the calandars to help us know what is needed each day so we can get all the prizes that r GIVEN to us. As my mom would say, “Some people would complain even if they were hung with a new rope.” By the way, I have some awesome neighbors in all my towns. Mary Jo

I am a mostly freemium player but I can see where the premium players are coming from. Its like going out to the store and buying a limited edition of a blu-ray box set and then a week later giving out free copies to everyone else.
That’s cool that Side Show You is up and running again , worth the wait. My first spin was for 65 Krustyland dollars and 5 donuts. WooHoo ! However I was not happy when I spent donuts on one of the islands only to find out I got them for free. Oh well. I hope the glitch I have with Krusty and Mr Teeny fixed as well, that 12 he task was getting a bit annoying. Now it’s time for redesigning !
I bought the island using doughnuts then they gave me them for free so I have lost doughnuts that I could have used on something else very disappointed 😡
Also, is there any unique Canadian content? I know there have been several references on the show, due to numerous Canadian writers associated with the program, but is anything in the game that reflects that, that I’ve missed? Thank you. And I’m sorry.
Hmmmmm… that is tough to say as there is so many things that could work for multiple areas. I mean I haven’t seen a Canadian Flag… but there are things that could be a nod to it.
Enjoyed Christmas! First part a wee bit better than the second, but it was my first, so it was thrilling! Am at level 48… And have nothing to do. Am a daily player, started in the summer of 2014. Any suggestions as what to do with my downtime before the next update? So far I’ve just been sending characters on long tasks, nothing else to do.

My characters are all locked out of buildings for tasks. Is anyone else having this problem?

I am also. I’ve noticed it’s only a certain portion of my Springfield, pretty much the top two rows of land. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, but no change.

Tried on different device, no luck. Tried to store one of the affected buildings and every building, decoration, etc. in the problem area disappeared.
Let me be one more person who finds the gift of islands poorly timed. I willingly spent 120 donuts for the two islands to have the complete look. It is a great connection to the Christmas Episode.
But to then give everyone a set!? What a ridiculous choice.
Their hard core premium players will all be a little tweaked because they now have duplicates and it a weak apology for glitches.
Their fledgling premium players who spent Christmas Gift money for donuts will be really upset because they wasted their donuts and again have duplicates. I think they will be less likely to convert to hard-core premium players after this choice.
The only people who will be happy are fremiuim players. But they are still unlikely to convert and generate future revenue.
Give us a new unique character, give us a discount offer on Lisa’s new castle, give us the option to sell the islands back for 50% in donuts. (I tried, I’m stuck with the white elephant).
Oh well, they will sit in inventory as a reminder of one of EA’s foibles.

Personally I am surprised so many people spent donuts on those small islands. Considering we get a bigger one free and a smaller one for in game cash.
I’m with you, Stu. I’, glad I didn’t waste any doughnuts on silly islands. Now I’ve got them for free. Woo hoo! Cheers for the freemium players (like me).

If anything it should have been the Castle of Equalia for free
people would appreciate that more . It’s nice to get something for free but EA could have done better.
What’s next if I buy the castle of equalia will we get it for free in 6 days later ?

I’ve just bought the castle and Lisa’s new uniform. Couldn’t find the twonicorn but its in my wife’s tapped out! Why is it not in mine? And how do I get it? Done the second queen helvica job and the twonicorn was mentioned but I accidentally skipped it!
Scroll through your menu. When you get right into the menu screen… the first thing that pops is the “recommended” lists and new items. So don’t bother going to the tabs, just scroll to the right… it’s there.

Well you are lucky to have gone to today as the event ended yesterday. Borrowed time beyond that.
That is a great perspective Ana (pizza-high) – it is just a game. But at the same time, there are players who’ve been investing a lot of real $$, as well as perhaps years of regular play, who feel justifiably upset about various aspects of this event. It’s only fair to at least acknowledge their upset as reasonable. 🙂
I agree with you – EA seems to listen to players and make changes that reflect that. Maybe the next event will be a reflection of that too.
Confirming that both Android and Ios are forcing the update now.
So after the latest update when I goto the store menu I have all premium items available to purchase. I’m taking the items I already have, like Barney, the prep school, etc. These items that we should only be able to have one of. After looking thru the menu and going back to my town, all buildings are gone, but the money or menu icon (whatever the payout icon may be) appears and is still tapable. Weirdest glitch ever, haven’t tried purchasing any of the 1 only items yet, not sure what will happen, but it would be cool to have multiples of some things. Anyone know what will happen if I had 2 bowling alleys? Or any of the 1 only items.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app again.

