Before we get into the Open Thread, a quick note. I’m off in Virginia today celebrating my nephew’s 3rd Brithday. So there won’t be a Should I Buy posted for Big Butt Skinner Balloon. Instead I’ll just give you a quick rundown on the important details…it’s a decoration and you guys know when it comes to decorations I have a hard time telling you what you should or shouldn’t get. It’s a personal preference kinda thing. Anyway, here’s the basics…
Conform: Vanity +400
Bonus %: 2% Bonus on all cash and XP
Can be Placed: Springfield, Squidport and Krustyland
Size: 2×2
What Does it Do: floats, but does not get airborne (it’s tied down). When tapped it makes an air being let out of a balloon noise. And when you buy it Skinner says “this is the worst thing to return to Springfield since my mother.” Beyond that, nothing else. I’m probably passing on this one. It’s a little to pricey for what it does and the bonus % it gives. (Usually 40 donuts gets you 2%) but if you like it and want it, grab it. That’s why I think decorations are a personal choice….

Alissa wanted to let you know I figured out bridges/lights (breath a sigh of relief, I can quit driving you crazy)! I worked on it & looked through all my neighbor’s towns, and want I wanted to do, I don’t think is possible. I wanted lights around river/grass area, looks like you have place with road(hence bridge lol).
DRATS, well at least I can quit obsessing on lights!

I have 2 accounts and had collected over 100 donuts on both accounts. My grandchildren came to stay so I allowed Stewart to look after my second account. He bought the yes man for 100 donuts. When Gilson offers came he didn’t have enough to get anything. I had 145 donuts and bought a golden scratch card giving me 50 more I bought the boy and girl bullies. I had 75 donuts left and bought 2 more gold cards was not as lucky this time getting 6 and 15 in each but enough to buy duff stadium. Not as lucky on my second account bought one gold card only got 6 donuts and gave would have like the school bus have it on my main account. Q
Is anyone else encountering a few bugs in the last day or so. I saw that other players were reporting that their tasks weren’t clearing once done (unless they went into a neighbours town and returned), but today I reached day 5 on my daily prize, I tapped the button to collect my Burns Mystery Box, and got nothing. I tried the visit neighbour trick, but that didn’t work either.
Any other bugs people have found?

Hi, i have an issue and i hope this is the right place to ask about it. I got Jessica Lovejoy when she first came out and completely finished her questline and unlocked all of her tasks then suddenly when the last big event loaded her 4hr task of heckling fat people has gone dark and says it needs a quest to unlock, even though I had previously finished the questline and unlocked that task! Also, after the last update for the school sale over the weekend when i complete a quest task in the task list it just sits there saying its done and wont completely leave the menu unless I visit one of me neighbours towns and come back. Also new tasks dont seem to be triggering, for example i bought Shauna and completed her task to hassle the ducks (had to visit neighbour to clear it) and nothing else has triggered yet, same with Dr. Marvin Monroe, finished pshyoanalyse milhouse, visited neighbour to clear it and nothing new has popped up. Was wondering it anyone else was having similar issues and what I can do about it. Thanks in advance

As far as Jessica’s task. Try storing and replacing All Night Gym. If that doesn’t work contact EA and let them know what happened. This happened to another player recently as well.
The most annoying thing ever has just happened! I’ve been sat on 72 donuts all week and not had any from friend visits for days so as a freemium player I’ve not been able to get any of the gills deals even though I really wanted Shauna. Then today I’ve gone and won 30 donuts in mystery box bringing me up to 102 donuts and obviously it would be typical that it is a day too late to get Shauna! Thought about getting stadium but I prefer to get characters so I might regret getting the stadium if they release a really good character sometime in the next few weeks so might just hang tight and see what ea has got planned!!!
I’ve been there. It seems my donuts are often to late for me to take advantage of deals/offers, I’m just unlucky like that.
My game’s quests have been frozen since yesterday afternoon. Has anyone figured out what is going on? And when it’s going to be fixed?

