Springfield Jobs – Act One Calendar and Numbers to Get It All!

I’m not going to lie…(and you shouldn’t trust anyone who starts by saying that…as it implies that they lie all of the time, and this is an exception…like politicians who start off something with”trust me…”)…I already hate this event.

Why? Because they have ignored the two most requested aspects for improving the game.  First, we asked that they “Make the Events Shorter.”  Their answer?  This is one of the longest…if not THE longest events in TSTO history. It will run a full 48 days…and the acts have now expanded to 16.5 days…which for all practical purposes, should be 17.

The other thing most of our readers asked for, was reducing or eliminating the crafting in these events. What did they do? Expanded it.

But…here we are…a bunch of addicts who are going to play the update, whether we say we won’t or not. We will grit our teeth for expanded/extended grinding…and see if we can outlast EA.  There are LOADS of new items…without actually increasing the item limit enough for most of the longtime players to add them without “device issues.”  But…that would make THREE gripes in one post…so I will refrain.

Instead…I will simply offer up the calendar(s) so you can stay on pace to GET IT ALL!!

Let’s start off by saying that this calendar is a bit wonky…because the start of the event was/is wonky.  For us in the REAL Springfield…it started on Wednesday the 21st at 7am-PDT.  However, the Act Ends at 5a on Friday the 6th…which is pretty damn long, and confusing if you are making a calendar that crosses several timelines.

So……..for the purposes of trying to make sense of this, and keep you on track…I have the calendar ending roughly 5 hours early (Thursday at midnight)…just so you aren’t caught off guard. Clear as mud?  Well…it makes as much sense as the expanded event, and the start stop time in the servers.  ERGH!!

But, here are the numbers… have fun…set your timers for every 4 hours…and Grind, baby, grind!

As always…click the images to enlarge them.

And for the “just the numbers please” set…

  1. I’m not a fan of the long events I think 30 days is the sweet spot. however the first act alone gives us three new characters plus other prizes. I hope the other acts arebjistbas good to us

  2. I am a freemium player, and there are only 15 days left, or maybe 14 days, and I haven’t got to the second prize yet. I haven’t got any stuffs to put in the zone. I’m still at zero percent bonus. Should I be worry? Because the last event of Bart Royale, I almost miss the finale prize of the act. I earned that final prize in just a nick of time. It was so stressful.

    • the way this works, it gets easier over time. work up your bonus percentage, help friend, you can earn stuff, and just keep grinding. It will be ok

  3. This might be the event that breaks me. 48 days and I’m not even excited about the content. This might be the end. It’s been a good run. 😞 Maybe EA is tired of their game? Maybe that’s why they made it 48 days. 48 days they don’t have to deal with programming.

  4. I’m not gonna buy those 2 characters at 300 donuts, that’s way too much. But seeing the progress i’m making now (especially with only 300 price currency for the daily challenges) I’m afraid it’s gonna be a long grind.
Maybe it will change when we progress.
I like it that thosr creepy sneekers (the criminals) are back, and from what i think, with the craftable things, you can make a nice design (of a venice-like thing)
All in all, (dispite the lenght and the 4 hour login) I kinda like this event

  5. I’m with everything Patric has griped about, then on top of that EA wants $10 for Sven Golly! Uhg! The one character I was excited about getting, I could be easier talked into it if it was for the cheaper pack, but $10? I’ll check out the “should I buy” on him, I really want him but unless he has awesome tasks I can’t see myself forking over so much real world money. Darn you EA.

  6. My concern lay less in the length of the event than the content. Despite the number of new characters, there is so much missing in our Springfields yet EA continues to import non-Springfield content, which I personally find disappointing. This feels pretty much like Destination Springfield 2018. I suppose one could make a good EPCOT out of this event.

  7. I can login 5 times a day every 4 hours at least for a few weeks. I can play at work so no problem there. Maybe I will get everything I want out of this event.

  8. How do you earn crooks to put in your neighbors towns?
I know how to place them there, but is there any way to earn more? I’ve only been able to place a couple so far.

  9. I don’t know if you guys are receiving this problem.. but I won the first item of act 1… when I tap to get it, the game simply freezes… 🤔… when would this be solved?!? and what about the time we lost to get the next step?

    • Isaacmarleymorgan

      Mines crashing too

    • Yep. I have had crashing issues too. Except it was when I opened a Mystery Box. When I tried to place the price, CRASH. On third try, I stored the item so that the game would move on.

    • The prize is huge and you need a huge free space to place it. The game is searching (albeit pretty slowly) for a space to place the prize and if it doesn’t find one, it freezes. There’s no option this time to “place or store?” since it is non-storable during the event, so you need the empty space ready before you get to this point in the event.
Ot much help if you are already there, but hopefully this will help somebody else.

