Just when you think it’s safe to go to sleep…or in my case write some Act 2 related posts….EA drops yet another episode tie-in on us! This time featuring the upcoming Treehouse of Horror Episode (to air this Sunday).
As usual more information as we go through it..but for now know that Homer starts things off…

Ghouls and Gluttons Pt.1
Homer: Boy, I can’t believe I let you talk me into taking you fishing. It’s so boring.
Bart: You lost the bet, Homer, you have to act like a father for a whole hour.
Homer: Ugh. I don’t even like to eat fish. It’s so lean and protein-y and…O.M.God..there’s a donut floating in the pond! Gimme that stick!
Bart: It’s called a fishing pole. And what do you want with a soggy donut?
Homer: It will be a sad day when I pass up a donut just because it’s wet and covered in algae.
Bart: Fine. But this time I’m just dropping you off at Urgent Care. I can’t spend another Saturday waiting while you get your stomach pumped.
Homer: Deal.

A few other features of this update….
-Wizard Martin, Saxophone Lisa and Radioactive Milhouse now all earn the premium rate (4 nightmares instead of 2) at the Campfire (i’ve updated the SIB post to reflect)
-When leaving Formless Terrors in a neighbor’s town…it now lets you drop them all in one spot, instead of jumping all over the town placing them. Saves lots of time when leaving them for neighbors.
-And as we mention in the question corner post from earlier today, the app store update from earlier restored the Unemployment Office functions.

Yeah, I got the disappearing lake glitch, too. Got the lake, started Homer in the task and exited the game. Noticed an update in the iOS app store, updated, went in and the lake was gone. Left the game and went into it on my iphone and the lake was back and I got the donut. Exited the game, did a reset on my ipad 2 and the lake was back and got another free donut. Did some things, exited the game and came back later and it did an ingame update and the lake was gone. Reset the ipad again, went in, lake still gone.
Now, I did not update the app on my iphone yet, but I guess I should try to see if the lake disappears there, too. If so, time to contact EA. Been playing since day 1 and this is my first glitch.
my push notifications have not been working since the update, even with phone restart…meh
Help!! I placed the lake and sent homer on his 1-hour task. Then I saw an update in the App Store (It was a Halloween update but I don’t believe it was recent). I installed the update and when I opened the app again the lake was gone and the quest didn’t trigger again. Any tips?
Fully uninstall/reinstall.
Kindle is in store update
I added the ornamental pond and started the quests, but it disappeared the next time I went into the game and after I restarted and it programmed a second update.
I guess I will contact EA, this is the first major glitch I have ever experienced worth contacting them about.

Same here. I had the pond and started Homer’s quest. When I went back to my game it downloaded an update and the pond is gone.
Mines disappeared too. And I was really excited to see what was next!
Contacted EA they had me clear the cache on my phone & everything came back.

Could you possibly tell me how to do that? I called EA but they just told me to uninstall and reinstall the app, which didn’t work. Thanks!!
I has this problem as well. I go the pond without knowing about the in-store update and it disappeared the next time I checked my game after I placed it. Went to the store and got the update, it didn’t re-appear. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it finally came back. Lucky for me, weird glitches like this very rarely affect me, but hopefully everyone can get it sorted out if it’s happened to them as well.
My game did the same thing. Should i wait or contact EA?

My lake came back overnight after this morning. When i opened the app more data d/l’d and the ancient lake was back. Task also completed.
On Android
Same happened to me. After second update now i can’t even start the game.
Bought the pond and left the game. Cae back and now the pond and the task are both gone. Very strange.

Awesome! I was kinda waiting on getting Lake Springfield before I started designing my spooky forest/decrepit (wow I spelt that right on the first try) area, but this one works even better! Not gonna get Bob’s house though.

Off base here but I just realized Sebastian Cobb has a (test out the hoverboard) job! That is most awesome!!!
Been having him do it all day. It IS “Back to the Future Day” today 😉
I have him doing that literally all the time! Because you know, it’s a hoverboard!
Also, although the Nightmares don’t technically drop on the same spot, they got rid of the travel to other side of town motion, it just goes right to said spot like a warp. Hope they keep it this way for future events
Pretty cool stuff. A bit too much for me as far as bobs place goes as i dont like Bob. I wish it showed Homer fishing for the donut as well.
That pond is huge!!! Love the look of the building gonna take me forever to find the prefect spot.

It doesn’t actually drop the terrors all in one spot (not in my iPad, at any rate); it still drop them in different parts of town, but it just hops quickly over, instead of scrolling slowly over.

Right in the middle of visiting my neighbors I had a second update and when it finished I was back in my town and all the kids were roaming around. They were a little over two hours into making s’mores but I didn’t get any of the nightmares. What a waste of time and in-game cash. Not that much of a big deal so I won’t be contacting EA but how irritating!
Happened to me too with the tie in update. But I wasn’t visiting friends. First i thought they had just spawned without me clicking but it gets pretty clear that they “cheated” me out of my nightmares. 🙁
Worse still: I was at the end of my 4 hour cycle. So 4 hours for nothing.
This happened to me too! Kicked about half my kids out of smore making.

