I’m not going to lie…(and you shouldn’t trust anyone who starts by saying that…as it implies that they lie all of the time, and this is an exception…like politicians who start off something with”trust me…”)…I already hate this event.
Why? Because they have ignored the two most requested aspects for improving the game. First, we asked that they “Make the Events Shorter.” Their answer? This is one of the longest…if not THE longest events in TSTO history. It will run a full 48 days…and the acts have now expanded to 16.5 days…which for all practical purposes, should be 17.
The other thing most of our readers asked for, was reducing or eliminating the crafting in these events. What did they do? Expanded it.
But…here we are…a bunch of addicts who are going to play the update, whether we say we won’t or not. We will grit our teeth for expanded/extended grinding…and see if we can outlast EA. There are LOADS of new items…without actually increasing the item limit enough for most of the longtime players to add them without “device issues.” But…that would make THREE gripes in one post…so I will refrain.
Instead…I will simply offer up the calendar(s) so you can stay on pace to GET IT ALL!!
Let’s start off by saying that this calendar is a bit wonky…because the start of the event was/is wonky. For us in the REAL Springfield…it started on Wednesday the 21st at 7am-PDT. However, the Act Ends at 5a on Friday the 6th…which is pretty damn long, and confusing if you are making a calendar that crosses several timelines.
So……..for the purposes of trying to make sense of this, and keep you on track…I have the calendar ending roughly 5 hours early (Thursday at midnight)…just so you aren’t caught off guard. Clear as mud? Well…it makes as much sense as the expanded event, and the start stop time in the servers. ERGH!!
But, here are the numbers… have fun…set your timers for every 4 hours…and Grind, baby, grind!
As always…click the images to enlarge them.
And for the “just the numbers please” set…

this is a crap event. just like some of the past ones, there’s no nice something to click to get rid of all the agents with one go. the last i remember is the time travel one (?) and now this event doesn’t even have the get more and search for the agent like outlands just had. i’m 2g off the target because i can’t sit the whole day and look for some dudes. EEEEAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
There is no need of some kind of magic button to get rid of the agents. They gravitate to the Museum of Super Fine Arts. There you can tap them all.
I lost a day because it didnt auto update, but I’m at 3500 and been hitting the heists every 4 hours. How does one even get to 7700 by today? Sheesh.lol
My biggest issue is now that most players have a massive amount of land and objects, why do they continue having events where we have to search through towns to find the characters to tap? I am exhausted after searching three neighbours towns trying to find people to tap. And another issue is how they constantly have this pop up that tells us we have too many objects in our towns and then they release events that is nothing but trying to accumulate as many objects as possible so they either need to figure their shit out or else they need to figure their shit out… I have been playing this game literally since the day it was released and I have spent so much money on donuts in this game I feel like I’m not getting a very good ROI anymore #gettingboredfastEA /endrant
There is this building I’ve seen in friends towns, it must have come out during the 1 1/2 years I stopped playing. It’s an L shaped building crappy downtown looking, (Kowloon walled city looking). I hope it comes out in the vault. It’s my favorite looking building. How can I get it?
Posting a screenshot of that building would be helpful.
Do you have an picture of the building or can you give another description of it? There were some Japanese items that were released last year for the Destination Springfield event in the second act which was about Japan and before the event there were Chinese items released for the Lunar New Year update.
It’s from superheroes 2 and as it’s a event center i don’t think it’ll ever come back
I had a feeling it was from the super heroes event. I think it would go nice with the new brick buildings
Im behind so far. Oh well…
I’ve been playing (freemium) since the game started. Although I tutted at the length of the event I was heartened it wasn’t all the usual cor characters. As an addict I’ll grumble and get on with it – even if it seems a bit slow at first.
My big gripe is the animation on money and XP collection has gone. I know it’s stupid but I liked making it rain and it could take a while to collect in all I had generated (my town is big and generates over $1m a day).
I’m 2 days behind maaan but I want Nana Sophina well I guess it’s time to use these donuts
I still have not got the second prize yet but close to getting it. I have got my first crafting item (Gondola) and I hope the boost starts to be useful on catching up though it would of been better if it affected the Plunder rate as well as the Paintings. Usually in these big events everyone should get a prize at least every 2-3 days if they follow the calendar but a 4 day wait from the Leaning Tower to Nana Mussolini seems too long, maybe EA could of added another Plunder prize in between Nana and the Tower.
