What a crazy week we just had! Many of us celebrated Halloween and The Cubs won the World Series, after 108 years! How was your Halloween? Get any good candy? Did you watch the final game of the World Series?
How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? We’ve had a fairly mellow weekend as we prepare for Miss Riley’s first birthday next weekend!

Anyone else having issues with their friends and NO ONE being there? All I have anymore is “other Springfield”. I knew I was unpopular, but geez….
Try going to EA Origins home page and log in. Check your status page to see that everything is correct, then log out. Now open your game. I don’t know why this works, but it has solved “log in” and “neighbor” glitches for me several times. Hope it works for you.

We actually use quite a bit of almond milk (or, as my husband thinks it’s a more apt term, “almond juice”) around my house, because it’s half the calories of even skim milk, but I’ve never seen any brand here label it that way. Too funny!
We just can’t get into it for common use, but it’s pretty much all we use in our smoothies now.
Yeah – I still generally prefer real milk for having in my cold cereal and such, but the almond milk/juice, plush a small splash of half-and-half, works quite nicely in my coffee especially iced coffee drinks). 🙂
Oh, maybe with a mix of both I could do it. I tried it alone in coffee the other day when I was out of cream, and let’s just say….it might take some getting used to!
I’ve also discovered that not all brands are the same (and, btw, I’ve been taking only about the unsweetened, unflavored ones). You also might want to try Silk Cashew Milk, instead….the cashew milk is creamier and actually had less flavor. But, we had been getting since store-brand, shelf-stable almond milk, but, due to a sale, my husband for the refrigerated Silk almond milk, and I think that was creamier than the one we’d been getting. Bottom line…it may take a little experimenting to find which type works best for you (at a price you’re willing to pay).
I haven’t tried the cashew, but have been getting the tetra pack Silk brand.
Dairy is not my friend so I’ve been drinking almond milk for a few years now. My favorite is Almond Breeze unsweetened vanilla. I use it in my cereal every morning but never in my coffe. It does this weird thing that’s difficult to explain and I’m not into that. It’s also yummy with a pbj sandwich or as chocolate milk.
Anyone having problems tapping characters in top left of screen. My game will not respond and I have to locate people to put on jobs. Also tasks appearing from previous events at random.
Had two exams today and another two tomorrow, all on hard stuff, so my tapping has been severely limited 😭 But on the upside, I get pretty much the rest of the week off to catch back up

Well, I managed to grab the remaining premium characters, and have about 230 donuts. I’ve been spending so much of my money on this, so next week is going to be my savings week. I feel like I’m truly becoming an addict, because the thought of not buying anything else after I spend the donuts I currently have is just awful to me. What if something really good comes out? What if I don’t have enough donuts for Thanksgiving? It’s a scary thought. I probably won’t get the Zombie Sandwich or even the Cobblestone Road just out of fear that I’ll run out of donuts and miss out on a character or NPC. Anyway, I’m starting on getting Frinkenstein, and once I get him, I’l start my wind down period, getting my character questlines all done, and going through my earnings throughout the event and choosing which of my many crafting prizes go into storage for all eternity, while buying land to fit the next event’s things. Busy week. Can’t wait to get Frinkenstein though!

Why not just bookmark the page so that you never have to search for it. That’s what I’ve been doing and it makes it 100% easier.
Or you can do what I do and just keep that tab open in my browser for the length of the act. (My browser is set to reopen the tabs that were open when I last closed the browser.)
Both methods involve taking some personal responsibility for getting the info you need, rather than putting the entire burden on the site moderators.

(Actually, I wind up opening it in “Safari” and THEN I can save the image)
But then, I am rather techno illiterate – just punch and tap until I get it to work.

Wow, to all the responders. The OP is really just a comment that the mods missed adding that link. It is, after all, why they create and maintain the event page at all. It’s awesome so many people like the mods, but they really don’t need y’all jumping in to defend their honour on every little thing. Sorry if my post is a little out of keeping with the friendly Canadian persona, but this constant shaming of commenters for small things like this feels like watching someone get bullied.

I am a freemium player seeking some advice. I have about 100 bonuts. I could get Shauna, Gravedigger, Zombie Sandwich, or Booberella, but none of them really excite me. I’ve heard there are deals on Black Friday. Are these good deals or more nonsense from Ol’ Gil? Should I save my bonuts or use them while I have the chance?

Interesting dilema. First off- there is no guarantee that they will offer any Black Friday deals this year, though they probably will. Second- often these deals require that you have a certain amount of doughnuts to begin with to be able to take advantage of the deal. For instance: they might offer a particular character, building, decoration, or combo for a certain amount of doughnuts (I.e., 200 doughnuts for the volcano lair), and with the purchase you will get 30 to 40 doughnuts back. But if you don’t have the 200 doughnuts to begin with, then you will not be able to take advantage of the deal of getting 30-40 doughnuts back. I hope this makes sense. Plus- there is no guarantee that they will offer what you’re looking for. So if there is something you want to get right now, then get it. Otherwise take your chances later.

