Should I Spend Donuts On the Marge Sculpture Garden and Young Artie?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Grab your Santa hats and break out the tinsel because it’s Christmas time in Springfield! Yes the annual TSTO Christmas event has arrived in our pocket-sized towns, covering our usual perfect weather towns with a fresh blanket of bright, white, snow!   Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Marge Sculpture Garden and Young Artie to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this flashback combo to your town…

Christmas 2018: Turbo Tappin’ Week 3, Paramours of Christmas Past

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Grab your Santa hats and break out the tinsel because it’s Christmas time in Springfield! Yes the annual TSTO Christmas event has arrived in our pocket-sized towns, covering our usual perfect weather towns with a fresh blanket of bright, white, snow!

While the Christmas event, and snow, are annual the structure of this event is anything but!  This is the first major event in Springfield that’s structured like a mini-event.  Christmas consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the Simpsons Christmas Special!

For Act 3 we’re tasked with following Marge’s Hallmark Christmas story…all about a young woman who travels home for Christmas to be reunited with a love from her past.  Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for Marge’s story.  So let’s take a look at the details behind Week 3 and the Turbo Tappin’ Version for Marge’s Christmas Story…

So please, stop asking.

Thank you!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast which means it’s officially time to start Act 3 (week 3) of A Simpsons Christmas Special!

Now if you remember, week 2 ended with Marge declaring it was her turn to tell a story…because everyone loves a good romance!

Christmas is Canceled Pt. 4
Auto starts

Homer: *slow clap* Wow! What a story! I never could have predicted Officer Savage was a bad guy.
Lisa: That’s my point. There was nothing prior to the big reveal to indicate, however subtly, that–
Bart: Face it, Lisa. The public loved my story. And the ignorant masses are never wrong about these things.
Marge: I don’t know, that story was a little violent for me. There were so many car chases and explosions!
Homer: The bedrock of any great story is car chases and explosions. Aristotle said that.
Marge: What about a good romance? Everyone loves love.
Homer: The trick is to find the right amount of nudity. Brief enough that it doesn’t damage the children, but long enough that I give a damn.

(Please don’t ask me about this dialogue.  This dialogue is what appears when you FINISH the week 2 questline.  It does not appear when week 3 starts.  So if you finished week 2 you already saw this, if you didn’t finish week 2 you didn’t see it yet and if you just finished week 2 seconds before week 3 hit you’ll see it…)

And now, here’s the kick off dialogue you’ll see this morning (and a look at what’s in store for Act 3)

Christmas 2018 Week 3 Is About to Start

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow morning, Wednesday, December 19th, Week 3 (Act 3) of Christmas will be starting.  The official start time is 10am ET (1500 GMT).

While the Week 2 (and week 1) questline won’t be going anywhere, so if you haven’t finished the prizes you’ll have a chance to complete it even after Week 3 starts, some of the premium items will be leaving the store.

So if you planned to purchase Young Marge, Young Barney or Don  (SIBs linked) do so before they leave our games tomorrow morning.

Also, here’s some inside info to help you prepare for Week 3 to start…

As we know Marge will be telling the story during Week 3.  Characters needed for week 3 tasks are:
Homer
Lisa
Bart
Marge
Grampa
Maggie
Luigi
Rev. Lovejoy
Moe
Quimby
Smithers
Young Marge

There will also be two new premium characters introduced during week 2, both of those characters will be able to help with the currency earning.  (350 donuts will be needed if you’d like to purchase both characters)

And that’s it my friends!  Be prepared for Week 3 to start up tomorrow morning!

Thoughts on week 2?  Ready for week 3?  Excited to see where Marge takes the story?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Christmas 2018 Prize Guide: Act 2, Prizes 4 and 5 the Snow Mobile and Truck Stop Diner

Ho Ho Ho Holiday Tappers!

Bust out the tinsel and be sure to hang those stockings by the chimney with care because Christmas time is in the air! That’s right my friends, Christmas (and snow, lots and lots of snow) has hit our pocket-sized towns!

This year EA is trying something different, as I’ve laid out in this post, in that Christmas 2018 consists of multi-events.  Basically, the Simpson family will host four stories to be told over the course of December with a new story releasing each week.  As we’re taken through each story a series of prizes are released to correspond with the theme of the story.  For Week 2, Act 2, we’re following a Buddy Cop tale by Bart, and the prizes we unlock all fit into the snow theme.

So let’s take a look at the last two prizes this week, the Snow Mobile and Truck Stop Diner…

Showoff Announcement: Christmas 2018

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time…calling all Springfield designs of holiday/wintery Proportions!  We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff featuring your Christmas/Holiday/Winter inspired designs!  So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

While we’re still nearly 2 weeks away from the end of the Christmas Event, we’re right up against a holiday week…so I wanted to give y’all PLENTY of time to work on your designs for the next showoff…because it’s always so helpful to see what others have done with all this new stuff!   So send us your Christmas/Holiday/Winter inspired designs and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post, featuring your designs, on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019…so you’ve got nearly 2 weeks, plus TWO holidays (Christmas & New Year’s) AND 2 weekends to prep your towns.  Take your time and design as you see fit! 🙂

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm EDT Tuesday, January 1st, 2019.  Can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

Do you want to be featured on the next Springfield Showoff?  Post your images  in the Comments below or email us your screenshots at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see YOUR designs! (Need help with images, just ask.)