I’m having issues, any advice would be appreciated. So, I just finished 3 older quests – pay 2 of stupid, sexy, flanders, part 3 of queen Helvetia and the 4th part of barts shadow knight. None of them will let me go to the next part of the quest. They ate sitting on the left side of the screen, they all say completed but nothing is happening. Any ideas? ? Ty!!
Try going to Krustyland and coming back. If that doesn’t work, there’s a glitch going around I think. So if it doesn’t work I would contact EA and let them know

Flanders isn’t going anywhere; just Harry Shearer and his voices, which still stinks but it’s his choice. The producers have made it clear that the characters aren’t going anywhere.
Having missed the episode tie-in by starting to play a month later and not knowing how or why I missed the yard sale in 2014, I wish they would bring back the Cool brown house again. I have been wanting it for a very long time since I first saw it and It would be a nice to have another unique design to breakup the monotony of the same 5 house designs that are everywhere like the character houses do. And I didn’t even know it came with a skin for homer until I searched on this wonderful site for this house.

howdy ho! I have a question about Cecil. I’ve noticed that in some of my neighbour’s towns, he’s walking around with a heart sign. But none of the tasks I send him on has him doing that. I’m guessing that it may be his 24hr ‘Run For Mayor’ task —and judging by some of the comments here, Cecil is not supposed to walk around & do nothing? Is it a glitch or am I missing something? Thnx!
That’s his Make Amends task from the event, but it should have been pulled once the event is over. So not sure where they’re getting it from.
His Mayor task, currently there are no visuals assigned with it, nor is there a location.
I’m a bit over the few characters that don’t have 24 hour missions. Wouldn’t it be cool if during the break between special events, I can send all my characters on 24 hour jobs and just check in once a day!

But think of the XP you’d lose by doing that! I almost never do a task shorter than 12 hours….the only time I ever use the 24-hour tasks is when a questline requires them. (Plus, with a 24-hour task, you run the risk of being a day behind if a new event should hit.)
Matt Groening has a 24-hour task, but it requires Homer. As for Mr Teeny, any other tasks would be nice.