Black Friday for the last couple years has been full of rebate deals on permanent items in the store, so if there’s a character you’ve really been after it’s worth checking out the deals. The holiday event also tends to have some good stuff. So don’t waste the precious pastries you’ve saved up on something you don’t like.
Black Friday is one of those times where it’s VERY beneficial to take advantage of the Gil Deal. Instead of offering you an overpriced item that defeats the purpose of the word deal, he instead offers regular characters, that come with a nice rebate when you purchase them, so you get some of your donuts back.
Freemium only, 3-4 years now, never spent anything, money or otherwise for my Springtania.
I went Billy, even after realising what the Zombie Sandwich did afterwards. I reckon I’d still do the same.
It helps with a “set”, hard enough to achieve for Freemiums… but he’s also a money generating character, and I am hedging bets EA will allow a bit of cash for his gravesite when the event is over.
Booberella certainly excites me! 😇
I think you answered your own question when you said none of those prizes really excite you. As a freemium player, I say always go with your heart. No matter how well something helps you progress in the game, how worthwhile is it, if i you’re not enjoying it?
I hope EA fixes the glitch where certain items (Player’s Club, Homerlayas, and now seemingly the medieval gate) reset to their non-upgraded versions. It particular sucks since the gate facades were “prizes” for THOH.
First, I would like to thank my newest neighbor, Ebron, for the add and the interest in design. I enjoyed looking around your town! Sorry I haven’t visited more, my game gets very crashy with my neighbors sometimes.
Okay, so design challenge discussion for the week: random junk. There’s a lot of stuff, particularly from events, that can look very weird in a town. Sometimes, I find myself having to store some of it, but I like to keep as much out as I can. I’ve never liked the idea of pulling things out just depending on the time of year, since it might disrupt the design flow I like to have. My solution to some of the most random junk? Giant mini golf course!

Some of it also ends up in the film studio lot, which I find myself wishing I had room to expand sometimes. (Already expanded it once, not sure what to move out of the area next.)
Anyone else found a design they like with random junk? Anyone have a particular bit of junk that just seems doomed to storage? (Mine is Homer Kong on the building, which at least doesn’t have a payout or bonus on it.) Also, is there anything random-ish you wish we had? I would personally like a gong.
Mini golf course is brilliant!
I too, have a film studio lot with odds and ends ready to be used to make a movie. I also have a “park” where smallish random Stand Alone items (that don’t move around on their own) go so Springfielders can enjoy with the family on a Sunday afternoon. The couch is an idea of what goes in there.
I like your mini golf idea – mine is being worked into my childhood memory amusement park with rides, shows and of course, souvenir shacks.
My Springfield is definitely a work in progress as I have buildings grouped together in the middle of nowhere that make no sense waiting for the perfect “aha” moment. I know I’ll want to use these and if I store them I’ll probably never find them again.

I use my golf course to work in random items as well. I got the idea a while back from one of dapimps designs and had to put my own spin on it. What I ended up doing with it, which I thought was pretty successful, was turned it into a holiday themed mini golf course. Making each hole it’s own perspective holiday. I also use frinks laboratory as a dumping ground for any gadgets we get. Its getting quite large lol.
I have a Frink Section also, great place for tech toys and alien stufff. My mini golf course is where Equalia Castle ended up as well as all the Elf stufff…just put a hedge around it all and call it a day.
I have a junk yard behind my recycling buildings so it looks like they are recycling all the junk.

