Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. Act 2 of Tap Ball is set to end tomorrow morning (0800GMT, 4am EDT), are you ready for Act 3? Get everything you wanted from Act 2? The Simpsons Comic Con panel was yesterday afternoon, are you excited for Season 27? Kind of a slow night in the world of Sports, as this up coming week is the MLB All Star Game, although tonight Sunday Night Baseball features the Red Sox at the Angels. Are you excited for the All Star Game? (I know even as a baseball fan it’s hard to get excited about the game these days…but I’m excited because my hubby is there working and promised to bring me back some cool swag ;)) Do anything fun and exciting this weekend? Spend any time down the shore recently?
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Just wondering what everyone’s strategy is… I currently have four players who are maxed out at 5 stars, six who are at 4 stars, and two who are at 2.5 stars. I have enough players to play three tap ball games at once, and soon Crazy Cat Lady will be able to play (and I’m assuming Ralphie will be coming into the game soon too). I stopped upgrading my players and I’m now concentrating on earning AB to spend on items for my stadium. I wonder if this is a good move or if I should keep upgrading the players. Any thoughts?
The next item in the Community Prizes seems an awful long way away. What are the chances of getting them all?
We’ll have to see… hopefully EA keeps dropping the totals so we can get them all.
I hope the speed of collecting balls goes up. In the moment everybody probably puts priority on upgrading players, not buying balls. But soon active gamers will have all players maxed out, and they may start buying balls with their bucks (at least that’s my plan). Also, during act 3 some daily task prizes are balls, so every active player should eventually get several of those.
It seems like it should be 10 million and not 110 million. After that it should be 20 or 30 million.
I’m just looking forward to CBG’s pad.
Who’s looking forward to the futurama game?
Definitely am but wondering how I’d have the time and effort and money to play it.

Thanks for posting that, I hadn’t heard of it before that! I can’t see much about it, just that one will be made. I think it will be a little odd if it is like Tapped Out, but I think that’s because the Simpsons has more that it can do and I prefer it. I love Futurama though so I’ll keep looking for news. I’m not sure if I’d play it, I don’t really play too many different games on my tablet, I only really keep playing a few and the majority of them are town building games.

Just checked the link, in no mood to sign up for news etc. so I might have to bite Bender.. I never seen those helecopter robots before – not sure if those are event characters or it’s going to be some sort of battle game. I can’t visualize it like Tapped Out, my thinking (pure guess) that you can build the main New New York and do deliveries to other planets walking around interacting with other characters like a Zelda Game (Link talking to town folk). I don’t know.. We’ll see.

How? I play quite often… And the best is 1 round a day… How do u get to 6000 hats a day? Any tips…

Am I the only one who finds this event pretty boring, compared to the awesome events we had in the past? I got all the prizes and everything, but nothing that I really care about. Can’t wait for a new level to hit 🙂
Like all events, some like it more than others. I prefer this one to some of the past events.
I agree. It is an enjoyable and relaxing event. It that makes you work for it but not have to get out of bed in the middle of the night, or check in every hour so you don`t miss a beat and fall behind. It has its ups and downs, but still hits the sweet spot for me for a casual mobile game. This is challenge without extreme frustration.
I like this better than the previous… the odd thing is when I play EA’s Plants Vs Zombies 2 – once and a while they advertise Tapped Out (showing the login screen) and a few times within the same day they show the TapBall event and then later the Terwilliger event and I shout “Aaah Side Show BoB!!! bring back TapBall ad quick!”
This one hits the sweet spot for me too. I hated having to wake up in the middle of the night to play this silly little game. It’s just bad for everybody’s health. I have enjoyed the questlines and the cute animations. Looking forward to seeing Crazy Cat Lady play!

