Tap Ball Prize Guide: Act 2, Prize 1 Alley McBalls

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Are you ready for some Tap Ball!? Tap Ball is the newest sensation sweeping the streets of Springfield.  A game invented by our very own Homer J Simpson!  In the Second “Act” of the Tap Ball Event (funny they’re called Acts, really they should be called Periods like Hockey.  Oh EA, I thought you knew sports 😉 ) you’ll unlock Tennis Marge, FIT Milhouse, unlock Community Challenges and continue to challenge your friends and neighbors to some friendly Tap Ball competitions!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts (again, should be called Periods EA…), with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Hats (ico_june2015_hats_01) to unlock each prize!  The First Act 2 prize awarded at 5,800 ico_june2015_hats_01 is Alley McBalls, a new bowling supply store for your Springfield!

So let’s take a closer look at this bowling storeand just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield.

Once you’ve collected 5,800 ico_june2015_hats_01 you’ll automatically be awarded Alley McBalls and you’ll see this message popup:

You’ll have the ability to place Alley McBalls in your Springfield immediately or place it in your inventory for later (store).  If you store it, remember you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.

There is a little questline associated with this building, one that will unlock tasks for several of your Springfield residents to earn more Amateur Bucks! (something we all could use these day…

Alley’s Well that Ends Well
Moe starts

Moe: Hey, look!  There’s a new store in town.  And it sells…bowling supplies.  Because there’s a lot of bowling-supplies-only stores in the real world, right?  Are we completely abandoning the idea that Springfield is IN ANY WAY based on real life?  Is that what we’re doing?
Homer:  Well, Alley McBalls’ name IS a lame pun on a briefly-popular, late-1990s TV dramedy.  That’s pretty realistic, right?
Moe: I give up.  Just tell us what mission we’re supposed to do at “Alley McBalls,” and we’ll do it. Unless, of course, we pass out from laughing at that HILARIOUS NAME.
Homer: Well, it says we’re supposed to make ten bowlers, “Fight for Free Stuff.”  But Moe, if you don’t want to–
Moe: No, I’m sick of caring!  Let’s just do this! Then afterwards, maybe I’ll head over to “Boston Eagle” to buy some eagle food to feed my pet eagle.  That’s all they sell there.  It’s also very realistic.  THEN…it’s over to “Touch by an Angel Food Cake.”  Guess what they sell?
Homer: Moe, don’t do this…
Moe: ANGEL FOOD CAKE MIX AND NOTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!

Can Send Apu, Homer, Brockman, Cletus, Rev. Lovejoy, Flanders, Krusty, Luigi, Mindy, Moe, Wiggum, Otto, Snake, Sea Captain, Lou, Eddie, Arnie Pye, Barney, Helen Lovejoy, Lurleen, Princess Kashmir, Richard Nixon and Willie

Pro-Tip: Yes, you can send Homer, Apu and Flanders on this task…but don’t.  It earns at the same rate as their other Amateur Buck tasks, you’re better off sending them on those.
Additionally, you can make some extra Amateur Bucks by sending some characters twice (9 of them).  Here’s what you do…start the task by only sending 9 character on the task.  This way when they’re done the task won’t be completed.  After some time has passed, or the initial 9 have completed their task, send the remaining characters on the task.  Then once the initial 9 have completed it, you can send them on it again.  It’s a great way to earn an extra 144 Amateur Bucks.
And YES, this works.  I did it in my town and earned Amateur bucks from everyone doing this task, including the extra 144.

Here are some quick facts about Alley McBalls:

Size: 3×8
Build Time: 24hrs
Earns:
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Consumerism +10
Where Can I Place It?: Grass/Pavement
What Does it Do?:
Another building for your Springfield.  Aside from the initial set of tasks there, it will not earn Amateur Bucks.  But the nice thing is it does boost Consumerism…which is one of the hardest areas to max out!

Apu will have a Permanent task there (For cash) to admire Luxury Bowling Balls.