  10. Rick rick in hell I'd in game

Hum mm oh really let’s see check change in buying land is same you need token ,which you can buy with donuts in crafting in fact anything you want to make game faster which when you do finish you make even more donuts with tapping no reason why a player can not earn 6 doubts per day plus the rail road bulging which you do not have to use players to have that 5 more douts so making say 2 to 5 hundred doughnut and large amount of cash from buldings and player which make 1000 per 24 hous. Now why is cash needed? For those large item that come out every quarter or so.you make money , and counts by knowing what to play with hint have only 1 brown house

  11. The daily prize only gave 300! Not enough! Aaaaargh! Will have to play nights! EA, I need my sleep! This is unrealistic.

  12. I will probably be the minority here.. but I enjoy long and challenging events so much.. and i love Grinding so!! ofc everyone is different 🙂 it seems that there will always be something to do, i saw the craftables, the prizes and wow! Im so so excited about this event! Very happy tapper!!

  13. I love the look of this event but like most others struggling with messages about item limits and no room to design. Everything since Christmas just gets dumped in the corner of my town. Haven’t had to deal with this for years and bad memories. Back then it was because I was lower level and didn’t have much in game cash. Now I have tons of in game cash but EA is just being pricks about land

    • My stuff is all jumbled up, but just because there has been no down time so that we can reorganize and redesign. I really need time between events to do this. Back to back to back is too much. I know the mini event wasn’t supposed to be hard, but only one of my towns finished it…..

  14. Rollback Glitch

So frustrated by this glitch. EA contacted me today and said the rollback did not work. Said that they sent my case to the supervisor and they are working on a fix. Since I have been playing for over 5 years, they said they would send my case to the front of the line. I’m not that gullible, and I think it total BS. Why would EA release another level when so many people are having issues with game performance. Put the update back a week and fix the game issues !!! I’m truly and addict – because this is driving me up a wall

  15. I’m new at this, (Started before Bart royal). I have no good events to remenice about. I need everything i can get, because i have very little. My only upside is i don’t think i can be rollbacked, because i have nothing to roll back to =(

  16. 2nightsthenight

It sucks that everyone is not more excited 😑
Yes, the length on this is insane, and I could definitely do without the three acts, and the “bonus” for placing things nearby… but- I am actually super stoked for this event. I’ve been playing since 2014, and this looks like it’ll be a fave of mine. New characters, use of others that are not typically used for everything (I see you Ruth Powers), cool new buildings, and something that will float in the river…
But I digress. Thanks for the calendar, Patric!

    • I like this event as well, the items do look really interesting and some of the buildings from the past like Buckingham Pay-Less Motel and the Italian Villa can be more easier for me to design with the new items. My main issue with the event is with the length of the event, 4 hour cycle and the 3 act system. The bonus placement is not too bad since you can get more than half of the max percentage by crafting the items required for the quest. I also like that the characters needed don’t affect the Rail Yard with only 3 RY workers helping with the event.

  17. 7 weeks. This is getting ridiculous. I really have no desire to grind for that long. I’ve already lost interest. The upcoming characters are ones I’m unfamiliar with. Just a lot of trash and clutter. I will be getting Johnny Tightlips though. I’m not even a day in and I’m thinking of giving it a miss.

I’m on a business trip where I don’t get good wifi, but like EA, I just don’t care anymore.

I really hate the ‘craft some junk to increase your percentage’ crap. My goal now is to just collect the old content and make a living shrine to what once was a fun game.

  18. Existing rollback glitch still not addressed. New glitches appearing. A month and a half of grinding. An absolute chore this game of late. See ya EA. I’m done.

Thanks to the Addicts guys all these years for all your hard work. I’d have been lost without you. And you made it fun.

Catch you on the flippity if ever EA start listening/caring about their customers.

  19. I’m gonna second the 3 gripes. My heart sank the moment the event loaded 🙁 I like the amount of new characters and some of the new buildings etc (other than the repetitive town house stuff). that alone could’ve put this event right up there among the likes of stone cutters (could even in fact have surpassed it imho). But sigh @EA… I opened the event and my instant reaction was: *FAIL*

I’m struggling to psyche myself up to even log in, in anticipation of that gut wrench annoyance knowing I have to grind for SO LONG. Screws up my town design (this dumb put random rubbish in a zone around a non related bldg thing). More constant error msgs about the number of items in my town. More repetitive *log in every 4 hours, rinse, repeat* (no creativity!) Just another chore.

