The not so secret society of the Stonecutters are here at last! Anyone else have the Stonecutter’s song stuck in their head?! And naturally with any new event there are LOADS of questions that come with it…..especially for one this intricate!
I’ve been noticing a few questions popping up in the comments of some posts and, while we try to answer each one individually, I thought everyone could benefit from the answers to these questions. So it’s time for another addition of Addicts Question Corner….
Where’s the Nighthawk Diner? I thought that was going to be in this update? You said it would be!
First off…we NEVER posted (check any and all of our posts) that Nighthawk would be making a comeback in this update. Just about every other TSTO site posted it would, but we didn’t. And there’s a reason for it….the same reason why we don’t post spoilers (unless EA releases them). You can see SO many things in the files & never know how it’s going to hit the game, until it hits the game. For example…Satan’s Anvil has been in the game files FOREVER and is just now hitting our games. For that reason, we don’t post things until we can verify them in the game because we don’t want to mislead you guys.
Here’s the deal with the Diner…..it’s not in the game for purchase again. Not yet anyway. Right now if you didn’t unlock Rex and the Diner last year during the July 4th Event you can’t get them. That’s not to say they might not appear in the game at some point during the Stonecutters Event…they could very well show up at the end (July 2nd) which would make sense because it’s on par with July 4th again. But as of right now…it’s not in the games for purchase. (I’ve verified this on my C game that I just created 3 months ago, and many of you have commented that you don’t see it in your game).
Where are my robed figures?!
Many of you are reporting that you don’t see robed figures in your Springfield’s and want to know what’s the deal. Well the deal is…to robed figures appear after a prompt/quest from Number 1. The questline is Quash Those Who Trespass Against Us, and Number 1 will start it.
This quest will NOT appear for you until after sometime between the time when you’ve collected from 5 houses (Part 3 of Game of Stones), Sent Lisa to Look for Clues (Part 1 of The Secret of the Cut Stone) and started Number 1’s Daily Task (Part 4 of Game of Stones). It’s slightly different for everyone, but somewhere in there that quest will start.
Once it starts you will have 6 figures appear in your town all at once. This only happens the first time and for that quest. Once you’ve cleared those 6 figures then the counter/spawn time starts. At this point you will get 1 robed figure every hr in your town, with a max of 6 in your town at once. There is no bank, so they won’t store up for you after that 6 max. And you’ll earn 4 emblems for everyone you squash.
Also, note that the robed figures are spies. So they’re sneaky and quick. They run around your town and disappear and reappear, so they may be hard to spot and catch. When you’ve collected all that are in your town you’ll get a popup that says you’ve cleared them for now:
When do Number 1’s Tasks Reset for Each Day? How About the Sacred Parchment Tasks?
Number 1’s Daily Tasks reset each day at midnight in YOUR timezone (so if you’re in PST it’s midnight your time, EST midnight your time etc). The Sacred Parchment Tasks reset each day at 8:00GMT, or 4:00am EST.
If You Miss A Day Do the Tasks Add Up?
Number 1’s Daily tasks do not. You must complete those tasks in a 24hr period to earn the full bonus each day.
However, the Sacred Parchment Tasks do. Those can build up for you, so if you miss a day you’re still good. It’s just that a new one will unlock each day, and you can’t speed up the unlock rate.
Will I Still Earn Skins for Characters I Don’t Yet Have? (Premium or higher level Characters)
Yes. The good news is the skins, once you’ve unlocked them, will stay in your Inventory until you’ve unlocked or purchased the character. In my C game I haven’t yet unlocked Moe, so his Stonecutter Skin is waiting in my inventory until Moe Arrives in my Springfield. This will also happen with Premium Characters you don’t yet own:
Why Does it Say Earning 0 Emblems for the Next 0 Friend Actions?
You’re limited to 60 friend actions per day that will earn you emblems, so 60 total emblems from friends every 24hrs. (Results of visiting 20 friends and tapping 3 items per town) However, IF you’ve completed any friend actions prior to the spying update hit your town and that clock as not yet reset (so still on countdown from 24hrs) THOSE actions count against your total.
