Quick Tip: Craft the X-mas Trees Slightly Irregular for 20
40
ASAP, it pays out Mistletoe (THERE IS A BUG WITH THIS PERTAINING TO WEEKLY CHALLENGES. See this post: http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/12/20/christmas-trees-slightly-irregular-week-3-challenge-bug/)
SIDE NOTE BUNNY: As I keep seeing this same thing in the comments, I will just put the information up here instead of copy and paste over n over in comments below. You MUST have your Characters free for any of the Questlines to trigger in Act 2. If they were stuck in say… the Snowman or Gingerbread House Tasks from Act 1, those are still timing down… so you will either HAVE to wait until they are done and you can get them out or store their buildings they came with to pull them out right away(if an option). Either way, they all MUST be free for the Questline Progression. (Mainly Homer, Lisa, Moe, and later Krusty.)
If you can’t find a Character, it is most likely they are stuck in the Snowman or Gingerbread House Tasks. It won’t be until they are done that the icon will show for you to tap and clear them. While trapped there, they can’t be used for any other tasks… including Questlines and for the Petting Zoo.
Of course, try the Basics too… like force close the app and restart device if a task seems “stuck” and “DO IT” won’t show.
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s time! Act 2 is upon us!
Remember…this is an automatic change in your game. Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..
Lisa will start things off for you
Just what does Act 2 have in store for us? Let’s take a look…

New Prize Currency for Act 2..
Mistletoe
You’ll earn Mistletoe similar to the same way you earned Santa Hats in Act 1, but with different buildings/items to upgrade.
-Tapping Merrymakers will earn you Mistletoe (they’ll still earn 3/tap…)
-You can also earn Mistletoe via the Daily Prize Combo. So basically Login everyday and you’ll earn Mistletoe

-They’ll also be awarded when you complete the MAIN questline, Turbo Tappin’ will be up later…
-You will also earn Mistletoe by upgrading the various buildings that will popup during Act 2. (follow the questline…)
Note: you will NOT earn Mistletoe from the Snowman, Gingerbread House or Wooly Bully. Those all now only earn cash.
Presents

Yes, they’re still around for Act 2 and work exactly the same as they did in Act 1.
Act 2 Personal Prizes
Picture on a Rembrandt- 2,850 ![]()
Abercrombie & Rich- 10.250 ![]()
Chocolate Shoppe- 19,250 ![]()

Festivus Comic Book Guy- 35,250 ![]()
Act 1 Prizes
IF you didn’t collect them all… you can still access them by tapping on the “ACT ONE PRIZES” tab in the Personal Prizes area. As you can no longer collect items for them, your only option now is to pay donuts to outright by each one left at the point you left off at. (just like every other event)
New Craftables Added

Act 1 Craftables
Act 1 Craftables have disappeared from the Craftng Menu. This is NOT how it should have happened, at least not how the game indicated it should have. Not sure if this is a bug or EA changed their mind. Throughout ALL of Act 1 the Crafting Menu said Event Ends…it did not say anything about crafting while you can for X amount of days. So if this intentional it’s VERY misleading by EA…

Personally, I would chat/call EA (you can contact them here) and complain about this. Based on what the game said they should NOT have disappeared and it’s not right that they did. So if it is a bug it needs to be reported, and if it was intentional than EA needs to hear that we’re ticked off about it…since the game never said they’d disappear. (like it does for prizes)
New Items in the Store
All of the items below leave our stores when Act 2 ends
New Stuff
Pig of Paradise Pen- 30 Donuts
Woolly Manmouth Pen- 30 Donuts
Land Octopus Pen- 35 Donuts
Sophie Krustofski- Sophie was added the other day 110 Donuts
YES, there will be Should I Buy posts on all of these…so please don’t ask…they’re coming.