Your town is good fun! So nice to just cruise around and enjoy the scenery. Don’t worry about visits, I get the crashes when people visit while I am visiting, so I understand. It can be really frustrating to get thru a full set of neighbors. Anywho…thanks for inviting me in.
Hi everybody…. hold on that’s someone else’s catchphrase…..
Enjoying this update, after a bad start (beach huts and Xp levels, which to give ea credit they fixed pretty quickly) the update has been fairly pleasant, don’t feel too pressured to have to keep logging on silly amounts and usually comfortably ahead of calendar (even on my b game). My only small gripe is that the story line has been a little short and weak but I am being picky!
I hope we get a mini thanksgiving event and pigglys and mrs bouvier are available. Also on my wish list (we know ea read this site) is a big Black Friday sale and the skins for the tap ball stadium and stonecutters lodge are on a biiiig discount (ok I will settle for available! ).
I hope they do something a little different for Christmas rather than the normal 3 act event, perhaps an advent calendar with different tasks / mini events each day. I am also looking forward to getting lots of the Christmas house decorations / skins this year.
Finally, and I know this is a political free zone but I implore All Americans to vote Kang, I just don’t trust Kodos!!! 😀👽🇺🇸
I love the idea of an advent calendar as a new spin on an event, great Idea! But Kang is clearly an AINO, I’d stick with Kodos 😉😃
Everyone else is being positive…and I have a mild gripe. I’m griping about players who ask to be on my neighbor list, and then never visit my town. I have the same thing happening with folks I have added from the find neighbors list here as well. It gets a little annoying to have people on my neighbors list who rarely to never visit my town, or suddenly stop playing…especially in the middle of an event. I now keep a few extra people on my list so I can drop the non-visiting/non-playing ones. (I keep my list to roughly 35 so it doesn’t become some huge chore to visit everyone every day.)
I am wondering though, am I expecting too much…especially during events? Here and there, I’ve missed a day visiting my neighbors outside of events, but never during an event. I don’t mind if someone misses visiting my town for a day or two, even during an event. But after 4-5 days, especially when I can see they are playing, am I being too harsh by removing them?
I have a similiar problem. Some of my friends don’t visit regularly. I’m beginning to wonder if they are unable to get into my town. Sometimes when I try to visit my neighbors my game crashes. Why does that happen? Is it because we are both play at the same time?
I play numerous times a day and have the problem day or night with some neighbors. Has anyone else had this problem.

I think that’s a bit harsh, but it’s your game and you should play how you want.
Some people (like me) have a lot of neighbors. Some people (like me) tend to have crashing when they visit a few neighbors. And some people (like me) don’t really need to visit neighbors to achieve event prizes. And while I appreciate getting visits, they aren’t all that necessary either. So, people like me don’t tend to visit much, so I understand when someone doesn’t visit me much.
But that’s me and my game. Play your game however makes you happiest. If you need visits, cultivate that. If you enjoy creative design, cultivate that. If you like graffiti, cultivate that and if you dislike graffiti cultivate that. There are plenty of players for everyone to have the neighbor list that works best for them.
To be honest, I feel confused about the whole visiting neighbors thing. When we had those friendship prizes, i was constantly visiting. But now, I mostly visit regularly during events. But because I have the full roster of neighbors, I can go usually every 2 days. I feel bad for not visiting more, but at the same time it doesn’t make much sense outside of events. The bonuts are rare 🙁
I suppose the solution would be more friendship prizes…
I only ditch players if I see they have not played for a while. During an event that’s easy to spot because their event currency stays low or at zero. Through natural selection over the years I now have a hundred friends who are all regular committed players.
I wouldn’t ditch someone for not visiting me as I do understand that visiting can be very time consuming especially when you have a hundred friends.
Well I don’t visit all of my neighbours. I like to have my 100 full of active neighbours. I like if they visit me, but I don’t expect them.
On day I feel like it and have the time I go through all neighbours. On other days (most of them) I just do the first 30 or so. That’s the amount you have in total. I try to get all of my neighbours: one day i’ll go from a-z. They next day from z-a. But the ones in the middle: the Ks, Ms, … they aren’t that lucky. Sometime I feel sorry for them, that they don’t get visited that often, just because of their name.

Going to play D & D for the first time tomorrow. Does anyone else play? The DM helped me setup my character yesterday. Those who play, any suggestions for a newbie?
Oh man I’m so envious I haven’t played P&P D&D in so long we used to stay up for days rolling dice when I was younger man brings back memories.
Just relax and have fun. The experienced players should help you with gameplay. If you have a good DM you will enjoy the narrative. Best thing for new toons is to try and be supportive of the other characters, you’ll learn a lot by following their lead. And if you don’t like the character you started don’t hesitate to roll a new one.
Most importantly, if you have a copy of the players handbook, read it from cover to cover. Borrow one if you don’t have one yet.

Yesterday a couple of my neighbors already had over 70,000 megaphones and I only had about 45,000. I play everyday multiple times a day. How do they get the elevated score in just a few days. Act 3 just started on Tuesday and by Saturday they had already earned all 7 Act 3 prizes! What’s the secret?

It’s really not that hard if you have all the premium earners…I’m over 60K already and should have the last prize tonight or tomorrow morning.
And I’m typically resetting my collectors 4 times in a day – if someone was really obsessed with the 4 hours cycles, it would go even faster.
Or they used donuts as the others have said 🙂
If they have all the trick or treaters (14), and all four MAG trainers, and play a minimum of 4 ( sometimes 5) times a day, and have the Hellementary School (200 per 20 hrs), and visit all their neighbors everyday (450 per day) …it adds up quick.
There are plenty of days left to get megaphones, so as Patrick says…”chillax”. I tend to overdue it so that bonuts are in my future, but that is just me. I recently just stopped looking at other neighbors scores because it was making me feel too competitive…it’s supposed to be fun, not a race.
It’s cold outside so I’m enjoying a nice cup of tea. I am nearly a day ahead of schedule on Patric’s calendar so it looks like I’ll get all the prizes for three acts in a row.

