The snow is falling in Springfield and that can only mean it’s Winter time in our pocket sized towns! And of course it wouldn’t be an event in Springfield without premium items in our stores, just tempting us to spend sprinkles on them!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Wiccans to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Wiccan Trio to your Springfield…
Characters: The Wiccans
Donut Price: 110 Dounts
What Are They: Full character(s), with tasks. 3 characters act as 1, like Sherri and Teri.
Leaves Stores when the Event Ends
Pros
-Help earn Chicken Fingers and Books for Act 2
-Comes with a full questline
-Earn at a premium rate. They’re supposed to earn at 150% of regular characters, BUT at the moment they do not. They only earn at a standard premium rate. (hint, hint for EA to fix it…)
-Fun outdoor tasks
Cons
-Over priced for just a character (even if it is 3 in one)
-Can’t earn Chicken Fingers and Books at the same time, you’ll have to choose which one you’ll need to earn at that time
Final Thought
Premium
So this is really the only new premium character offered for this event. So if you’ve been saving up for characters, this isn’t a terrible pickup. Especially if EA corrects the payout issue. However, it’s still a meh character(s) in my mind. So if you’re not completely sold…pass.
Freemium
Freemium players I’d pass on this one. I know there are a bunch of you who save donuts just for characters..but this one is really meh in my opinion. And they’re not needed to complete the event. So personally, I’d save my freemium donuts for better characters on the horizon…
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player, I’ll likely pass. Doesn’t really do anything for me. Just remember these are limited-time, so if you’re thinking about grabbing them make sure you do before it leaves our game on December 30th.

Instant buy for me, love the pagan theme and the “We’re Wiccan’s” voice. So far this has been my favourite christmas event.
Is anyone not having an other new tasks show up since the winter event? I’ve hit level 46 & 47 and I haven’t had the corresponding buildings open up as options to buy or any new dialogue from the characters. I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to be able to get Nelson’s mom at this point but nothing.
She came as a Premium character…not sure when/how she would show up in your game at this point.
I’m pretty sure I got her along with the strip club. I don’t remember having to use donuts for her, though. Unless she was on a deep discount? This would have probably been within the past few months.
Check your task book and make sure all older level tasks are done. Also be aware that Krustyland is part of level 43 and must be completed.
They still haven’t corrected the payout for premium Santa Homer yet to my knowledge. I haven’t used him since last year, so perhaps they did.
Disappointed. Based on the in-game image, I thought they were Harry Potter rip-offs.
I was excited to pick these characters because they are the first 3-in-1 to come to the game, but I was waiting for this SIB as always. I think I’m going to pass, just because of that payout.
Also, The Wiccans use the Cauldron (Witch Marge’s cauldron)?
I was watching this episode last night! I like these characters but 110 is kinda steep. MAYBE if they change the payout and I don’t pick up anything else I’ll get them.
I got them straight away as I prefer to spend donuts on limited time characters or ones with rebates; no regrets and they’ll certainly be a good buy once their payouts are fixed. If you follow the quest line, you don’t see much of them for the first couple of days!
I’m holding off on the questline until after the event….need those Wiccans making books at the library (and maybe the occasional chicken finger).

I have saved 190 donuts for characters but its a miss on this one, thinking on moleman and rich Texan or jasper or prof frink with building, unless there’s any deals coming soon, would like to see father Sean return on his bike, decisions
I’m passing on this one but I got White Witch Burns since he fit my budget and has a bench task. I have a lot of parks and I need people who can hang out there. I am enjoying Pagan Willie! This has been a fun low-key event. I’m looking forward to winning the Christmas tree and crafting more mushrooms.
I did buy them worst desicion of my life they are crap they say about two things the visual tasks are not at all entertaining and the payout issue

Act II had quite a few technical bumps and potholes from the get-go, and I’m kinda thinking that the low payout here, despite the advertised 350%, is one of them. If someone really cares about earnings and wants to take a gamble, I think there’s a chance that they’ll get patched some time soon to bump them up to where they should be. If they did, they’d be a bargain: Bigger payoff than S&T, for a lower price.

Yes, but so far I’ve only heard them say one line and I think make an additional sound off some kind. But I’ve also only had them for a few hours and they’ve spent most of their time at the library.
They do seem to be a very studious lot…mine are almost always in the Library. I have noticed, tho, that they seem to have an almost unnatural attraction to chicken fingers…
Bought because they were Wiccans! Just my thing. I also saw them advertised at 350%, and that was a must buy percentage to me.
Not thrilled they are not coming in at even 150%, but hopefully EA will fix this issue.
Regardless, I really like three characters, cute team!
King winter is better for the same donut price
I already have pretty much all the returning items, so I went ahead and picked these up. They’re fun and I like them a lot! I am still missing several regular characters, but they’ll always be around. There isn’t a lot of new offerings this event, so I figure I can spare the donuts pretty easily.

if EA follows the same rule of “Sherri and Teri” payout:
-Normal char: 100%
-Premium char:100 + 50% = 150% – premium rate
-Sherri & Teri: (100 + 50%) + 50% = 200% (premium rate + another 50%)
-Wiccans should be: (100% + 50%) +50% + 50% = 250%
(premim rate + another 50% per extra char)
250%, not 350% as they advertise.
Was thinking about that. The Springfield Henge seems to be demanding either just chicken fingers from me now or a mix where chicken fingers outweigh the books. (A similar thing happened to me in Act 1, where the demand for carvings would outpace the demand for catnip.) So, choosing one of the jobs for them most likely won’t be an issue for me.
But I was wondering whether completing a character/skin set (and they would be the ones to complete the set, presuming that I get through the rest of the act and get all skins) gives you any bonus aside from having a complete set. I didn’t really pay attention to it when Simpsons set was complete, but am now wondering. ‘Cause if some donuts are recouped on completion, the price of Wiccans would be lower, especially if I get to some bonuts, as I seem to be a bit ahead of the tentative schedule.
Completing a set gives you money and xp. Sadly, no donuts…

I bought these because I thought that three premium characters at 37 donuts EAch was a good dEAl. Hopefully EA will sort it out so that is what we get. That would be the equivalent of nine premium skins for 110 donuts.

Studio they’re not paying out 350%? (It sounds like you’re saying they’re not even paying out 150%, which contradicts what their own wording says, which makes this offering somewhat fraudulent, although I have to believe that it’s not an intentional fraud.)
But I’m happy to see that their two outdoor tasks are both time-frames that I use, so I think I’ll be picking this up and hope that they fix the payout issue with the next update. 🙂