Returning
Ebenezer Burns- 50 Donuts Should I Buy
Egg Nog Bar- 60 Donuts Should I Buy
First Ever Christmas Tree- 15 Donuts More Info
Nativity Scene- 175 Donuts More Info
Annual Gift Man- 45 Donuts More Info
Little Helper Ralph and Toy Workshop- 75 Donuts (available for 50 Donuts if you already have the Workshop and only need Ralph) More Info (according to the game files this should be in stores…I have this in ALL of my games unfortunately so I cannot verify for 100% sure)
Santa’s Workshop- 70 Donuts Should I Buy
Festive Light Plunger- 55 Donuts More info
I won’t be doing new Should I Buy posts on the returning items. Check out the older posts for details on them. If there’s no should I buy for it, check out the rundown post and details…that’ll explain what it is/does and help you make a decision.
Upgrades
You can NO LONGER upgrade the Gingerbread House or the Snowman for free. They were exclusive to Act 1. If you didn’t finish and would like to finish upgrading them it’ll now cost you donuts.
4 Buildings/Decorations for Upgrading in Act 2. These will all help earn you more Mistletoe. We’ll break them all down in more detailed posts…but here are the buildings (each has 3 levels to upgrade to):
Exotic Petting Zoo
Reindeer Burger Truck
Moonshine Shack
Fortress of Lonelitude
The questline will trigger each one of these…when in doubt work on the questline. That will guide you through everything. Don’t ignore it…
And that my friends is the details of Act 2 of Christmas! Since today’s Saturday, not too many details beyond this post will be up today. So feel free to help each other out in the comments below.
What are you’re thoughts on Act 2? Excited about the prizes? How about the new items? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

My only complaint (aside from crafting issue) was I didn’t realize upgrading the gingerbread house would stop with Act 1. I just got in before the Act ended and was unable to upgrade it like I wanted. Shame…
I agree. I’m peeved that it’s stuck like this and costs so much to upgrade via donuts. My game didn’t auto-update in iOS at the start of this event; it loaded a whopping 2days in (I didn’t know it had started!), so that in itself put me behind. My neighbor visits are also jacked up. I stop getting baubles/bows and Santa hats/mistletoe around the 16th friend when it’s supposed to go to 30. I just missed getting the cabin in the last act, missed a bunch of craftables cause I thought we’d have time, and missed getting my gingerbread house past lvl 2. 😖
No more crafting Act 1 prizes?
Boo-urns ! BOO-URNS!!!
Bring back the wheel !
Bring back the wheel?
A pox on you, a pox I say.
I haven’t watched The Simpsons in a long time so this may have been in a more recent show… In the “Christmas Trees Slightly Irregular” craft is that supposed to be a dumpster under the banner? Is there a sack leaking bright blue liquid?
Nah… it is just two bags. One a darker blue and one a lighter one… so it gives appearance of it. 😉
As a completionist I am very, very, VERY upset there was no warning we would not be able to craft Act 1 items in Act 2. WHY NO WARNING? Why is this going against every other update they have done? I really hope they bring the items back, even as a donut purchase. I will have to be smart and craft everything in Act 2 before it ends. Any recommendations on how to get EA to put the items back?
Look at post above.
Yeah, EA really dropped the ball with this. If they are going to depart from what they’ve done in other events they should at least let us know in advance with a “These crafting items will disappear in *** days” message on the crafting menu. Below are posts on the official forums about it. Hopefully if they see that a lot of people are upset they will open them back up.
http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/Missing-craftables-from-Act-1/m-p/5027133
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/0/10386744.page#35405538
I’m a completionist myself too, and it really bugs me that the only thing I missed was the Ski Chalet. I was only about 200 hundred baubles away!
It bothers me more that I had more than enough crafting currency to make it, but didn’t know it needed to be crafted within the first act. So I lost out on it for nothing. 🙁
Can’t wait till I get the Fortress of Lonelitude, looks like an No-Superman Zone!
HELP!! Tapping at my neighbors is now only paying out FP. What’s going on with that? Aren’t we supposed gain 3 mistletoe for each tap on merrymakers in our neighbors towns?