In other words if you visited 5 friends prior to enabling spying on your neighbors and collected from their towns, so 15 actions, those 15 actions count AGAINST your 60 total actions per day. And once that clock resets on those towns you’ll be able to earn tokens again.
So basically…tap wisely. If a friend hasn’t updated their town yet (the emblems over their town in your main Springfield neighbor screen will reader higher than 0), skip their town for now and move on. DON’T tap piles of money, cash registers, $, or check books or anything else. ONLY tap Spy Cameras.
Should I Still Spy Neighbor’s Towns Even if I’m not Earning Emblems?
YES! Spend the time helping your neighbors out. Remember they earn emblems for unspying their buildings…so go through your whole list and spy on their Springfields. You’ll still earn money and XP (and FP if you’re still collecting) and it’ll help them out. In turn this could help you out, if your neighbors do the same for you!
Can I Spy in Krustyland?
Yes. Be sure to keep an eye on your Krustyland to unspy buildings there too!
Can I Collect My Income From my Buildings? Or Does the Income Need to Be Active For Friends to Have Something to Tap?
You absolutely can tap your buildings to collect your cash and XP from them. Whether or not your buildings have income over them is completely independent of a neighbor being able to spy on that building. So collect your income and boost your bank account!
The key to having a neighbor having something to tap in your town is to make sure you unspy buildings when the pyramid is over them. The faster you do this the faster the buildings become available for someone else to spy on them AND the more emblems you earn! (5 emblems if you tap a building within the first 2hrs of it becoming spied on…then you lose 1 emblem for each additional hour. 1 emblem is the minimum…so you’ll always earn something)
Why Did I Randomly Get Donuts?
Some Tappers are reporting free random donuts at the start of Stonecutters. Don’t question it…just go with it 🙂 We’ll have a post on this up soon…
Does the Daycare Center Have Tasks Associated With It?
Yes, many of the Stonecutters have a task that says Run the Stonecutter Daycare.
Do Neighbor’s Buildings Only Award 1 Emblem when Spied On?
Yes and no. Here’s the deal….ALL neighbor’s buildings (if you still have tasks left) earn 1 Emblem…EXCEPT The Stonecutter’s Lodge. If you spy on the Lodge you’ll earn 5 Emblems!
This is a great thing to tap…HOWEVER make sure you clear yours often in your own town. Also, if you’re out of actions for the day (ie it says you’ll receive 0 Emblems for the next 0 Friend actions) do your fellow Tappers and Don’t Tap the Lodge! Save it for someone who still will earn emblems.
Where Can I Find Everything You’ve Posted For the Event?
Check out our Stonecutters Event Page here. That’s where you’ll find the info posted. I do try to update it at least once a day, if not more. I know sometimes I don’t update it fast enough for Cguy….BUT I try to keep it as updated as my time allows.
Where Can I Add Friends for the Event?
Check out our Add Friends Feeds. Currently this is the ONLY place where your friend requests will be approved. If we see them on any other posts we will delete them…although occasionally 1 slips through, but as soon as it’s spotted it’s deleted. So try to keep your Friend Requests to those feeds.
What Happens If I Have More Questions?
Just ask…we’re always happy to help in any/every way we can! You can post your questions here or on the specific thread, we’ll see them. 🙂 Just keep in mind…if your comment isn’t approved it might be because we’re checking on the answer for you. So as soon as we have it we’ll answer and approve it.
My Comment Hasn’t Been Approved Yet…What the Heck?
Keep in mind during updates you guys LOVE asking questions and commenting and we LOVE answering them and talking with you….BUT because we’re all in different time zones oftentimes there’s only 1 of us in the comments at a time, so it may take a little while before we can get through them all…depending on what else is going on. Interistingly, my number 1 tasks reset at 7 AM local time, which is very convenient, so I can run the final task over night. 🙂 [I’ve not tampered with my devices time zone, in case that’s what you’re gonna suspect – it just randomly switched to the new reset time at some point.]
I can’t really figure out the right time for spying on my neighbors to have that 60 emblems. By trial and error did it for few days and… losing precious emblems How can I find out my 24 hour period?? I am in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Thank you.
Your 24 hours is set by the first neighbor you visit. If you look at your neighbor with the lowest countdown, that will be when your timer will reset. You then have the choice to wait to set your time to whatever suits you best.

