I believe my prediction for this major event was, “it’s gonna be a game-changer.” Like calling something “interesting,” the term “game-changer” can mean almost anything…good or bad. And in my opinion, that pretty much covers it. This is some good, with a handful of bad thrown in.
Let’s start with the fact that most people don’t like change. Moving, a death in the family, changing jobs…these all sit at the top of the “stress meter” when it comes to adjusting in life. And in many ways, nuking Krustyland, along with the myriad little changes that came with it, were a combination of all of these. There is was certainly death. There was the stress of packing up and moving. And, there are myriad new jobs, and ways of dealing with old jobs, that have been forced upon us.
All of this requires adjustments…even if some of the new changes are ultimately for the better. And, there are a couple of them that are clear improvements over the “old way.”
Let’s break down some tips that will help you maneuver the changes, without losing your collective minds.
Addicts are by nature compulsive. Some, not all, are more than a tad OCD…which means they fight change, because they like “everything in its place.” Fair enough. This event is really going to test that. Sorry about that…
The Death of Krustyland as we Knew It
OK. This is really kinda overstated. The fact is, unless you had thousands of items in your Krustyland, and it was expanded over every single available square, EA has not only awarded us more than enough space in the form of Free Land Tiles, but also allowed us (or automatically stored), all of the items we had. Yes. It is a Pain In The A** (PITA), to find them all and replace them. But, people keep complaining how “boring” the game has become. Now you have plenty to do… Kind of like when your little sister upsets the 1,000 jigsaw puzzle you had laid out on the card table. You get the pleasure of doing it again. Right?
But, as I will share in my “Friday Filler,” (on Friday) there are huge advantages for those of us who truly play the game primarily so we can design creatively. The primary advantage being, that you aren’t limited by using JUST Krustyland items. You can mix and match…you can place food stands on the beach…you can add water, fountains, and any number of other decorations to make your design all that much better and more interesting. So DO IT. Make your “resurrected from the dead” Krustyland even better!

Water…Gondolas…adding to the design fun…
Turning your Shuttles Into Transporters
Again, as I have said in other posts, I love my transporters. I use them to “BLIP” around my town, when I am doing multiple tasks (clearing characters, while I clear actions in KL/ISLand, RailYard etc.). And now…the Krustyland Bus/Terminals behave the same way, but just within your own town. So…place them both!
Combined Parks or Side by Side?
I am starting to see my neighbors getting creative with how they are designing their amusement areas…and combining both Krustyland and Itchy and Scratchy Land items. I am choosing to do a side-by-side design…much the way that Disneyland and California Adventure Co-Exist. Once there is more to ISL (a racetrack and a studio do not an amusement park make), I will work a way to use a common walkway between the two parks.

Placing your Krustyland Monorail Station Where it Belongs!
I’ve had a Krustyland Station since it came out. But, now…it finally makes more sense. I had it in my main Springfield, near Krustylou studios. But now, it will be integrated into my park. However…One HUGE shortfall for placing monorail track. You currently can’t place it over Krustyland pathways or fences. Weird…but true.
Added Bonus…Krustyland Mystery Boxes
As you can tell by this screen shot, I hardly bought any of the Premium Items when I played/designed the first time through. Tooooooo expensive for someone who was playing “Cheapium,” But, low and behold…now that I am doing casual donut farming, I grabbed up ALL of these premium items, at just 65 donuts each. That is a HUGE savings from the original price. Sometimes, it DOES pay to wait!

YOU Control the Traffic Flow in the Parking Lot
I’m sure there are some of you who are going to say, “Duh!!” But, I saw enough comments about this to do a reminder. The New Parking Lots that we got for Krustyland allow you to add/delete/clear the cars, by simply tapping them. Each Parking Lot tile has three different options.