Only for the first 90 taps per day.
Not even – this time around it seems to be about half that, around 45 taps that pay event currency.
Same here. It stops for me at 15 or 16 friends.
Yeah I can get 15/16 friends max… so much for sharing the xmas spirit!! haha
That could be. I haven’t verified the count but I do visit everyone every day so I know I am getting as much as I can. That is all any of can do.
I crafted the tree lot immediately because it makes mistletoe, but now I’m worried that may have been a misstep, if what I’ve seen on other sites is correct. Apparently one of the daily challenges this week is to craft the tree lot, and since it’s unique…it may keep me (and others) from completing the weekly challenge. That’s happened before with quests like the spooky house at Halloween, but I hope it’s not the case when 20 donuts are on the line! Oh well….can’t go back now, just have to see what happens!
If you’ve already crafted it, and its exclusive, then you’ll automatically get the daily challenge award for the task, presuming there is one.
But you don’t get the reward for the challenge…it’s still telling me to craft it even though I already have 🙁
Happy Christmas, TSTO Addicts! Crafted the tree lot immediately too and it still says I need to craft one…but we can only have one in our town! Anyway, will await news about this. Thank you for all your time and effort, Alissa, Bunny, Wookie, and all the addicts who help out answering our never ending questions.
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/12/20/christmas-trees-slightly-irregular-week-3-challenge-bug/
I have crafted it before today’s daily challenge and am not receiving the reward. Does that mean I can’t move through this week’s challenges?? 😱
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/12/20/christmas-trees-slightly-irregular-week-3-challenge-bug/
I crafted early too and now it’s not showing as the challenge has been done. I tried storing and putting it back out but still not registering. Any suggestions?
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/12/20/christmas-trees-slightly-irregular-week-3-challenge-bug/
If that turns out to be true, I’m making a beeline to EA for my donuts. Not even going to wait for the last challenge of the week.
Crafting has become an annoying issue past few events…
It has just come up as a daily challenge today, I had already crafted it and yep, won’t give the reward and can’t recraft it. Disappointing!!
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/12/20/christmas-trees-slightly-irregular-week-3-challenge-bug/
I crafted it at the beginning and sure enough it won’t automatically complete that daily challenge… I’ll be emailing EA, but please let me know if you hear anything else.
Your Monday has already started?
That sucks. Dumb, dumb EA.
I had read on here yesterday that would could still craft but the ski chalet is gone 🙁
Me too, really frustrating, I was only waiting to buy in case it was a quest.
Hi everybody!!! (just got Dr. Nick recently and I love him!) First off let me say i’m sorry for being such a bad tapper! I have been playing since Halloween 2013 and this site has ALWAYS been my go-to for everything Tapped Out related. Heck, sometimes I come here just to read the comments. 🙂 But I actually have never created a WordPress account and officially joined the community. So today is the today!Thank you Alissa, Bunny, and Wookie for all you do in this amazing site!! You guys (and girls) are awesome! And congrats Alissa on the bundle of joy! She is beautiful!!
Woohoo!! 🙂
When EA at the beginning of Act 3 of the Halloween event tricked all of us into sending our characters to do the “Gather at the Simpson House” task, which effectively made that nightmares no longer spawned from the campfire (they had been promised to spawn from the campfire till the very end of the event), you told us that was OK and to calm down. And now you tell us to complain about craftables which we do not really need to complete any tasks or to get the event going. Is everything alright with you, Alissa?
That was different. An alternate “spawn” replaced them so their purpose wasn’t lost…just swapped. There still were “spawns” in Act 3.
This is complete removal of items without timers or warning. Not typical of EA at all. And in case you aren’t noticing people are upset and complaining about the misdirection, so yes… we are suggesting to contact EA on what we see as a game flaw. 😉
Down here in Australia, we don’t have mistletoe or holly so Lisa was confusing me… Glad you commenters cleared that up for me!
I crafted everything I wanted from Act 1 but was unable to finish the Gingerbread House and get Patches & Poor Violet. I’ve never not finished an Act before!