I bought Johnny Tightlips and Plato’s Republic Casino because it was on sale and I had been wanting it for my Casino section along the Squidport.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that he can earn event currency! 175 donuts with a 50 donut rebate. 125 donuts total!
Thank you for a very useful post. I bought the casino based on your post and sure enough some much needed event help arrived, Johnny Tightlips. Time to review old posts and find out the other participating premium characters.
He has a very funny 1 hour jobs with Legs and Louie.
However, Johnny won’t like it 😈
great, one day and a half behind already… we didn’t even had time to rest from previous event with that mini event in the middle, and most likely we’ll have mini events in the middle of this one.
And you HAVE to play every event they throw at you? 😉
For me, it’s all about what things I can get during an event. I liked the items and characters from the magic and christmas event, did not like the war/playground event and hence ignored it, did not care about St. Patrick and ignored it, too.
Life’s too short to get angry about a freemium game.
We’ve had a ridiculous amount of free time in the past few weeks. For the Outlands event I would finish 1 week early each time, St Pats only lasted a few days and we had to wait 1/2 – 1 week, then the Episode mini-event was over in a day. I really don’t know what people expect… we’ve had so much free time over the past 2-3 weeks, it’s nice to *finally* have something to do
St pats day may have only taken you a few days but I literally just finished it. Thankfully ea let you finish whichever prize you were collecting for, which for me was the final one, so I was able to run St pats and jobs concurrently.
And for the first time since 2013 I didn’t earn every prize in an event with outlands. I missed pyro by 125 donuts.
Life has taken over in 2018 and I’m not able to log in faithfully every 4 hours anymore. I’ve had what feels like no ‘freetime’. I certainly haven’t been able to replan my Springfield looks wise for at least the last 5 or 6 events, so have a higgledy-piggledy mess now.
I still WANT to play, but it’s getting to be a burden more than an enjoyment.
As others have said if you want to re organise your town, then go ahead. No one is putting a gun to your head to make you complete a event. Chill out my friend.
I am over 1,000 behind now, but I do not think that is much of a concern this early. I’m more concerned about boredom setting in. The dialogue and themes are usually still good Simpsons material, but they would have greater impact over a shorter time.
But…here we are…a bunch of addicts who are going to play the update, whether we say we won’t or not.
I refuse to send Homer on the task that starts the event.
48 days of grinding for a ton of stuff that I will have to scroll past in storage. No thanks!
Land tokens? St Pauls? Pisa? Beef Eaters? Da Vinci Helicopter? Doctor Who’s Tardis???
I’m hopping the TARDIS is not part of the act 2 finally as it want more then 1
Spring break/no service for the next week. *shrugs* well, there goes act one. Any way i can save it?
Spend doughnuts on premium items
im saving my 60 donuts until i know what to buy
I get that a lot of people are frustrated with the item/land issue, but being somewhat new to the game (I started during the Toaster event) I’m enjoying this one. The theme/characters are pretty interesting to me, and that 9.99 donut offer is a pretty good deal!
As soon as I saw the 48 day event I was surprised. Knew Patric would lose it as he had correctly posted, shorter is better. Keep the game exciting, longer events aren’t exciting. JMO.
Well.. for me this is probably going to be Best.. TSTO.. Event.. Ever! Mostly because I really love Italy and I can’t wait to see how my “Little Italy” is going to look like. And I have to say.. I like these long events.. and I like those 3 acts in major events. Don’t know if it’s just me but I’m enjoying these schemes. So.. great job EA. Thank you. I’m really super happy right now ^^
The calendar made me do a doubletake. I make my own for me & my wife to gauge our progress on & with the last prize on this act being 40,120 frames & being 16 days (act 2 starts on the 6th of April), which means we need to get 2508 (2507.5) a day, reaching 40128 by the 5th. Your calendar scared me thinking we had to get more per day(unless the last prize isn’t 40,120 & is actually more) LOL
Just venting…. Two of my neighbors already have over 43,000 pictures of paintings in the 2nd day of the event, while my 98 other neighbors and I are in the calendar range or less! Any comments??
Donuts make things happen very fast.
It’s common knowledge that there are many hacked games out there. I have a neighbour who has finished all 3 acts already, which is “impossible”. I won’t report them because I like seeing all the cool stuff in their town
He could have converted his game cash into bonuts.
