Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Are you ready for some Tap Ball!? Tap Ball is the newest sensation sweeping the streets of Springfield. A game invented by our very own Homer J Simpson! In the Second “Act” of the Tap Ball Event (funny they’re called Acts, really they should be called Periods like Hockey. Oh EA, I thought you knew sports 😉 ) you’ll unlock Tennis Marge, FIT Milhouse, unlock Community Challenges and continue to challenge your friends and neighbors to some friendly Tap Ball competitions!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts (again, should be called Periods EA…), with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Hats (
) to unlock each prize! The third Act 2 prize awarded at 17,800 is Springy, a new NPC (non-playable character) for your Springfield!
So let’s take a closer look at this life-like spring and find out just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield.
Once you’ve collected 17,800 you’ll automatically be awarded Springy and you’ll see this message popup:
You can choose to store Springy in your inventory or place it in your Springfield now. Remember if you place it in your inventory you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it later.
If you choose to place Springy in your Springfield now you’ll see this dialogue from Homer…

Springy is a NPC (non-playable Character), so he won’t have any tasks. He’ll just hop around your Springfield like other NPCs do.

I love springy best NPC of all I think I mostly store them but he’s gonna bounce all over my town. Lol

Most characters are quite small, but he’s massive for a spring!
Especially compared to the sports balls….
Well, keep in mind that he was designed to be a mascot, which are usually people sized. (I think the Springy we have in our game is the one the IOC sent Homer, not Homer’s little prototype.)
This is probably the wrong post to ask this question, but am I the only one that does not have 90 neighbour actions? Before visiting my neighbours, I have 132 amateur bucks, and after visiting until I stop getting them, I’ve only gained 50. Is this right?
It changed shortly after the 2nd act launched. With the update. Now back to around 50.
I kinda hear the Springy song sung to the same tume as Homer’s “Max Power” song.
Shall I deduct that The Ralphie Sportie Wannabe will be unlocked in Act 3? Or has he already come and gone?

I know this is unrelated but since it’s a newer post I’ll ask here. I just hit 100 donuts. Thinking of getting Bart and Furious D. I currently have the 7 players (homer, Lisa, ned, apu, burns, Milhouse, and Marge). I am working on comic book guy, and see we should get ralphie, but when for him? Probably to the end like Marge for this latest act? Either way, being freemium (much as I can, lol), that’s 8 to 9 characters. I’m trying to plan ahead so I can have multiple teams. Will there be more characters added? I see crazy cat lady will come up too but I don’t have her, Tatum, lugash, or jasper. But I might would buy one of them to round out the teams in the end. What do you know and suggest please? 🙂
The 100 combo for a new character and skin isn’t bad at all cost wise. Bart is a main character so don’t know how much you’ll use him after the event… but during you’ll use them both a lot.
The others are Character/building combos that you will need to buy to use their skin options. (Tatum, Lugash, Crazy Cat Lady).
Ask yourself… what would YOU be happiest with 3 months from now?
I experienced a bug around getting Fit Milhouse, but after a game restart, I got him and 10 donuts again as “Community Donuts” 😀

Yeah, everyone got 10 donuts again, to compensate the people who didn’t receive the 10 donuts initially.
I am now have 90 donuts. Yay!

Springy is okay. I like the idea of using him with the theme of this event.
I love Springy! Some of my NPC’s are my favorite characters in the game. “Well that’s not a very good lesson.” “Well I’m not a very good president.” Though I did like Bill.
Anyway I love the rate these hats are dropping. I got Marge early. Yesterday 6 overtime doughnuts. And just played my first time today, 3 more and I should easily reach it again before the day is out. Maybe EA felt bad when they forgot the Vaseline with all the limited time doughnut items lately.
Was anyone else wishing that they could actually hear Homer singing his Springy song, like I was? I want to know what it actually sounds like! Lol!
That said, I have to say that, with a few notable exceptions, NPCs are generally my least favorite type of prize. I’ll probably do with Springy what I normally do with event-related NPCs – let him wander around until the event is over, then stick him into inventory, probably forever. But I did enjoy Homer’s song! 🙂

So I watched the episode with Springy last night (thank you, FXNow!) and Homer DOESN’T sing a Springy song. So what tune did your funny little head (I say that with affection) come up with? I think you need to record yourself singing it for us and then put it up on Dropbox so we can all hear it! 😉

I know he’s an NPC but I actually really enjoying having Springy hop around my town, he makes me smile when I see him.

Has anyone else noticed that,,with the exception of Crazy Cat Lady,
All the Daily Prizes in Act 3 are Tap Ball Related!? Balls and Elixers and such. Will be interesting.
In the mean time, I have collected 8 balls in the last 8 hours and all were transformed into Tap Balls that I distributed. And we still won’t make it at the CURRENT rate of accumulation.
BLAH… do not worry one bit about the COmmunity Prizes or their counts. Seriously. It is not worth the effort. Not once have we NOT got the prizes.
Not worried, laughing at the Official Counter. And I don’t want to be no where around when Community Prize #3 hits and a Thousand Bucks is awarded. That’s something along the lines of TWENTY -FIVE balls! That will be thrown all at once! All I can say is, DUCK!
I Love Tapped Out and i have always played everyday but this is one event that I really detest. I cannot wait for it to end. I have not won one single game without brain ade, then I spent five donuts to get brain ade and still lost. Don’t want to play no more. Grrrrrrr😖😖
So… LOSE. It is a good thing actually. Many times you get MORE losing than you can winning. Especially against a 5 Star Player. 😉

Why don’t you just choose to play against neighbors whose team has a lower star rating than yours? You can guarantee yourself a win if you choose the right opponent!

Off topic, but I’ve been feeling like there is a new level on the horizon. They like to drop them in the middle of events. Anyone else feeling this too?
I was just thinking that today, too, as I was looking at all of the cash I’ve accumulated recently. But I kind of hope not, only because I don’t want to pull any of the characters who can earn Amateur Bucks away from doing that. (Although I guess a new level wouldn’t have to depend on Lisa and home, the easy new events do, because they don’t have to worry about catering to newbies….)
At any rate, I guess we’ll see what happens!
I’m hoping Jacque will be added on Tuesday or Wednesday or whenever Act 3 gets started.

Yes those cold eyes blinking (freaks me out), they are supposed to be Googly eyes and Springy is an inanimate object not a robot or cartoon thing.. Why for the love of JEBUS did EA design it to blink? why? Why??
