It’s finally Turkey Day here in the US! And you know what that means…Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Apple and Pumpkin pie, football, stretchy pants and insane sales at the mall!

Previous Posts: So, when these were first released they were free as part of the Thanksgiving questlines. Sacagawea Lisa in 2013 and Puritan Flanders in 2014. So previous posts would just refer to their questlines as they pertained to the event and how you unlock them.
My Opinion on them Now: 65 donuts for two premium skins for regular characters isn’t a bad price, IF you don’t already have premium skins for them. Otherwise I’d pass on these two. I almost always forget I have them
King Size Homer Bundle: King-Sized Homer & Work from Home Station
Donut Price: 110 Donuts Combined, or 60 Donuts Each
What Do They Do?: King-Size Homer is now a Premium Skin for Homer, with some hilarious animated tasks. The Work From Home Station is a decoration that King-Sized Homer will use, however it does not offer a bonus % or earn a payout.

My Opinion On Them Now: King Size Homer was free last year, he was a Thanksgiving Prize, so it’s frustrating that he’s now premium. I do enjoy this skin and the Work from Home Station, but I think they’re a bit over priced in this combo for what it is/does. So unless you’ve really been wanting King Size Homer, I’d pass on this combo.
Thanksgiving Balloon Bundle: Bart Balloon, Snowball II Balloon, Stampy Ballon & the Grumple Balloon
Donut Price: 80 Donuts
What Do They Do?: Fun Decorations for Springfield. Each earns a bonus %, Snowball II- .50% bonus on all cash and XP; The Grumple- 2% bonus on all cash and XP; Stampy- 2% bonus on all cash and XP; Bart- 2% bonus on all cash and XP. So in the end, 6.5% bonus for 80 Donuts. GREAT donut to bonus % ratio.

My Opinion On Them Now: I’ve always liked the balloons, they make great decorations at various places in Springfield..and they just remind me of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This is a GREAT price for a 6.5% bonus return…I’d pick them up. And you can purchase multiples.

That are a too good to pass up But with the recent Casino Event AND the Casino that you can get with Johnny Tightlips it does bump it down. So if you already have a bunch of casinos..pass.

My Opinion On It Now: I couldn’t imagine Springfield without Mrs. Bouvier. So I like this combo…and her tasks are pretty amusing. And that price, with the rebate, it becomes less than 100 donuts for a premium character/building combo. Grab it!

What Does It Do: Animated decoration, that Puritan Flanders (from image above) has a task at. Also earns a 2.5% bonus on all cash and XP.

I actually feel the opposite about the casino. The fact that we now have so many casinos made this a must buy for me. It makes my gambling part of Springfield look better.
Although we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, I am thankful that once upon a time I was trying to find neighbours and not only did I find them but I also found this place – and I’ve never left 😄

I snapped up the two character combos immediately…great deals! I was a little disappointed that the game made me place both of them right away…last year, when I got some character combos, I was able to put them straight into inventory and take them out individually, whenever I wanted something to do. I hope it will work that way for the black Friday deals.
I didn’t realize that the balloon group offered such a good bonus multiplier…the problem is, I don’t want to display them. Does anyone know if they’re hideable behind buildings?

Actually, I was able to hide them behind some Springfield Heights buildings. But then I ended up taking Snowball out of there because, when I got the animal shelter this morning, I decided to flank it with a Santa’s Little Helper balloon on one side and the Snowball one in the other (to represent genetic dogs and cats).
I had to buy the Springfield falls to get a chance to buy the Casino. Then had to buy the Casino to get the Smorg. After buying the Smorg, the Casino sign became available, which I think is a good buy for 2%. BTW, for those complaining about rebates: just remember you have been earning a percentage or cash/xp all this time (which can be converted into donuts).

I had everything with a timer showing 22 hours remaining. It was late so I thought I will pick up the things I want in the morning. Morning rolls round, only the balloons are available (with 9 hours remaining) and now I’m sad. I’ve been waiting for ages for Mrs Bouvier 😪 Visit to Krustyland and reboot didn’t help.
Doh! I was looking under the premium tab and it never occurred to me there was a thanksgiving tab. Mrs Bouvier purchased 👍 Strangely now all the thanksgiving items are showing in the main buy section again.

