SIDE NOTE BUNNY: As I keep seeing this same thing in the comments, I will just put the information up here instead of copy and paste over n over in comments below. You MUST have your Characters free for any of the Questlines to trigger in Act 2. If they were stuck in say… the Snowman or Gingerbread House Tasks from Act 1, those are still timing down… so you will either HAVE to wait until they are done and you can get them out or store their buildings they came with to pull them out right away(if an option). Either way, they all MUST be free for the Questline Progression. (Mainly Homer, Lisa, Moe, and later Krusty.)
If you can’t find a Character, it is most likely they are stuck in the Snowman or Gingerbread House Tasks. It won’t be until they are done that the icon will show for you to tap and clear them. While trapped there, they can’t be used for any other tasks… including Questlines and for the Petting Zoo.
Of course, try the Basics too… like force close the app and restart device if a task seems “stuck” and “DO IT” won’t show.

Mistletoe
You’ll earn Mistletoe similar to the same way you earned Santa Hats in Act 1, but with different buildings/items to upgrade.
-Tapping Merrymakers will earn you Mistletoe (they’ll still earn 3/tap…)
-You can also earn Mistletoe via the Daily Prize Combo. So basically Login everyday and you’ll earn Mistletoe
-They’ll also be awarded when you complete the MAIN questline, Turbo Tappin’ will be up later…
-You will also earn Mistletoe by upgrading the various buildings that will popup during Act 2. (follow the questline…)
Note: you will NOT earn Mistletoe from the Snowman, Gingerbread House or Wooly Bully. Those all now only earn cash.

Act 1 Craftables
Act 1 Craftables have disappeared from the Craftng Menu. This is NOT how it should have happened, at least not how the game indicated it should have. Not sure if this is a bug or EA changed their mind. Throughout ALL of Act 1 the Crafting Menu said Event Ends…it did not say anything about crafting while you can for X amount of days. So if this intentional it’s VERY misleading by EA…
Personally, I would chat/call EA (you can contact them here) and complain about this. Based on what the game said they should NOT have disappeared and it’s not right that they did. So if it is a bug it needs to be reported, and if it was intentional than EA needs to hear that we’re ticked off about it…since the game never said they’d disappear. (like it does for prizes)

Upgrades
You can NO LONGER upgrade the Gingerbread House or the Snowman for free. They were exclusive to Act 1. If you didn’t finish and would like to finish upgrading them it’ll now cost you donuts.
4 Buildings/Decorations for Upgrading in Act 2. These will all help earn you more Mistletoe. We’ll break them all down in more detailed posts…but here are the buildings (each has 3 levels to upgrade to):

The questline will trigger each one of these…when in doubt work on the questline. That will guide you through everything. Don’t ignore it…

I was really surprized that they removed the upgrades for the gingerbread house.I didnt see a count down timer or any warning on that. ( I hadnt read every post, and was trying not to obsess this event 😉 ). I was one set of tasks away. I am excited about the new prizes! I just feel a little cheated! Luckily I crafted the last item before i went to bed…i was hoping for two igloos…but one is great too.
Well, I am slightly bummed, missed the orphans by a hair. Are they worth spending donuts on?
How much are they asking for in your game? If you only just missed, it might be cheap I spent 40 rushing gingerbread upgrade to make sure I got them with one hour to spare 🙂
Disappointed that act 1 craftables are gone. I hope there’s a patch to bring them back. I would like to craft a ski chalet and an igloo.

It’s very un-christmasy from EA to trick us like that 🙁 Hope that all those complains will push them to return the items. And if they want to do something like that in future events, they need to give us proper info.
Last night when I went to bed, I had my last group of characters on the last Gingerbread Mansion update task. This morning when I tapped it, it upgraded for me, so I’m glad I didn’t have to pay to upgrade it (I doubt I would have).
I’m disappointed in the crafting menu. I wanted the Swiss Chalet. I’ll complain to EA, but I’m not hoping for much there.
Can anyone tell me if Little Helper Ralph is a premium skin? Reading through old posts it seems like he earns just the normal rate… Still. I would love me that Toy Workshop! Too bad I only started playing this year…
Originally, Little Helper Ralph wasn’t a premium skin; however, I think he became one during this event. (Unfortunately, Ralph is busy at the Hot Squishee stand right now, so I can’t check to be sure.)

