Valentine’s and the Conform-O-Meter

Update February 2015: The Valentine’s Day Event for 2015 added one new item and a bunch of returning items.  The one new item was the Animatronic Bears, and to see how they impact the Conform-O-Meter check out the details on them here.

For all of the other returning Valentine’s Day items, check out the rest of the post below.

Can you feeelll the Loooovveee Tonight….ok ok I’ll stop singing!  No one needs to hear it, not even me.  But Love is in the air in Springfield as our games went from the Duff fun of the Super Bowl to the lovey dovey ways of Valentine’s Day.  With new buildings and A LOT of new decorations introduced with the update I thought now would be the perfect time to share with my favorite Addicted Tappers just how these new items will impact your Conform-o-Meter rating.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Valentine’s event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, level 38 did though, it did bring us a ton of new items to add to our Springfield.  Let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating:

  1. Oops. Nevermind, I didn’t notice that new burning bush.

  2. The I choo choo choose you train gives a 2.75% multiplier.

  3. What about the Bonus Ratings? Which items give you a bonus and how much? The 2 that you can see (Whale @ 7% and Cozy Hammock @ 2%), but what about the ones you can win from the wheel?

    • We usually post the bonus % on the should I buy posts….but in this case it’s a little different because you’ve got items that are free. So i’ll be doing a post on this soon.
But for most of the Valentine’s Day items there is no bonus % earned. They’re treated as free items in the game, like items you’d spend cash on, and therefore do not award a bonus %. Despite the holiday wheel for Christmas having items that earned bonus % ratings (ice sculpture, snowmen) Valentine’s day does not award a bonus. Here’s a comparison from the files of the Lovely Gazebo and the Whale. You’ll see that the whale has Bonus indicated (i’ve highlighted it for you) where the Gazebo does not show a bonus in the coding.
However the items from last year that returned this year on the wheel that cost donuts last year do award bonus % rates. They’re still coded in the files from last year, because Tappers paid donuts for them last year. So the Train earns 2.25% and the pond earns .75%. Those are the only 2 items on the wheel that will award a bonus rate. 🙂 Hope that helps!

  4. I was at 5 stars after the last MAJOR update and level 38 update. But with this valentines update, my consumerism is back down to 4 1/2. Are we sure they didnt bump up the requirements?

  5. I still need more buildings with consumerism. Am I forever stuck with 6 qwikEmarts? I was 5 stars before the latest event (S.A.D), and even with Howard’s Flowers I have to keep all 6. It’s an eyesore.

    • If you were at 5 stars before with 6 Kwik-E-Mart’s and then purchased Howard’s Flowers you should be able to eliminate a Kwik-E-Mart. Each is worth 10 points so they should cancel each other out.

  6. Sorry if I’m posting in the wrong area. I need help. I have a few neighbours who havent updated to the vday special. I’m losing out on hearts. Should I continue to wait, hoping they would eventually update or remove them from my friends list and get better ones?

    • I would wait just a couple more days. I know a lot of people are having problems with getting into the game right now. If by Wednesday they’re still not active I would check to see when the last time they played is (you can use this post to find out how to check that). If they haven’t logged on in over 2 weeks I would say they’re inactive, but if it looks like they were active up until just before Valentine’s Day they may just be having a problem accessing their game and you may want to keep them.
      Hope that helps! 🙂