My husband is a big soccer fan, so by default yes I’ve been watching it lol
I like it when EA does these little “mini” events between large events that don’t require much effort. I think they should do it more often though. Would love to see some of the really old items returning (like those from the episode tie-ins, specifically Springfield Falls lol). This way newer players get an opportunity to get these items while others can save up cash and go about the normal leveling up.
Should I buy Kamp Krusty? It’s a good deal right now with Gil’s offer, but I already have a premium skin for Bart (Bartman and his cave). Many of my neighbors have it, so I can enjoy it from afar. For those that have it, is it worth having?
I think Kamp Krusty looks rustic and inviting so I wanted it for my forest park. There are some cool outdoor tasks for Bart, but most of the time I send him skateboarding anyway. I don’t think it’s a Must buy, but if you can fit it into your design it could be fun.
Good value, many people love it. OTOH, 4th of July is around the corner and who knows what may be offered – or what may not be availabile?
if you got that premium combo already, then probably not. here’s what i wrote in the other thead:
“while kamp krusty is tempting, it’s still 130 for a building+skin combo. when i compare this to what i paid for the iconic/epic/classic bartman skin and his cave (60 + 55 = 115), there’s just no way i can justify kamp krusty, regardless of the original cost. besides, i already have a campground in my town that i built from scratch, and it arguably looks better than kamp krusty…”
Hmm, after the questline, I think only Bart uses the Kamp. I like the look of it and his tasks are amusing (especially burning Krusty in effigy), but I am not sure if I would buy it if I did it all over again.
Louis, I don’t know if it’s still in the store, but I love the tasks for Bart. Most of the time I’m sending my characters out for 4 hours and I almost always send Bart to go on a rampage. In fact, I almost always leave Bart in this skin. I do not have Bartman so I can’t compare but I think Kamp Bart rocks!
Thanks everyone. I went to bed without buying it. I didn’t have any responses yet here at that time and I figured if I had to ask if I should buy it, then I didn’t really need/want it. I’ve been trying to curtail my donut spending to only things that I really want. Well, if I decide to get it, I’ll wait until ‘Black Friday’ and see if Gil discounts it again then.
I’d like to see Maggie as an actual character. That and more land expansions
Here’s something I’ve been wondering about. I always thought when neighbors tapped a building in your town, it reset the clock. Lately I’ve been checking and have noticed a big descrepency in the times. A neighbor will tap 3 buildings and 1 will be two hours ahead, and the other two will show nothing. Today my husband didn’t check his town until late, and I told him at least I had tapped on his 12 hour buildings 8 hours ago, but all three buildings when he cleared them read “11hr 59 seconds”. Maybe I don’t understand the whole clock setting thing. If someone taps one of my brown houses, and I discover it ten minutes later, shouldn’t the rent come up immediately? (it doesn’t)
I thought the same thing. It’s why I try to find buildings with long timers to tap when I visit other towns if possible to help the neighbor most if they happen to be away from the game for awhile. I mean, after all, is that what “helping” means when helping your neighbors. They still have to tap your handshake to clear it, so it is not saving them any taps, if it doesn’t reset the timer, then it really doesn’t help them at all.
I also noticed the buildings with short timers, don’t seem to get reset either.
Hey Louis -I actually learned about the whole reset thing by noticing your style of visiting. At first I used to think, “Louis must somehow know I’m a teacher, because he’s always tapping my school.” Then my husband and I used to wonder what it was that attracted you to Just Rainsticks. I finally put it together and it was an Aha! moment. I still laugh about how clueless I was! So now, I do the same, look for the school, Rainsticks, etc. in my other neighbors’ towns, and wonder if any of them are like I used to be, and are thinking, “I wonder why Janis likes my wax museum so much?”
I think what Gk3 said below makes sense. This morning I collected from my 8 hr and 12 hour buildings with handshakes, and all showed just a few hours before I could collect again, which was great. My 3 hr tapped on buildings either showed no time difference or a few minutes remaining. I bet it was like Gk3 said, and I may have passed the 3 hr reset time, but collected double. Next time I’ll pay more careful attention to the payout. Anyhow thanks for teaching me about how to help neighbors by being a good example of a neighbor yourself!
I have an actual file (some day to be a spreadsheet for TSTOaddicts topix if they give me more of a breather between events) on this very thing. Admittedly it’s woefully behind with all the new event buildings and has some gaps like the COC castles when I wasn’t yet playing (Addicts and Wiki helped a lot) but for me it’s almost a trophy hunt with Stonecutter’s Lodge at the top with a 7 day reset. Krabappel Apts, Burns Manor, the Courthouse, and Up, Up Buffet are all 2day resets. The unemployment office, Spinster City apts and Turban Outfitters are 1.5 days. I was already updating my file but this thread could just inspire me to finally make that long overdue spreadsheet and make good on my promise to Minicha.
Yep, those are the buildings I try to target when visiting neighbors. There are times when I’m pressed for time and I may not be able to search each town for them, but generally that’s my goal.
I hadn’t considered what Gk3 said was happening was happening. Hmm… That’s interesting and does make sense.
That was always my assumption. I envisioned an hour glass and that when a friend tapped the money was collected and the hour glass was turned over again; clearing the taps was simply pulling the cash out from under the draining hour glass. On the other hand, I have never tested it to be true.
I thought the timer sets from when you clear the tap. Same as when you collect from a building that a friend hasn’t been tapped. The timer starts when you clear the previous collection.
But if they don’t reset if the person doesn’t tap them within their reward time.
So if your neighbour taps a 12 hour building and you check 10 hours later, the reward will be in 2 hours, but if you check 13 hours later, it’ll reset to 12 hours, but with extra cash.