  1. I missed 3 days of tapped out since i went traveling on July 3rd, will i still get tennis marge?!?!?!

    • If you tap a lot you will…

      • You should be able to, I’m 2,500 away from her now, and that’s 5 days in with 5 days to go. It’ll be close, but I think you can make it. Just make sure to complete the daily tasks in 24 hours and tap tap tap those fans!

  2. You wrote “funny they’re called Acts, really they should be called Periods like Hockey”.

Gotta disagree. In keeping with the spirit of Tap Ball, they should be called Quarters, since there are three of them.

(Or maybe halves. It would be good to talk about the upcoming Third Half.)

    • Umm…there are 4 quarters that make up a whole. I would have gone with quarters if there were 4 of them. Halves if there were 2. The reason I said periods is because there are 3 periods in hockey…

      • You appear to have missed the illogical humor. Yes, there are 4 quarters in a whole, hence Homer’s game would have 3 quarters for the whole (less than 100%) or 3 halves (more than 100%). Ya’know?

      • ciarathomp988

Lol I got it simp7fan! Hehe third half…

      • Why not quarter? The fouth quarter is at Moe’s!

      • I think by saying “keeping with the spirit of Tap Ball”, tinynicewolf was eluding to the wacky and irrational nature of Tapped Ball and indicating that having the 3 intervals of time called “quarters” fits with that theme.

    • Lol – good one! Very Homer-like.

    • Sometimes sarcasm and jokes don’t translate well (I got it and will submit my Sheldon Cooper type laugh “Hh Hh”). :p

And you you noticed the :p (indicating a good humored comment, being silly and playful and not a harsh criticism) And now that concludes TOTBox’s Introduction to comedy commenting :p

Just leave your cash in any empty P.O. box and I’ll get it at some point, actually better yet just any empty box will do (preferably cardboard but will accept it sitting on top of just a drawing of a three dimensional cube) :p

lesson number two just because you do :p <— doesn't mean it was an actual funny comment but it indicates that I am not clinically insane "My mother had me tested" :p

    • In amateur soccer their is a third half, which consists of heavy drinking in the soccer canteen 🙂

  3. OtriviaLaLavia

Just visited my game, got an in-app update. Not sure what it’s all about but, did notice balls to throw to neighbors dropped from 500 amateur bucks to 40 ab’s!!!! Sorry but, WTD??!!!

  4. They just dropped the price on the sports balls to 40 bucks!

  5. The Problem Child

Off topic but Harry Shearer is returning to The Simpsons!

    http://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/15/harry-shearer-simpsons-returns

  6. Simpsons fans will find this turn of events nothing short of excellent: Seven weeks after tweeting that he was exiting the animated comedy, EW has learned that Harry Shearer—the voice of Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Smithers and a flurry of other memorable characters—has agreed to rejoin Fox’s forever-running animated comedy.

  7. The community prize scores have gon down from 110 million to just over 3 million 😃😃😃😃

  8. attention! an update has just come through that has reduced the targets for the community prizes SIGNIFICANTLY!

10 donuts at 3,266,000! so close now!

  9. my names jeff

I came her to chew bubblegum and talk simpsons, and im all outta bubblegum

  10. I’m sure you saw, but the community prizes just went realistic! Yay!

  11. Trying to figure out what pops up when you tap the wire obstacle. It looks like crocodiles? Perhaps I need new specs ☺

  12. Hi,

Have we had some sort of change to the game today?
Just opened my game to find vast open space with all my items and characters stored In my inventory.

Only things still out are the Simpson house, lemon tree, krusty bus, some boardwalk and the new tap ball stadium.

At this point I am worried has one of my kids nuked my town…

  13. Italian Beauty

Not sure on the timing, but Alley McBalls earns 225 Cash and 22 XP. I’ve got less than 15 hours to go before it earns me $ again so I’m guessing it’s 16 hrs or 24.

  14. Off topic, but I just saw on an Entertainment Weekly page that Harry Shearer signed back onto the Simpsons for the next 4 years! Just thought that may some pertinent information….. We won’t have odd voiced characters after all!

