Update 8:30am EDT 5/26: Yup, the event is still in our towns. Looks like my note indicated below about the app store removal is what will be required to officially remove it from our towns. I expect an update to hit sometime between 12pm-2pm (EDT),as that’s when they usually hit. For now you have a couple extra hours of Terwilligers….

Well, we’ve finally reached the end of the Terwilliger’s Event! And I know some of you will be thrilled to go back to normal and others will be wishing for one more day.
I know there’s a lot of questions about WHEN the Event actually ends (since the Farming License Shows longer on it’s counter than others)…here’s my take: It ends TOMORROW at 0800GMT (4am EDT)
I’d rather see everyone play it safe then end up sorry they missed out. So assume EVERYTHING ends tomorrow. Use up all of your crafting resources for what you want TODAY. Buy those premium items you want TODAY. Finish collecting those Act 3 prizes TODAY.
Don’t chance it until tomorrow. Finish everything you can TODAY, anything extra will be a bonus.
Note: Terwilligers will require an App Store update to completely remove from our games. Not 100% sure if this means you can artificially extend the event by delaying downloading the update. In the past it has, but this event is a little different. There’s timers built in associated with crafting and the prizes…so it’s up to you if you want to take that chance…personally I wouldn’t.

Sideshow Bob
In order to unlock Sideshow Bob you HAVE to finish the Act 2 questline. In order to finish it you WILL NEED Mrs. Krabappel & Mayor Quimby in your game. For newer players, you may miss out. I suggest you contact EA and complain A LOT.
For older players…you MUST complete this questline to unlock him. So if you have both Mrs. K and Mayor Quimby you’re probably stalled somewhere else (and from what I’ve seen it’s usually upgrading Monsarno) you do HAVE TO upgrade Monsarno to Level 8 for the Act 2 questline.
Here’s a look at the quick walkthrough for Act 2. If you’re missing Sideshow Bob check it out and compare it with what you have in your task book…see where you’re stuck…
Otherwise you will miss out on Sideshow Bob…
Cecil and his Tasks
Cecil Terwilliger should become a full playable character once the event ends. We won’t know for sure 100% until it ends but I think at this point it’s a safe bet…
As far as Cecil’s tasks. TODAY is the last day for them…it doesn’t look like we’ll see any at the 12am reset (of course i could be wrong, and if you see them (our Aussie friends) let me know). So if you don’t finish them today you won’t get credit for them..
So my friends…that’s it on the Terwilliger’s Event. And I REALLY hope you heed my advice…get everything you want TODAY because most likely it’ll be gone tomorrow. Don’t sit on crafting materials hoping for an extension…USE THEM. Otherwise you will regret it.

Hi all
I play in South Africa (Central African Time or GMT+1). The event ended here at 10am this morning but it’s now 12pm (6am in New York) and mutant veggies/seedlings etc are still around – and no update available or required as yet….
Cecil’s daily tasks still happening and still able to craft items for now – although at the bottom of the crafting screen it now says…
‘Event Ending! Craft Prizes Now!’
Not sure how long this will continue so although I’m ready for it to be over I can’t stop trying to get just 1 or 2 more items (mayb a 4th opera seat &/or a 3rd cane field…😄) & a last attempt for bonuts!!!

Well it’s 6 am here and nothing has been changed
Well it’s 11AM BST (12 GMT) here in London and the event is still running. I was just able to craft a couple of last items (which I didn’t really need by why waste the currency?) and despite refreshing the app store I’ve not seen an update become available. But no evidence of any sort of ‘formal’ extension. Has it become a zombie event? 🙂
How to serve filet mignon on a dirty rubbish can lid – extend the event indefinitely without warning so that all the crafting materials needed for the bigger items are used up on smaller, less valuable items and who knows if there will be time to rebuild the material needed for bigger items. Just a little communication on Sunday would have made everyone happy instead of angry as &()£.
I agree with you. I enjoyed my “bonus” time and got an extra flower wall, but if I had missed out on the houseboat or farmers market I would be mad right now. A little communication from EA was all people needed. Why is that so hard?
And for the people who are venting at Alissa, stop it! She puts in so much time to help us play better. She helped me tons with the advice on how much to upgrade. EA leaves her and the other addicts guessing just like everybody else. Thank you, Alissa!!