Also, the Exotic Petting Zoo triggered twice for me. As soon as I sent Moe to design his logo, Homer started his dialogue again. I’ve already bought the additions to the zoo- I really like the Woolly Mammoth but wish the pens were bigger.
It seems that “Strategies to Maximize the Hat Payout” doesn’t work any longer. Now when each of tasks is complete, any “extra” workers’ job working on that task is canceled. Is this correct?
You have to wait until all thumbs show up. Workers get kicked out if they’re not finished when the job completes.
I’m leaning toward not recommending this technique anyways, though. Probably better off just playing through.
I don’t know if there ever really were 90 friend actions/day possible in the first act. I never got that many in one go, but was going into friends towns in random bits, but I let the counter reset for well over a day going into act 2 and it DEFINITELY only gives a max of 60 daily actions now.
Me too, I don’t get 90 actions a day, I’m getting about half of that. During events I play a few times a day and I still had to use donuts to buy those two little kids because I didn’t have enough hats.
Bunny, Alissa – should we be contacting EA about this? I am mainly a freemium player and I really don’t want to spend donuts for the next two acts.
Thanks very much!
Abby_Oscar
I’d have to finish testing this round myself to verify the counts I see
I counted once and got to visit 16 neighbours, so 48 taps, before it switched to just cash and XP. I feel like it’s about the same in act 2 but I’ve got a 3-hour wait before I can confirm.
Swiss, same with me. I just counted and could only visit 16 neighbours as well.
Bunny, what was your count?
Thanks
Abby_Oscar
i gotta admit i’m a bit surprised by how many people were unable to unlock all the act 1 prizes and upgrade the attractions. i’ve been done for a few days now, earning a second round of bonuts last night before act 2 began. and i get that i’m probably in the game more than the average player, but i’ve been fairly busy this past week with work and everything that comes along with the holiday season. i remember when the event first started, everyone was praising it for its relaxed nature, and i can’t help but wonder if that led to a bit of unintentional complacency among some players….
True. I finished my Act 1 with 3 days to spare but I could only get one round of donuts. Of course I am avid player. I saw many complain that they have to work. I guess EA wanted those that work to spend donuts since they got no time.
I usually craft all prizes within the Act. In some previous events, prizes did end with Acts. But at times they come back in the last Act.
Tapebelt, your town is amazeballs!!!! Wow! So much cool 3D art. 👏 I was never much good at that.
And yes me thinks people got a little complacent with act 1. Either that or they were staggering the upgrade tasks which doesn’t seem like it was the best strategy.
The upgrade tasks are unrelated to crafting currency. The staggering only affected bonuts. Otherwise it was always noted that it would take twice as long.
I was doing it so I wouldn’t feel so rushed, take my time and feel like I got some extra hats out of it. But, I don’t think it gets you much extra, and hats were only good for the prize track….and bonuts! Unless bragging rights is a thing. 😉
I don’t recommend it this time, though. Rent collection is a big factor, if these finished buildings generate mistletoe….
Oh ya I know that, when I mentioned the staggering I was referring to those who are upset they couldn’t get the orphans though. I didn’t stagger and I just barely made it, didn’t even get one round of bonuts!
I think anyone who couldn’t craft what they wanted was either saving up or didn’t have as many great neighbours as some of us do, dropping off tons of bows every day. If it weren’t for my neighbours I definitely couldn’t have crafted close to the amount I did. 😊
Okay. Still not sure it was related. I hadn’t heard one person say they staggered and missed out. Maybe were close….but most everyone was (I was done two days early…). The people missing out said they missed a few days or had work or similar real life time stealing issues.
I did some staggering AND got bonuts. Why do you think it was such a close call for you? Not enough time in the game? Did you play at least 3 or 4 times a day?
