Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. Act 2 of Tap Ball is set to end tomorrow morning (0800GMT, 4am EDT), are you ready for Act 3? Get everything you wanted from Act 2? The Simpsons Comic Con panel was yesterday afternoon, are you excited for Season 27? Kind of a slow night in the world of Sports, as this up coming week is the MLB All Star Game, although tonight Sunday Night Baseball features the Red Sox at the Angels. Are you excited for the All Star Game? (I know even as a baseball fan it’s hard to get excited about the game these days…but I’m excited because my hubby is there working and promised to bring me back some cool swag ;)) Do anything fun and exciting this weekend? Spend any time down the shore recently?
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Game Glitch while playing games for daily task the game hung after I won and did not record the wins. Contacted EA. anyone else having this problem?
Two little observations:
– the Ninja Comic Book Guy questline is pretty funny
– I played a tapball match in which my 4 players were the same as my opponent’s, and all of them played against their “twins”, Lisa against Lisa, Homer against Homer and so on. This unlocked a nice little sequence in which Frink explained the concept of good and evil twins in video games, distinguished by their color. Some funny references to Nintendo, and finally Luigi’s evil twin brother had a cameo 🙂
Greetings neighbors, friends, and probably a few people I don’t know too well. By now, you’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been on here much these past couple of months. Been pretty busy — too busy to play the game much or follow everything here — and that’s not likely to change any time soon. If you need/want the slot I’m in for a new neighbor, feel free to drop me. I’d hate to drop you from my neighbors list (you were one of my first friends on this site), but, if I were to do that, it would only be if you *promised* to send me an add request once you were really “back.” If I don’t hear from you, I’ll probably err on the side of keeping you, but I do have a couple of folks who are active commenters on this site and who are looking to join my neighborhood, so I’m a bit torn.
@Sandra (and everyone else) if you have a waiting list for the slot, definitely put someone in it — if/when I have time to play, I’ll start posting here again and we can figure out the neighbor situation then. Meanwhile, I’ve hardly played since Act 1 of the event.
When real life and game life collide, real life must take precedence. For those who are wondering, I’m working on the final stages of getting a business off the ground, and just don’t have the time that TSTO demands every day. I’ve elected to forego TSTO (for now, anyway) rather than try to stay current and just get frustrated because I don’t have the time to devote to all of the events. Ironically, this has freed up a bit of time for some other online activities, but those are things that I can work on, and then skip for as much time as I want with no negative repercussions.

You’ll definitely be missed around here, but it sounds like you’re making good life choices. Good luck with your new business and please do pop in here from time to time and let us know how you’re doing. And when/if you do decide to come back to the game, I’ll be sure to free up a slot in my neighborhood for you again!
I miss spending the night in you town, but I have been tapping fans daily. I have not been dropping soccer balls though. I save them for the friends that I do battle. I drop them in their neighborhood after the game.

Really hoping for an end of event sale that usually happens. I guess it’s meant to transition between the event and nonevent time. Mostly I just want Kumiko to be in my town, idk how I missed her before. it would make sense to bring her back for Ninja CBG. I’m missing 3 characters off the top of my head. Oh well. Fingers crossed though.
Not sure if anyone else is seeing this. But is it just me that is noticing the bonus donut payout from your friends’ neighborhood is a little less since this event started??? It looks like I’d only got about 2 donuts from the friends’ neighborhood for over a week now… 🙁
At least from Period 2, I’ve gotten about 18 bonuts from the overtime!!! 🙂
Two donuts total for the week or two donuts per day? Two donuts per day for a week would mean that you’re actually doing better than average for the odds! Two for the whole week would be a bit if a slump, but still not uncommon for the odds.
But, to answer your question, I’d say no, the odds haven’t changed. I’ve actually done a bit better than usual getting donuts from visiting neighbors during this event period! But, again, nothing to indicate that the .05% per tap odds have changed.
unfortunately. it’s 2 for the entire week. boy what a slump!!! 🙁
I really wonder about this. I think I have received about 4-5 donuts in total from neighbor visits since I started mid-Terwilliger event. I envy people who get weekly donuts.
How many neighbors do you have?
I have 79 neighbors, though I added probably 30-35 in the final act of the last event.
If you have a full boat of 100 neighbors (which I highly recommend), you should *average* 1-2 donuts each time you visit all of them. But that average also means that sometimes you’ll get none and sometimes you might get more.
Depending on how many neighbors you have, you can figure out what your average will be by multiplying the number of neighbors by 3, and then multiplying that number by .005. (So, 100 x 3 = 300 x .005 = 1.5 donuts, on average.)
My friendship is broken, frozen at 1 of 1 point, need four to advance, and no friends donuts. Broken a month, maybe, and can’t fix.

Every time I tap a ball left in my Springfield it doesn’t allow me to send it to a neighbor???
Only a 60% chance at that.

The Old Man and the “C” Student, season 10, episode 20. But I just watched it the other day, and there was no Springy song in that episode (though there was a song in that episode, which I won’t spoil for you).
I guess there was a TV commercial for the toy slinky, in which there was a song, that was very famous at some time. Don’t know when, don’t know what country(ies), but I got to know it by watching an episode from Friends.
Oh! THAT song I know well…that was from my childhood!