I actually think it was some 8 hr buildings I tapped in my husband’s town, and that’s why when he checked them 8 hours later, there wasn’t any time difference. (And he didn’t notice if there was an increased payout.). I hesitated posting, because I thought this was sort of a silly topic, but the more I know about this game, the more I like it, so thanks for your explanation.
my guess is there is some kinda programming bug/glitch thing going on that causes the discrepancies, as i’m pretty sure it’s supposed to work how you always thought. i wonder the issue has some thing to do with all the double handshakes i’ve been seeing on buildings lately…..

House prices went up after Superheros. That was something EA did, no one knows for sure why…the only speculation is to prevent house farming.
My Homer has a 60 min task at the top of his tasks to “Hide”. Anyone know what this is from? It’s not a part of any quest I have going on, I don’t know what it’s from and it’s kind of bothering me because it’s out of place.
I think it is from a MoneyMountain level and will stay until Burns Burns the requisite amount of cash.
Not that I see, I’m on level 9. The only task other than the money was to make Smithers wander aimlessly.
apologies for bringing this up in yet another open thread, but i have made the decision to part ways with neighbors that tag my town unnecessarily. tagging has never been a big deal for me, but i can’t say i was ever particularly pleased with visitors that can’t be bothered to swipe around a bit to tap an open building.
however, the main reason i’ve gone with the no-tag “policy” is due to my battle with the object count. i’ve been pushing 7050 objects, so i’m constantly going into edit mode and hiding different layers to find each and every object that has ended up completely hidden behind other objects on the map. and every time i do that i’m faced with training walls hidden behind buildings everywhere, like a blight on my town that’s impervious to my minimization attempts. i’ve already utilized several training walls in my designs, so the fact i even have to hide any is frustrating enough. on top of that, i’ve been getting tagged fairly frequently since the terwilligers event ended, and have twice now had to add more training walls to offset a decrease in my righteousness rating. considering i’ve never removed any of the hidden walls i’ve placed around my town, i really did not expect to have to add any more at any point in the future.
unsure of how the whole righteousness system actually works and when, if ever, i’ll be able to remove some of those hidden walls, i’d prefer not having to deal with graffiti. so to all my neighbors that comment and lurk on this site, thank you for your understanding. i’ll do my best to make sure there is always something open to tap.
Tapebelt!! I hope you don’t mean me! For the first time in over a year of playing, I accidentally hit a spray can in your town. I felt awful and posted on the anti graffiti page explaining. I’m pretty sure you’re talking about something else, but just in case… you have too nice town for anyone to mess up.
i don’t even remember you ever tagging me, but i certainly wouldn’t trip about it if you did; the neighbors that “i know” (those that comment on this site) i cut way more slack than those i don’t (lurkers), just like they will always get higher priority when it comes to adding friends. and if you were doing it repeatedly for some reason and i had a problem with it, i would ask you about it on here before doing anything drastic, because i know you’ll see my comment. the same can’t be said for my lurking neighboreenos, so i’m pretty quick to drop them if i have an issue…. it IS just a game after all, so it doesn’t bother me, especially when i have other people waiting to be neighbors. if there is some mistake or misunderstanding, that person is always free to come on here and let me know about it, or even re-send me a friend invite (one neighbor did that, i remembered his name, and quickly added him back). if i don’t hear anything or they can’t be bothered to do that… well, i’ve probably made the right decision then.
I have accidently hit a few spray cans but I don’t think we are friends. Sometimes my big fingers just hit it. …I try to NOT graffiti anyone but once in awhile, it happens. I will go back to a place later if there’s nothing else to tap. Just out of curiosity, what do the training walls have to do with it?? Thanks, j
Training walls add righteousness points to your town (10 per wall). So when someone spray paints you the training wall negates the effect of the drop in righteousness
While I am not pushing any object limits, I understand. I cleaned off four non-performers last week and replaced them with what seemed to me to be good bets. I was right on three but one of them insists on blatantly ignoring dollar signs to tag my buildings. I had to add a few more training walls to compensate. Time for thee squeeky wheel to get scrapped and replaced.
I feel the same way. I have a good stock pile of money and have now all together stopped tapping on any buildings in my Springfield that don’t have handshakes. And people still graffiti me. GRRR! I have zero hidden training walls in my town and easily maintain a solid 5 star town without struggle. But since Terwilligers ended I noticed that Rightousness has become really sensitive to grafitti (I’ve contemplated storing the buildings that can be graffitied, but that’ll take away prime characters from my game, which is no Bueno!). Even with my Rightousness dropping to half a star my town still stays at 4.5 stars. With an overall multiplier at 150+ I’m okay with that. Though my OCD kills me when it dropps, I have deleted two neighbors that just don’t get it!! I sent you a friend request! Your name was pretty obvious. I’ll never graffiti you even as a last resort.
I tag as a last resort, but that includes checking KL and coming back. Of course that excludes the accidental tap in a dense area.
added! and you’re a better person than me, cuz a drop in my ratings is simply unacceptable! pretty much what led me to this decision in the first place.
I’ve been adding walls and culled a neighbor recently, too.
I (DearthNadir) have adopted the same policy, at 152, and a somewhat premium player, I have more than enough buildings to tap. People I have added to my town are ONLY from the “I pledge not to tap” list, yet lately daily I am getting tapped on Moe’s Tavern, and other spray can locations.
I know both myself and my father (who plays) had our Righteousness drop from 5 stars to 1 star recently and I know that I don’t really have people that tag my town. I think I’ve seen maybe 2-3 a week, if that. My father has a very low neighbor count and his dropped rapidly – it seemed almost overnight that it went from 5 to 1. I thought it might be a bug/glitch – but when I checked the posts this morning there wasn’t anyone else bringing it up.
That just happens sometimes, especially if you don’t have a bunch of training walls. Don’t worry – the righteousness will eventually creep back up.
Thank you for the reminder. I don’t believe I’ve tagged your buildings though I have done on a couple other neighbours this past week. As it didn’t bother me at all, sometimes I forget, and I’ve not added people specifically from the non-graffiti thread. I’ve been struggling to visit anyone at all this week tbh as I’m busy directing a play which is on in a few days! I’ll be back to being a better neighbour soon!