On crafting, I agree. I have more than enough bows to get all 4 big items from Things Unnecessary (but not enough Baubles for maybe 5 more days (that’s Xmas day!)), thanks to my neighbors!! I didn’t sit on anything because I headed the warning of every event from the past that we should craft all we want just in case they don’t make it to the next act. (I don’t think that was stated this event, oddly.) They always made it before, but thankfully I’m the pessimistic boy scout type. 😉
I really don’t know why it was so close for me. I play MANY times a day. More than I’m comfortable admitting LOL. I tap merry makers constantly, never let too much time pass before I start the next upgrading task, send all my gifts every day, etc. And I started as soon as it was released. Oh well 😊
And ya those darn baubles are gonna be the death of me. I should add up how many I’m gonna need…
I play a lot but never spend doughnuts to speed things up and I finished early with about two maybe three rounds of bonuts. Plus I completed the heights upgrade the day before it started and was so burned out from all the grinding I didn’t even update until the next day and barely touched my phone the second. I understand people work, so do I but if you really want to get things keep up at lunch, breaks, no one works nonstop 8,10 hours a day.i think it was Eater 14 where I was slipping into the bathroom every couple of hours to keep up. If you ignore everything but the event you can easily do it in under 5 minutes
Have to disagree Ryan, as we discussed in another thread, up till recently, I was working at least a ten hour day with an hour travel each way, so was always gone at least twelve hours. No Wi-Fi at work nor good enough phone signal to play the game, and believe me, I was frowned at for taking breaks, we can’t assume that we know what employees rights are like in other countries 🙂
Wow, sorry to hear that. Where are you if I may inquire
England, in the 21st century, wouldn’t believe it would you?
Stay in school kids get a proper job !
😁 😀 🙂 🎁 🎄
I was under the understanding you guys had better labour laws than we did. I’m obviously from the states since I assume that’s where everyone’s from.
Maybe years ago Ryan,
Mrs.Thatcher did away with the strength of the unions, and there’s the whole of eastern Europe over here waiting for your job and probably willing to do it for half the money 💷 £ £
🎁 🎄 🙂
That’s why I volunteer for the Sanders campaign. We’re having a bit of a watershed moment across the pond
How bad was the frowning? Did they also furrow their brows? Little head shakes and a tisk?
☝
Bad employers is not a subject even I can joke about 🙂
Sorry, I thought you meant other employees. I don’t know why I thought that.
Do you by any chance buy donuts? I happened to have some vacation time as this first phase hit and was tapping like mad and was only able to complete the final tasks just hours before act 2 hit.
I’m at level 59 and have been playing for over a year and have been really lucky with winning extra characters and this event still has me barely able to keep up.
i’m not a “completionist”, play mostly freemium, and NEVER speed up tasks with donuts. i have been playing for over 2 years now though, and i’m also good about getting to these event tasks to clear and set the next ones without letting too much extra time slip by… yes, i even set alarms if truly necessary, haha.
I finished Act I with less than 24 hours left and I was playing several times per day. I usually finish event acts several days ahead of schedule, so this one felt really tight to me.
I just didn’t finish by about 1500 and was one level down on the gingerbread house
i’m sorry to hear that neighboreeno. i would’ve tried to send more gifts your way if i knew, not that more bows would’ve made a difference. were you doubling up on the tasks for the snowman and gingerbread house, trying to maximize santa hats, or did you just simply not have didn’t have enough free time?
My personal problem was my phone decided it didn’t want to play tsto, so I could only play when at home on my Kindle, plus I was rearranging my town and accidentally left Ned in storage. It was only when I came on here to read about the gingerbread house that I realised and was two days late then XD
i apologize if i came off sounding critical of people being lazy with that last bit; i certainly didn’t mean it that way, and hope nobody interpreted as such. i play more like ryan for sure, using any free chance i get (if necessary) to check up on my game, taking extra trips to the bathroom at work, even tapping in front of the class at my desk while the students are working on a project…… shhhh! 😎 i also have a great prepaid cell plan with tmobile that gives me unlimited data and lte speed that doesn’t cap until i hit 5gb, all for $30 a month. i’ve been using it for years, so sometimes i take it for granted, and must remember that there are others out there, like lee said, that may not have access to data, or even wifi, when out on the job.
at the end of the day, the game is most likely intended for a younger audience than those that frequently comment on this site, and i think we must all keep that in mind when trying to understand how ea creates time constraints for its events.