The DOWNSIDES OF PERMANENT CHANGES TO THE GAME
MOVING…Not as EAsy as they make it out to be…
One of the biggest issues people are facing in redesigning, is actually related to something EA did BEFORE they nuked Krustyland. I’m not really sure what advantage they thought was being added by allowing you to select, and move/store/sell huge areas of items, but then automatically selecting rivers, roads, etc. associated with that selected area…but, IT DOESN’T WORK WELL…at all.
Ever since they added this feature (which has been exacerbated by this event), when I go to select and sell my KEM cluster, everything freezes…for up to 45 seconds…with almost every action. What used to take me less than a minute, can now take as long as 7 minutes (depending on the length of each freeze between clicks). NOT GOOD. I have actually gone back to selecting, moving, selling, clearing each KEM individually. This ALSO happens when I try to move more than ONE of anything. As in more than one flower…more than one piece of track…more than one anything. So…for whatever reason, it is just faster to move one item at a time.
The Following Videos are placed here, just in case EA is actually following our posts more closely now that we are “friends.” FIX THIS PLEASE EA!!! I’ll Gladly give up my option to grab loads of water and roads…which I never wanted/needed in the first place!
Connecting the Dots…literally…with the Race Track
Finally, there are still loads of people reporting that they are having problems with the race track connections. It really is easy…and far easier than some of the brain damage we went through with the monorail. It’s as simple as connecting the dots. If the dots aren’t connected, it doesn’t turn green.
ITEM LIMITS!!!
Dammitall…I want a legitimate answer to why we still have Item limits. Yes…I get it. Your legacy code can only handle so much. And yet, you keep increasing them. Let US decide when the lagginess, or weird ghost figures are too much to deal with. If you want us to enjoy the design aspect of the game (which by the way, keeps us interested during the repetitive 4-grind-fests that these updates have become…KILL THE ITEM LIMITS!!!! From what I gather, there’s aren’t that many people who get the warnings. So…give us “super designers” a break! Raising them to the current 11,500 is a start. How about another few thousand??? Come on. Just do it…and I’ll stop talking about it!
SPOILER*****FINAL HEADS UP ON A BUNDLE DEAL COMING…Why You Should WAIT to buy Scractchy if you are spending real money…
If you are a donut farmer…ignore this. It doesn’t apply to you at all.
However, if you spend real money for your donuts- and are on the fence about spending 300 donuts to get Scratchy (which is waaaaay high for a single character and a half a building), There is a bit of a “Bonus” if you wait.
According to the files…on or around the 12th of June, There will be a REBATE BUNDLE offered on a truckload of donuts…that’s 300 donuts for $19.99. OUCH! However…on the 12th, you will get a Bonus Bundled Character (rumored to be Mawdy Spuckler). So…you will spend your money on 300 donuts, which will allow you to buy Scratchy and the Studio, and you will be given another full character. So…that’s 2 characters and a building for $19.99.
That is still price gouging to the max...but at least softens the blow. It also makes it clear why so many people (including myself) now donut farm . But…if I hear a single one of you donut farmers whining because you can’t get Mawdy Spuckler for your farmed donuts…please stop. Those who pay for the game with real money keep it going. Right?
OK…back to the 4-hour grinding (some things NEVER change)
Have fun. Designing is most of the fun… waiting for lag time? Not so much.