  15. Free building and it gives income which is even better. I have it in my 16 hour area along with Fat Tony’s compound, library and the orange houses. Makes collections easier

  16. Why would one be “better off” sending Homer, Apu, and Flanders on their regular Amateur Buck tasks instead of their Alley McBalls tasks? Seems like six of one, half a dozen of the other.

    • Do what you want. Personally I don’t want characters generally needed tied up for 16hrs. Makes more sense top me to send them on shorter tasks. But like I said…do what you want

      • Ok, sorry for asking. I know I can “do what I want”, I was just asking about the reasoning for the advice. Some people have schedules in which a 16-hour task is more appealing than waking up in the middle of the night and re-starting a 4-hour task.

  17. Is this building related to the TV character Ally McBeal?

  18. Great dialog! And I’m so glad this isn’t another prison, bar, or coffee shop! 🙂

Just wish I could keep doing that AB task over and over again…it was great having all of those extra characters being able to bring in the bucks!

  19. Small annoyance, but the theme of this event seems so sloppy. Why mix Homer at Bat with Team Homer? I would like to have seen a full-on bowling event complete with Otto, Apu, Burns and Homer all getting Pin Pal type outfits. Could have had the inclusion of Barney’s uncle or the other bowling team (Holy Rollers, etc.) Happy with Ally McBalls, but Nick’s Bowling shop was always the better gag. Alternatively, they could have done a Homer at Bat theme with Homer, Lenny, Carl and Burns all on the team. I’d love to see a Homer task of “making wonder bat” or “research secret weapon.” The combination of all these sports and episodes is off putting to me.

  20. As someone who was a teenager in the 90s (though I never really watched any of the shows they referred to), I really enjoyed the dialogue with this quest. I also liked how the characters able to do this task were all members of bowling teams from the Team Homer Simpsons episode (though I am not sure how Richard Nixon got in there).

I too used your trick to send 9 members to do this task, then sent everyone available to earn the extra amateur bucks. Great way to earn a sudden boost of amateur bucks!

  21. In the process of attempting that trick now, and taking it one step further. Got it down so that the captain is the last one to finish his task at Ally McBeals. Got everyone else re-started on the task now, and thinking once their task ends again, if I go to the Mayor office, and select one by one when the task is done, but leave Captain in there, I may be able to send them a third time…I dunno, may not work, but worth a shot 😀

    • Come to think of it, it probably wouldn’t work, as soon as the first person is taken out of Ally McBeals it would count toward the counter, scratch that idea lol.

      • Sorry for triple post but I just realized I typed Ally McBeals instead of Ally McBalls TWICE lol

  22. Really off topic and i apologize but is the Simpsons lazer tag building a big rip off or what? It literally does nothing.

  23. Chris mueller

I did that trick to earn more bucks and it works. I just wish it would have remained a permanent task for everyone. I already got the wire thing too. If you tap it three little alligators pop up for a second. Kind of a funy abimation.

  24. jamesnicolson1

I love shops for some reason. Don’t know why. My favourite type of building

  25. My first crew of nine will be finished this afternoon. Is there any reason why I can’t send *all* my bowlers (I have 5-10 that I didn’t send the first time, maybe more?) on this task when that’s ready?

  26. I like the obstacles. Together with the bowling alley I’ve made it in a new sport, Obstacle bowling 😀

  27. Hi

Do you know if any of the characters regular jobs will involve ally mcballs? Or will it just be a building with no tasks associated with it apart from the quest that earns amateur bucks?

    Matt

  28. I’m annoyed that the Alley McBalls task to get Amateur Bucks only happens once. I was able to “double up” by sending 9 and sending the rest later, but was really hoping it would be an event-long task.

  29. I wish it had a permanent task for amateur bucks.
I do like the building. And so glad to have another to add to consumerism. Trying to not have so many Kwik e marts in my town.

  30. how many hats can one get from neighbours? once i’ve done 17 neighbours i am not getting anymore hats…is this a glitch?
