So Act 1 is now over and Act 2 is underway in Springfield. For those looking for information about Act 2 you can check out this post from earlier this morning. Right now, even though we’re in the midst of Act 2 I want to take a minute to talk about Act 1.
I’m seeing a lot of reports from players (regular players here, who never have trouble) saying they missed out on getting the last prize (or even the second to last prize) or it was really tight for them. It’s more than we usually see after an event. In fact I don’t know that I’ve see this many complaints since 2014.
Sure, we always have a few complaints here and there, but usually they’re from players who didn’t log in frequently (and we all know events take multiple log ins every 4hrs to complete). This time I’m seeing complaints from players who logged in every 4hrs, 4-5 times/day, did as they were supposed to and still fell short, or nearly fell short. Complaints from players who never have issues during events, yet with this particular event…they struggled.
Personally, Act 1 was like any other event for me. I didn’t even log in regularly some times and still managed to finish before the weekend. So I’m a little perplexed that so many of you struggled. Sure, I have a bunch of premium characters, but I skipped neighbor visits (sorry neighbors, I just ran out of time each day) and often only logged in 3 times/day sometimes only 1 or 2. So I’m seriously scratching my head over how so many of you (who regularly have no issues) struggled.
So I want to take a minute to see exactly what happened. What went wrong. Was it you. Or was it the game. So if you fell short, or nearly fell short, please take a minute to answer the questions below in the comment section, so that we can all take a look and see what happened, and determine if we can offer any advice so you don’t fall short on Act 2.

Started in earnest the Saturday of the first week,after getting back from holiday. My A town got Bont this past Sunday while my B (rubykinsdog) and my C towns got Bont yesterday. I played 3/4 times a day. My C town is actually my daughters’ which I adopted and she only has about 8 friends,half of who don’t play,so I’m amazed that I finished act 1 in her town! I’ve picked up two new friends,who requested me on my B town just from posting to the addicts site! Thanks guys! 😁
I’m wondering, for the people missing Intel men, if the did the drone scan before the Intel men?
One had to clear the Intel men before drone scan. If the drone scan was done first, all the intel men went into hiding. I did MIT, then Intel men and then drone scan.
I missed Bont by an hour or two. My drone scan is unreliable: sometimes it will spend 10 seconds over land/buildings with no agents and other times I’ll tap 10 super agents and 3 regular agents (OK, that only happened once…)

I log on 4 times a day, but if I didn’t have 3 premium characters earning Intel, I never would have earned James Bont, which I just got yesterday morning.

-Did you play the Drone Scan game every 4hrs? What was your average score like? Everytime I cleared the HQ. 30+ agents, 3-5 super agents.
-Did you start the event late? Was traveling the first week of the event and only able to check 1-2 times per day max.

-Did you unlock all of the prizes? Last minute? Missed out? (which ones did you miss?) Barely got Dentz before Act 1 ended.
Long time freemium player but recently spent money to get the donut lot prizes up to the impound lot. So I had a stash of donuts and didn’t mind picking up a bunch of the Premium chars I didn’t have but anyways wanted. Probably would have just gotten Bont if I had been around for the start. Ready for some bonuts in Act 2.
I’m a casual 3x a day player, so I’m not really surprised I missed Bont (by a lot). Not a character I really care about, so I didn’t push it. It is a big change from other recent events though – usually I can finish with time to spare, playing exactly this same way. I figured they were trying to crank up the difficulty to reward people who spend more time/$$ than I do, but it seems like those folks had problems too.
I played my main game 4 times a day. My B game only 3 times a day. I was able to get all the prizes in my Main game and one round of bonuts. My B game – missed the last two prizes. My Main game has the daily challenges though. My B game does not. I haven’t placed the Big Box in that game so I can still get the mystery box every 5 days. My B game is only to help me with my Main game.
How does your B game help with your A game? I’ve often wondered why people have multiple active games going, but didn’t realize there’s a way for one game to help another?
In the early days my A game had a flaw, so while EA was trying to fix it (over a month), I started my B game. Donuts were hard to come by then, and prizes were random. So having more then one game allowed one to experience a broader range of TSTO. Then some events required co-operation with your neighbors, so having another game you could depend on also helped, which is why a started my C game. It also allows you to have different designs to experiment with, or concentrate on, since land is limited.
I for one did not cone close to earning the last prize. But I started at least a day late and have a job where I can’t get no internet and phone use is discouraged.