Soo last I commented that my emblem timer will reset at midnight although I was currently in the last task for the 400 emblem chest. Approximately 2 hours remain on the timer but 3 hours left in the task. After midnight it reset but the task continued and when the task was complete it rolled over into today’s task giving me an early start from the beginning for 150 emblems. I missed out on 400 but I am also grateful for the 150! Lol Thanks for reading…

Glad you shared this! I also started a 400 emblem task before midnight that was due to end after midnight, and I was only rewarded with 150 tokens the next day. For some reason, I was under the impression that any daily task started before midnight would be awarded with the original emblem amount, even if it finished the next day. But it sounds like the task must be started AND completed before midnight to receive the task’s original amount. Lesson learned!

Any verification on the calendar you guys posted for Number 1’s tasks? It appeared to be correct for the first few days but now clearly does not reflect the tasks I am being given. In fact, my wife and I had two different sets of tasks (the times being different, obviously the actions always/often differ) for yesterday. I had a 1hr-2hr-4hr-1hr and she had 6-hr-1hr-4hr-1hr. Is anyone else noticing the calendar to be off or I am losing my mind and misreading it? I really want to know so that I can decide whether to consult the calendar at all when planning the next or current days’ tasks/timing.

It is still exact same as the day I made it in the files. I think the things throwing it off are first…it is on GMT but no ones is running on GMT, instead it is running on YOUR midnight in YOUR time zone. This is causing overlaps of days and times. Second, some are not completing tasks in the 24 hours and causing a task to roll onto the next day instead, this is also causing a weird glitch in them. My best suggestion is to just try to stick to what your game is telling you. Many players games are still following the calendar, it is just some that are not. The rest of the information will still help you to locate the groups for a task and the characters in those groups. 😉
Thanks bunny, that was sort of what I had suspected. The calendar has been mostly correct for me (I’ve finished all tasks except one though) and has had more errors for my wife (who has missed a few of number 1s tasks).
I have an unrelated question, more about friends lists. I’ve noticed for the past few nights the emblem timer on my friends actions restarted at 11pm est. the night before last I was too tired to start the list at 11 so I waited until yesterday morning. Last night I noticed my timer did not restart at 11 and still hasn’t yet. Is it waiting until whatever time I started yesterday morning (because that would have been my first action since the timer restarted the previos night)?
Since you waited, your timer would have started with your first action in the AM. It’s based on your friend visiting, not a specific clock.
Although true (and it sucks), it does count as your first task of the next day (hence the 150 emblems and task completed). This can help if the next day has 16+ hrs of tasks but I wouldn’t plan it this way unless I knew I couldn’t complete a days tasks before midnight.
On a related note I’ve seen errors in the Number 1 calendar on here. My wife and I both play and most of the time we are assigned different tasks (dif characters and actions) but with the same time constraints. Yesterday, however, I was given 1hr-2hr-4hr-1hr but my wife got 6hr-1hr-4hr-1hr. As such, hers was a lot harder to complete by midnight. Is anyone else noticing the calendar appears off?
It’s on for me, but sometimes (depending on when you start it and where you are) it can be off by time. That 6hr might be a carry over from the previous day.

It seems the donuts are still in play for those maxed on FP…however, I am noticing that they are sneaky for a lot too. No donut visually popping out for everyone…but noticed only be seeing an increase of 1 or more donuts to the donut counts.
ok so #1’s task only give emblems no other prize… correct? also I feel like I had 3996 almost Krusty skin and I tapped a robber excited for the 4 emblems only to see my total read 3700. I could have miss read it earlier but I’m pretty sure I was that close. anyone else lose 300 emblems?
I have not, but keep a close eye on it. If they go missing…contact EA right away. Take Screenshots if you can too.
I’m doing the scroll riddle challenge things and have done four, but the scroll has disappeared from my tasks in the bottom left! Where is it? I can’t find the scroll riddles!!

Can anyone confirm that #1 tasks must be COMPLETED and not just started (even mostly completed) by midnight? I ask because today’s tasks (for me) consisted of three 4 hr tasks and one 6 hr task. I woke up at 6:15AM and started the first right away. I was about ten minutes late starting the third and half an hour late starting the fourth and now I won’t be done until 1 AM. That’s 18 hours of tasks. Assuming a mere 6 hrs sleep I have no room for error (keeping in mind I rarely stay awake until midnight). Are they favoring fans/addicts of the game or people who stay up late (or don’t live on the east coast)?
Unfortunately they have to be completed. I’m in the same boat as you with my last 6 hour task. There are different times every day so completely possible to still get 4 on other days. I wouldn’t disrupt your natural sleeping… I know I certainly don’t intend to. Completing 3 tasks a day still adds up to a bunch of emblems (16,800 for 28 days).
I really want the nighthawk diner as I have always been a big fan of the man who painted the original Edward Hopper, so hope they bring it back

I know you wrote that the robed figures spawn every hour but the first spawns in about 10 to 15 minutes at least thats what hapens in my town.I stayed in my town for a longer period this morning and after I cleared my six robed figures I taped on at least 3 in about 45 minutes period.so it seems that if you stay indefinitely in your town you could tap on more if them(if you would whant to do that I mean :-).what do you think?
The clock doesn’t reset when you tap the 6th one. The clock is constantly going, if there’s no room for them in your town (ie you have 6) it’ll stall and just sit and wait. As soon as you clear 1 another will appear shortly after. So when you see the 10-15 min span it could just be when it’s resetting quicker.