I don’t think anyone is complaining about receiving “free” stuff. What is being complained about is the “free” stuff after probably quite a lot of people paid a lot of donuts for it.

So many people made is seem like we all get donuts because of the recent glltch.
I contacted EA and asked for a refund of 120 donuts. They emailed that the case was closed but no refund. So I guess that means I’m not getting one.
I’ve been chatting with them for 2 days now and was told to reestablish contact on Monday when the speciality techs are in. Part of me feels like I may be getting the run around; however… the squeaky wheel gets the oil (or donuts in this case?) Hopefully.
Building associated character tasks locked for some reason:
legs & Louie 4, 24hr, Selma 4hr, Dolph 4,6,8hr, Artie 60m, 4hr, Smithers 4,16hr, Zutroy 4,24hr.
I just sent everyone on 4hr hour tasks and these are the ones I couldn’t, so there may be more.
I’ve also got this issue with other characters affected as well, princess whatever she’s called and SVT. I wrote a longer comment on the random changes post with other problems I’ve noticed.
I contacted (very nicely) ea about refunding the donuts I spent in my two games for the islands. Here is some of the later conversation:

PankajSpecialist said that Prices change all day every day in all sectors. We can’t provide refunds because someone “would have waited if they knew the price would come down” This is random and the prices can be change anytime.

I was then given 30 – total – donuts. Which is better than nothing, but what am I going to do with two little islands with airplane tails sticking out of them? How often does that happen in the tropics? Unless they were looking for the treasure on Oak Island, probably never. LOL
Funny, I got that same EA rep when i was trying to get my storeload of 900 donuts that i paid for during the Gil deal but didnot recieve after 5 days – and he was also very unhelpfull to me. Even tbough I waited 5 days before contacting EA, he told me to just keep waiting and eventuallly I will get my donuts and then, he closed the case! which made me very angry because the case should only be closed if I got my donuts. He wouldnt offer any help. And so the next day I contacted EA to ask why my case was closed, and the new friendly rep gave me the donuts straight away plus an exra 25 for the inconvenience. – Lucky I didnt take Pankaj advise or I would still be waiting for my donuts!
Honestly, he only “helped” me after I (very nicely) asked for a transcript so I could let the tstoaddicts site know of ea’s decision. Up until that point he was pretty no-can-do.

They are correct on the tool… take a peek at my post below… ALWAYS try for a Call option or request they initiate one for you. Chat… it is hit and miss a lot.

Just got the android force update.
I’m wondering was this a glitch or do ea have a sense of humor after the dialogue when homer says we are 0 and ones the game crashed then reloaded without me pressing anything, nice to get free islands I bought 3 of the freemium ones to go with the last reward before the event ended so it was nice to get a few more for free, so we have islands that do nothing I’m wondering if this is building up to some sort of island quest ? Where we get to use the islands

So now you have extra island. Others have one and you have two!
Having two would be nice if they generated income or had tasks associated with them. As it is, they just take up precious water property.. Glad I didn’t spend any donuts to get them.
I’ve read through post and haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, though I could have missed it. But suddenly I can’t put my characters on jobs in Moes, the Stonecutter Lodge or the farm. I’ve put them in storage and taken them out, but no difference. I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this? I’m hoping yes so I know it will be fixed…:)
I have not run into that myself. Have you tried some troubleshooting?
I have tried some troubleshooting Bunny. Actually a poster above (tommy) probably described it better about the task being locked. All the task that are locked for me appear to be 4 hours. I came across another one but can’t remember which building it was now.
Try a complete uninstall and reinstall of the app if you haven’t yet to see if that helps.
Not experiencing this myself, I have just sent Springfieldians on tasks, no problem I noticed with Moe’s… 🙁 Hope for resolution soon for you:)