When did I become the definition of obsession? LOL I think it was in the mid 90’s at least my obsession with this game is healthier than my obsessions back then. I just excel at going overboard I guess.
i was just agreeing with the need to tap at work during certain times or events. it’s not like i’m always on this site talking about this game, or writing 16 bar verses about it, or anything like that………..
LOL, I am actually flattered EA tried to get the term whale to describe those idiots who spend their phone bill money on pixels yet I’ve become the mascot.
I feel like the pace of act 1 was perfect for me. I work Mon-Fri and can’t access the game between about 07:00 and 19:00. Also, I downloaded the Christmas update at least 1 day late and had 1 night away with work where I couldn’t tap. I was still able to get 1 round of bonuts.
I focus everything on the event tasks – anything else can wait. If there are characters not being used to earn event currency they help with monorail / recycling stuff. Everyone else goes on tasks the same length as the snowman/gingerbread/exotic zoo builders, or whatever I can get away with to make sure they are ready if they need to be for the next tasks.
I also do my neighbour visits and present dropping, until the event currency stops paying out.
At the weekends I make sure I’m ready for the handovers after 4/6/10 hours or whatever, but that’s about it – no special schedule for tapping merrymakers or collecting from buildings.
Basically, I’m not doing overly much, but I *am* logging in 2 or 3 times a day and that seems to be more than enough but any less than that and I can see why people might have problems.
I absolutely hate that you can only get bows via presents and weekly challenges. I haven’t had a present in days; there’s no way I will get enough bows to craft everything I want.
Merrymakers also randomly drop off crafting currency.
I hadn’t seen that, I’ll have to keep an eye out to see how often this random truly is. Thanks.
It must be really random…I have never seen that happen :/
I might be mistaken, but I thought I just saw that happen recently and thought “Oh! So you also get crafting currency sometimes….actually, that’s usually the way it works, so why am I surprised?”
But maybe it was all a dream…. 😉
Well, I was waiting to craft the clam sign in case I needed my baubles for something more beneficial. I didn’t consider the sign to be a must-have, but I find this change to the game mechanics to be rather odd.
i actually missed out on the clam sign and the igloo, as i also truly did not expect the act 1 craftables to disappear (especially since crafting currency stayed the same). oh well, that clam sign was awfully small for how expensive it was, the flying dutchman will be fine without it.
I crafted the igloo for the first week’s challenge, or I might have missed that as well. I wouldn’t have been heartbroken, but I do like it. (It’s in my mini golf course.)
Look out Brooders is coming 🙂
Just a heads up that the Xmas Slightly Irregular tree stand pays out in event currency every four hours. Might want to make it a priority before other craftable items.
Thanks!
So I checked out the forums and found a post about crafting items on one of the forums and made my own on the other. I encourage everybody upset about this decision / bug to add their own comment to the posts. As the Addicts said, if EA sees that a lot of people are upset by this then maybe (hopefully) they’ll actually do something about it.
http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/Missing-craftables-from-Act-1/m-p/5027133
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/0/10386744.page#35405538
I “me too” ‘d and “Agreed” to each of them.
I also sent an email to EA…you can see there respone in my comment to another poster below…
I’m so annoyed the craft items changed. I was about 100 decorations away from building my last 2 items and didn’t feel like spending donuts for them. Really hope it was a mistake.
As to the Act 1 into act crafting and Gingerbread (no longer build) issues I also contacted EA via a rep. Hope that they get fixed!
Assuming that this rep know what he/she is talking about (which is a big assumption), it doesn’t look like there’s much hope for them bringing back the ski chalet and igloo….here’s the response that I just got to the email that I sent to EA:
———————-
Dear Sandra,
Thank you for writing to us at Electronic Arts Customer Experience.