Ahhhh it’s now over an hour since the event was supposed to end but still no update! I never managed to craft the gas ‘n’ grub, and assuming that the update would clear everything out this morning I stopped trying to earn DNA yesterday. However I could probably have managed it by now if I’d have known they wouldn’t be updating when they said they would!! Plus I don’t want to send any of my characters on long tasks now in case they’re needed after the event so I’m just having to take it hour by hour. Looks like it’s going to be a long morning…..
Finally it’s ending!!!!
I had a slow start for this event as I was busy for the first act and missed out on a lot of prizes. Act 2 went great for me but I was still crafting some of the act 1 stuff that I missed out on! But then I was busy again for act 3 and it was stressing me out!!
Managed to get the Farmers Market, Gas and Grub, the Simpson Houseboat and squeeze in the Smokehouse all in act 3 as well as the last bonus round for donuts this morning.
I really need a break now. Hoping there won’t be an even for a while as I lost a lot of money by sending my springfielders to earn material instead and spent abit to unlock new characters to earn more material.
I have to say that superheroes is still my favourite event so far.
It looks like things are continuing.. I don’t care, I’m sending Myan Homer on a Corn Eating Binge :p
May 26th 5:28am EST – Cecil Daily Tasks-1hr so far. If my other source is correct, it should be 1,1,1,4 for tasks for the day.
At the time of posting, it is about 10:30 AM here in the UK, there is no update in the Google Play Store, and when I go into my town I can still send the characters on tasks, squish clones and I have daily tasks. Under the crafting section there is no timer, it simply says “Event Ending-Craft Items Soon!”.
Usually doesn’t hit until 12pm-2pm EDT…
Well, the clock has run out and the event is still running. Like a bad guest that keeps saying they’re going but never leaves.
So now where there was a countdown timer at the bottom of Act Three Prizes it says, “Check back soon for more.” MORE? I don’t know if I can take much more of this event!

The event should have ended at 3 a.m. local time for me. I had several characters on tasks that would end between 12:30 and 1:oo a.m. that I needed in order to be able to craft the Homer Decoy. (I was short less than 20 DNA!) So, of course, I fell asleep at about midnight, woke up at about 3:45 a.m. and rushed to my phone. I was able to craft the Homer Decoy, and then I had a Cecil daily task waiting to be started (4 hours). I suspect there may be a little time left. If there’s enough time, I just need about 2,000 fertilizer to be able to craft a second Farmer’s Market. I’ve decided to start the Bart episode tie-in quest, and the other quests I put on hold, and see what happens.