Very upset with the “changes”. Craftables use to stay, why did some go away… And really, we can’t finish the gingerbread house?? No timer! I never post, but missing the kids was bad enough, now the chalet and gingerbread house too!! And only able to gift 5 presents is just sad. Season of giving seems lost. I have really enjoyed this game and the improvements, but this time ea really surprised me, disappointing for sure. Very mixed feelings on continuing.
My heart actually sank when Lisa’s dialogue introduced the act-2 currency. I was so close to earning Virgil’s cabin. But now it would cost me 85 donuts. ::sob:: I also never got a chance to craft the ski chalet, and I was looking forward to having it. 🙁
I really wish EA could have held off until Monday and given us the weekend to complete act one.
Huh…it’s so weird that they got rid of the act 1 craftables…have they ever done that? Craftables usually just get added on, not deleted. Thankfully I crafted everything, but I was going to craft another chalet at the end if I had enough currency left over. Oh well!
Also sucks that people can no longer upgrade their snowman/gb house. There was really no reason for them to take that away. I’m sure if they wanted to they could’ve just made it payout cash instead of currency at each level and people still would’ve done it. Again thankfully I got them both upgraded. Decided to put the house back to level 1 though. I’m kinda sick of all these guady, over the top buildings 😊
However these two thing combined may make this event go from best ever to worst ever for a lot of players…
Moe’s petting zoo looks like an amazing building!!! Can’t wait to upgrade that. Does anyone know if the premium displays (mammoth, octopus) actually come with those animals?? That would be super tempting…🐍🐳🦄
Also very excited for the Chocolate Shoppe!! Is that the one from Homer’s fantasy where he takes the bite outta the chocolate dog? LOL
The new craftables look really fun. Built the tree lot. Efcot centre and outdoor fireplace are the next ones I want.
Finally, I’m on the fence about Sophie. I usually don’t buy premium characters unless I REALLY want them, and she’s super expensive for a character without a building, but she’s so cute! And she’s not a totally random character.
Now for neighbour visits. My present have unfortunately time slipped. I sent them out at 2am last night. Don’t know if I’ll be able to stay up that late again.

I’m using ornate tiles to pass the time while I wait for wood tiles. 2h versus 2d…. It doesn’t seem very nice. Is there a point to the pointless waiting?
I don’t think so. And I think it actually goes up to 3 days wait the more you build 😤

If cuteness is a deciding factor for you on Sophie I can tell you her spend time with Krusty job is adorable as they walk around town together. Kind of like Agnes and Comic Book Guy’s joint task but less creepy.

Just to warn you since Halloween I’ve been really lazy on Neighbor visits. Between events I usually go every day, when it takes two hours to get through my neighbors I burn out and give up and I have a mile long list of presents to drop and with only 5 a day.
Also my town is very compact, no real designs just groupings that I find aesthetic. But I always have at least one of everything on display.
That’s ok. I’m not the best neighbour either when there’s not an event. I really don’t expect much out of my neighbours though, as long as you have stuff to tap when I visit and you’re active during events those are really my only two criteria.
And of course you haven’t been inactive longer than 2 weeks. But even then if I know you from here I still won’t delete you even if it’s been months of inactivity 😊
“Save donuts for the bear”, I have to chant when I’m tempted. But I seriously hope it is a free bear, an NPC (or full!), in the same spot as that dancing reindeer in act 1.

Yeah but generally currency is event-related. The fact that the game says the event ends Jan 2, and act 2 the same day, suggests the third act goes somewhat off-track (Christmas wise), so the pacifiers represent something to do with babies. I’d personally like to think EA would include Maggie if it was a baby event. So, you’re right that she’s not ‘guaranteed’ but I wouldn’t say she was previously anyway.

Any suggestions on how to earn bows? I’m struggling to earn even 50 of them a day. I missed a crafting prize from act 1, and now I’m expecting to miss most of the act 2 ones. I feel like 5 presents is just not enough. And relying on friends to drop presents in your Springfield is hardly reliable. I’m really disappointed that the act one crafting prizes are gone. Otherwise, I’m really liking this event, LOTS of buildings. I’ve already had to expand my Springfield three times!

I was trying to buy donuts and it won’t let me with the three possible reasons, but when I went in another game to make in app purchases, it was allowing me. It started happening in act 2 because I was able to get donuts yesterday. Do you know of any fix to this?
Try logging out of TSTO. Then your App Market app. Restart device. Log back into app market. Then relaunch tsto. Outside that… EA
Is there some magic method of getting ornaments that I am somehow missing? I’m only getting like 50 from friends visits, I’ll have to keep closer count, I wasn’t worried until the crafts changed, I was 300 short of the clam sign and now I need 2400 for what I want this time. I sign in enough to never max on how many merry makers are walking around my town.
As the ‘mistletoe’ has arrived, I cannot find other ways to collect the green ‘bows’ apart from ‘5 gift boxes’ from friends, even though the new craft prize by the bows have been more added.
Would you suggest any idea?

