I know. I know. We’ve seen a TON of this Crafting stuff before. As in almost half.
The good news? It makes the prizes in the regular prize track that much more important!! That’s right…we can coast a bit (as long as you log in every 4 hours or so) and you will be well on your way to building a really cool “Potter-esque” campus and town!
And…as always, I start the calendar on Day ONE. But, don’t panic…each day is 24 hours long, so day one isn’t just the date, but also the full 24 hours from that date. Got it? So…hold off on your “I’m Already Behind!!” I know. We ALL are…at first.
So…let’s take a look at the numbers, and the prizes…so you can start plotting your next few weeks in 4-hour blocks!

So…yes…this is not a “traditional Halloween.” But, let’s face it..with all of the old Halloween prizes being offered from past Halloweens, perhaps something as “fresh” as a Potter-esque update will be fun. Right? Like…one magic spell…from your own special wand…a bit of a flash…and BOOM! You’ll be having fun before you know it!
Or…like the last few major events…we will just grind on…and grind on…and grind on.
Ohhh, the grind. I joined this game with the Stonecutters event and I’m sad to say I’m losing interest…
I don’t mind grinding to get something I would want, but decorations are not helpful. I have the boatload most of us have in storage, and really only decorate for Christmas. I have 170 characters, and the newest ones are tedious. I started to lose interest with last year’s Christmas/ Holiday/Pagan event with Maggie sacrificing goats (weird!). I’ve deleted at least 10 neighbors at each event ( usually with 5 or more weeks since last play before the event starts). I’m sad, this game was fun!!
I loved the Community Prize track. I loved silly trivia, and I loved Christmas presents in my town. I never finished Springfield Heights because I can’t grind that long. I stored my Monorail because it doesn’t really fit and it slows my game. It’s awkward. I store most of the previous event because it’s getting too far away from the game I got addicted to.
I visit my neighbors at least twice weekly, more during events. I love seeing the changes in their towns, but they are so jam-packed that some kick me clean out of the game. There are a few still designing, but a lot just have enough space to plop the next building. I thought I would carry on and gather all of the premium characters, I might still. But it’s becoming tiresome. It’s a chore. I know it’s hard to come up with new content, but there’s a lot of Simpsons episodes. . . And lots of trivia to be had.
I’ll stick it out until Christmas. They won’t improve, but at least I’ll have something to do since we don’t have family coming this year 😉
And in reply to my own message, I cannot craft half of the items. . . Got them last year. Grrrrr
I started the same time right in the middle of the stone cutters event and my feelings are about the same. The same old stuff for every event, pick characters to do battle or whatever,why cant it me mixed up. It’s like playing the same thing over and over all for mostly worthless prizes. This events crafting is the same things I’ve already got enough of and I’m at the 7200 limit or over, game cant keep up with the graphics (blinks and shows weird display sometimes on ios anyway). But all in all I think this is close to the end for me and I’ve played as premium a player all this time at least spent $25.00 per month as i like to have every character. Last years Christmas event was the beginning of the end for me anyway. Improvements are needed EA open your eyes and see paying (customers) players jumping ship, or maybe your looking to freemium games Why not just sell the entire game with updates like your PlayStation games.
I do feel your disillusion. My TSTO love affair took a fatal hit when EA tweaked the inventory system and brought my third Springfield rebuild to a crashing halt, where it has remained. That used to be a source of immense sadness and frustration to me, and those feelings were compounded every time a “new” event delivered a minor variation on the same template. But I am now reconciled to the understanding that the glory days of TSTO are gone and it will never be the game it was – to me, at least. I no longer dwell on “the good old days” and spend each “new” event dutifully tapping my Neighbours (trying not to envy the stunning designs I will never be able to attempt to replicate), stockpiling donuts until Springfield Gorge is discounted again, and sitting outside in the sun with iPod, headphones and a really good book.
I might also add that in this instance the monorail “bug” (if that’s what it is) arrived in my game at the same time as Potterween, which is allowing me to focus on donuts instead of Dobby snot. And of course it’s just a “silly little game” that costs nothing to play and provided me with four or five years of wonderful entertainment before it all turned to …
I feel exactly the same, I also started playing on Stonecutters which is my favorite event ever, and yes, after X-Mass 2016 I started loosing interest in the game, all this reciclying trend is getting ridiculous, we’ll see how it goes on X-Mass 2017
Wow, lots of us started during Stonecutters – I did too. I’m to the point where I’m still trying to design some new areas (& redesign others), but alongside that I’m having to choose stuff to store also as I’m getting too close to the max level. I can’t bear to simply store all my trees & fences etc, so I’m going to have to start choosing which buildings I like the best. I may have to store my monorail – I have to halt it during most big events anyway so my game runs better. I never did finish redesigning it to go through the mountains; well it’s going through one tunnel but not back through the other. Tough decisions – I’m still trying to decide on tons of stuff! 😬 RachelS
I have the same problem when going to neighbors. I get kicked out or my game freezes and I have to back out. It’s like that for like 15 of my neighbors.
Ditto on the Magic (Tragic) Scratch-R. Lost 100 donuts. I have a bad feeling EA wont see this as a big thing as we’ll loose our money. I got a “thank you for contacting EA” response after I outlined my issue and all the payment details.
Seriously EA?!! Crafting rewards repeats from last halloween, most of which I already own!!!! “WORST EPISODE EVER”!!!
Quick tip! If you have all 5 characters to capture all 4 monsters, proceed to Tale of Two Mages part 3. There’s a task for Lisa and Bart (Lisa’s task earns wands). Keep sending Bart, Milhouse, Angelica, and Martin to capture. Then, Lisa is not needed. Keep sending her on her 4 hr task to earn an extra 50 wands for an extra 200-250 per day without compromising your full capturing abilities. Been doin’ this since yesterday and no problems. Side note, there may have been a way to do this in Tale of Two Mages part 1 or 2. Didn’t think of it ’till part 3.