I really miss knowing who has visited me or tossed a ball my way. I like to be able to reciprocate. I hope they reinstate that feature in the future.
I have been leveling up my players rather than buying balls to toss.
I don’t think we are ever going to make the 10,000+ number.
Also, it would be great to be able to separate a character from their building. That way you could store one without loosing the other.
I get a message when a friend has sent me a ball – I’m assuming when I don’t it’s random
I got one or two messages that a friend threw me a ball. I’ve had more balls than that, though. It was cool to know at least a few of my ball friends.
Question about the moonbounce: Is there a quest to bounce all the kids or is it more like the nightmare pile where I can send them all but don’t have to?
You can only send one kiddo at a time… 4 hr task.
So no reward after I finally send each kid in? Just another task to earn cash?
IIRC, the initial questline did askew you to send multiple kids into the bounce house (ending with the typical quest $$/XP bonus). But, once you’re done with that, you can only send one kid at a time, as a regular 4-hour task. (For me, the best thing about that was is gave Ralph a 4-hour task that didn’t involve making him eat yellow snow! 😝)

I don’t know if it’s the same for everybody else, but when I unlocked Tennis Marge, I had Homer saying, “Does anybody know who that is?” (or words to that effect).
Now, if only it was this time tomorrow, as then I’ll know how many pennants we need to get for the top prize (and have an idea on whether I’ll get it as quickly as Act Two’s top prize, which I go lt on Wednesday evening, thanks to three Tap Ball teams and the 1200 hats for the daily training, which I’ve been holding back to start tomorrow).
On one hand, I’ve gotten four rounds of bonus donuts this act (plus one from levelling up), on the other hand, the ~trick to get three donuts has not worked one time, and I can’t help but buy another chance at three donuts…so basically, I’ve spent all the money I was saving up for a new level on donuts lol
Yeah, I think EA fixed that glitch. I tried each time and never worked lol
Still working for me each time but once, I’ve done it 6 or 7 times in the last 4 days. Gotta love bonuts!

My strategy has been to not upgrade to the max (as long as I still have neighbors lower than me) to get higher ranked players like you to challenge me, and so far it seems to be working. I’m getting annihilated when it comes to my record, but that’s okay because I always feel bad when someone wastes their challenge on me and ends up losing.
Lost connection to server just as I reached 3000 hats and when I logged back in I was back to zero hats and no bonus donut opportunity. I’m so disappointed!
You could hit up EA to fix the discrepancy. Not much else that can be done. I feel your pain as it’s happened to me during other events.
I’m very done with act 2. Got Marge quite a while ago. Got 5 rounds of bonuts and sitting at about 46000 hats right now. Also have 3135 amateur bucks since I’m done upgrading and there’s nothing I want to craft… I’m going to wait until the very end to craft some fencing seeing as they’re known to drop crafting prices *shifty eyes*
And I hope the tonics become essential because I have 60 now and I never use them. I pit my 5 star team against 4.5 star teams so I always win and my low ranking back up team I always pit against a 5 star team so I get the losers payout. Not really seeing the point of the tonics yet, I’ve also been very lucky with the coin tosses. It’d be nice if I could trade them in.
That’s kinda interesting…when I pit my 5-star team against a 4.5-star team, I sometimes still need to use tonic to win, because that 4.5-star team may have some 5-star players in it.
It really just depends on how far they’ve leveled up their players. I usually play the same 4.5 star person, and when I see their players are all getting up to 5 stars I pick a new person to start playing. And I’ve been veerry lucky with the coin tosses for some reason. Kinda makes up for my crap luck during Terwilligers and not being able to craft very much of what I wanted.
Ciara, my coin toss rate must be the opposite of yours. I had one game that I lost all four.
I find Marge kinda sexy in tennis outfit and doing the crab guard..
EA knows we’re never going to hit 110 Mil, right? And that’s just for Springfield Arms, not even for the other unedited hundreds of millions for the rest of the prizes. =P I still want The Gridiron and Taste of Duff, but…
I’ve already seen a few towns with the Duff final prize.. I wonder if we don’t make it as a community, will EA use it as a marker to see who has been cheating and who is playing normally?
Just wondering if there is a way to cancel tasks. Yesterday I went on spending spree and bought several characters I’ve been debating over for a while now, one being Hank Scorpio. Shortly thereafter the ‘Duelling Honchos’ task from the comic book event triggered. However, due I’m sure to said event being over, the needed tasks are no longer present in either Hank’s or Doctor Collosus’ task lists. So I was wondering will that eventually go away or will it sit there in my task book forever more. Not a big deal if it does though it is somewhat annoying.
If a character is on a task… store the building they came with and it will cancel it for you. I.e. for Hank Scorpio… store and replace the Volcano Lair.
Hey, gang! I had an idea a while ago, but thought I’d hold off sharing out until it was closer to implementation time…
What do you think about everyone here doing a “Christmas in July” thing with their towns on July 25? We could put the lights on our houses (remember -it’s easy to do that now, if you have the light plunger!) and, for those who feel like bothering, pull out and display some of our Christmas decorations/items, too.
I thought it would be fun for our friends in the Southern Hemispere to be able to finally have Christmas in the “right” season and might add a little feeling of cool during a hot summer, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. Plus, it would be a good way to see if you have some neighbors who Silently lurk here on this site!
So, who’s up for this? It could just be a one-day silly fun thing to do!
Plus…it’s my birffday!! Woot woot!!