I had been maxed out on righteousness for a while now, since I also have a lot of hidden training walls. I checked recently and I was down a star or two, so I started sending everyone to jail. I think those Terwilligers are just bad! I am back up to five on R. I am up against the item limit too–because of trees and flowers, not anything coming close to your awesome 3D effects!
I don’t know if you’ll see this or not, but your town is my favorite out of almost 100 neighbors. I just remarked to my husband today that you have the right balance of 3D and decorations – not too much of either. I’m sorry to hear you are at the limit, because I aspire to have a town like yours, and also don’t want to approach “the limit.” Thank you, Bangles!
I agree with you. All my neighbours are totally considerate – any new friends that come along that tag 3 times in a row I lose as I guess its going to be their regular behaviour. I just don’t like cleaning up graffiti.
I don’t think all players realise that you need to keep buildings available to tap – this was something I missed until recently. For myself, if there are no buildings I visit KL, and if there’s nothing there, I move on. I’ve tagged accidentally twice this year and feel terrible when I’ve done it.
The sudden swings of the righteousness meter are a mystery to me. I suddenly lost half a point yesterday and had to install more training walls for no apparent reason. One thing I have noticed is that for those neighbours who still have Sideshow Bob as a villain not a character, the message requesting him to be tapped on comes up in the incorrect town, or does not come up at all. I know this has a negative effect on me as I don’t search a town in case I happen to see Bob racing round rather than carrying out a task.
Something that had a positive effect was cleaning up graffiti in a friend’s town by tapping a broom over a vandalised building but I have not seen this for months and don’t know if this is still an option.
gosh I hope that wasn’t me and if it was it truly was an accident! I actually go out of my way to not tag as I know some players are sensitive about it but I don’t mind it in my own town. If it was me I am very sorry it won’t happen again *hugs*

