Diary of a Wookiee… a little culture for your wait

Hey everyone!  Wookiee popping in to say hey while we all wait in limbo hoping for the Valentine’s Day event or Level 39 or just something to break the monotony.  Like most things in life, waiting sucks.  It’s no fun to wait in line at the DMV as Patty and Selma slack off or to wait in line in Krustyland only to find out no one was in front of you in the first place.  Seriously, why are the cues so long if nobody’s in the park?  I think we all can agree that no one likes the waiting game.

With that in mind, I keep seeing people all over the blogosphere wondering when the wait will be over and the truth is, no one knows.  We all are at the mercy of EA and until they leak info in the files or an actual update drops, there’s no info. No matter how many times Bart asks if we’re there yet, we’ll get there when we get there.  Always a good idea for Bart not to show up in our game anyways.

For no other reason than my craziness and love of musical theater, I thought I’d share some song lyrics that I think sums up the wait for new content. It is the song “Something’s coming” and is from West Side Story.  If I’ve completely lost it, you can blame candiekidz.  Her comment sparked this insanity.  I should also place some blame on my little Ewok’s drama teacher who chose this for the Spring Musical.

From wikipedia: “West Side Story is an American musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and conception and choreography by Jerome Robbins. It was inspired by William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet.”

Hope you enjoy it.  You can also see a clip from the 1961 film over on YouTube if you’re so inclined… (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu7sRdRrm_w)

Could be!
Who knows?
There’s something due any day;
I will know right away,
Soon as it shows.
It may come cannonballing down through the sky,
Gleam in its eye,
Bright as a rose!

Who knows?
It’s only just out of reach,
Down the block, on a beach,
Under a tree.
I got a feeling there’s a miracle due,
Gonna come true,
Coming to me!

Could it be? Yes, it could.
Something’s coming, something good,
If I can wait!
Something’s coming, I don’t know what it is,
But it is
Gonna be great!

With a click, with a shock,
Phone’ll jingle, door’ll knock,
Open the latch!
Something’s coming, don’t know when, but it’s soon;
Catch the moon,
One-handed catch!

Around the corner,
Or whistling down the river,
Come on, deliver
To me!
Will it be? Yes, it will.
Maybe just by holding still,
It’ll be there!

Come on, something, come on in, don’t be shy,
Meet a guy,
Pull up a chair!
The air is humming,
And something great is coming!
Who knows?
It’s only just out of reach,
Down the block, on a beach,
Maybe tonight . . .

Let’s all listen to Tony (no he is not the same person you may be thinking of). Something’s coming, we promise. Now for the promise that it’s gonna be great, that’s up to you.  I haven’t developed the power to shape popular opinion yet.  I leave that to the megalomaniacs of the blogosphere.  Let’s hope the wait is over soon but until then, what madness you get up to while trying to fill your void time is completely up to you. I found some interesting ways to bide my time just a short while ago.  Have you submitted a poem for our contest yet?  Got a musical you’re dying to quote from or a popular literary reference?  ANy one know why William Blake makes my head hurt?

Well, I hope the update is coming soon to a tapped out device near you.  Y’all stay classy.  TTFN… Wookiee out!

P.S.  This whole post may be the complete fault of my college professors hurting my tender brain with Romantic literature and Humanist movements.