But Lisa gets 50 wands for battling monsters as well – I don’t see the upside, since both tasks are 4 hours long.
i was wondering about this as well… capturing monsters with lisa nets you 50 wands and cleanses half a dark mana, whereas doing the side quest task only gets you the 50 wands.
Wait, when does Martin become able to battle monsters? I can only sent Lisa, Bart, and Milhouse.
You need to have the Wizard Martin skin.
As ever, Amazon UK late with the update again so falling behind already. Seems like I’ll be switching tablets soon!

Agree with other comments on crafting being meh this time around, can’t believe I grinded 25mil on KEM’s before the event just in case it was something good!
Haha-I did the same exact thing with 27 mil KEM farming. And so far nothing worth spending it on (I did get wigops) but that’s it.
Is anyone else unable to receive their prizes? I get the required number of wands but I’m not getting them. Also, the side task bar seems to have stopped working. I can click on the task icon (like Bart & Lisa in wizard garb) but nothing happens.
There are definitely some interface issues. No doubt about it. I suspect there will be another patch soon.
But, if you are reaching the required number of wands, and not getting the prizes (did you check your inventory?), then you may need to contact EA.
Same thing is happening to me.
I am sending Lisa to the monster and she is getting 50 wands per 6 seconds. I can do this over and over. So far I am up to over 5000 wands, started at over 400, and also did not get the first prize.
This is a huge bug. I could probably get over 10,000 if I have the patience, lol but I have other stuff to do.
Looks like a load of rehash to me.. not impressed
Still haven’t received the Donuts from the magic scratcher yet. The 24 hour mark EA promised to have issue fixed by is coming up shortly.

You’re at XP level 163, but that doesn’t mean anything in terms of what game level you’re asst. That’s determined by where you are in the level questlines. Have you completed all non-event tasks in your task book (not including things like the redwood and money mountain)?
Do you have to buy Martin’s Wizard skin in order for him to be able to capture?

I am having issues loading pages on this site (and other sites on WordPress) on my iPad. It works fine on my iPhone both on WiFi and 4G. It only seems to load part of the page, and to view more of the page I have to hard close safari to get a bit more of the page to load. Is anyone else having this issue?
Both devices have the same IOS software, so it can’t be the reason, and other, non-Wordpress, sites load just as quickly as normal.
Is there a way to make the icons bigger? A couple days ago it changed it so it is zoomed out and the icons are tiny.

When I go to my store all i see are the usual stuff for sale. i do have the limited time piece-of-crap-car and pink funzio and devil float but thats about it for anything new…. nothing from previous years of THOH. Am i doing something wrong? I’m level 22, my game updated and I’m doing part one of the Tale of Two Mages quest. Thanks in advance for your help!
Skip the “Tale of Two Mages” questline until later, and focus instead on the main quest. Once you get to a certain point, all THOH content should show up in your store.
You need to work on the event questline, Angelica Button and the Mystical Beasts.

Yeah I have the same issue. Check out the previous post here. The offer does not show up on iOS & Kindle’s at the moment. It only shows up on Androids at the moment.
I still get a frozen screen whenever I try to get either the 99 cent or golden scratch off tickets. I get sound effects but everything freezes and I have to hard close my iPad. But doing that doesn’t fix anything.
On another note; I never got that Shelby guy so I’m not offered the skin and bonuts for SVT. like another player has mentioned I have one SVT in my game and one in my inventory….that one has been there yes. and no playable.
Do you know if I were to buy the Shelby guy I will be offered to buy SVT with skin? I don’t want to spend money on S guy if skin for SVT won’t be offered.

Yes, you need Wizard Martin in order to unlock his ability to capture beasts.

I bought Treestache and Wiggops and Martin’s wizard skin (had to do some transactions at the vault first, hehe), the rest coming soon this week. Which is mainly saving donuts for A.B.
Whoever has Wiggops: look closely at his movement – the original figure and his stop-motion movement as well – comes from a Ray Harryhausen movie, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad! Nice idea, EA 😂

I agree with you about the crafting and the infamous covered bridge has returned with this event (it can’t be that hard for EA to resize the bridge and allow it to go on water like some previous bridges) but at least most (if not all) crafting currency can go to the new craftables instead and I will probably spend some on the old walls from last year. Its interesting that the numbers are set to be much lower than previous events where you have to get thousands a day but this one is hundreds.
