Let’s start off with the fact that there has been plenty of “crazy” to go around here lately. And as the movie “A Beautiful Mind” taught us, there are many levels of “crazy” that border on genius. I think that one of things that attracts me most to crazy cat lady, is that she in fact borders on that line, and dares to step across it from time to time (stepping back to “normal” from crazy).
Aren’t we all just a little nuts about something in our lives? Say…oh…a digital game or something? But, I digress…
Eleanore (bet you didn’t remember she has a name) started out in life like many of us, with ambitions and dreams that are far above those of an average 8-year-old girl. According to the WIKI, “Eleanor Abernathy was a smart and ambitious young girl who wanted to be both a lawyer and a doctor “because a woman can do anything”. She was studying for law school at 16, and by 24, she had earned an MD from Harvard Medical School and a JD from Yale Law School. However, by 32, suffering from burnout, she had turned to alcohol, became obsessed with her pet cat, and would randomly take to cutting pieces of her own hair. So, right away, there is something deeper and more substantive than the average Springfieldean. There is something endearing about someone who has found a way to deal the general insanity of the world (throwing cats), and has found an outlet for her unrequited love for humanity, by absorbing herself into another obsession. No. Not a mobile app game…CATS! Makes as much sense to me as loads of other things people do to cope.
But enough amateure psychology. What you guys really want to know is, “Should I BUY the Crazy Cat Lady Bundle or Not!!! Get to it already!!!!”
OK. Let’s take a look.
CCL first showed up in our game during the Easter 2014 update. Yes. The very event that drove a good number of players CRAZY! (Remember the wHell? Remember Shary Bobbins? Remember? Remember?) She was Premium at the time, and came with the Crazy Cat House. And later, during the Clash of Clones event, we were able to earn a “Cat-apult” that uses cats as ammo. Not being a cat person, I love being able to fling cats over the wall into the High School. But, call me crazy.
The original price of CCL.House bundle was 180 donuts. You can find Alissa’s original SIB HERE.
But right here…you can see why some of us long-time players may get a little “crazy” over the new bundle pricing. We spent 180 for CCL and the house.
If you DON’T Have CCL, you can get the bundle, including the house, AND the skin, for a NET price of 110 donuts (150 spent, with a 40 donut Rebate). CCL, House, and Crazy Iguana Lady Skin…for 11o donuts. That is a GREAT Bargain, compared to the old price. But, you don’t get the swamp.
If you DO have CCL, you are only offered the Swamp/CIL (Crazy Iguana Lady) skin for 110 donuts.
Yes. This is unfair to all longtime players who already own CCL. But, let’s not start another thread on “fairness.” Life isn’t fair. Ask Eleanor.
So…What are the Details? Well…they are a bit complicated, and the rewards are not evident, UNTIL you buy the bundle…which I did.
I’m gonna break this one down by option, because I do think there is a difference.

Final Thoughts If you Already Have CCL: I bought the bundle, mostly because it was one of the few things in the update that peaked my interest. But, when I step back and look at this from a pragmatic view…unless you have donuts to burn…I’d pass. Premium players- Sure, why not. She does help you reach your Daily Monster Quota more quickly.
Freemium Players- PASS. You don’t need the skin to win.
Bundle TWO (If you don’t have CCL)
Well…this is where it gets interesting (and a little unfair for all of us long-time players). This bundle, with the rebate is a GREAT DEAL on CCL… let alone the bonus of the CIL (Crazy Iguana Lady) skin.
You don’t get the swamp. But, really…as I already said above, it’s small, and just a decoration. NOT of any real value to the bundle…so you didn’t miss much!

– You can gloat that you got a GREAT DEAL that was far less expensive than the original!