I’m not receiving my emblems after tapping on the cameras on other friends Springfields. Why? Is there a reason why it says I will receive 0 emblems for my next few actions?

You are limited on your neighbor visits. Like with Friend points, valentines, christmas, etc. This event you only get 60 chances to tap Emblems when your neighbor visiting rolls that new 24 hour mark…so if you used it up already BEFORE you started the Spy questline…you will have to wait. Be careful…that is 60 taps TOTAL…so ANY tap counts…don’t waste them on $, spray cans, or menus…save them for Emblems only.

Hi, I’ve gotten to Game of Stones pt 3 where it says to ‘Collect from 5 Houses’ but none of my neighbours are showing that they are participating in the event, not even Other Springfield. How would I get my Springfield to show up the symbols above the houses? Thanks!
It means 5 of YOUR houses in your Springfield. So just go to Simpsons, Flanders, Wiggums….etc. 😉

I don’t know it’s hard to say. I honestly doubt it, because it was an episode tie-in related to Season 24, so I don’t think it’ll come back….BUT you never know. It could be something they bring back around Halloween or something
OK I have a question about the parchment daily quests. I was looking at your calender and noticed I don’t have the last 3 characters. I know some of my friends don’t have all the characters yet either. Is the only way to finish quests by spending donuts if you don’t have the characters?

Yes I haven’t gotten far enough yet. I’ve only been playing since St Pats day. I’m level 39 but I’ve only unlocked up to Lenny and Carl and the Buddhist temple so far.
I see. Well you have almost a months time left to keep going. Some of those level unlocks, you can have multiple going at once. Just keep an eye on the walkthroughs to see where you are. You are not too far from unlocking the 3 of them.

Wait…do not lose pink sprinklies…these are at the end…so you got time. Just look at the walkthroughs I sent you and see if you can keep them going alongside the tasks for this event and unlock them. Hold off as long as you can before rushing anything.

I know that wasn’t a question and totally counts as a non sequitur in accordance to this article, but damn it had to be said.
Hi all, I have a couple of quick questions for my favourite tsto site and people: I’ve noticed some of my neighbours that have screen names in the back half of the alphabet modify their names so that they are now in the “a’s” (ex: ‘wwww’ is now ‘awwww’ or ‘zzzzzz’ is now ‘azzzzz’).
Will this help collect more emblems? And how does one change their screen name without losing progress? Thanks for any info Alissa, Bunny and Wookiee! So appreciate all the content and community at this site! Hope everyone is enjoying their day 🙂

Some folks think that after their neighbors aren’t able to earn emblems while visiting that they’ll stop i.e. IDs in the w-z’s won’t get visited. This is probably the reason for the name change. I visit every one of my neighbors but it’s because I know I’m helping them and they’ll return the favor. TO change your ID, you have to do it in the origin software. I’ve changed my name several times.

I shall not change my name! But I can see how people will stop hitting on neighbors for a lesser prize especially at higher levels. If you have all your FPs and cash – why go through 100 friends?

Because you are helping them and in return I hope they help you. You can earn a LOT of emblems by them spying on you and vice versa. So keep tapping to the end.
I actually usually start at z and then go up, it’s easier to hit the back but for for me in quick succession than the forward one. But I always visit all my friends anyways. (Going for that free premium currency ^_^)
I bounce around. One day from a…next from middle…next from z back. Makes it fun to shake it up a bit.

so, i’m a little bit behind on this event as i’ve been trying to get assignments and exams done without too many distractions (sort of successfully), but i’m trying to see Number 1’s tasks for today and it wont come up? I tap him, it flashes on the screen briefly then is gone. Everyone except Maude and Brockman are on tasks right now, could that be why? Has anyone else has this?

In the meantime try this…look on the calendar I made to see the time frames for the tasks (they go in order 1 to 4 for the day), then using that…go to the tasks list I have below and then you can just locate the characters on those tasks and see who has one of those random task in there lists to send them.
For instance, today is 1 hr/ 2hr/ 2hr/ 4hr…so find the tasks in those brackets and see if your character can be sent without tapping on Number 1.
Let me know if that works.