But, I mean, really – you have to have noticed that most of the Christmas T.V. programs and movies (not to mention our own beloved TSTO) have snow in them, or at least people all bundled up in winter clothes (well, except for the more religious ones about the birth of Christ…not much snow in Bethlehem, lol!)! So, I figure this will give you a chance to experience a Christmas like that for yourself for a change! 🙂

Ok, so I’m a grinch an’ unsupporting of commercial holidays, but for you Sandra, I’ll turn on the lights 😉
The funny thing is, I’m not that huge a Christmas fan (not being Christian, although I have celebrated “Holifest” (a non-religious mashup of the typical December holiday traditions, lighting the menorah at Hanukkah time, putting up a Christmas tree and exchanging presents and such, etc.) for many year, but these days I barely have even been doing that. But I thought this idea seemed fun and, more importantly, EASY, and kind of a way to build “community.”
So, thanks for joining in…don’t feel obliged to go all out – even just the lights would be just fine!
(Hey – wouldn’t it be funny if some new folks came to this site in search of trying to find out why some of their neighbors suddenly have their lights on and decorations out? This could be really confusing to neighbors who aren’t from this site, LOL!)
I’m going camping next week with no wifi, so I’m going to miss out on act 3, but the only good prize is ballet Ralph, so I’m not too dissapointed. I’m exited for the Futurama mobile game (yes there is a confirmed Futurama mobile game coming soon. Not made by EA or Tinyco).
I missed 6 days of the event, I had managed to earn about 4,000 or so hats before, I came back with just about 3 or 4 days for this part, I have nearly unlocked the log obstacle! The daily training bonuses are really helpful. I should have the obstacle in a few hours at most. I wanted Marge, if she is fairly cheap in the next part(provided she does cost donuts) and Grampa’s Matador outfit costs donuts, I might get them. That way, with Comic Book Guy and Ralph both getting skins, I will have a third team. I’m earning more Amateur Bucks than I had expected. I think I’ll get my teams up to a fairly good level then leave them, I’ll instead spend them on decorations for the stadium. I would like to get two of most things, the obstacles would be good to have two sets in parallel as a training area, I really like lots of the items like the seating and lights and would like to try and get more of those. I will buy more balls to leave in other towns and I would like to get more fencing, I wish they were more affordable. I want to get loads but I imagine with the cost of everything else I will only be able to get a few. I hope that if the training prizes that look like the balls, are indeed the balls, that they are something that move around our town(in the slim chance that they are actually decorations), or if they are just some free balls to help with the prizes, that there are several included to really help move the counter along.
Man I cant believe after 3 days of being gone from Act 2 I got Tennis Marge and 3 overtime donuts!!! This event is the nicest to me to far

If you only had 200 donuts (freemium player), what character would you buy? I have finally saved up enough donuts that I can purchase one, but don’t know who will give the most potential for questlines and frequency of use. I am debating between Apu’s wife/apartment, Jasper/community center, and milhouse’s mom/cracker factory, but there might be a better option. Thanks!