Well, hello all!
I am truly an addict, and having played ~25 months, I now have ~150+ characters. And I just got the Mad Doctors Castle, and earned another Quick Thoughts bonus which allowed me another iTunes card.
Booberella doesn’t really excite me, Zombie dumpster doesn’t either.
Waiting for Gil’s Fire Sale.
(p.s. I broke down and spent 12 donuts for a NPC Zombie. But 35 for Disco Zombie!? Nope)

Yep, started just before Halloween 2016, probably Level 10 or so. Didn’t get many prizes, but it intrigued me – I like puzzles – what the heck, how the heck, why the heck……. Aha!
No zombie sandwich for me either…got just about everything else, but am not a Zombie fan. I know, I know…just sayin…
I know I should advertise other apps but I’m about to attempt to form a Brain Storm Squad there (or BS Squad for short), one step closer to taking over the world (are you thinking what I’m thinking Pinky?)

I watched Fantastic Four 2015 alone as many reviewers ranked it the worst movie ever. For me, it still seemed like a must watch judging from the trailer. Overall, I am quite entertained and the only con for me was that it was too short and there was not enough time to showcase the team. The slow build up was interesting for me, it is afterall an origin movie. Hence I don’t think it deserved the bashing from the reviews. It is definitely better than Ghostbusters.
I also binged watched Luke Cage over three nights. Looking forward to Iron Fist.
With my lady Friend, we watched Gone Girl. She thanked me for introducing her to a good show.
Your rankers sound uneducated, introduce them to Ed Wood films (not the film “Ed Wood” because that is actually good), Spice World and the movie Batman Forever -lol.
Also no offence to Wookie but also Episode 1, 2, 3 of the Star Wars series -lol (Jar Jar Binks will fix them right up)
I took Ghostbusters (2016) on its own merits and, while not great, I found it enjoyable enough and I think they could do an improved sequel.
Couldn’t get my game to open this morning. Had to uninstall and reinstall. Just in case anyone else experienced this.

Hi Ella…I’m not sure which page the comments were on, sorry. I can give you the gist, tho.
1. You need a Flickr or Imgur account.
2. Upload the picture…they have instructions for this on each site, it’s really easy.
3. Open a second browser window and go to the TSTO Addicts page where you want to leave a comment and picture.
4. Start your comment, then go to the other browser page…I use Imgur.
5. Highlight the http: address at the top of the page. For windows on a pc, use the control c option to copy. For Apple products, tap a couple times on the address to get the “copy” choice to show up, then choose it.
6. Go back to your comment and hit return to get a new line…you can skip a couple lines if you want to leave a space between your comments and the picture.
7. For PCs, hit control v to place the address. For Apple, tap a couple times on the empty line to get the “paste” option and choose it.
8. You can continue to comment on the next line if you want to, or just hit Submit to end your post.
If I got anything wrong, please anybody add to this…hope it helps.

Was raining today so little gardening happened. Instead I spent my day up to my elbows in cement trying to make a complicated pot! Not sure it will work so describing it as a ‘prototype’ in case it falls apart! If it works I’ll post a pic next week. If it doesn’t, then what pot are you talking about? Thanks to the cement my fingers look like I’m 110 years old (despite rubber gloves!) so in the bath making it even worse!

I’ve been making hypertupha pots for a while now but they are usually very basic and simple. In July I got more daring and made two side table tops (with a built in pot for a succulent). But this is the most complicated thing I’ve attempted with hypertupha. But if it doesn’t work I will have learnt something and will keep working at it until I get it right!
There are loads of people who are way more creative with this sort of thing than I am, but there is something very satisfying about planting something in a pot you have made, no matter how simple the pot…

I googled hypertupha pots (spelled hypertufa in the US) and they are really cool looking….like ancient stone. Could you please post a picture when you are done?

I just found my ipod after having lost it during the wild west event and can’t wait to get back into a new event, since I missed thoh (mostly) I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts were on a possible thanksgiving mini-event. I’ve already got lisa, Flanders, and homer all dressed up, and I’m excited to see if it happens.
I think it’ll be a guarantee. If I remember correctly, recently something was updated in the files during one of the Halloween updates, putting Flanders and Lisa’a costumes in a Thanksgiving Costume Bundle, which might have been for the next event, Thanksgiving. That might mean it will happen, but don’t take my word for it actually being involved. Things change or get misread. But we’ve also gotten a Thanksgiving event every year, so I think it’s a big probability. 🙂
I’m sure there will be an event. I’m hoping for the turkey NPC to come back.
RYAN- I never use Flander’s 4 hr job. Too nasty, tho I do enjoy his 10hr one with Lisa. I’d like to have the turkey on offer this TG….💜X
