Today is America’s Birthday! Being that Bunny, Wookiee and I are all located in the US we’re taking the day to spend time with our families and friends to celebrate the day America announced it’s Independence. So we really won’t be around much today, as we’re taking a much needed day to recover, relax and celebrate with our families!

P.P.S I’m thoroughly going to enjoy a day “off” today…but I know A LOT of you have questions about Community prizes. While I’m going to write a post on it…next week, NOT today..I figured let me give you a little bit of info to ease some of your minds..
-Yes, you have to buy a Soccer Ball for 500 Bucks to advance the questline for Act 2. If you don’t finish the Act 2 questline, you can’t start the Act 3 questline once it starts. So just spend the 500 Bucks when you can…or as they say in baseball “suck it up and take one for the team”.
-Yes, you will see the balls rolling around in your town if someone leaves you one. They’re hard to see and can often hide behind buildings etc. If you see one and tap on it i’ll say “Ball Collect”. Nothing else happens, just that.
-No, you will not see any kind of in game popup about balls being in your town.
-No you cannot “play catch” literally with your neighbors. You can’t throw balls back and forth. Once you put one in a neighbors town..that’s it.
-Relax about the Community Prizes. It’s only a day or so into it. It’ll take some time for them to build up. Don’t be Doom and Gloom about it right now…it’s barely into the start of them. Don’t start thinking “it’s not possible” until it’s been several days, please. For the sanity of the moderators of this site….
-If you’ve never done community prizes before…relax. They’re fun. As long as the goals are met by the Tappers World Wide (yes it’s everybody that plays TSTO world wide, not just your own neighbors) you’ll get every single prize. So just relax, have fun and play.
-And finally…yes, participate. Buy some balls and put them in your neighbors town. You don’t have to do it a ton, but every once in a while is nice. It helps everyone out to get those prizes.
My ball is missing. Okay, I found a ball in my town earlier today. I tapped it and my ball count went from 0 to 1. I tossed that ball to one of my neighbors and my ball count went from 1 to 0. All seems as it should. Then later today I found another ball in my town. I tapped it and my ball count went from 0 to 0. In other words, stayed the same. I never got credit for that ball.
You only have a small chance of getting a ball when you tap one. I tapped around 20 balls and only got 2. You were just super lucky on your first try.

Oh? I didn’t know that. But it says “Ball collected” when I tap on it, yet it’s not collected.
Was it a soccer ball? So far, when I’ve tapped soccer balls they’ve counted, but when I’ve gotten, say, (American) footballs, they haven’t (although I wouldn’t say that my N hasn’t been large enough to make me feel super confident that this hypothesis has been proven yet). However, I also noted that, when I released one of my soccer balls into another town, it turned into a football when it landed there!
Yep, they have all been soccer balls when discovered in my town. I tap on it, it disappears and says “Ball collected” but it’s not collected. It happened again tonight. Yeah, I think the soccer ball I tossed to my neighbor turned into an American football too.
My theory was shot yesterday, anyway, when I collected a non-soccer ball (a beach ball, I think?) and it counted.
It’s funny, too, when you throw someone a soccer ball and watch it turn into a football when it lands in their town!

I had the same experience. The first ball I found, a soccer ball, was added to my count so I assumed that would be the case for all the others; however, none of the other four (two more soccer balls and two American/rugby balls) were added to my count. Talk about confusing! Thanks to avistew I’m feeling a little less insane.
Yeah, I found another, and it was never collected after tapping it despite it stating it was.

Thanks for all your help! I bought a ball earlier and threw it at my husband 😉 later I found 2 beach balls in my town and then one soccer ball. Something about the text made me think I got to keep the ball but no… It’s a really weird game of catch.
I’ve played for quite a while now and I agree everyone needs to calm down about the community prizes and just do your part. We’be gotten all the prizes before so I’m optimistic. The numbers do seem high but we can do it. GO TEAM GO!!!
You just jogged my memory! I revise my previous posts about types of balls received. I now remember that at least one of the round ones was a beach ball. So, all I can say for certain is that I’ve received three round balls and two oblong balls!
I’m confused! Should I buy the 500 amateur bucks soccer ball?? I tapped on some random football in my town, and my quest dissapeared. I have Homer and all the other tap ball guys on another quest at the moment so I’m not sure if the soccer ball quest was really completed.
The post says to buy it, but the comments confused me 🙁
Folks are reporting earning them from neighbor visits so I’d hold off and see. You’ll know you completed it because the next task to send 20 characters on a mission will pop up.
If you have a lot of neighbors, I’d say hold off. If someone sends you a ball and it lands in your town as a soccer ball and you pick it up and it adds to your soccer ball count and then you throw it into a neighbor’s town, it appears that that will satisfy the quest requirements and you’ll have saved the 500 Amateur Bucks.
Only wish I had figured that out sooner!