Any methods for getting the itchy scratchy and poochy mascots to stay in the park? Mine are wandering everywhere except the park.
Sorry,,,they have a mind of their own…
It would be great if they were re-coded to stay on the paths!
The gondola makes me sad. I accidentally left so much crafting currency “on the table” at the end of that event!
I do a Universal / Islands of Adventure type thing, side by side. With the parking lot and Krustyland Hotel in the middle. I also put the gift shop, tavern on the scream, and Scratchy’s Flea Dipper in I&S Land.
Oh, and sleeping itchy’s castle too.
So. I just started playing a month ago or so, and I have several quests that require me to go to Krustyland, which no longer exists. What am I supposed to do?
How do I get a second monorail tunnel? I can get my rail in to SH, but not out again.
Keep monorail farming, you will get the first tunnel, followed by 3 buildings and then the second tunnel, and then it’s all donut rewards from there
I’ve been doing that, but after the one tunnel it’s all been donuts for the last reward.
So about the KL mystery box: have any of those items gained a bonus percentage, or still just tickets?
They still earn what they originally earned.
Since some of us are mixing decorations from Nuked Krustyland and new decorations form Itchy and Scratchy land.
I think we need a new word to describe our combined lands. It’s not exactly Itchy and Scratchy land or Krustyland.
Spent a few minutes trying to combine Krustyland and Itchy and Scratchy land into one word
I.e Kruitchyland which sucks. Any other ideas?
KISland
Perfectly fine with EA dropping a bomb on Krustyland. My new land is starting to take shape slowly. A culmination of Krustyland and Itchy and Scratchy land. I’m working on the name..combination of names. Like Kruitchyland.. which sucks. I’ll get to that in next post.
Do you know if they will add the monorail stop for this update? I hope so I recently got into the monorail and have a whole system going.
As far as I know, no
Thanks
How do you know when you reach the item limit?
You get a warning first and then a notice saying you’re over the limit
The final warning is given at 11,350 but there are numerous warnings given before this every 250 or so items (I think). When you reach 11,600 you are not able to add any more.
Hmmm… why don’t I remember the Krustyland Monorail station? How did you get it?
From memory, I think it was a donut purchase… in that case you may need to wait until the item returns as a special purchase… would have been great if it was included in the mystery box for this event.
I’ve found that when selecting multiple items (I’m a Rat Trapper), it’s definitely quicker to first disable “ground items” (water, dirt, etc) and THEN fence what you want to move/remove.
I can adapt with the changes, but my only complaint is that the land increased. At the pace that we are now (3 land tokens per event), we are most likely to unlock land for the next six years lol
I can’t even access my Springfield. It has been 28 days and the only thing EA Help tells me is to stop bugging them. I used to play daily…
I’d like to hear more on that.
Patric, have you tried selling one line of KEMs at a time? I have mine all in one straight line, and can sell multiple stores at a time without a lag. Maybe it doesn’t like to do squares of buildings?
Nope. Mine freezes if I even try to grab more than one…two-ten-twenty…all behave same way.
Ok!! I’ve been watching Simpsons since I was a little girl and still watch it Monday-Sunday with the exception of Wednesday and Saturday on FX…. so who is Ms. Mouse?
She appears in an episode of Itchy and Scratchy in Season 9. Itchy throws Scratchy into a kiln and makes him into a glass ‘No Vacancy’ sign for a motel. You then see Itchy sitting in a pool at the motel alongside….Ms Mouse. I think, but I could be wrong, that the Simpsons episode is the one where Bart and Lisa present a news programme on Channel 6.
Thank you! You are spot on!! I actually remember that episode… I’m downloading it now to watch it again.
I’m definitely seeing the lag on my KEM farm, but not nearly as bad as you are having. I have roads separating my strips (you have water – don’t know if that makes a difference). I don’t get a lag when selecting, like you do, it’s just a little less responsive. My biggest lag time is after I sell and I click the checkbox or the X to clear the selection. I usually have to wait about 15 seconds or so after that.
I don’t know where I am in relation to the item limit. I’ve never gotten a warning, but I do have a pretty big town. I would guess that’s a contributing factor as well (not to make an excuse, just an explanation for the different experience for different users).