I never kem farmed. I bought doughnuts, honestly, in an effort to support dev on a game I enjoyed. Last few events, since they want to try force me to log in every four hours, I’m using that time to kem farm, not support the game and instead question myself on whether it worth it. And there is no way in hell that I will set an alarm. It’s supposed to be a game, it’s supposed to be fun!

Thx for the calendar Patric! I’ve always bookmarked them in the past. Sadly this the first time I don’t actually care about it.

    • I suspect there are going to be more players with this same attitude. I’m rEAlly bummed that EA is so lazy…because in the end, it’s all about that. Doing things to spread out the time they have between events…and adding features (like the forced “free” land tiles) that help them control the grids, without having to fix their code. Any way you look at it…expecting a player of any game to maintain enthusiasm for that long of a period of time, is simply unrealistic.

  20. Hi Patric – thanks for the calendars.
Can you point me to a breakdown of how the daily numbers add up ? I’m a fairly new player (Halloween 17) and while I understand the 4 hour cycle, I’m trying to figure out the math for visiting friends and collecting justice agents etc. Due to my annoying day job, I can’t collect 4x/day and short of staying up way past my bedtime, need to figure out how to stay on track. Currently I have 10 characters that can do the 4 hour grind for 30 pictures = 300. Even a link to a past calculation would help – thanks so much !

    • Well…here is the good news/bad news. You really do need to log in, even for a couple of minutes, to clear and replace those who are “doing the jobs.” It really only takes a few seconds, and can easily be accomplished during a break at work. The other thing to remember, is that the majority of the crooks you have to clear in your town will congregate near the museum. They are easy to nail there. As far as the Neighbors? I hate to say it…but, it really isn’t a critical factor to staying on task for the main prize track.

The CUME that I post each day is for a 24 hour cycle…so, don’t sweat it if you don’t hit it by midnight every day.

Finally… EA DOES usually give out loads of event currency for daily tasks. So do those. In short…clear/replace the crooks…do the daily task…clear the crooks in your town when they gather in clumps…don’t sweat the rest.

      • Thanks Patric ! I guess I’m old school as I only play on my Ipad, which i can’t use at work . . . might have to drive to my local Tim’s (I’m CDN) at lunch to access their free wifi. I really want to be able to collect all the prizes !

  21. The target’s seem really high I’m in UK and only just hit 2000 today so it looks like hardly any sleep for the next few days !!

  22. Didn’t get the update (Amazon) until late last night (Wed) and only knew there was one when the tsto icon changed on my homepage.
I agree with you Patrick, 7 weeks is waaaaay too long for an event
As ever the post-Easter holiday probably without WiFi will make it feel even longer!!

  23. i know ill hate this, but im doing it anyway, i need the characters i can get

  24. elSchopenhauer

At least the prizes are worth getting- lots of buildings, not much recycling if any at all

  25. Wow! When I see the number to reach I am freaking out! Is it me or others too? I have only 2891 picture frames so far! I got only 300 at the daily bonus. It’s Thursday night here and I am not even near the 5178! Wont even get the land today! I still have one collection to do but even so. It’s even slower than in other events! I am usually ahead by the second or third day, but I do not see this happening. I am so used to the 1500 to 2000 in the daily bonus, 300 is nothing!
Please let me know if others find it slow too. The craftables are going to be as well excruciatingly li j’ai to get with just 1 necklace per security guy. And very few with the heist planning.
Again, another dragging long event! EA is not listening!

    • same thing here .
on bart royal ,i had some advance but actually i’m late.
1200 less a day ,it is 18000 at the end of the act .
      i play 4/5 time a day so 300*4 + 300 =1500 a day
with the bonus at 20% it is 240 more by day
ok there is more with neighboors and agents but not enough
i wonder if i’ll be able to have the last prizes .
      thanks for the calendar .

    • JOCO- Ditto. Nowhere near those numbers on either of my games…..💜X

  26. How do you send crooks to friends towns?

  27. AbraCadabra51M54

I agree with you regarding the length of the event, even though I’d like to see EA surprising us with enough action to entertain us throughout all 48 days.
I think differently about the crafting. I absolutely love the idea of crafting my own Italian town. Usually I HATE to feel obligated to craft a million pieces of useless stuff I don’t want and can’t sell and I am very thankful that EA reacted to these complaints and discarded these game mechanics.
I’m sure the same could be said with only half the word count, but I’m German and everyone knows we love long words and sentences.😁

THANKS again for working out the calendar for us, Patrick!

    • No worries…I think my gripe has to do with the opportunity to craft a town…while dodging the prohibitive item limits. Bad combo.

  28. Uff da. Thanks for the warning. I knew it’d be bad when I saw 45 terraced houses to craft.

  29. The never ending event… 😕

Why aren’t EA listening to us? 😠

  30. Just curious, why is the old guy in a pope hat?