One thing I would like EA to do is make the first task on premium characters a visible one. Give us a taste of what we paid good donuts for. Instead the first task is 12 hours and not visible.

I’ve never done one, myself, but I’ve definitely enjoyed the ones others have put together. Haven’t noticed any in any of my friendvilles yet, but I have gone visiting today yet (and only did half my neighbours yesterday…I was looking around for a couple of specific items, so even just half my neighbours took a long time to get through).
Should I check for one in your town tonight? It’s one of the towns I should definitely get to today! 🙂

I got/placed the cornucopia Wednesday night and I don’t have any of these offers either, in fact nothing in the game that goes to thanksgiving 2016 or Black Friday deals. I even looked for an update and found nothing. I don’t know what to do. I do want to thank you guys for all that you do to keep me informed. Have a great holiday all.

I put my third one behind a tall building. I really wanted that NPC Turkey but looks like EA has dashed my hopes again on him.
Yeah, I was about to do that. Right now I just have all three surrounding the table that came with the questline a few years back.

I did! I found them. They weren’t under the character menu, they’re only in the Thanksgiving menu.
Oh some really fun items. I have them all so means nothing to me but for those that don’t kudos.
As far as Thanksgiving, I won’t eat a bite all day. I can’t while our brothers and sisters in North Dakota feast on tear gas, rubber bullets and washing it down with a facefull of -5°C water.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🙂 Thanksgiving was always my favorite holiday but since moving out of the US we celebrate it less and less which I think is a shame; the spirit of the day isn’t something that should fall to the wayside. Maybe next year I’ll do the whole big dinner for family (but will have to do it on the weekend since everyone’s working on Thanksgiving itself 😉
I ate an embarrassing amount of chicken pita with garlic sauce and fries last night, so we’ll be skipping the feast today…I am making Japanese style fried chicken and rice, but normal portions and no dessert.
Planning to watch It’s A Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street, as is tradition. And probably new Gilmore Girls over the weekend 🙂

It’s a great movie and one of the few where I didn’t mind the newer version, though the original has a special place in my heart 🙂 I moved to Belgium 10 years ago when I got married – I would say I love it about 90% of the time and think it’s the best thing I ever did. The other 10% is mostly frustration with little things, not regret. I didn’t think of it as brave at the time, but in retrospect it did take some guts (I am not a gutsy person in general). I hope you find a place where you are happy and have no wish to leave! Where are you from originally?
Im originally from Trinidad and Tobago. Dutch is spoken in Belgium rt? Id move back to the islands, God’s willing.
The Northern part of Belgium is called Vlaanderen (Flanders) their language is called Vlaams (Flemish). We Dutch can understand this very well. When visiting Flanders (not Homer’s neighbor), I speak Dutch. There are a lot of similarities, but also a lot of differences.
Nice! I have always been fascinated by languages. I can write and understand spanish and french. Im somewhat learning Haitian Kreole. Hopefully one day i can travel elsewhere…
Yes, Dutch in the north (where I am) and French in the south 🙂 But pretty much everyone under 60 or so speaks English and is eager to speak it either to practice or be kind…they mean well but it made learning Dutch much harder! I hope you can move back someday, don’t give up hope and I wish you all the best 🙂

Lol I bought 30 of each, even though I had 10 of each still in storage from previous years and I have heaps scattered throughout my town. I always stock up on limited-time items for future design ideas that may or may not eventuate
I have stocked up my inventory with all kind of rocks from the Western event for that occasion. Being a Rock&Roll fan, I might roll out those rocks, to prevent them from gathering moss.

In this case, it looks like a mistake on EA’s side – there was a comment on their forums that although it was in the files, it didn’t get ‘flagged’ to show up in the sale. I’m certain I never had it (or the associated Flanders task) and it never showed up in my store either.