At least it helped the community prize count. And you might also consider that if everyone had waited for their neighbor to throw the first ball, we would never get the ball rolling…
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, and it is late here so I may be thinking of the wrong forum, but I seem to remember one on here that listed all the daily challenges for this event. Found the one that said for days 1-5, but I thought I read one that went beyond that. Tried Google to no avail, so it may not exist and I’m thinking of the one that said day 1-5. If such list exists can someone please direct me to it. I have plans tomorrow so I want to plan my challenges accordingly if possible.

I set up fireworks all around it and then, after the evening game, the tap ball spectators got to see a nice fireworks show. The bursts started off sporadic and scattered, then some rounds with a few going off at the sometime – sometimes spread out and sometimes in clusters – building to the grand finale with a constant barrage of firework going on everywhere!
Spectators leaving the stadium were overheard remarking at how impressive the display was and how enjoyable the show evening had been. There was, however, a bit of a disagreement over whether the games should be more competitive or co-operative…..
Happy 4th of July to every1!!! Hope it was a good 1. Our Grandbaby turned 1 yesterday so we took her to her 1st 4th of July Parade today. She fell asleep half way thru it. Poor little tired thing. Oh well maybe.next year.

I dont know where else to post this but i have a problem with my neighbors… By now i’ve tossed at least 15 balls into my neghbors towns and haven’t got even one back 🙁 and it’s not only this event, i was seeding their towns like crazy, during last event and did i get any seeds back? Nope
I dont really need neighbors, i’m all maxed out and only keep them around so i can help them during events… i guess that is just a waste of my time. So, i’ve decided to get rid of the whole lot of them.

It’s up to your neighbors to send them back…they’re also REALLY hard to find in towns plus they’re expensive. I wouldn’t be so hard on them for not sending them back
I’ve received a total of five balls and none of them offered any indication of who sent them. One of the balls, the first one, was added to my count so I forwarded it to the next neighbor against whom I played Tap Ball. The other four balls registered as collected, but were not added to my supply – they just went “poof.” I do plan to buy a ball once I rack up 500 amateur bucks; but at the rate it takes to do that, just how many do you think any one player can contribute? Assuming you upgraded a team of four players to at least 4 stars, how did you even have the requisite 7,500 amateur bucks to purchase 15 balls? I play very frequently and doubt I have had 7,500 amateur bucks in total come in to my coffers.

Hey guys! I have a quick question: Is there any way to get Sideshow Bob to show up in your town more often? I need him to show up three more times! (I’m on the catch Bob 5-times task.)
Unfortunately not it is random. Try checking neighbors towns though (other springfield in particular)
What Alissa said about “Other Springfield.” More times than not, Bob will appear when you visit there – usually WNW of your landing spot.

Happy 4th USA, and Happy regular day everyone else. I am feeling very rebellious for some reason, wanting to do everything the constitution allows me to do but to the extreme and then get arrested for doing so, since it’s mostly frowned upon in my city and state. (A bit of a joke – don’t ask where I’m from otherwise I’ll say “The Same State the Simpson’s are From”)
It is hard saving enough A.Bucks for a ball when I could upgrade a couple players instead. (So far someone sent me an American Football and a Beach ball – I suspect the type sent is random).
I’m itch’n to get my hands on some more balls, lots and lots of balls. I don’t care how big nor color just send me your balls people! :p
Does anyone knows if the ball has a time expiration? Cuz I send one to another account last night but we cant find it anywhere, I even used the little eye thing to make buildings transparent but still a no show!!!
I’m upgrading all my players (I’m not using any but the ones it gave me) than I’ll get the ball. Hope that’s not bad move.

I just now tapped on one of those balls in my town, and it was counted toward the soccer balls, increasing the counter by one. Glitch? Or was it a glitch before, when they weren’t counted?
Hmmm maybe it was a glitch on my end yesterday when I did it…i’ll have to play around with it some more tomorrow.
Tapped a few more balls since then, and it’s back to nothing happening. Seems to be a one time fluke.
IMPORTANT!. I think I’ve just made a big, stupid, frustrating mistake and want to save others from doing that, too… 🙁
This morning, I found a soccer ball bouncing around my town and tapped it. I then noticed that my soccer ball counter showed “1” but, since I had read that getting a ball that someone threw into your town didn’t do anything, I ignored it.
When I had finally amassed 500 very hard-earned Amateur Bucks, I bought a soccer ball, so that I could be sure to finish the Act 2 questline before Act 3 started, and tapped on the icon and selected a friend’s town (*waves hi to Brooders*) to throw it in. When I got there, I saw that my ball count was 2, which I think means that I think that I didn’t have to have spent those 500 Amateur Bucks to buy that ball, since I already had one on my counter!!
So, if you already have a soccer ball in your counter because you received one that was bouncing around in your town, you do NOT need to buy one, or at least I think so, so give it a try before you spend the bucks!
I dearly wish I could get those 500 Amateur Bucks back. 🙁
Never mind… Mods, you can delete this post…just realized that purchasing the ball was part of the questline requirements, not just throwing it, so I guess I did need to spend the bucks! 🙂