It also seems like the more KEMs selected at a time, the slower it is to respond.
My biggest regret is that I didn’t buy all the available Krustlyland land before nuking. I had plenty of tickets. I don’t like to read the event details before I’ve experienced it personally, so I didn’t come here until it was too late that day.
I wonder if the lags you guys are getting is because you have water and road strips that have to be seperated from the sale. I don’t have anything but kms on empty land and they group and sell in seconds.
Forgot to add if its a game issue they should stop the timer cuz I can rarely even get on.
Im sure you’ve heard this before but Im so frustrated by now. EVERYTIME I try to log in I get the Bart scene -several times. When Im lucky I will get in and cheer for a second…. until once again my game crashes and I HAVE to keep trying cuz most of the people are walking around not making money. 😄 but darn its been 4 hrs and Im ready to tap Barts little yellow head. Hard! Is anyone else having these issues …. along with all the other frustrating bugs now? ( I havent stayed updated lately sorry) Yeah Im so with you about the land or roads being choosen unintentionally. Grrrr. Dont like that change one bit…. I hope they fix things soon. Or if its just me I need to reduce my town items quick before I Quack!
Liking the design i ended up with after the initial confusion, still got plenty land left, and plenty still to buy, got 59 tokens left and over 1000 donuts, waiting on the Presidents, hating the lag so in the mean time my track is disabled, I agree the multiple item selection very annoying so 1 at a time were possible.
I get what you’re saying about the pleasure of re-designing KL, but I wouldn’t want to paint over the Mona Lisa, & I already had too many other paintings needing to be finished 😂
I’m probably more ticked that the item limit was not realistically raised to compensate for the decorative effect I had in my KL.
I’m still bored & don’t want to put too much time into decorating what I will inevitably be changing once these (better be), awesome, new ISL items are available.
One more comment. (I’ve already spent more time reading & responding to this post than I have on the game in the last 24 hrs). Even though some of us KEM/Rat Trap for free donuts, I know I’m not the only one who spent minimum $500-$1,000 to get to where we can do that. I do still buy donuts when they have a bonus added or are a good deal & family still buy me game store gift cards as a go-to gift 😂. (I had them trained). Sooooo, just remember that we supported this game all of these years to get to where we can still play today 😁😁😁
Well…yes…but unfortunately, your reasoning isn’t really sound. Think of this like going to the same theater year after year. While the price of admission is good for that day, even seeing 50 movies ove the years won’t be entitle you to seeing the newest release for free. Right?
The game continues to cost EA to support…so, dropping a few bucks once in a while is a good thing. I am going to guess that we will see more and more character/donut bundles in the future.
I like those, & don’t mind them once in a while. I get what you’re saying, but I look at it like this, how many times would you pay for a video game for a PS3, Nintendo, etc. ?
Actually…almost all of the big games have additional booster packs…or weapons packs that cost more money.
A lot of them do, I agree with that.
I want to see your town. wantcoffee99
GranmamaDar is my player name if you’d like to send me a friend request, I probably have a spot left.
Just don’t kick me off for that spot G-mama 😉 I always giggle when I see you’ve spraypainted something in my Springfield
NEVER! I think I still have the little furry one, hope springs eternal (not holding my breath though).
lol you probably can delete that account, hasn’t been used in 2 years
I have it hidden, but last time I checked it was well over a year & that’s been a while. I hope she’s doing well.
🤷♀️ lol
So true! I love the concept of having the two worlds in Springfield but not really inspired to put too much effort into decorating just yet… shall wait and see what else unfolds over the next few weeks. We don’t want to reach that dreaded item limit too quickly!
Yep, I already stored some items in preparation for this event. I do like the group storage for that.
Still so happy about the changes. It wouldn’t have bothered me if they left Krustyland for those that for some strange reason I’ll never understand liked it. All I ever wanted was the ability to put all those cool rides in my Springfield.
Place the monorail, then add the path.