On the one hand I am excited by the prospect of a new event coming this week, especially since the last couple haven’t followed the “whatever holiday is on the calendar this month” approach. So if it does happen, it could be anything. However, I have been appreciating the downtime to earn some extra cash (aiming for the Krusty oilrig) now that the last few events have really increased the number of characters I have in my Springfield.
Would also like the Skinner balloon. It’s from a classic episode that I remember and love (“there’s a 4 in the morning now?” -Bart), but the price is just a little too steep. Oh well, maybe it will come around again sometime when I have more doughnuts to spend.
One technical question. Does TSTO only work on certain devices? I just got a new phone, Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, a very basic smartphone, but I can’t find the game anywhere in the Android app store. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place? I primarily play on my Kindle, but it would be nice if I had it on my phone as well for those times when it’s just not practical to pull out the Kindle.
It does only work on certain devices. A lot of older ones, or more basic ones can’t support it. If you don’t see it in the App store there’s a good chance it won’t work on your phone. You can always contact EA and ask them though
Hiya x I maybe a bit late with advice but I play on a Samsung galaxy mobile and downloaded tsto from the google play store so install that or you could try the amazon app store too …although I find the game really lags from there! Just make sure to have your origin log in set up on your other device first : )
So today while waiting for my mother in-law to finish shopping I. The grocery store, my daughter and I was playing around with the prize machine out front by the doors and out of one if them I got a pink sprinkle donuts key chain. I was so happy the people around me was looking at me like I was loony. Ha ha.
Hi all, I have a question about friend prizes. I’ve just unlocked Mr Teeny and the next prize is a black box. What is it and what does it do? Also, the prize after that is a duck pulling a cart (?). What’s with that, where did it come from?
I’m impressed that Cool Lisa came with a quest line. I’ve come to expect the friend prizes do nothing but look pretty.

The Black Box is nice because it produces income and gives 2-hour jobs to Carl, Lenny and Wiggum. Stuart the Duck is just a cool, moving decoration.
Well, there’s definitely an issue as I mentioned earlier with tasks sticking and no new tasks being presented. Had a couple people here respond with the same problem. I chatted EA with no resolution.

Kind of frustrating to not be able to make any progress at all in the game. GRRRRRRRRRR
I’m so glad you posted this. I was going to call EA tomorrow about this. I deleted the app, reinstalled it, tried another device, and nothing worked. 🙁
Yep at first they suggested I go to KL or a friends neighborhood, even though I told them I had tried that in my original message, then they said to just wait for a fix to come along.
Sorry if someone already asked this question, but is the Big Butt Skinner Balloon a permanent or tempory decoration once the Gil sale ends? I’d rather save my donuts for limited time items even if it is a 15 donuts off sale.

Is anybody else experiencing a glitch with Cecil Terwilliger’s 24-hr task (i.e. running for mayor)? My Cecil just walks around town the whole time, as if he hadn’t even been assigned a task. [Sorry if this has been discussed before; I just noticed this in the past week or so.]
I wondered about that! He’s doing it in my game too
I’ve had them all on 24hr tasks the past cpl days. I see now he is just walking around but, I’ve been the task payout everytime for it so I’m not going to worry about it.
I was thinking that’s how he runs for mayor, by walking around doing nothing. 🙂
I want land too but only if EA increases the memory/amount of items that can be displayed. What’s the point if your game is in constant glitch. I’m ready for Lindsey Naegle or Cookie Kwan to join the game.
