Another Event has hit our games, which means it’s time for another calendar. THOH XXXIV, Act 1 hit our games yesterday.
Here is a basic calendar to keep track of the currency needed to unlock all 5 items.
As Graham so clearly laid out in the Rundown post, the following 5 prizes are available in Act 1:
Xylem and Pod Patch Bundle (Character and Decoration) if you don’t already have them, or Mystery Box Token if you do– The Horror Happening Pt. 1 and 115 
Alien Portal Device (Decoration)- The Horror Happening Pt. 2 and 155 
Alien Pod Field (Decoration)- The Horror Happening Pt. 3 and 155 
Alien Flora Bundle (Decorations Bundle)- The Horror Happening Pt. 4 and 155 
Monster Treehouse (Skin for Bart’s Treehouse)- The Horror Happening Pt. 5 and 195
So in order to unlock all 5 prizes, you need to earn 775 . That comes out to 86.1 per day.

I was not offered Xylem, though I do not have the character. I do have the pod patch, though. Is there going to be a way to get Xylem separately?

Is it just me, or is the game requiring an update on every log in for everyone?

I got a mystery box token – obviously, shown as a “broken dreams” one – and since the mystery box didn’t show up, I got 12 donuts.
But I don’t actually have Xylem or the pod patch bundle. Xylem’s not in my Town Census. And only Homer gets sent for Part 2.
Xylem was only in-game for a few days back in 2018, but the Pod Patch was back a few months ago.
I write this 10/5/23, 10:30 at night. My game won’t open. I have the main page, with Homer sitting there eating popcorn, and all I get is the spinning donut in the bottom right hand corner. It’s been like this for a couple three days now. I’m in Arizona. Any suggestions.

i had a question though? I already have the alien plant pods so I just got the mystery box token. but I don’t have xylem? and i thought i would unlock him then but i didn’t? i’m wondering if you guys might know of a work around or something?

I’ve got 3 games on 3 devices and just now had all 3 running.
The one on my Kindle is usually always running, unless Bart strikes and it needs restarted.
Of the other 2 I just fired ’em both up to do the last 4 hour tap of the night.
My phone was fine but the tablet got Bart, one retry then Kill and Restart as I posted in the tips and done.
There’s no Mystery Box to spend the Mystery Box token. 🤷🏻♂️
That means you already have what’s in there and should be offered a trade for a dozen Donuts
Seems that the game server in our area is not letting the game load.. I know its not my device as there are a few others with the same issue. This started around 1:30 am MDT it’s now almost 12 hours later and still can’t get into the game.
Has there been any statement from EA about any outages?
Nothing reported and Downdetector for the US not showing issues for EA or Tapped Out.

I tried all the things you suggested in the link.. nothing worked.. so I just deleted the app and reinstalled it. After it fully installed it was still a bit glitchy.. but the game opened and I was able to play..
So I guess the end result is.. reinstall the app to get the game going again.

One other way is if you have an old device or can borrow one. It doesn’t need to be good enough to tap on as long as it doesn’t crash when you log in.
Fire that up and it gives you the Your Other Device warning. When you see that go and re-load the game on your preferred device and tap past it to Play Anyway / Continue or whatever the option on the Red buttons are to get going.
Make sure to shut down the game on the old device when you get the game started !!
Same here. Have not been able to load the game since 9am EDT Thursday.

AFIK all the servers are running just fine
It’s likely your game is stuck in a Bart Loop or you have a bad Internet connection
This may have been covered, but I didn’t notice it…My prize track shows a shows a shattered dreams token as the first prize, but I actually got a mystery box token. Both are not very helpful, but I guess I’d rather have the shattered dreams token rather than a mystery box token worth 12 donuts. Either way…I haven’t had a shattered dreams box with any unique items for a long time anyway..but at least they carry over and may become useful at some point…
Mentioned it in one of the posts – they just picked the wrong image for a regular event box token like the image I used or the ones used in the Store if you have that option.
I must have missed it..my bad. Thanks though. Also I forgot to add a postscript to my last comment…remember people..there are no bad dogs..just bad owners.
