It’s a bummer it’s not donuts but still a pretty decent gift. It does award a 2.25% bonus multiplier on all cash and XP..not to shabby.
Update: We’ve heard from Peter in the comments below that this will clear the wheel for you if you have yet to unlock the train. So if you’ve been struggling to get that last item, and if that last item was the train, this gift from EA will also unlock the Tunnel of Love for you. Well that makes it at least a little better. 🙂

The train was the only thing I wanted from the wheel, so I’m happy! Now if only I could sell all those birdbaths I have.. guess they’ll just hang out in my inventory 😀
I’m a little gutted that i was the train as i had one from last year and had landed on it on the wheel too. But hey, cant say no to free stuff from EA 😀

The train was my last needed item from. The wheel as well, and I wasn’t having any luck even after multiple tries of strategically placing the wheel. So happy to find out that I basically got two gifts from EA today! Happy Valentine’s/SAD to you all, and thanks so much for all of your hard work on the site!

I’m gald it helped some people clear the wheel, but I’ve always found the face on the train a little bit creepy.

So I have become an addict without even realizing it. I am here a few times a day, it’s insane. I love you guys, you all seem very genuine and sweet. Can you explain the multipliers thing to me? I have 2 trains now, and everything else on the wheel. I don’t understand how it works tho? So instead of a character doing a job and earning the money and XP it says, I will get more? Silly questions Im sure, but my brain is frozen from the snow!

Happy to explain. Basically how it works out is this…say you earn 100$ and 10XP on a quest. With a multiplier you will earn the amounts plus that additional % on top. (So a 2% will give you 20$ more and 2XP more). The cool thing about this is you can keep stacking up on bonus multipliers. That is why you want to leave them out somewhere in your town as they will NOT earn that extra for you if you store them. They must be placed in your town. (You can hide them behind a wall or building if you do not want to have to look at them.
In the end, this helps a LOT to earn money and XP that much faster. Just think if you earn $100 then times it by a 150% MORE on top of that bonus. Pretty cool. 😉
My money was on the cozy hammock, after the fireworks in July and wailing wall in October…
Guess all those extra trains will be strategically hiding in the shadows of a building or two!

I was thinking to built my own train through the town, but couldn’t find things being good enough to look like a track. The coffee, peanuts etc. stand make a satisfying addition as waggons though.
I’ve seen squidport benches and fences used which look cool. Wailing walls as tunnels, cobblestons fences used to make loading platforms, even flowers and shrubs to make a circular track.
Happy Valentines Day everybody! Although I already had multiple trains & would have loved something not from the wheel, I’m happy it completed the wheel for a lot of you (& it is great that it gives the 2.75 bonus).

When I first saw the valentines day message I was hoping they had actually made a way for us to gift donuts. I would have loved to give a few out to friends!

It was probably a bigger letdown because the dialog leading up to it made it sound like it was going to be great. Free is good and all, but for those of us who have already had the train for a year, it’s pretty ho-hum. Would have rather seen a unique item instead. Well, congratulations to those for whom it finished off the wheel. Now it’s time to re do my Love Park section of Springfield.
I agree. I was really excited and hoping for donuts with that donut line. Oh well….
Kind of bummed. I see how it helps others, but I really missed the special individual or community gifts like Christmas (the first “event” I ever played), and was hoping for an exclusive v-day gift. I got the train on my 3rd wheel spin, the first or second day of the event.
I miss the community gifts too, but I think because this is a shorter event they couldn’t do those. However, Whacking Day should be coming soon…so that may be a prime opportunity for more Community and Individual prizes 🙂

Hi Alissa, will the Valentines Day event finish today 14 February 2014 or will it drag a little?
The event itself is scheduled to end on 2/25/14, so you have a few more days. However, the free event from today is slated to end at 3:00am EST on 2/15/14. However, there is another line in the coding that shows a 2nd chance for something (it says late unlock) on the 20th. 🙂

Iv’ now got a 4th train & it’s only giving me the standard 2.25% even with all the trains out. Must only be calculating the 1st & not any additional Choo Choos. 🙁
Are you sure it’s only giving you 2.25%? What method are you using to specifically calculate what you’re earning from the train?
I play Android version. When you tap on the stars it shows Bonus money & XP @ 4.5% am i looking in the wrong area?
That’s your conform-o-meter bonus. That’s the bonus you earn for buying buildings to create a 5-star town. To calculate your premium bonus rate follow the steps on this post here. 🙂

I have a veritable fleet of trains now. Still spinning for the flower cart, though. I was crossing my fingers for a Gil special, but I suppose they could have done less. I put a couple of these trains out in front of the mental hospital. I like to imagine the staff pretending they aren’t there to mess with the crazies.

Oh goody, oh goody, oh goody! Thanks you EA for listening to all of your TSTO fans that had WEEKS AND WEEKS of spins to clear one stinking item from the Christmas wheel ( a.k.a. That friggin’ frakkin’ ClausCo) and never could. The train was the last thing I needed and it’s-a-makin’-a-me-a-so-happy that it unlocked the tunnel of love also.
