Springfield Showoff: Deep Space Homer

As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we find ourselves sometimes forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU. So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small. Brag about it to the world. We want you to. (That and Bunny loves to see other designs and get inspiration from it.) Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.

Showoff base

Now that Deep Space Homer is over we thought this week it would be fun to see what you’ve done with all of your Space Stuff! (especially with Wookiee’s recent space design post)  As it can always be a little intimidating and frustrating trying to figure out just where to put all this stuff…so who better to turn to than our fellow Addicts? And as always you guys came through big time!  You guys have some great designs and ideas for all the space stuff, so let’s take a look!

First up from the Addicts E-mail (TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com):

And here are the submissions from Facebook:

Here’s a look at the submissions via the comments…

A quick note before I show those, if you post a link (Especially from Flickr) make sure you select that it can be downloaded from anyone as the option.  Otherwise we can’t download it to post on the Showoff post.  Bryce Jacob Reuer Gergely was one such post.  We weren’t able to download the image, therefore I can’t add it to the showoff post.  But here’s a look at the direct link to the image: https://www.flickr.com/photos/88767056@N05/24151402723/in/shares-98rDq8/

And finally from Flickr..

And a note on this one as well…this is the last one where I’m going to pull the images directly off of Flickr.  Since I noticed a lot of you are posting your images on Flickr and then adding to the comments, which is great!  But I don’t want to double post.  So if you add your Showoff images via Flickr just be sure you add the link to the comment thread for the showoff reminder post.  🙂

  1. WOW I got a donut from the junk from the rocket!!!

  2. just wanted to acknowledge all the awesome submissions! some really creative work, especially combining different buildings together. alissa i apologize about clamoring for a showoff and not submitting one myself… just was too busy this week to get one in by wednesday.

  3. Always interesting to see how others utilize their items and space. Some really cool ideas, here, makes me wish I had more space near my oceanfront to expand.

  4. Yay!!! My favorite post is back, finally! Great job, everyone! I always love to see all of your creative ideas.

  5. Nice layouts everyone. I don’t use flikr so I couldn’t submit mine.

    Two questions
    1) How did some players get a second launch tower?
    2) I see some of the shuttle hangers have a see-through top. How do you do that?

  6. I love Springfield Show Off! More posts like these!

  7. Wow wow wow… daily mystery box is gone and we get daily challenges, with doughnuts galore!!!

  8. there was an update in the game, possibility to get free donuts 😀

  9. New content!!!

  10. THIS NEW DONUT CHALLENGE IS GREAT! I’ve never been happier with this game, only 37 donuts away from Barney now.

  11. Wow. I’d like to thank you all for making me feel so inferior. Great designs!
BTW I have a Galaxy S5. How do you get a screenshot without the icons showing up?

  12. Is homers hide task new? Never noticed it before

  13. Great towns everyone, you should all be proud of your towns!

  14. Not related, but just have to say I love your new pic with Princes Riley!

    • lol too much work for me when I’m trying to pull everything quickly 😉

      • Me too!! Let the rant commence. 😉 I hear that flickr didn’t use to be that way. Well, all I know is the now. Now they try to hide the images behind walls of HTML (DIVs and CSS trickery). It is a little easier to get the images if they are shared properly. To me they’re always difficult. I have an easier time looking at the page source and searching for the IMG tag. lol. (But I’m a nutty fellow who always prefers source over click-click-tap-menu-click-shoot.) My biggest issue isn’t even about trying to “steal” the images. It’s just about trying to view them. Flickr wants me to click, then wait, to hope that a higher resolution image will display. But it doesn’t even tell me that it’s on it’s way. And with an internet that is not from the future, sometimes the wait is in vain. I don’t see what’s so wrong with keeping things simple, letting us do as we wish. As has been demonstrated, it doesn’t even stop people, just those that can’t be bothered or that don’t know how to “hack”. 😉 If they want to get all complex as they have, providing feedback is important. Yes, this should be addressed to them (it’s not for you Alissa). But I only care because Addicts uses flickr, and therefore I am forced to also use it whenever I see something cool that someone is sharing. (Thanks for posting them directly in your page and not flickr, BTW!!) Otherwise I try and avoid the place. /rant over

      • I felt like the image that lots seemed to love was worth my effort. (It even crashed my browser at one point. flickr or the image or the “hacking”, I dunno. but it’s all better now.) I liked it a bit, too.

        • I agree, IMO it’s the best one by several lengths, not to denigrate the others, but this one just goes above and beyond with creative use of materials and the amount of thought put into it. Thanks for your effort Simp.

          • I want to judge who had the best one, but it’s easier to go with what’s popular. 😉 My town would not win. All the entries here beat me, so they’re ALL winners. No denigration should be implied if we like one over another. The only person who should feel denigrated is me. But I’m fine with that. 😛

            Thanks, elfmice.

  15. Great job everyone! 😀

  16. Mine looks really boring compared to all those….><
Oh well, oh and I played Wheres maggie finally and it crashed my game

    • “Boring” isn’t bad. My designs are usually pretty basic, compared to some of the others, but I’m still happy with it. 🙂

  17. Ellie G

Well done for capturing the pics with two launch-pads, something that can’t be recreated, I like rare pictures like that

    🚀 🚀 🌟 🏈 🙂

    • Managed to get two myself but wouldn’t have a clue how to put a picture up!! I’m just hoping the rocket carries on launching past the event. Speaking of events come on ea I was hoping for an update today this tapper is becoming very bored!! Although I am only 5k off completing this weeks rail yard tasks so that’s a positive

  18. Many thanks for showing my little design, guys! I love each and every one. Wow, great work!

benjamings84, the fortress of lonelitude looks super cool there.
JasonM, the use of the monorail station is genius!

    • Yours is awesome! Great job:)

    • Hey, New neighbor, I just wanted to say I visited your Krustyland and it was a revelation. By far the most fully realized Krustyland I’ve ever seen. Very inspiring, well-done. (I liked it).

      • Hey hey hey, I want to see the land of Krusty too! I’m friends with elfy but I need you to friend me shawtymclittle.

      • Wow! Thank you, Elfie! I was only having fun with trees and land to begin with lol thank you so much.

Shawty, I can’t seem to find you for some reason when I search for your name. Can you try adding me? pizza-high

    • Thanks so much! I thought that by using the monorail station is would make my airport tie better into the town, plus it looks like a terminal, so that helps a lot.

There are so many great ideas from this thread! I can’t wait to expand my airport out further!

      JasonM aka Shrakakoom

  19. Great work everyone 🙂

  20. Neato burrito! But how did you get 2 launch pads and rockets???

  21. I’m honored to have mine shown, thanks guys. Love some of the ideas out there. I may have to borrow (okay steal) the solar panel and news station antenna/satellite tower ideas.

  22. Tomswifter has a very nice long runway and well defended by tank and also has ambulance on standby! Nice !

  23. Jebus design is very well thought out but putting launcher in centre of water and keeping the heat away from all!

  24. I like ellieg way of using central station extension as a platform. I also like digital monitor use of magnifier on the burning launching platform!

  25. They are ALL great designs! Alot of really good inspirational ideas! I love the idea of the monorail stop!! 😉

  26. Love the show offs!

It always amazes me that we have so much diversity in creativity for the same few buildings ☆☆☆☆☆ excellent designs all
