I have to admit, that when I saw the details of this update, I wanted to quote my great grandfather to the 2,000th power, ThunderThighs Miller, with a single word…”Ugh!”
Of course, in his day, “Ugh” meant everything from, “Nice dress, it makes your hips look perfect for child bearing” to, “Hey! You Overcooked the Mammoth Again!!”
But, in this case…It was just the feeling of a whole-lotta-tappin’ going on, for some mildly odd prizes. I DO like the archaeology twist. But, just like archaeology, you have to be patient (not my strong suit).
In any case…the Prehistoric Prizes are all attainable, with some solid 4-hour planning (how did prehistoric man count hours?). Let’s take a look…

I really wish that they would give you extra time on the first part bc I always get the update super late. Just started at 10 pm Friday. They always give you leeway at the end…. a lot of us need it at the beginning tho instead!
Well, I’m behind. I started a day late and it looks like I’m not loggiing in enough so I guess I will have to buckle down and go in every for hours on the dot! Luckily, it’s still early and I have time to make up where I’m behind. 4,000 Behind isn’t too bad. I think I can catch up!! 🤞🏻

Did the update remove jobs? I’ve noticed (so far) that Sanjay and the vicious monkeys have lost their 8 hour tasks.
I’m not a 4 hour rapper and I don’t see premium characters like the last event that earn a lot of currency. Do you see anything in the files that may indicate charachters will be released who help?

Ok people. Don’t freak out. I didn’t get the update until Wednesday morning (EDT in US). My main town is already at 21,000. My other towns are at 15,000+. I expect to be caught up on calender in all accounts by the end of today. Oh, and I only logged in 3x yesterday on my B,C, and D towns.
This UK kindle user only just got the update, it 9pm best FRIDAY!!!

I withdraw my comments about being able to catch up. With the lower payouts, it is going to be tough. The difference in my towns today was very noticeable.
This morning, I got almost 6000 fossils in one sitting – finished two daily challenges (1200 and 2800 fossils), nuked all the dinosaurs, and dug up a couple of gems. Looks like fossils won’t be the limiting factor in this act, but the shovels. Slow digging…
Hey if you guys are struggling because you are in different time zones just put EST time on world clock.
I missed a whole day and a half of this event because I didn’t know it had hit. Do you have any idea when the next big update starts? I’ve gathered that the event always starts on a Tuesday at 8am GMT but how many weeks until the next one begins roughly?
I have no idea..i guess 9-12 weeks. We ALWAYS post when we suspect something is going to hit before it hits. But this is too far out

If you started on the 31st, you need 7,263 per day. They used to start the calendar on the second day due to the server and time issues.
Oh, no! I had no idea there was a new event until I couldn’t visit neighbors with newer content today… So I’m more than a day behind! ::sob::
Why must the image above the fold include your bitmoji? Would your site be more useful if your calendar was just a calendar? Having to click “below the fold” to expose a simple calendar image seems complicated for no good reason.
Because that’s the way we’ve done it since we started doing calendars…very rarely is a post written without there being a “below the fold”…regardless of what it is.
Going behind the scenes a bit…It’s how we accurately check to see who’s reading what post. Clicking the read more is the only way we can track to see if you’re looking at that post. Which in turns tells us what posts/topics are more popular than others…which it turn allows us to discontinue posts that aren’t as popular as others. So it just our way of tracking. I’m terribly sorry if you don’t like it, but we do what works best for us in some cases and this is one of those cases. You can always access the quick image of the calendar from the event page…

Sorry to say this but the totals for event currency are unrealistic, playing on kindle just got update this morning. I’ve knocked out tasks already logging as much as I can and I’m way behind and to be honest this event doesn’t same to good at the minute hope it improves as it progresses ???😕😕

