Itchy and Scratchy Land Act II Prize Guide – Prize #4 – Parade Train Bundle

Who doesn’t love a parade?  Nobody I’d want to hang out with…that’s for sure!   In fact, in the past month, Portland had their amazing Rose Festival Parade, which has been a tradition in Portland (the city of roses) since 1907.  And yes…for all of you snobby Pasadenians…yours was first (1890), and is the largest. But, ours is in Portland…which is a MUCH prettier city! (we have rivers along with our roses).

My high school band used to march in the parade every year. There is nothing like marching 7 miles…with a field drum banging the same spot on your leg…playing the same two songs…and a constant drum cadence (that you can still play today…because it is an ear worm that won’t ever go away), to make you remember a parade. Blisters…heat from the wool uniforms…and not getting to see the Princesses. But, we were performing, and won “Honor band” twice out of the three times I marched… but I digress.

What YOU care about is “What in the heck does a Parade Train Do????”

Itchy and Scratchy Land Act II Prize Guide – Prize #3 – Parade Roller Bundle

If you don’t really understand what a “Parade Roller” is…you need to watch the episode from which most of this stuff came. It is aptly named, “Itchy and Scratchy Land.” (S6E4)  There, as part of the festivities of ISland, they have a character parade (similar to the Parade of Lights at Disneyland). In it…they have a HUGE Steam Roller, that powers along, flattening characters in its path.

There are also several costumed characters of questionable integrity, including a bloody axe, and a stick of dynamite.  Cool for the kids?  Not so much….but this IS Itchy and Scratchy!

So LET THE PARADE BEGIN!!

Friday Filler – Of Lags, Limits, and Loops

Thank Grog It’s Firday!!

Ah…another Act is upon us, and another “Grindtastic Weekend” awaits!  Is it possible to stay on track to “get everything,” while still having a life? Yes. Yes it is…if you are smart about how you spend your time.  Most of the “grinding” these days is actually “Grinding Lite,” as the  critical stuff only takes a few seconds.

But, EA has continued to make things challenging, once you win items…in that with the item limit restrictions in place, some of us have to be pretty clever in how we maximize our bonuses. We need to have fun with the items that we win…without getting the dreaded, “YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR ITEM LIMIT…YOU SUCK!” message (I might have been paraphrasing there a bit…but it is the way it makes you feel).

Nonetheless, (don’t you love a word like “nonetheless?” It looks like a run-on mistake…but it really is a word! Like aforementioned, and heretofore…English is so weird sometimes), where were we? Oh. right…Nonetheless, there are ways to deal with the Lag Issue that some continue to face, as well as trying to figure out ways to maximize our bonus earnings while cramming everything into the “Bonus Blue” area for Itchy&ScratchyLand.

Let’s take a look at some solutions.

Itchy and Scratchy Land – Act II Calendar and Math

There’s no EAsy way to say this… It looks like another grindfest if you “want it all.”  The real question is, “Do you really want it all?”  The EAsy answer…OF COURSE YOU DO!! After all…we’re addicts…right?

So…while there may be a subtle message being delivered here to a-BORT! (Sorry…couldn’t help myself) by EA, the fact is, we are now deep into making Itchy & Scratchy Land – along with the newly revived KrustyLand (perhaps we should rename it “Lazarus Land” and combine it with Praise Land) the largest tract of land in our entire Springfields.   I’m starting to wonder if the designers are all adapting to the “Over 60” players, by making everything so big, you don’t need your reading glasses to place it.  But, I digress…

On to the number for GETTING IT ALL!

Turbo Tappin’ Itchy and Scratchy Land: Act 1 Premiums, Scratchy, Jeremy & Ms. Mouse

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s time to get amused in Springfield!  The latest event to hit our towns, Itchy and Scratchy Land, is in full force in our towns with a whole lot of twists and turns along the way!

Act 1 of the event brought a bunch of new premium characters to Springfield. Scratchy Jeremy and Ms. Mouse are the ones we were able to cover during Act 1 (there are more we’ll get to once Act 2 starts).  As with the vast majority of premium characters both of these characters came equipt with their own questlines.  So let’s take a look at the premium Turbo Tappin’ version of each….

Itchy and Scratchy Land – Act I Prize Guide – Prize 6- Diane

I have to admit it…I had to go deep into Google to figure out who the heck Diane was. And going Google Deep is a scary thing sometimes. You have to be careful how you search.  TSTO Diane can bring up all sorts of things that don’t make a lot of sense. Especially if you misspell TSTO. But, I digress…

Turns out the Diane is a “Big Wig” at Krustylu studios…or was. The WIKI tells us that, “She and the other executives wanted to cancel Krusty and replace it with Homer’s show. She is the one who fired Jeremy.  And everyone remembers Jeremy…right?

OK. Fine. Just be glad that you got her for free. Here’s the details on why she is not going to be breaking the glass ceiling any time soon.

Friday Filler – There’s Whole Lotta Ploppin’ Goin’ On!

Thank Grog It’s Firday!

I’m writing this early (Thursday) because I’m going to be on the road  Today (not actually today, but Friday…which is when you are reading this…so it’s still today, kinda…). I am heading out to a golf tournament/college reunion with a bunch of my old football team buddies (those who still remember playing before they started diagnosing CTE).  It should be a wonderful chance to roll out the traditional greeting for reunions, “You’re OLD!  No…YOU’RE Old!!

I’m old. I don’t mind admitting it. My white hair and creaky body (did I mention I played college football, and then rugby until I was 35?), reminds me every day. But, that doesn’t stop me from being active mentally…right?

And, as it pertains to TSTO…that means being active in the game…active in design…and resolving to keep powering through, no matter what the game throws our way! Unless it makes us grind to a dead halt…which I’ll talk about later.

This whole “KrustyItchyScratchyLand (or KISLand as one of our community suggested) Post Nuke Era,” has people clearly divided into two camps. Those who have attacked the opportunity to put on their Uber-Design-Hats, and those who seemingly have been rendered immobile by the overwhelming possibilities.

It has created a reality of “Designers – vs – Ploppers.”  And there is a Whole Lotta Ploppin’ Goin’ On!

Itchy and Scratchy Land- Prize Guide- Act 1 – Prize 3- Nurse’s Station

OK. I get it. As much as Itchy and Scratchy shred one another (apparently, because the HAVE to), they probably need a Nurse around full time.

But, I have to say it…this “Nurses Station” looks a heck of a lot like one of the canal houses we got in the last major event. As in A LOT. Paint it a different color….slap a mini-portrait of the boys doing mayhem to one another…and BOOM! Canal house is a Nurses Station.

But, I’m sure some of you are going to want it. In fact…some of you are going to want more than one!  Right??

Here are the details on Prize #3- the Nurses Station.

Tips On Surviving the “New Era of TSTO” After Krustyland

I believe my prediction for this major event was, “it’s gonna be a game-changer.”  Like calling something “interesting,” the term “game-changer” can mean almost anything…good or bad.  And in my opinion, that pretty much covers it. This is some good, with a handful of bad thrown in.

Let’s start with the fact that most people don’t like change. Moving, a death in the family, changing jobs…these all sit at the top of the “stress meter” when it comes to adjusting in life. And in many ways, nuking Krustyland, along with the myriad little changes that came with it, were a combination of all of these. There is was certainly death. There was the stress of packing up and moving. And, there are myriad new jobs, and ways of dealing with old jobs, that have been forced upon us.

All of this requires adjustments…even if some of the new changes are ultimately for the better. And, there are a couple of them that are clear improvements over the “old way.”

Let’s break down some tips that will help you maneuver the changes, without losing your collective minds.