I started a day and half behind. I managed to get Bont and 1 round of Bonuts on the last day. I bought Scorpio on the first day I started and only had gabbo as a premium. I will say this, EA is sure trying to pummel players into submission to spend money to buy donuts. In order to get Bont, I had to play 4 times a day (hq Intel and scan game) and on the 1st weekend I played 5x a day. Also, I don’t do any neighbor visits because I never figured out how to add people and also I find the time commitment to visit neighbors too much.
When I first started playing 3 years I never finished to the end of Acts. I actually only started making it through Acts when EA started doing the daily challenges (where you can win donuts) with the monorail weekly 5 donut bonus challenge. Those accumulated donuts allowed me to buy ONE character at the start of the Act to finish the Act. I didn’t buy a character every time because I am freemium and I run out of donuts every once in a while.
I will say this, EA is making it real hard to finish any Act unless you buy a premium character. If I hadn’t bought Scorpio I would have been short to get Bont. I think EA needs to rethink there their prize track for Acts. Its getting real hard to get through Acts if we have to play 4 x a day and maybe buy a premium character

Had set alarms, but didn’t have time to log in more than once or twice over the weekend. Also NEVER interrupted sleep to play

Pressed the ‘x’ on the daily tasks because I want donuts, but half the time didn’t get much of a choice
I found that the ‘tapping men in tan’ game wasn’t a big producer.
I don’t see how anyone could say they did everything I did, and not get the final prize. I practically didn’t even play for 2 days and still got it
For what it’s worth, I had no problems though I had far fewer bonuts.
My poor wife, though, did not get Bont. She purchased the Scorpio Bundle (bout time… It is my namesake), and she had 2 other premiums. She was able to do every 4 hours at least 3 times a day and sometimes 4. She was FAR better at the drone scans than I and usually netted about 500 per session. She religiously visited her friends. She took her Daily Challenges as they came (unless it was for pharmaceuticals) and she started half a day late, as she often does. She finished the event by getting DENTZ. This has only happened when she is unable to play; that was not the case for this event.
She is the lovely MRS.SCORPIOS and she has been disappointed; something I loathe. She would never complain because she is wonderful. Please accept my complaint on her behalf.

Completed the event with 2-3 days to spare and got 3 lots of bonuts.
Play 4 times a day and completed all tasks each time, and completed all daily challenges. Didn’t visit neighbours as the return isn’t really worth the effort. KEM farming has meant that I have been able to buy many of the premium characters that came with the event. That is what I attribute to my success. Having the extra premium characters to collect intel makes a big difference. Without them I think I would have struggled.
Similar to others, I log in pretty much every 4 hours ( as try to KEM farm when I can, so fits the schedule) but I missed out for the first time in many years on last prize. I missed about 3 days ( when I say missed, I mean logged in twice a day) due to holiday season, but this one felt like a grind. Hoping act 2 is a little more forgiving, have blown most of my sprinkle stash to assist!

-Did you play the Drone Scan game every 4hrs? What was your average score like? Yes, with issues. At first I’d get over 40 agents and then half way thru, or not even, I started getting just over 30. Consistently hovered over spots where there was no land and so no agents either, tried moving bldg, didn’t work. Lots of spots simply had nothing to tap as well with no reason.

Why is he so coveted? Just another boring character in my mind. Then at the onset of the agent event, drederik Tatum came at a good discount!!! So sad I’d spent my donuts on boring duffman cause I’d been waiting for a deal on Tatum for over a year. Had to spend mad cash on scratchers to earn enough donuts to get him as I wasn’t going to miss out again. And then my goal was to save for Scorpio as his deal is great too and we have about 30 days… but then had to shell 25 donuts for bont even tho I grinded and can usually get to bonuts smh…

I guess not. I did not craft the 10 items as I thought it was suggested to wait to craft items. Guess I’ll be doing that today.

Visited as many as I could. Game crashes when moving to the next neighbor. Half of my neighbors don’t seem to collect their buildings.

A few for intel. Skipped no challenges.

Played every time I logged in. 22-30 agents, maybe 300 intel and 3 schematics average.

Started when update was available to Download which was a day and a half after update was listed on here as being available.

No. no Bont and was about 2000 away from Dentz. Could have purchased for 25 donuts. After purchasing Scorpio and Duffman, donuts are down to 125. Still farming. Slowly.

I had 3 premium characters I believe. Missed the first two days of the event and was behind the entire time. I checked it at least 3, usually 4 times a day and did some neighbor visits and ended up having to use 55 donuts to get the last prize (wasn’t going to miss out) I do feel had I started on time I’d have been fine, almost have the first prize today already.
Honestly, it didn’t feel different than any other event, to the contrary, it felt easier than others. Maybe because I own many helpful premium characters

Yep it’s those premium characters that make all the difference. If you do the math each one makes a big difference over the length of the task.