I am sorry to know that you couldn’t make craft in TSTO in the limited time. It must be annoying.
However, please let me share that time is over. So, it is not possible for us to add those items into your account. Nevertheless the best thing I can do for you is that I can add 15 donuts into your account for this inconvenience caused to you. So, if you agree please let me know.
———————
I guess that 15 donuts is better than nothing, but I still think it’s pretty shabby of them to switch up how the crafting works without giving us any notice of an end date!
That sounds too… scripted. Too… outsourced “we haven’t a clue, throw em sprinklies”… but hey… free. Lol
That’s what I thought, and, to top it all off, the email says to let them know if I want the 15 donuts, but, when I replied to the email to say, “well, if it’s a choice between 15 donuts and nothing, I’ll take 15 donuts,” I got a response saying that they don’t monitor that email box anymore and to look in the help files for answers! *major eye roll*
I’m gonna be on the road to NYC on Monday, so no chance to call them until at least next Thursday (by which time this issue will be pretty stale), so I hope those of you who can call on Monday will light up the lines and maybe they’ll fix the problem!! (Hope springs eternal…)
Yah. Outsource Brush off. You have to reopen it. Or start a new one.
I believe it was a mistake on EA’s part and they’ll restore the old items. Every event and every act always comes with a glitch just don’t expect it for a few days.
I wouldn’t take that reply, which is obviously from someone far away who knows very little to nothing about the game. Suggest you don’t give up and try calling when the option is available. I am also super annoyed.
I agree…problem is, I’ll be out of town until next Thursday, at which point I think it would be a bit too late to call. I’m hoping that enough other people will call and complain so that they fix that problem.
It’s too bad they don’t allow you to finish upgrading the gingerbread house. As well I spent like $30 on donuts so I could get all of the act 1 prizes. People work and sometimes can’t play during the day. I felt they were better in other events in giving more time and not having to collect as much currency to get the prizes.
I’m pretty frustrated up with this event. I was hoping to craft the ski chalet too but missed out on it :/
My doughnuts have disappeared
Message EA
Has anybody else been bottle-necked in the crafting section by the blue baubles? I’m had a very tough time getting enough to get the Ski Chalet and the Clam sign in act 1
I think it depends on how regularly you can get into your town, if your merrymakers are maxing out then you’re going to get fewer baubles. Your town can hold a maximum of 40 with a bank of 20 and they spawn at a rate of 12 per hour.
Dont know if this has be poated or not, but if you were unable to get your gingerbread mansion completed you can not store it. So it will now sit in your town as a monument to your failure and mock you every time you see it. :'( stupid short acts.
You should be able to store it once the event is over, if this event works like all of the others.
i think he’s just annoyed because if the mansion is complete, you can already store it now… it no longer has event currency payout, just in-game cash and xp.
Well it’s both the fact i didn’t get to complete it and it doesn’t give any currency unless it’s finished. Just needed one more day 🙁
…but only after someone from EA comes by and tattoos an image of it on your forehead. 😈
Hi, I have finished Lisa’s task, and have all my citizens free, but Moe does not start the next task. Is there any glitch and how can I get fixed it?
Where’s Homer?
You should refer to Homer as the beef. If yr old enough to get that
Lol
Once again, Bunny, thanks so much for getting all this info out so quickly. While I’m a little sad that the craftables changed (I was waiting on the clam sign), I got everything I wanted out of Act 1 simply by playing through the questline and upgrading my upgradables (yes, I work, and can’t play while I’m there, AND I started a day late. No, I didn’t use donuts.). I could care less that the icon is holly, not mistletoe (I know what both look like in reality…nothing like each other). It’s a cartoon game, not National Geographic! Just play the game and have fun!
