Here we are in the middle of Act 2 and something in our game has restarted today…the Shopkeeper’s Challenges!
So let’s take a look at what you’ll need to do for 5 days during week 3 to earn bonus crafting currency and 20 bonuts!
Normally I wait until Tuesday to post these, just so I can verify the first couple of days…and make sure they match what we see in the files. BUT because of the wrong wording, everyone’s having trouble with today’s (Monday) task, so I opted to post these now. If I see anything that changes though I will change the chart on those post to match…
Here’s what the Shopkeeper has in store for us this week…

A Note About the Bunny Challenge (Monday, Day 1):

However, as many of you are noticing, if you squish Bunnies it doesn’t add to the total. That’s because EA goofed on the writing. It shouldn’t say Squish Bunnies, it should say Squish Skeletons. So if you tap 30 Skeletons it will clear the task for you.
Bottom line: For Day 1, squish SKELETONS not Bunnies.

IMO. No. The task doesn’t outweigh the donut cost on it.

I think it is worth it! Looks awesome! Has a few actions when ya tap it. But that is just my opinion. I love halloween and just had to have a huge pumpkin! Alissa is correct though, ya dont get much out of it but a cute charlie brownish task for Milhouse.

It was a massive confusion, I had few skeletons leftover when I started making bunnies … and I didn’t understand why were those 6 bunnies so special to add in to total…I started playing last year when Halloween update started ,since then I’m waiting for Kodos,and I’m very happy I have him… I’ve just spent my doughnuts so these bonuses are awsomeeee and going to be spent on K9
Reported it to EA, but I am also unable to get into the game. I’m in an endless loop of seeing the opening movie (even though I am level 58) and then disconnecting from the server.
Now that all the prices are earned I can now concentrate on the donuts from the railway. Skeletons will be eventually be picked up from visiting neighbours.
One thing still puzzles me. What will a truck load of wailing walls look like? Will I be able to find a design or will I hide them behind all the training walls and decorate with tennis courts?
Nearly ever time I click on the shopkeepers symbol (top right) I get thrown out of the game and anything I’ve collected hasn’t counted.do you know of a glitch that’s forcing the game to close?

Ahhh that explains why squishing, stomping, popping, stabbing and exploding those darn bunnies wasn’t working!! Thank you should know by now to check on here lol x
Ugh. On top of this being an annoying error, the last thing I wanted was skeletons. I have no use for them and already had more than 3000 sitting there unused. Everything else has some use, because brains and snakes make multipliers, and bunnies make a consumerism decoration, but I actually avoid skeletons as much as possible, so I’m really glad you posted this!
Oh well, at least I could store Bart and put Martin back on duty once I got thirty!
Just collect them from your neighbors’ towns – that’s what I did! My Springfield kids just continued to spawn zombies for me all day.
I thought about doing that, but it can take so long to go through every town looking for stuff, especially when most people were probably spawning bunnies. I just let skeletons spawn for a short while and I was fine.
Haha, well I’m glad that the answer was so simple…a small inconvenience though since I started making bunnies, even though i’m on zombies, and now I have to make skeletons. However, stuff happens and at least, as Alissa points out, we have till the next challenge starts to complete this one.
Are you kidding me? I live in the UK and will never be able to generate 30 skeletons in the next 9 hourswithout staying up all night! Aarrgggghhh EA!
Well….the good news is you have until next monday at 7:59am to finish it.
In otherwords you don’t have to complete it today. It’ll still be there tomorrow, along with day 2 unlocking, and it won’t impact your ability to get the bonuts. As long as it’s completed before it resets next week.
If you’re fire is spawning skeletons and you’ve upgraded to around level 20, chances are it will spit out 30 skeletons over the four hours. This happened for me in my level 58 and level 30 games. Inconvenient, but not impossible.
Or, as long as you have friends to visit and haven’t used daily allocation, only squash skeletons – 10 friends with skeletons will get you there too.
I just upgraded my campfire with Skeletons yesterday. Forgot to change it to zombies before going to bed. Now my town was filled with skeletons and I was disappointed to see bunnies to be required. As I was clearing my skeletons, I completed the challenge! Woohooo. One of the good goofups by EA. 😉

So I have been getting the cannot connect to server error since right after the shop keeper challenge updated. Was fine an hour before that. I basically can’t even get to the login page. Any ideas?
Hard close and restart. Could just be a server error.
I have hard closed,restarted my iPad and even removed and tried to reinstall the app. Always get server connect error.
Well..either wait to see if it comes back up. Or contact EA

Does anyone else have all the animations suddenly running without tapping? Feels like Halloween in my town… Spooky! The fireworks are going off by themselves, the ghost is popping in and out of its coffin nonstop, the gate is glowing constantly, there are elves flying around the tubes in my toyshop. Must be slow to visit my town on some devices tonight 😐
I have indeed seen that, now and then — but not just during this Halloween event; it happens randomly. It does seem to be more frequent at the moment, though… no complaint from me, as it gives me another chance to see animations that don’t happen very often, or for very long.
aaaand that’s why I always check here before I get too frustrated.