Missed the last one even though i usually win every prize. That’s probably because i didn’t have any of the premium characters

I though about buying bont but 255 donuts away was TOO much so..
I was almost 1000 short about 20 minutes to the end of act 1. I played every 2 hours when I wasn’t at work or sleeping. Every 4 hours during my workday. Had 9 characters at headquarters unless someone was completing tasks for tracks. My average for the drone scan was 35-40. Secret agents varied. I ended up spending 15 donuts for the last guy. Never had a problem finishing a day ahead of time but this time was different. Don’t know why.

~ I had a problem getting Intel from my neighbors I would get it on the first 5 or so and then it would only give me cash and xp points and no Intel not sure if that’s how it was ment to work but it definitely would have made a difference in the last 50 points I was trying for~

I usually do collection events with whatever premium characters I already have(freemium player, don’t normally buy the temp premiums), neighbor visits every 2 to 3 days, and collecting from my town 3 times a day. That’s how I started this event, and if I hadn’t changed drastically with a full 5 days to go, I would’ve missed the last prize and possibly the second to last prize.
I had to grab several premium characters to finish, plus upping my times to collect each day from 3 to 4-5 a day, and I just did manage to finish the prize track on the final day with only 5 hours to spare. I got Duffman, the three nerds, Cargill, and Scorpio. Admittedly I did want them all, but I normally buy maybe 1 character per event, never 4 (7 technically).
I had an issue with the drone game frequently. I would tap like crazy, but only manage about 180 Intel. The screen would hover over a section of the map away from the HQ where there weren’t any spawning soldiers to tap.
Also, a few times when I would go into my game a few minutes early(8-12 minutes before the full 4 hours), the HQ jobs were already done. Whenever it happened, my Intel didn’t reflect that I’d reset the jobs 4 hours before.
How many characters 20 , 6 earn 80 , 6 earn 60′, the rest earn 40 ..

Visit every single neighbor when events are on , got to make sure they all get a visit,I remember when I used to need those visits from friends to help get me through events ( 3from each friend adds up )

We had some problems with our broadband when the event started – problems like we had no internet for several days! So by the time I managed to download the update I was a full 3 days behind… and I somehow managed to complete act 1, got the last prize a few hours before act 2 started! No premium characters or anything, but what helped was probably the 2 year old who wakes me up during the night and early in the morning, so I had the chance to quickly log in and tap every 4 hours day and night – so 5 or 6 times a day! I did have problems with MITs not appearing in my town half the time though – did anyone else have to go to Krustyland and back to make them appear every time?
I have 4 year old and an 18 month old that nearly always garauntee a early AM tapping session. Silver linings.
I have a 4 yr old and twin 7 mo. I’m hitting fairly regularly to the tune of 5x a day and sometimes 6 because of it as well. I also had issues with MIT not appearing and had to go to Krustyland or a neighbor to get them to appear.
I was able to earn all prizes and one round of bonuts.
However, it was only because of my premium characters. I had all the regular characters plus Duffman, Rex, Gabbo and Lucious from the beginning. I then grabbed Lurleen with the rebate and then the Nerds (just grabbed femme fatal today, and KEM farming for Hank and Russ).
I logged in 3-4 times a day, cleared all my visited buildings and played the drone game. I made sure to complete the dossier daily and complete my daily reward challenge but never changed what I had to do, because it was always event related or donuts. I only visited neighbors 2 maybe 3 times (its such a chore anymore).
If I didn’t have premium characters, I wouldn’t have completed the prize track. If I would have visited neighbors daily I probably would have had 1 maybe 2 more bonut rounds.

I was having problems with the drone scan game until I read a post from Patric. Put phone in lap and tap away with six fingers randomly. Get 5-600 intel each time with 30-40 agents tapped. Thanks Patric. Had 13 people collecting but have most of the premium characters. Tap 3-4 times a day. Got 1 round of bonuts. Could see how it would be VERY difficult for a freemium player.
I didn’t get the last prize. Logged in every 4 hours as much as I could around my work day. Have 11 characters I can send on jobs for the event currency.
I think the drone scan has nerfed the number of schematics I should have. Was getting 30-35 agents and 3-7 super each time, but only 2-3 schematics each scan. Should I have been clearing the MIT manually instead? I don’t feel I’m going to get to the end of that prize track.
I finished the prize track last night, down to the wire. Granted, I haven’t had much time to follow the 4 hour schedule like I usually do. Some days I only got in 2 or 3 taps and I missed a few neighbor visits. So that was me. I did want to point out, however, that multiple times there were no MIT in my town. Even after a trip to KLand or a visit to neighbors I would come back and still none.