I agree with the interpretation of the event ends counter but now it seems intentional as the act 2 end timer is the same as the event ends timer in the crafting menu. Either that or act 3 isn’t part of the event
I will probably get yelled at for “expecting a game to be correct” but it is annoying that they would be completely right about the Nordic religious details (since yes, its stories about their gods and some people do still worship them) and then just totally screw up on creating the image to go with it. Surely since kissing under the mistletoe is such a huge tradition, people would know what it looks like? Or at least know its not holly!
This carelessness flows throughout this event. Nowhere did it say in my game that I wouldn’t be able to continue upgrading the gingerbread house. There was not even the remotest suggestion and I was part way through upgrading to lvl 3 so a bit upset by that as it still prompts me to upgrade it and I still have the quest in my quest bar to get it to lvl 5! They could have quite easily just allowed us to keep upgrading it via character tasks, even if those tasks no longer gave event currency. I’d even send people on tasks to finish it even if it didn’t award cash/xp. But expecting doughnuts to be spent on upgrading it when it no longer is anything other than a decoration when the info never stated there was a time limit to upgrade it is just greedy. I know they need to make money from the game, but doing things in this way is not the way to go about it. It makes me less likely to spend money when I finally can afford to.
Along that line, the craftable items disappearing without warning is not great. Truthfully I expected it as last year and the year before the craftable prizes would change, unlike with more recent events. The way the main event currency is counted towards act prizes has also changed back to the “old” way, which is what made me expect them going, even though I don’t like it. The totals which need collecting are back to their much higher count again too. With the Halloween event, other than not starting on time (2 or 3 days before end of event 1) I was able to easily collect the event currency needed to get all 5 of acts 2 and 3. I’ve played from the beginning for this event as often as I was able (at least once per day – was very busy, then every 4 hrs) and didn’t get enough to unlock either the 4th or 5th prizes. I played much more than I did for the first Halloween act, but didn’t get as far (was closer to getting the doughnut girl than I was to getting Virgil’s cabin). So basically this event is back to the old style event which resulted in me stopping playing.
I’m unable to work due to disability and so was able to play previous events in this style constantly. All day, sometimes even all night. I ended up playing whilst eating lunch/dinner too! And still came nowhere near close to finishing any “acts” of any events. I was hoping that the Halloween event being so manageable (the thanksgiving one too) without having to drive everyone around me crazy with my constant playing meant that the way they would run future events had changed. Apparently not.
I’m actually not sure how people finish this style of events. Maybe they have more than 24hrs in their days? It can’t be more neighbours as only 30 ever give anything towards events anyway. I suppose it must be having premium characters or being willing/able to spend their way through the events. But most of the event currency comes from tapping merry makers and there are just not enough of them.
I may seem a bit ungrateful but truthfully I would rather they didn’t give us “free” doughnuts and instead made the events more manageable to complete. As it is, it would require all those “free” doughnuts and then some to be able to actually fully complete this event for me. Which makes it far less rewarding to play.
I see the new crafting currency, but I don’t see any tasks to kick this thing off.
I see the line saying Lisa kicks things off, but i don’t see a task for her. (Yes she was available)

EFCOT Center seems like the only Building worth crafting during Act 2 ( it’s all about earning more Green pose and the only way you can do that is to make sure fellow Tappers stay Nice to each other when leaving presents) …
EA seems to have gotten this year’s Christmas Event half right (for this long time Tapper). I hope the 3rd Act is not a let down !
I don’t think that the snowman, gingerbread house, or Wooly Bully not earning mistletoe/holly is unfair…those were Act 1 items. My guess is that, when completed, the petting zoo will earn mistletoe/holly (as will other items that Act 2 calls for). Nor do I think having previous years’ freemium items for donuts is unfair…that’s how it usually works in this game.
What I DO think is unfair is the removal of some of the Act 1 craftables…there was no indication that would happen, and it’s never happened in other events (or at least not that I recall).
I’m very upset that you can no longer upgrade the Gingerbread House. There was no indication to us that we needed to have completed the upgrade before the end of act 1 and I think this is completely unfair to all of us who were working towards a full upgrade of the gingerbread house. Is it worth complaining to EA, because honestly they didn’t let us know we needed to upgrade in time? I’m so frustrated.

I didn’t craft the Christmas clams… but I guess I can live without them. Still pretty naught of EA!! I was also a little upset I can’t continue building my gingerbread house.. but I guess I’ll live with level 4 too XD
This annoys. Woke up this morning knowing I was going to miss the orphans because I lost two days when my tablet tried to die. Then find out I can’t finish the gingerbread house or get the igloo and ski chalet. Why would the timer say over two weeks if they were going to get rid of them for act 2?

Good morning tappers. I got up early to start act 2 and i can’t get it past collecting mistletoe from tapping merrymakers. I got Lisa to start off the act and completed tapping 10 merry makers but now nothing else is happening. Every character is available but there are no further quest lines starting. What am I missing? Thanks for always providing great info and help. I tapped my heart out for act 1 and was short for violet and patches so I bought them just before act 1 finished. I am hoping I don’t have to use sprinkles to complete acts 2 and 3!