Everyone is talking about new daily challenge… How could i get this Cecil guy? I am at 101 level right now and don’t have him.
Cecil was a reward from an event a couple of years ago. Look in your store. I’m not sure, but I think he’s for sale or something. Anyone know the answer to this?
I’m having the same problem and I think sideshow bob might be my issue. Essentially I don’t have him yet. I’m on level 58 or so. I played tapped out a few years ago but then stopped playing for some time. I got to level 27 or so. I then resumed playing on the same account earlier this year. Back when I went past those early twenties levels you could not unlock sideshow bob, but now that I have started playing again I am past the level that triggers his questline. I eventually had part 1 come up and since this update it triggered part 2 but I’m now waiting and hoping for part 3 because I believe once I unlock sideshow bob I’ll get the questline for Cecil. Do you have sideshow bob unlocked? Maybe this could be your problem too?
I did not have him in one of my games, and he automatically unlocked for me when the quest line triggered.
According to the calendar the event released on Tuesday. I did not get the update until late yesterday evening. This puts me almost 2 days behind, I’m still working on getting the Mammoth. I’m on iOS, anyone else encountering this issue? (Yes, I kept checking the iTunes store for updates). I’ve noticed the late release with the last few events. I play regularly, multiple times a day so pretty sure I’m not just missing something, especially since I check the store for updates when we’re close to events coming out.
Mabry you live in a different time zone. I have to work out lots to figure it out because I live in another country
Yesterday evening was still Tuesday…yes? The update hit everybody late yesterday afternoon, so you are not behind at all. Don’t stress, most of my neighbors were also at “0” or just starting this morning…you’ll catch up quickly. If you can afford it, my advice is to invest in the Boobarella skin, she helps with the event and her cave pays in event currency (the first Act is always the hardest). And do all 30 neighbor visits every day.

Clearly I did not drink enough coffee today! One day behind on the calendar not two, thinking it’s Thursday over here. Even with that event was released very late.

Anyone have thoughts about the dinosaurs? Should we be going in and harvesting/ hunting them down several times a day for maximum points? I know in other games there has been a relatively finite cap (~40?) to the number of critters that emerge, so you’d lose points after say, 4 hrs when you hit your town limit…. >It is clearly going to take awhile to get my Panini Press auto-harvester down from 18 hours to something more frequent. (Thought it was a smart twist on the part of the game developing team! 🙂 )
Any sense of what the spawn rate is? Do we need to leave some for neighbors to find, or are they generated independently?
Until your panini press is thoroughly upgraded it’s in your best interest to hunt for dinosaurs.
The spawn rate is in the main event post (when the event went live). I believe it’s one every 3 minutes, max in town was 20 or 30, but with a bank of 50.
My mantra for this part of the event: i will not stress, a skin for Moe and a cave is nothing to get stressed about.
I want cavegirl Booberella and her two rocks of wonder, but i have the actual Booberella and the skin for 100 donuts is such a bad investment. EA, I shake my fist at a cloud because of you.
Caveman Moe is a full character…not a costume for Moe. New character. Just FYI

Helpful hint: I was probably a little slow here…but for those of you like me, when excavating, playing the shovel game, if you find a rock, those surround the Ancient Gem. So if you find a rock, the Ancient Gem is in one of the squares surrounding the rock! This can help you choose where to dig more wisely, and help you collect the Ancient Gems needed to collect all of the excavation prizes. 🙂

Does anyone know how to start Cecil’s tasks for the Roads to Riches? I’ve tried visit a friends town and Krustyland but nothing happened. I even checked the daily task bar but nothing was there.
You pay money to put cecil on a task, that money accrues until you have 20 million, and get the dam.
Also, you can click on Cecil (directly or at the town hall). The Roads to Riches tasks show at the top of his list.
As a side note, it will remove any tasks that will make you overspend to complete. I started by testing the $1m task then went to the $10. when that was done, I only had the $5m and $1m tasks in his list.
Yeah I tried but his tasks aren’t showing. Probably gonna have to contact EA unless I manage to figure it out.

How do you check Cecil’s Progress. I had one screen pop up to contribute to the Hydro Electric Dam and after that nothing to speak of?
Click the Challenges button in the upper right corner (the one with the notebook and check). The Cecil tasks are the green dollar notebook tab on the left side.
In your Daily Challenges popup there’s a new spiral notebook (green with cash on it).