Final Thoughts on Bundle #2-
Premium Players? BUY HER. She will make you laugh for months to come…and every time you do, you can know that you got a better deal than longtime players. She will help in doing battles against the monsters, helping you to “get everything” in this update.
Freemium Players?- If you have the bonuts (because we know you only play with bonus donuts) I would STILL recommend this as a buy. She is absolutely worth it for a house/character/skin trifecta character.
FINAL FINAL HEADS UP... when I bought Bundle #1 …It also automatically elevated my MAG points to the next level, opening up Martin as another trick-or-treat kid! Pretty cool. So at least for this update, it was a win-win-win again!

I’m currently doing CCL’s regular questline. Once that’s finished I’ll deploy her CIL skin. That skin almost made me buy the pet store and Jub Jub. 🙂 I also bought a cobblestone road and one of those fancy beach hideaway things, though I’m kind of regretting that. If I didn’t I could’ve bought Luanne and took a gamble on the mystery pumpkin.

I was originally planning on saving my bonuts (Thanks to playing Where’s Maggie) for a Herb Powell/Herb’s Mansion combo. Together that would’ve cost me 320 bonuts. I mean, geesh, Herb is pricey enough as is but when I found out what a deal CCIL is that basically swung things in favor of picking her up. I’d be happier though if Herb and his mansion prices were flipped but he’s rather non-essential so I can try for him some other day.
I took advantage of the rebate and purchased CLL, but the iguana skin is not an option. What happened?

As a freemium player, I’ve had her on my short list for years (at times I get distracted by event specials). I finally got 150 donuts and I’m spending them today.
Can you do a “should we buy” on if we should buy the gingerbread house with the witch (140 doughnuts) I’m trying to choose between the CCL and the witch
If you don’t have the CCL already, then this is a great buy. If you do, it is marginal. The House/Witch isn’t one of my faves…I have her…but she only really makes sense during Halloween. CCL is crazy all year long.

My only concern on premium characters at this point of the year is Gil Black Friday offers… I’m meditating on buying CCL cool bundle or wait for the Black Friday offers which some are nice too… I’m 500% fremium player though
I already have CCL. I bought the skin and swamp a few days ago and have a bit of buyer’s remorse. I thought the swamp would be a bit bigger. I’m quite surprised (and disappointed) that it didn’t come with a bonus percentage, either.

EA has been unfair some times like with Kodos and Kang, they used to be premium for a while and then EA gave them for free during Halloween events (please correct me if I’m wrong) 2013 (Kang) and 2015 (Kodos), then on Superheroes 1 event Radioactive Man, Dr. Colosus and The Collector where part of the prices, then by Superheroes 2 event they became premium; those are examples that came to my mind, I know there are more, at the end EA takes and gives…
The way EA does things follows the trend of being rewarded for participating long term. The heroes that were ‘part of the prizes’ took time and effort to earn, and offering them a second time as prizes is no draw for long term players. Last THoH, I picked up close to 50 Wailing Walls as prizes and have enjoyed the bonus percentage they give. The year before that, as this year, they had to be purchased with donuts. Even the boxer, Tatum I believe, as well as Miss Springfield were available as prizes at one point, but now we late-commers have to pony up the sprinkles to get them. Let us be grateful for the prizes we are about to receive and less jealous of the good fortune of those who have more donuts and/or have played longer!
LOL… I also think the tradeoff, is that as you state, longtime players won a TON of THOH stuff that is now Premium, for free. Age has its rewards. I think of it as a TSTO AARP benefit.
I must have gotten both Kang and Kodos for free because there is no way I would have paid donuts for them. My only Halloween before this one was 2015.

Film maker Lisa had me send normal CCL on 12 hours of throwing cats. I then pulled the skin from inventory and Homer and Marge set up a 12 hour pending task for her to throw iguanas AND I received my MAG points at that point.
I passed on the Miss Springfield skin for 110 donuts, and I will pass on this as well. Charging outrageous amounts of donuts for a premium character skin is not a practice I support.
Ive been wanting her forever and just spend my donuts on Barney. I’ve been wanting him too. Gah! Now i only have 13 donuts. I would get her if I could no doubt. I love cats and i love crazy cat lady. Lol but i also like a good drunk like Barney! Ha. Maybe ill have enough soon but i don’t i can launch from 13 donuts to 150 in time. A girl can wish.