For instance: I have 825 million game cash and a bonus percentage about 1900. Some guesstimation leads me to 10,000+ donuts 🍩
Just like Bugs Bunny says “I could’ve, but I wouldn’t”
It’s plausible, but I’m 100% sure they have a hacked game. They have very few income-producing buildings after nuking their town a few years ago i.e. mostly empty land except for a few events at a time. Sometimes they skip events, but others they have everything unlocked on Day 1. Even Acts that aren’t unlocked and wouldn’t be accessible even with millions of doughnuts. Your bonus is ridiculous 🙂 I thought I was doing well on 548% haha
That makes chEAting much more likely.
I had some very lucky glitches to achieve that ridiculously high bonus.
I only do Halloween and Christmas. The rest of the time I collect free donuts with where’s Maggie and the monorail.
Is anyone else noticing that it really slow going to get the crafting currency as well as the masks to allow you to drop into neighbour’s towns? I have collected 3 times already today (and I collected four times yesterday) and tapped all of the available agents each time I’ve collected and I haven’t collected a single mask today – I only collected about 3 yesterday! And I have only just collected enough crafting currency to craft one item…
Ditto. I have only crafted ONE item so far (the gondola). I am playing the game about four times each day. I still don’t have enough to craft a second item.
Since the event began, I have collected just 11 total masks.
This event might be the most puzzling since I began playing (Casino event).
I’m not disagreeing with the gripes, but also want to point out a couple things EA did that are improvements (and no, I’m not an employee). 🙂
I like that they changed craftables to be open instead of having to “level up” by crafting a ton of useless hints to get to the next options.
And, they chose to utilize characters besides the same ten that do everything. We can keep earning donuts at normal rate almost at the railyard.
And, I kinda like the story. They included characters in the prize track, too. And improved gameplay with the animation for money collected cut out.
And in the past they have adjusted payouts mid event when the pace seems too slow, like the craftables or daily challenges here. I am hoping that they made it just the right amount of challenging that someone that is mostly freemium can do it with the grind, but those with premium characters here and there can get it without setting alarms.
No more grinding for me, 3 maybe 4 times a day, only thing I see that I want in my town is a tardis or 4,
Sorry Patric…. I saw we had an almost 50 day event and I immediately thought of that little cartoon head explode and I could do nothing but laugh. You’re like Moses going to Rameses, “let my land, grinding and items go!”
Blessed are the meek, eh, your holiness? 🙂
Hate it, 48 days, enough said
Just notice that my “Poppa Wheelie’s” is now part of the Stranger Things upside down world…wierd, huh?
https://imgur.com/a/5Ffrh
Even wierder…when I tap it (like wanting to move it), the shadow version has the sign the right way, but when it gets placed the sign is backward.
Not really excited about the event’s content and flood of one-off characters. Where are regulars like Sarah Wiggum, for example?
Way off the calendar in my B game, so i guess it’s the first event since 3/2013 when I started playing that I’m not trying hard to get everything.
My A game with more premium stuff and one daily challenge carried over from yesterday looks somewhat better. But I’m still a bit underwhelmed by the content.
Maybe it’s just hard to keep interested after all this time…
It appears as if the prize track will get easier as you increase the bonus %, but that being said, it appears as if the “choke point” for this event is the crafting supplies. I haven’t done any serious math, but it took me a day-and-a-half to get the gondola that you need as part of the quest line.
It looks like crafting supplies ramp up a bit too, but there are so many things to craft in this event. It’s early…I’ll worry more later. 🙂
48 days…no way I will not hate this event by then, sooo….
Going to take a different tack. Just going to craft what I want in my town and not worry about building a 20% bonus around the museum (and other buildings in acts 2 and 3). Have finished early in all the events lately, so no more worrying about “getting everything” when I really don’t even want everything. Almost everything from the last event ended up in storage after the event, so I’m not doing it again.
I really enjoyed the laid back way the Christmas event played out, so that’s how I’m going to play this one. I’ll play when I want and work only towards prizes I want…if I don’t finish, I’ll farm donuts and buy those prizes with farmed donuts.
I just might enjoy this event after all.😄
I do like dropping bad guys in my neighbors town =) i miss my neighbors. I hated being a hermit…..
I like visiting, too…just wish we could buy extra bad guys to drop off…seems like a good use for donuts☺️.
I remember an Easter event where you could a trail of easter eggs and even write some text with them. You has scores of eggs each day to do that.