Otto, Luann (Millhouse mom) and Duffman would be my choices. If I were in early levels of the game (Probs level 25 or lower) I’d pick Bumblebee man, Squeeky Voice teen and Hans Moleman to get money and XP faster by having 3 premium characters.
I’d hold out for Barney and the Bowl-a-Rama but if you don’t want to do that, I’m with Wookie – Otto!

between the three you listed, i’d go with luann/cracker factory/fleet-a-pita hands down. for what it’s worth, i don’t have jasper, but i do have luann and apu’s wife.
When does everyone think Level 55 will hit and what do you think will come with it? ☺
I’m sure we’ll see it after this event… maybe a week or two later. Not sure what will be the theme… lots of ancillary characters to pick from. I’d personally love Senor Ding Dong and Raphael (Sarcastic Guy).
Yes! Raphael, but with this event still feeling a Jacque vibe and maybe a few more Pin Pals.. But Level 55 and no full character or even a NPC MAGGIE!!! (Marge walking her around town does not count – I still wish it will be revealed that That Maggie is a fraud – either the little old Hungarian actor man or Baby Gerald in disguise).

Happy weekend everyone. How are people doing with the overtime donuts ? I’ve unlocked 4 lots so far, so pretty good. Anyone else holding back on the daily tasks for a head start on the pennants ?
I think I’ve gotten three rounds so far and should (I think) get a fourth today.
I should have held off on the daily task at the end of the last act, since I wasn’t close enough to another bonuts round for it to help. But, in this act, bonus rounds seem easier to achieve, so I may just keep going with the daily tasks to help maximize my chances for a couple/few more bonus rounds.
Yes, I’m waiting for the morning to finish today’s task. Head start is always a good thing :-). I got three shots at donuts for Act 2. Hopefully more next time

Not sure what act 3 will bring to us, but community prices still seem to increase very slowly. Will we see another patch on this number?
I haven’t bothered saving them up. I’ve gotten 4-5 rounds of bonuts so far. It’s been pretty easy earring event currency, so I haven’t felt the need to stock up, really. Besides, I don’t want to get too far behind in my daily tasks.

The donut bonus potential for this event is REALLY generous! I think I’m close to getting my sixth bonus which I should get later tonight.
This event is so much easier than the SSB one.
I’m still doing the daily tasks every day and not holding back. I figured there will be plenty of chances to get any new stuff.

Good idea, but it’s also a good idea to not tap any fans until after Act 3 is up…lol…I’m just wondering how much pennants we will get for each fan that we tap…since the daily task if finshed by 24 hours we will get 2,000 pennants.. I like ballet now..silly Ralph..
I’ll only save finishing this last one if there’s no way for me to get another set of bonuts. Since the hats were 20 a pop and only needed 3k to get the bonus box I’m going for as many as possible. Because with the first “act” it was 4k and we were getting fewer fingers each time. I don’t know what the “act” will have, so my logic is to go for the easier bonuts.
But who knows, the next round may be just as generous.
If I make it before act 3 I will be on my 5th bonus donuts…
I’m hoping for one last set of bonus donuts with fans and saving my daily (high kicks) for act three. I figure I get about 120 an hour from fans, and 205 every four hours from my paltry two teams. So with five waking hours, in centrait daylight, need 1000 +/- to go and some reserve of fans in my town already. Might have to stay up a little late for it. Reset is at two am here. I started letting fans wander about two hours ago when I hit 1, 800 hats, but I hit some by accident.