This happened in my town also. A soccer ball was in my town that i had not purchased. It counted towards the one we needed to buy to complete task( even though i had not purchased it). Then i threw it into another town and my task was completed(part 9). Im on part 10 now. Now ill keep upgrading…
So then I shouldn’t have spent the 500 Amateur Bucks after all. So, so sad. 🙁
I also received a soccer ball as a “gift” from a neighbor who left a ball in my town. In my case, the ball that I clicked looked like a football rather than a soccer ball. When I clicked the football, it changed to looking like a soccer ball which I clicked and it then added one to my total soccer ball count (which was zero). The other two balls that were in my town at the same time, another football and a beach ball, only gave me the ball collected message. So it looks like you will randomly earn soccer balls from the different balls that are left by your neighbors. This is a good thing to know, since crafting them costs 500 tickets per ball! Those tickets are better used to upgrade your team, IMO.

I found a ball in my town and tapped it, it said “ball collected” but it didn’t show in my counter and I couldn’t send it to a neighbour. Are you supposed to be able to pass on balls you’ve collected or not supposed to?
I’m still trying to figure it out. In my games nothing happened, others are reporting it collected. Have to play around with it more

OMG! i went in for a closer look at my town and turned everything transparent and found 4 balls lol! A beach ball, two tiny rugby balls and one soccer ball…but by tapping the soccer ball it completed the first part of quest to buy one then I went to see what would happen if you visited a neighbour ( yes Sandra I went to you) and it allowed me to throw that ball! Therefore completing the quest WITHOUT purchasing any balls!!!
Well, I’m glad my big, stupid $500 mistake helped someone else at least! 🙂
So far every ball I found was bouncing – that’s probably the reason I spotted them. Were yours not bouncing? Also, when you turned everything transparent was that really all four types (surface, characters, buildings and decorations) or did you leave one of them visible?

Seriously, though…hope you and Mr. and baby Addict all have a lovely, relaxing day off. Any local parades or fireworks or such? We have a great town parade here, but I awakened to find that I had slept through it! I really must have sorely needed that sleep though, since I slept for *11* hours!!!

Hmmm i have a discrepancy. A ball was thrown into my town. I did not buy it. And my icon then said “one ball” and in my task bar it showed that i purchased even though i did NOT and i then put the ball in another town. And my task bar to complete that task went away(just as i was 20 away from buying a ball now im upgrading). So i think that you can collect balls without buying and then throw it into another town. It just happened in my game. Happy 4th ☺️

We took yesterday off…
I just bought another ball and “released it into the wild” so that’s two so far.
I’ll try to get at least 5-6 out there to do my share….maybe more. The community prizes look fantastic!

Maybe just a weird glitch, but a (blue and white, still) ball just sort of appeared in my town. I did not purchase it as I have been focusing on upgrading tapball players and have never had more than 300 amateur bucks at one time. When I tapped on it, it did fulfill the “purchase” part of Trophy Life pt 9 and I was able to drop it into my husband’s Springfield, fulfilling the other part of Trophy Life pt 9. He picked it up as a moving, multicolored beach ball and it was consumed and did not fulfill any quest parts when he tapped it. So I’m not sure what happened, glitch, weird spawn, 4th of July magic? Leaving out cookies for Uncle Sam just in case.
I look forward to ever so much talk about dropping balls.
ps: Everyone, definitely do not despair about community prizes. Of course we can never tell what EA will do, but when progress on Community Prizes in the Christmas 2013 event was slow, EA just lowered the required number of items to be collected. So hang in there!
My understanding of them is they’re one time for you and then if your neighbor finds it, they get the chance to earn a ball too. After that I suspect it’s just unscored ball play.
Thanks for clearing that up. If it was from a neighbor (my first thought) I wish EA had set it to identify where it came from.

My husband caught a ball I had placed in his SF with my B-game, and he got a ball back. He had bought one ball that he placed in my A-game, which I collected just before he caught mine… Both my games have a ball-count of 0, and he has 1 ball left… Glitch?

I have, but only when they look like soccer balls, not when they look like other kinds of balls.

My city doesn’t allow fireworks so I’m always happy that I can tap away at them in my Springfield. That’s what I’ll be doing tonight after I watch my local firework display. 💥😃