Thanks for the post. Crazy Cat Lady was on my list of characters I wanted to get, so I was happy to see the deal, and I bought her immediately. I was curious to know about the swamp that I had read about, and now I know why I didn’t get one. I’m OK with that. I’m assuming CCL will be a better help with the monster fights when the additional slots open up later in the event.
I picked up Suzanne the Witch this morning and set her to work earning film strips. I bought the Space Mutant last year, and he’s working right alongside Suzanne the Witch at the MAG Office. I’m hoping we will be offered Dracula Burns and Booberella, because they both have jobs at the MAG Office, too. Fingers crossed!
The swamp is truly underwhelming.

That would be correct. I got her, mostly because I wanted/needed to see what she did for this article. She is helpful in fighting monsters, but not necessary. For the most part, if you already have her, pass.
I bought her and I thought I would get the swamp. So I contacted EA and they gave me the swamp today. So it was a great deal. 🙂

You need to check your inventory…and then use the skin.

I just got the old “cannot connect to your server” notice. Hit retry to be told I have been signed out. Repeatedly entered my password and told it’s invalid. It IS my password. I’m super close to deleting this game for good. I was looking forward to this Halloween event. EA just can’t ever get it right with these even to and this turkey doesn’t justify the space the app takes up on my devices. It was a nice (not really, too many snafus and hassles) 3 years. Buh bye EA.

For long time players, this might get them a bit peeved due to the bargain newer players are getting. But, remember, as long time players there are many characters and decorations that you got by playing events that now are priced as premium that newer players never got a shot to win/earn for “free”. So I think it comes out pretty close to even when all is said and done. I am a freemium player and bought this, the deal is just too good to pass up. same as the Barney/Astronaut bundle and the most recent Frink/Robot bundle. Love the bundles, keep ’em comin’ EA!

No, that’s not normal…you should probably contact EA. (But, first, try doing a complete uninstall/reinstall, because they’ll probably tell you to do that anyway.)

Yes! I found this odd as well, especially since they removed the ability to buy Frink prior to his bundle w/LadyBot being released during Sci-Fi.
I mean, I highly doubt anyone wants the swamp so badly that they’d pay full price for CCL, then and *ADDITIONAL* 110 donuts for her Iguana skin + swamp!
Bought her straight away, because I would never be able to justify buying her in the future if I didn’t get her now for a much cheaper price and with an extra skin! 😀

One note about monster battles: the rare purple-and-yellow one can be fought by two fighters at a time, paying 210 instead of 150 film. (I only saw my first purple-and-yellow monster this morning.) And the design of the pick-a-fighter screen indicates that eventually monsters that can be fought by three or four fighters at a time will start to appear.
So, at this early stage of the event it may be (almost) pointless to have extra fighters, but eventually you will need as many as you can get. Here’s hoping some of the higher level monsters give crafting currency as the bonus… I find the current drop rate painfully slow.
THANKS…that is good info. At this point, there is little about the Monster rate that makes sense. What is supposed to happen, isn’t for many players. Still working on the “Why?”
No kidding. I thought two monsters spawned every four hours, but didn’t get them when I should have a few minutes ago (but I did have two left over from the six I found in my town this morning, so maybe that was why?).
And I have *never* seen the famous timer indicating when new monsters are supposed to appear.
This and the drop rate for crafting currency could use another patch IMO. Not to mention the issues other people are having.
You and I are in agreement. I’ve only seen the timer ONCE…and weirdly, it was when I was still waiting to finish a battle. As soon as the battle finished, the remaining minutes to the four-hour countdown showed up. Again. Once since the beginning…and BEFORE the patch. So who the hell knows? LOL!

Even though I have all available characters fighting monsters I still have the claw icon like I haven’t use all, am I the only one seeing this? it confuses me a lot since I beleive I might be able to send more characters to fight.