Did it to me too, I was about 2 hours in and ready to go to sleep anyway, so I just sent them off again. It probably didn’t cost me too much. Even though I was still awake 2 hours later I probably wouldn’t have wanted to delay my sleep any further

That’s good to know. I just saw someone mention it…but since I can’t confirm I didn’t want to include it.
I already have the Ghost Pirate Airship from last year, along with the Devil Flanders skin. Right after the episode tie-in quest started, I got a second quest started by Homer related to the ship and Devil Flanders. It’s called “Bad Necromance” and has DF go parlay with the GPA.
Just loaded a screenshot of it to the TSTO Flickr group. You’ll see there’s a pirate flag icon and then the quest task box. Maybe you have to have both items (GPA & DF) in order to trigger the quest…
In my B game i have both..didn’t trigger. But I’ll check it out today.
i got the update. Bought pond and sent Homer on one hour task. Exited game then returned a bit later to find that homer was free and pond was gone. Pond and bob’s house were not available to buy.
I hard closed game and still no EP tie in. Uninstalled/reinstalled and still nothing. This happen on iPad Air 2. I then checked on iPad 3 and couldn’t get update to trigger.
Any advice please?
Restart your device. If that doesn’t work it’s a contact EA situation.
I’m having the same problem too. Talking to EA right now so I’ll let you know if I find a solution.
Got it fixed, EA recommended updating iOS. After that happened, another update happened which brought back the items…you’ll still have to buy back the pond though.
Impossible to update to ios on my old ipad 2 without it exploding. But the pond also disappeared on my iphone 6s with the latest flavor of iOS 9 after I updated the app from the app store, too…so it isn’t an iOS issue it seems, it’s an EA issue. I chatted with EA support, they sent me an email telling me to do all the things I have already tried and closed the casr without knowing if it was resolved or not, just sweeping it under the rug, so to speak, assuming issue is resolved just by sending me that email which, if I reply to it telling them it wasn’t resolved, bounces back to me as an unmonitored email address. Not too pleased with customer support.
Same thing happened to me on iPhone 6+, latest software update.
The pond is a great size! Love it. Although once again SPH lets us down, given Lake Springfield is meant to be the biggest lake in Springfield, it’s smaller than this one. I like the size of this one tho.
Springfield Lake/Heights in general is very MEH.
Also loving Bob’s Victorian House- looks like something you’d find in San Fran! It’ll look really cool next to the Burlesque House 🙂

Yes! Love the look of Bob’s house, considering relocating a beachfront house or since I love to color coordinate, could go nicely next to Apu’s apt. I even have a nice space below my opera house (conveniently located next to his job at Monsarno) alongside the newly acquired H.O.E. *rubs hands and chortles.
Actually I need to correct myself, Springfield Lake is bigger, initially I thought it wasn’t so jumped on the “find anything to vent about SPH” bang wagon and away I went! haha sorry everyone.
Didn’t buy the Victorian house yet, but really thinking about as it made me think of Frisco. Together with the Maison Derrière it might be a nice spot for a Springfield San Francisco-like neighborhood
Got the update, played for a few minutes and it crashed. Reset the device, deleted and re-installed the app, can’t get back in. Everything is fine on another device with my second game. Tried to contact EA but was only given the option to submit a question/issue to Answer HQ, whatever that is…. Any suggestions?
Could be an issue with your town specifically. All I can say is do a contact EA…try it this morning. See if the chat/call option appear.
Well, both my husband and I got the pond but when we went into the game and got it, over half the kids were running around the campfire and the remaining still have over 2 hours left to go. Yes they were all put in the campfire at the same time. Strange things happening. Any ideas?
My only guess is the update auto completed a few of them…
of course I see this after I just sent Kang to Probe Homer for 1.5 days.

Do not see the Airship in my game, and being level 58 I think I would be high enough level to see it. Hope soon though that is one of the items I’ve been waiting on.

Oh if only I’d waited to do my neighbor visits. I started them 2 hours ago, pretty much to just drop terrors. I only have about 70 neighbors, many of whom had no room, and it still took me an hour due the the screen whizzing around every time I dropped one! Tomorrow’s going to be so much easier!
Has anyone also seen Duffman at Moe’s at the same time Carl is doing his Halloween task? It made me chuckle. 😱

If you mean bumped out of the Campifre task then yes this happened to me too, all the kids except the storyteller was left. Unsure what the reasoning behind that happening was.
Lack of QA by EA. it’s a bug they didn’t fix or didn’t find. Happened to me 3 times tonight.
I like this “pond” more than Lake Springfield. (Now I need to figure out what to do with Lake Springfield.)
Yeah, I was thinking it might look better in SH than the lake does. Springfield Lake probably belongs in Springfield proper anyways…
Wow, wasn’t expecting this. That pond is HUGE, too! What slumbering eldritch horror will Homer awaken in its depths?!??
The game gave me a dialogue between Homer and Bart regarding donuts floating in an algae covered pond. It then gave me a very large pond to place. I found an open space to place it, but th n the pond disappeared as did another item that was offered. And I have lost my kill it mart skin, though the associated tasks remain.
Off to close down the game, close down my device and re attempt.
Well, that worked.
Now I need to figure out which of the buildings is the “new” building.