Long time lurker, first time commenter. Thanks for keeping me sane during this (and previous) events! I am so glad to be seeing the end of this one. I feel so drained, completely exhausted, I don’t even want to look at TSTO for at least a week (but you know I will…) I’m glad Sideshow Bob has finally joined our game in a more permanent fashion, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the event in general.
It’s currently 6.42pm in Melbourne, Australia (42 mins past the end of the counter) and you can still finish tasks and squish Bobs and what not. So I assume that means you can keep earning and crafting until the update hits. I managed to get the Farmers Market, Gas & Grub, Simpsons Houseboat, Sani smoker thingie and 2x cane sugar. I’m pretty happy with that, and am not going to try to stretch for anything else.
I wonder what they’ve got for us next…!??!?! (Hopefully some down time!)
Well I’ve just managed to craft all the prizes I actually wanted. Somedays the daily tasks were just too hard to get them all done in time. Not a big fan of the events where you have to craft prizes, would’ve preferred a set of community prizes.
Overall I think this event has been ok but not one of my favourites.
Event was supposed to end 25 minutes ago, but it’s still there. Not sure if I’m artificially extending it or not as I haven’t updated, but haven’t been asked to, but it appears you can continue to earn currency and craft. It now says “Event Ending, Craft Items Now!” but no timer. I know a lot of people have been complaining about this event, but personally I’m about 600 masks short of the houseboat and was a little bummed I didn’t get it, so I’d be totally okay with an extra day or two to earn it. Also! As I write this the premium items are still available in store and now just say “Limited Time!” with no timers.
The timer just ran off on my game (5 AM here, as in previous events), but the knife trophy is still there, Monsarno and the Opera Stage are still earning music notes and I still have characters on tasks to earn crafting currency. I hope this means we’ll have some more time to craft stuff – fertilizer and DNA have been very slow to stock up on lately. I would craft a few more Monsarno flower walls, but I already have more crafted stuff than I need anyway (only craft item I passed up on is the Welcome Bob sign).

Arghhhh!!!!!! END NOW AS PROMISED you sleep depriving exhausting event! I just spent 9 donuts on a cane field because i was so close to the deadline and didnt want to miss out. If i had another 2 hours i would have earned enough fertilizer to craft it for free. And now the deadline has passed and replaced by a vague “event ending soon”. So far nothing has changed In the game. I regret wasting 9 donuts 🙁
Spent the couple donuts to get the 4th wall, and crafted an extra ticket booth and seats I didn’t really want but had the materials for (forgot to add the sani-john to items I’d crafted previously). The timer ran out and it still says “event ending, craft prizes now”. Tried rebooting the game and still have bobs wandering around. If we do get extra time I may try for another cactus patch or two, though I’m pretty much at zero now with the materials. Except for corn, so much corn.

9.10am here in the UK and no takedown of the event yet. I didn’t bother starting Cecil’s tasks for today even though it is prompting me to. I’ll check the play store for an update again in a few hours!
It looks like we’ve been given a short grace period. I even have mutant Bobs still popping up!
Overall, I think this event was just too long. It wasn’t horrible. It felt like two weeks per act was too long.
I liked that there was a focus on Sideshow Bob and Cecil but their storyline wasn’t worth 6 weeks. The additional characters of the Superhero storyline felt like they contributed more to subsequent acts but here they didn’t.
I pretty much finished with this one yesterday afternoon, I crafted everything I wanted and got one last donut bonus and knew that i couldn’t earn enough for anything else in the the time. I’m really impressed, I’m a strictly freemium player and managed to get everything bar the Sideshow Bob sign, the flower boxes and the cactus patch without spending any hardearned donuts. Even better I now have enough for Barney, and have been saving buying him until the event ends.
I’ve got about 45 minutes left on my timer and am deciding whether or not to spend 2 donuts to get a 4th flower wall…I feel stupid because I hit my limit yesterday evening and decided to stop grinding early, thinking I wouldn’t be anywhere close to getting enough fertilizer overnight, so went back to earning money. Apparently a ton of the bobs in my town this morning yielded fertilizer, and I’m really close.
I’m overall happy with the event, although it was tedious at times. I earned all of the prizes and was able to craft 3 flower walls, 1 cactus patch, 4 cane fields, the decoy, the houseboat, the gas and grub, and the farmer’s market. I’m really pleased with that haul, although I do feel that the materials required for things like the flower walls are exceedingly high, even after the price cut.
I caved yesterday and got Francesca and Gino at my husband’s urging…I was fine skipping them but he promised me more donuts and I’m enjoying Francesca’s tasks so far, and I like having complete families. Here’s hoping Cecil does become a playable character 🙂
Interesting to who cares. But Cecil’s task just rolled over I was waiting for the last hour just in case something changed before I crafted and I saw this… maybe not over I don’t know, but thought I’d share. We’ll see in 30/ 40 mins or so.