The monorail tycoon…..

TRUE! Not my most impressive design – but …

Not my most impressive design, but proves your point.

oops…I didn’t do that right. Can I try that ONE more time, please? 😀
I might actually have an oddball glitch… I don’t seem to *have* a second shuttle, either in my inventory or in my Springfield.
I noticed at one point the game abruptly put what I believe was a parking lot in my hand, (so to speak) right after I had placed the highway… but I didn’t have a good place to put that at that moment so I cancelled out of placement mode. Then I couldn’t find that parking lot again, immediately after… could the two issues be related?
(Of course, it could just be a matter of figuring out where in the inventory some incorrectly categorized items are hiding, as usual…)
It is likely hiding. I had to reeeally search fir a handful of items from KL.
Wow… I’m terrible at follow-ups. 😉 I had actually tried several of the things suggested herein, but to no avail. Not thinking it mattered too much to me, I had decided to just put off dealing with it until after the event, at which time I reattempted the teleport-from-existing method again… and it worked as it was supposed to and let me place the other shuttle. So, ya know… all is well in the end.
There’s a new feature when pulling things from the inventory…when you place a tree, for example, and you have 3 in inventory, you can keep placing all 3, till you run out. Used to be, the game would then pop you out of placement mode and back into the inventory listings. Now it just tries to place a totally different item next, and you have to say “no thanks” by hitting the x. Not sure what dictates the choice of next item…similarity, alphabetics, or just next in the list, but that is why you suddenly had a parking lot to place when you hadn’t selected it. I placed some items today (to boost my XP for some RTT farming) and after I placed the Bart snowman, the game offered all the other snow people as well, so there must be some logic behind the choices it is making.
If you tap on your existing one it will tell you to place your second one and take you right to it in your storage.
That’s what i did.
click on your shuttle, when u click on the transport option the game will see you don’t have another shuttle to transport to and ask if u wish to take it out of storage – that is how I found it, I too lookes for ages and could not find it, but then I read on here (Safi I think?) someone say that this would work and it did! 🙂
I’ve started automatically “greying out” my land/roads/water whenever I start moving stuff or designing. It doesn’t totally get rid of the lag, but it certainly helps. I’m in agreement…I never wanted that particular feature and they could take it away tomorrow and I’d never miss it. Actually, most of the time, moving the ground tiles with the stuff causes the grouping not to fit in the new area…soooo…you have a lag when you originally highlight it, a lag when you “x” it, a delay while you delete all the ground tiles(including another lag unless you delete tile by tile), a lag when you highlight again and a final lag when you place the group. Meanwhile, both Lisa and Bart have gotten married and had kids of their own, and the rest of Springfield has aged into a decrepit wreck (ok, so – more of a decrepit wreck).
Please just get rid of this feature…you tried, it didn’t work…thanks, but no thanks.
PS Patric…love your new Krustyland entrance with the Monrail!👍😁
Thanks!
Having fun with the redesigning.
Exactly!
LOVE ur KL/ISL designs! WOW!!! just wow!
Thanks…it’s so fun mixing the KL stuff with the Springfield stuff…makes a whole new park!😁
Yes, greying out the land (concrete/paths/roads) helps when moving grouped items – seems to reduce the lag slightly. Unfortunately I keep forgetting to grey these out and end up trying to pick up unwanted roads.. oh well, I’ll learn to remember eventually!
Me too…just did it again today…a learning curve🤪🤪🤪.
I’m having terrible lag issues. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times it makes no difference. Really upset as this is my favorite game to play.
Anyone else with lag problems? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Once you put the track together for the questline, take it back apart. That will help most of your lag.
Thanks Patric. Nice article. I think you and I think alike. Must be an Oregonian thing. 😉. I’ve enjoyed this event immensely! BTW. You’re welcome for the Krusty monorail tip. 😜.
It’s been funny to read all of the postings from people who didn’t like visiting their old Krustyland’s, but were upset that it was nuked. Go figure. I couldn’t agree more with you about the design aspects of the game. I’ve been one of those people complaining about how boring the game has become. I welcome this opportunity to spend time redesigning my Krustyland and building a new I & S Land. I haven’t spent this much time on the game in a lonnnnnngggggg time.
In my mind, this is how the game should have been like all along. It never made any sense to have a separate Krustyland. There’s still a lot of content that can be mined from the tv show. I look forward to at least a few more years of playing this game.
Boom. Exactly!
Hey guys, I’m working this week so I can’t talk much. I just wish Krustyland visitors would stay on Krustyland path
As an alternative to those disinterested in KL or ISL, a lot of the games from KL are actually games from the episode “Bart Carny” so you can recreate the traveling carnival. Now we just need Cooder and Spud…and the Carny Code.
Which one is Mawdy Spuckler? ::googles::