Hahaha being a HUGE fan of Friends has paid off! And remember our conversation, Sandra, I’m not even a native English speaker 😀 which means I didn’t even know that the toy was called Slinky in English, let alone about the TV commercial. LOL Sandra – You knew that would come in handy someday. Recall is amazing. I can recite the Gettysburg Address by heart thanks to my 6th grade history class assignment, but still waiting for that to come up in conversation some day… And I can still say “Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun” backwards. I don`t use that one much either…
LOL – I actually DID use that one just the other day. I was at the volunteer at McDonald’s waiting for my order to be ready and this kid comes up to the counter and asks the slightly older kid behind the register what was in a Big Mac Combo Meal. The kid behind the register says, “It’s a Big Mac and a medium fries and a medium drink. But, if you’re asking me what’s in a Big Mac, I have no idea” at which point I quickly rattled off “Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.” The shocked look on the cashier’s face was PRICELESS!!
I used to say it was a good alternative to carding people – if they could recite what was in a Big Mac, they were old enough to buy liquor. But, pretty soon, it’s going to be a test of whether someone is old enough to collect Social Security! 😉

Hello Springfield! I say stop upgrading for a bit and let’s throw some of those soccer balls around from the looks of it I don’t know if we’re going to get all the prizes and I really have my eye on the truck I’ve been throwing soccer balls around like crazy and I just don’t want a repeat cuz i keep kicking myself today didn’t go get big butt Skinner and I don’t know if we’re all going to be able to reach those Community prizes so let’s start throwing some balls around and still upgrading and beating each other in this crazy game we call “tap ball ” .
I love this game and hate to bitch, but how many times do I have to turn off notifications in my system settings (not just game settings) to make my phone my own.. It makes noise when I said NO over and over again. I hate that EA! I do not need your promotion of the game in the middle of a management meeting when I said,” NO – DO NOT DO THAT”, over and over again by unchecking the box over and over again. How insulting and repulsive…

I’m about 4000 hats (280 donuts) shy of Tennis Marge. With 2.5 hrs to go, I wont make it (or pay that much for a skin no matter how cool it is) do I absolutely lose my chance once Act 3 starts? I’ll be quite disappointed.
Did you start the task? I think you can finish the task, get the skin, but no bonus.
After we earned the community donuts I bought 2 gift box (mr. burns) & I didn’t get anything & my account had the donuts removed.
Contact EA for a refund.

Hey Sandra, so behind today, hopefully this finds you! I’ll turn my lights on the 25th & bring out any decos I don’t have out. It’s my birthday on 25th & will be alone, so would be way cool to see lights (they are my favorite about Christmas, I put out thousands) everywhere would be like a bday present. Only wish I was your neighbor so I could visit your town 😪

What is up with the righteousness bar… I have 4500 decorations out so I can’t use the walls… It seems after the sideshows and the super villains showed up it’s been down
Each time there’s a level upgrade the requirement for a 5 star town changes, and generally your righetousness requires more. So that’s probably why you’re seeing the drop.
I’ve been saving this comment for a while and figure it’s about time to just spew it out: One of my favorite video games in The Simpsons Hit and Run and so when it comes to geography (besides the show) I use it somewhat as an example.

Hahaha I ALWAYS do that! For this event I’ve been trying a new “strategy” to help me to tap fans more easily, I put all my characters on indoor tasks (the longer, the better) so I can see fans and balls easier (I play on a very small device so that helps me a lot). But when their tasks are complete and just for a few minutes Ruth Powers is free until I send her to her 24-hour task, I ALWAYS tap on her thinking she is a fan. 😀

Good… took the summer off and have 4 classes this fall for my AA… then on to the BA and teaching credential at another school. Been nice to have more time to be around when I’m not at work.

Think I have missed dialogue on what the Sport Balls do, have dropped many and have tapped them. But can someone tell me what they do? Best to let them bounce around your town, or tapp then straight away???

This week marked one year since I got my job and moved from Toronto to Windsor. From December 2013 to July 2014, as an unemployed live-at-home youth, I use to comment on nearly all your posts and check in to my TSTO nearly 20 times a day and win a couple TSTO Addicts contests. Unfortunately now I only check into my game 5 times a day, and while I do read all your posts (though usually just at the end of the day or the next day), I do miss commenting on them all. The nice thing about having a job though is I have bought a boatload of donuts and purchased nearly a dozen premium characters.
I just want to thank my neighbours too for making their way down to safizaidi99 and challenging my tap ball team. Of my 240+ wins, over half are probably due to great addict neighbours who don’t just stick to the first few letters of the alphabet. It’s cause of neighbours like you I haven’t had to change my name to 00safizaidi99!
I am a grown man… There is nothing more that makes me feel like a 12 year old then calling a big company and saying, “I want my donuts back pleeeeze…”. Just a funny moment of the week for me…

Starting to think that Tappers are confused about the Community Prizes (how it works) and/or obtaining Balls (how to generate it) is too difficult? Or, a lot of Tappers left the Game App (compared to 2013/2014) so less Community (are active)?
Wondering if the New Event format is gaining acceptance (or turning away Tappers)?

I have a question about Comic Guy: He is finishing up a long quest, but I need him for the daily task.
I know I have 24 hours to finish the task, but will I lose an entire day, making me behind if I don’t finish the task before tomorrow?

It should be fine… not every task takes a whole day. I’m purposely 5 days behind on my tasks to help me earn the Act III stuff.

I’m enjoying this event. Four lots of extra bonus donuts and not too much stress involved (though to be fair I do have the time to pay attention to the game!) and looking forward to having a bit of time for a town redesign after the event is over as it is a bit of a mess.
Thought it very apt to get tennis Marge as we’ve just finished Wimbledon here in the UK. How about golfing Grampa with the Open about to start? 😃
Haven’t had many community footballs appear – is everyone discouraged by the non moving and unattainable looking target figures? Hope EA sort it out in the next update!
I’d had a fair amount of balls in my town. (Thanks, whomever!) I’ve gotten a few out of tapping those and by buying them. Seems like a fair amount from me, but maybe others aren’t getting or buying any.
I was a bit discouraged from doing the balls thing, but I doubt I’m making anything worse.