Bunny, Alissa and Wookie, you 3 do such an amazing job keeping us informed, with no compensation except the thanks you get from us, your readers. I for one appreciate all you do, you make the game more fun for me, and I wish you all the happiest of holidays, and a joyous 2016!
Our darling Alissa prepped this one actually. I juse added the bit up top. 😉
But you’re welcome. Helping is what we like to do. Glad you appreciate it. 🙂
Then I am doubly impressed. How Alissa does all this with her new little one I’ll never know!
Very very quietly
I think Kang and Kodos are really the developers of this game….that would explain the lack of understanding of more “nuanced” Earthly things, like the difference between candy apples and caramel apples and the difference between holly and mistletoe. (I think we had a similar problem during the Terwillger event, with shovels/spades.)
Very big like × 10
Thank you Sandra, now they might listen
See everybody Sandra says the same as me,
Holly = red berries
Mistletoe = white berries
Now I’m off for a can of soda (by can of soda I mean cup of tea but it’s OK to call things by the wrong name)
😁 🎄 🎁 ❄ ⛄ 🙂
“We’re painting the berries red… painting the berries red…”
“Mistletoe And Holly”
Oh, by gosh, by golly
It’s time for mistletoe and holly
Tasty pheasants, Christmas presents
Countrysides covered with snow
Oh, by gosh, by jingle
It’s time for carols and Kris Kringle
Overeating, merry greetings
From relatives you don’t know
Then comes that big night
Giving the tree the trim
You’ll hear voices by starlight
Singing a Yuletide hymn
Oh, by gosh, by golly
It’s time for mistletoe and holly
Fancy ties an’ granny’s pies
An’ folks stealin’ a kiss or two
As they whisper, “Merry Christmas” to you
[Interlude:]
Then comes that big night
Giving the tree the trim
You’ll hear voices by starlight
Singing a Yuletide hymn
Oh, by gosh, by golly
It’s time for mistletoe and holly
Fancy ties an’ granny’s pies
An’ folks stealin’ a kiss or two
As they whisper, “Merry Christmas” to you
sinatra > buble
But nothing beats Hamm & Bublé.
Bubble & squeak, black pudding, sausage, bacon, fried bread, egg, hash browns, mushrooms, beans, brown sauce
…..and a mug of tea with 4 sugars
😀 🎄 🎁 🙂
I’ve had a few “cups of tea” in my life; my favorite is Cardhu. 😁
Had to look that up, but got you now 🍷
🎁 🎄 🙂
Then that could mean that THOH episodes are actually canon. 🎃🎁
I like your thought.
Still hoping fir candy cane cooling towers, here.
Expatrie-
Yeah, I’ve seen that in friends towns (or maybe it was only the Other Springfield)…
So annoyed about the ski chalet…had plenty of crafting materials, but just was planning to do most of the crafting at the end, per usual. I’ll complain, but I’m skeptical that it will do much good. 🙁
Bunny – would you suggest waiting until Monday to complain by phone, or do you think this kind of thing works just as well via chat?
.
Well first I’d say start a Forum thread if one not already in place and light it up. You can try chat… just dunno who you’ll get.
A thread has been created on EA Answers here http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/Missing-craftables-from-Act-1/m-p/5027113#U5027113 (only a couple of posts so far) and there are several threads about Act 1 craftables in the Game Discussion area of the main EA forum. It’s worth adding your name to the list.
No no no. Wait until Monday. All week I’ve been having problems with them. The outsourced people don’t even have the same access or authorization to do many things. They’re basically a messaging service. I finally screamed until they patched me through to the Texas office.
By the way my rep had nothing but the upmost respect for the addicts. He said many good things. He asked me a question and I wasn’t sure, told him to look it up on here.
Im in the exact same boat. Was going with my usual strategy of waiting until act 3 to craft the big things I wanted in case I didn’t have enough crafting materials for everything. Kind of a cheap shot that we weren’t told the items were going to disappear. I feel like we will get a donut apology, but I really wanted the ski chalet 🙁 luckily I crafted the igloo at least. Definitely disappointed!
