In-Game Update: Hot Diggity D’oh!

Posted on March 23, 2022 by Alissa | 52 comments

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Yesterday, an app store update hit our games to remove the Cirque du Springfield Event (change the splash screen back to normal). And, today a brand-new mini-event started up in our towns! (as long as you’ve downloaded the update)

You’ll need Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa free for 6s tasks to get things started with this event. (there are 2 parts to the first “kick off” questline…and a series of 6s tasks for Homer and Marge in Part 1 and all 4 in part 2)

This mini-event ends, in 2 weeks, on April 6th.

More details below the fold…

Update Available in App Store: Hot Diggity D’oh

Posted on March 22, 2022 by Alissa | 29 comments

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Updated with characters to keep free below the fold.

A new update is on the horizon! In fact…it’s available right now in your app store! (full disclosure, this hit the app stores a couple of hours ago I just wasn’t home to write up a post)

If you don’t see it in your list of available updates, you may need to search Tapped Out in your app store.

So what’s in store with this new update? It’s called Hog Diggity D’oh!

As is our policy with updates where we don’t get info directly from EA in advance, we won’t share detailed spoilers on this event. However, I can tell you this is a mini-event and it starts tomorrow, March 23rd, and runs until April 6th. And here’s a couple of “spoilers” from directly within the game… Continue reading →

And Now For Something A Little Different…

Posted on March 22, 2022 by Alissa | 4 comments

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

While we wait for something new to hit TSTO, I wanted to do something a little different. As you know this site has been in existence since 2013 and in that time I’ve always shied away from asking you guys for anything except your readership here, maybe your viewership on YouTube, and your enjoyment of this site and the community. But now I’m going to ask for your help…not for me, but for the Little Addict…Riley.

Her school is having their BIG Fundraiser of the year, it’s a fitness challenge where each student is challenged to exercise more and get moving! Her school’s goal is to exercise 100,000+ Minutes throughout the month of April and to raise money while doing it! The school’s goal is to raise $30,000, all of which goes right back into her school (which she LOVES) so it can continue to offer exceptional education!

Listen, I hate fundraising I really do. But Riley absolutely LOVES her school, and it’s been amazing for her in her academic development. And when I found out they have a pretty significant shortfall each year in their budget it of course made me do what I could to help close that shortfall. So, if you’re so inclined and able to do so…please consider donating to help Riley reach her personal Fundraising goal…and to help her be the #1 Fundraiser in her school!

You can donate directly to help Riley by scanning this QR Code…

Or by visiting her Fundraising Webpage here.

And I realize not everyone is able to make a donation and that’s ok. For those that aren’t able to make a donation, but still want to help, I plan to donate 100% of the monies made from this site from now until April 30th to her school. So if you want to help please turn off any adblockers you may have on and visit this site multiple times a day from now until April 30th so we can maximize the final donation!

Thanks in advance! And now back to waiting for the next update!

-Alissa

P.S. I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I just ask that you be respectful and follow Thumper’s advice and if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. 🙂

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

Some things you may have missed this week around the Addicts Site:

ICYMI Addicts Live was back this week with a brand new episode! Safi and I wrapped up the Cirque du Springfield and talked about what might be next in TSTO. You can check out the episode here.

The Simpsons are back tonight with an all-new episode. What will happen in the new episode? Will you be watching?

Cirque du Springfield is officially over, and hopefully we’ll have something new in TSTO this week. Thoughts on what we might see next? (should be a mini-event)

How’s your Springfield design coming? What are you doing with your town? Share some photos in the comments below! (If you need a refresher on how to add photos to the comments check out this post)

Any weekend excitement going on in your neck of the woods? Have anything fun planned?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well) Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun! And happy Sunday!

Hey Addicts, Caption This!

Posted on March 18, 2022 by Alissa | 8 comments

Sometimes days get away from you, today was one of those days. I meant to post this this morning… sorry about that!

Sometimes TSTO gives us humorous little moments when we capture our characters doing rather strange things. These posts are all about those strange and funny moments!

When we can, we’ll be posting a “Caption This!” moment where we want you, the Addicts readers, to put on your writing caps and come up with what you think is happening in the screenshot. Post your captions in the comments below. We can’t wait to see how creative and funny you guys can be!

Hey Addicts… Caption This!

This Caption This! image is brought to us by ThomasK…

So go ahead and caption away!

If you’ve got an image you’d like to submit for a “Caption this!” post, email it to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com you never know when yours might be next!

As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we sometimes find ourselves forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. From time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU.

So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in-game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small, and brag about it to the world. We want you to! Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.
