Update 7pm EDT: If you’re just downloading both the App Store update and the Easter Update at the same time the Easter update will start up first. However, get past the initial dialogue with Ned & Homer first and then get past the Gil Dialogue and the Mystery Box questline should start up. However, now Mr. Burns MUST be free to trigger it. It will no longer auto start. So make sure Mr. B is free and you should see the ! to start it.
Update: It appears this update has pulled the ability to purchase the Beach House…it’s not listed in the store. It should be there. Will contact EA once I leave work to see what’s going on with it.
Also, a report from a lovely Tapper, AnothrAddict, Brandine’s quest with Valentine’s Day has been skipped over. Here’s their comment: “Heads up For those who didn’t complete the st paddys quest b/c of brandine….it skipped over her today and moved on to part 7. Yay I was waiting to end of event before I sped her birth (so weird to say) so now I can spend doughnuts on new mystery box and/or Easter stuff.” I have no way to verify this myself so if it’s working for you now please let us know.

Gil: Ol’ Gil fell on some hard times. I moved into a shipping container and got shopped to Polynesia. The plus side is I traded the container for this Polynesian god. Celebrate Easter with something new and Gil can celebrate with a hot ham plate.
Homer: Polynesian god? That’s nonsense! Easter is about a bunny that lays eggs and a guy who comes back to life. Hmm, that sounds pretty ridiculous too. Maybe this new god has something going. What’s his philosophy on church attendance?
Lisa: Um, Dad. Mom said you weren’t allowed to change religions again without consulting her.
Polynesian God: No church!
Homer: Woohoo!
Polynesian God: Just back breaking labor to create giant stone statues in my honor, which I will then grade and use to rank you.

I got the stupid itchy and scratchy board (40 donuts) in the mystery box

And all the time I spent zapping bunnies last year… Will get to load up on a few more fences I guess, but pretty much stocked up on everything last year
So many returning items from last year… and NO BEACH TOWEL?! That’s the one I was hoping to get! Somehow I went through the entire event last year and didn’t win a single one!
Also Chirpy Boy and Bart Junior would have been cool, but still… moar beach towel pls.

Uhm OK, that’s it? No bunny hunting? No easter eggs? No easter egg baskets, with awful trade rate for neighbors? No hiding these baskets behind buildings to trick neighbors in to the trade, if they wanted to tap the building?

Might be that I lost some neighbors, but no one would have used the baskets … that helped a little and I had my loughs 😛
I too sent Homer on the blue haired lawyer task. Spent 24 donuts plus the free box and got the blue haired lawyer, two news vans, bomb shelter and Lard Lad. Love the bargains.
So my free mystery box got me the fire tire – awesome! Then attempted my luck at more…while I got a few non-premium items, managed to get SVT, Kearney, blue haired lawyer, a few billboards, tree lard lad donuts, two channel 6 news van, two boxes with ten donuts and one with thirty. Not bad.
I got a free news van with my free mystery box (40 donuts) that was awesome. Thanks EA just when I thought u were cheap u go and do something like this and totally redeem yourself
While I was really hoping for the chance to zap bunnies (no, not you, Bunny! 😉 ) I am still pleased to see last year’s Easter stuff coming back, and am especially pleased at all of the freemium selections, especially the pastel fences (I got only four of those last year).
I got a bit addicted to that mystery box. Got 90 donuts and Blue Haired Lawyer and Kearney.The Lard Lad shop and the burning tyre place too. I also got a bunch of rubbishy things too but worth it overall.
I noticed that the two Radioactive Man cut-scenes have been added to the other videos we can watch.
I got screwed on the free mystery box from Mr. Burns. My item only cost $760…. 🙁 was hoping for something cool
But I got Johnny Fiestas right away! So…yay

Yeah my free one was a bomb shelter so yeah but I am still happy that I got 2 things worth 130 donuts for only 12. That kinda makes up for not getting a free premium item.

Yayyy… with Shary Bobbins and Hugs Bunny I finally have all the playable characters I want… so now I’m bored.
As if… but shouldn’t they have come with questlines? I got nothing with them.
A side note… the only two playable characters I don’t want have been the two July 4th presidents, as they’re not Springfield residents/visitors so have no place in my town. For the same reason I’m not interested in the Easter Island head… unless I’m forgetting something?

I couldn’t be happier about this update! The very first episode of The Simpsons my friends introduced me to back in middle school was the one with Sherry Bobbins, so I’ve been coveting her for months and months. She’s hugely nostalgic for me. I wasn’t able to purchase her last year and I’ve been regretting it ever since. I was praying that she’d be included in an Easter update. Hooray!
Also, I’m not one to comment much on this blog — I’m mostly an observer — but I want to give my kudos and gratitude to the writers/creators. This is an *excellent* website, not just for its timely information and user-friendly feel, but also the warmth and personality that you guys exude. It’s a pleasure to visit every day.

Amazing update on the mystery boxes!! I received the blue-haired lawyer to start it off, then won the News Van for my last day of the weekly prizes. I then purchased boxes and won the following : 10 donuts, 30 donuts, 2 bomb shelters, 2 Lard Lad Donuts, 2 Chalmers cars, Tire Fire, 2 Khlav Kalash Stands, Kearney, 2 minnow ponds, Itchy and Scratchy billboard and a 2nd news van!! 🙂

I have mixed emotions about this Gil deal. On the one hand, I’m I really happy to have the chance to get the items I missed during last year’s Easter event. All three items that those infuriating boxes denied me are now available… Hugs Bunny, Shary Bobbins and Johnny Fiestas. On the other hand, it’s not fair that some items have not been included. For instance, Chirpy Boy and Bart Jr., that my Sweetheart Em Cha didn’t get last Easter are not included in this deal. It’s kinda hard to completely enjoy getting all my missing items when I know other Tappers haven’t been given the same opportunity 🙁

I noticed a few are still missing…it’s odd what they choose to bring back and what they left out.
So the stuff that I spent a month “earning” randomly from Easter baskets last year can now be bought for about as much in-game cash as I get from one round of collecting from buildings and characters? That’s just… I don’t even know what to say to that. Wow!
That’s the way it goes…a year later the stuff is available for cold hard cash.
Yeah, true. I just don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger disparity between how difficult they were to earn the first time around and how easily they could be bought the second time around. That was a frustrating event last year.
I’m happy to be able to get Johnny Fiesta’s this time around, though, so at least there’s that.
I remember one gp of players last year won the blocko building and the other group won the johnny building. But the johnny building is now available for so cheap a price while blocko needs donuts..