Wish I had done the same…..
How do we actually go about complaining to EA about things like this? I was late to the party (started playing about 2 weeks ago) so I’ve been in constant catchup mode ever since.
What seems simple for a level 50 player could be literally impossible for others. I didn’t have Bart until a few days ago and almost the *entire* halloween line would not start until I got him. Then they require you to magic up 900 each of brains and bones in the remaining 2 days so you can get Hugo, or spend real cash on 300+ donuts!
I get that most people will have been playing for months already, but I feel for any other players that started after the event began… The whole thing just feels like a con.

Main thing is…..don’t let it put you off the game, there will be future events that you can fully participate in,
All recent threads have contained questions asking Alissa which items may return from previous years. All those people asking must have just missed it first time around, and a lot of stuff does come back

Except for the few people who started playing this game when it first started, everyone has been in this situation at some point when they were new to the game. We all had events that we either couldn’t participate in or could participate in only in a limited way because we were too new. It’s not reasonable to expect EA to make everything doable by every player, including ones who just started playing; instead, most newbies just realize that they may just have to wait to level up a bit to become a fully able player.
Just try to enjoy whatever you *can* do in this event and, if you stick with the game for a while, you won’t be a newbie anymore and will be able to more fully participate in future events (maybe even in time for the Christmas event!). For now, I’d focus on paying the main game quests so you can get to a better level (doesn’t have to be all the way into the 50s…by the 30s, or maybe even the 20s, you should be in okay shape).

I started playing TSTO with about a week left of last year’s THOH event. I was pretty bummed about missing out, but that’s the way it goes, unless you’ve been playing since the very beginning. I didn’t buy donuts last year, as I didn’t know if I wanted to spend real money on the game yet. Just take your time, keep an eye on what you know you want, and next Halloween, snap ’em up with donuts. EA’s pretty good about re-releasing items. 🙂
While you might miss out on this event, you will continue to be better positioned for future events. I think we have all had this dilemma as we started out. Especially for those of us trying to keep to the free play mode (with a deviation due to a good Frink deal…)
I was the same way, but like the other said, take your time, finish what you can. Christmas usually has a big event too, so you’ll be a little farther ahead by then, and so on. There’s stuff from previous years I’d LOVE to have, but missed out on. Just keep playing and building between events and pretty soon they are easier to do. It feels discouraging, but they’re always adding events through the year. Plug along completing what you can. 🙂 It’s worth it!
If I didn’t know to go directly here with any problem, I would still be mindlessly squishing bunnies and shrieking “Where are my squishes? Why don’t they show????”

Thanks for posting this – like 90% of my friends I’ve been generating and squishing bunnies all morning. EA should give out some bonuts as how would anyone know what was going on unless they subscribe to TSTOA? Just goes to show you – you shouldn’t try to play this game without being a subscriber to TSTOA!

And my campfire is showing how many Zombies I have collected.
Weird.
At level 40 +/-, and 6000 +/- of all crafting currencies, time to,concentrate on zombies.
Question to ponder, in Act 3, what new items will appear and what will those items cost and will anyone kick themselves for not earning or saving various currencies.
Well…..Martin telling stories will spawn Zombies.

There’s also a strange bug with Fairy Kodos. If you’re squishing stuff and she’s flying around, if you tap horizontally to her, or just below, you’ll get teleported to the Simpson’s house. Really annoying and I wondered if anyone else has experienced this? In the meantime, I’m gonna just not do the Flirt With Humans mission.
Yeah, seems like a goof with coding, the hit-box around her is wider than it should be. After dong that task for her question, she’s now regularly spreading glitter around Springfield with Smithers 🙂

LoL. 99 percent of my neighbors are for some reason all on bunnies right now too… Hmmmm wonder why? Halloween bunny slaughter of 2015 we will place it next to the fixed xmas prize wheel.

Another day, another SNAFU for EA. I interrupted upgrading with snakes to switch to bunnies. Thanks for the heads-up,TSTOA! In 3 hours, I can switch to skeletons. I was confused because my bunny count stopped at 15. I guess it counted squished skeletons in neighbor visits?
Yrs, it does…I took care of all 30 of my skeletons just by visiting neighbors, so I wouldn’t have to interrupt my zombie fest. 🙂
The Shopkeeper’s task actually unlocked at 7am for me. I’m guessing this is because we changed the clocks yesterday and the EA servers still think we’re on BST rather than GMT 🙂

This week’s tasks seem a little more time consuming than last week’s, but should still be quite doable. But I must be drawing a blank on something…how do you make someone visit the Simpson’s house? (I know I’m gonna feel stupid when I see the answer to this…)

why are they more time consuming?
having fun with cameras x5 is easy, just send 5 characters to the kill e mart, done in 4hrs. visiting the simpsons house is done in 16hrs. squishing skeletons and zombies is done in 5hrs.
only time consuming thing is telling 4 spooky stories, as that takes 16 hours
Oh, I didn’t mean to imply they were difficult or *too* time consuming…just combating them to last week’s tasks, which were incredibly easy!

Thought I was going mad! Had gone in & out to neighbours, in & out of KL, logged in & out of game, hidden & replaced pet cemetery, and still couldn’t get my bunny count up!
