Anyway enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? No it’s not time to let Bunny out of the basement! (we do that enough around here…) Nope it’s time for another Sunday Night Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Sunday Night Open Thread. TSTO is in a bit of a lull these days. Gil made another appearance (after a bit of a glitch), will YOU be taking his deal? Have you taken it already? Some rumors flying around about the next TSTO update….what do YOU think it will be? Every. Episode. Ever. starts THIS week…will you be watching the Simpsons marathon? Sunday night baseball features the Athletics and Braves. Preseason football is on tonight as well…Chiefs vs. Panthers, will you be checking that game out?

Love the game – just wondering if anyone is having trouble adding friends. I know there are a few bug fixes, I am playing around them. Still enjoying the game – all the best for a wonderful New Years everyone, lol

Remember to enjoy your time….have fun, BUT don’t forget to study. It can very easily spiral out of control if you’re not careful. You’ll have to find that right balance of fun and school. BUT in the end you’ll more than likely make friends that will last you for the rest of your life 🙂 Good Luck!
Hey, general Krsutyland question.
I currently have a 5-star Krustyland, but I haven’t bought and built upon all the land yet. If I buy more land and maintain a 5-star Krustyland, would I get more generic visitors (i.e., tickets) to the park?
I only ask because at this point, I only visit Krustyland to tap to get to 30,000 tickets to cash in for $100K Springfield dollars, and want to know if expanding helps me get to that occasional $100K faster.

You have the same number of visitors regardless of how big your KL is.
So, I went ahead and bought Gil’s deal. At the time, I had 190 donuts, so after spending the 70, I had 120 left when I realized something that might be helpful for the average freemium player whose been saving donuts like myself. All of the internet sites and “should I spend donuts on” forums identify the School Bus and Otto combo which is usually 120 donuts as the cheapest building/character combo. While that’s true, that doesn’t mean you can’t make your own for the same price. With the remaining 120 donuts I had, I bought the Fireworks, Candy and Puppies building (60) and Bumblebee Man (60) making my own little income generating building plus 150% collection character combo for the same price as the School Bus/Otto combo is normally! Not only that, but the collection on the FC&P building is actually a little better than most other premium buildings, so for 120 donuts, you can make yourself a nice little combo of the FC&P building and your choice of any 150% earning 60 donut premium character: Bumblebee Man, Kearney or Hans Moleman.
Nice… now that’s bargain shopping the premium way lol.
It is Monday night in Oy-stray-ya, and it is the one-week-versary of the day I lost my job–well I still have it for now but my workplace lost their contract so the job might last a month or more longer, or might fall over with no warning–and all I could think of was thank goodness I’d bought the dumpster donuts the night before because I’d never have bought pretend baked goods if I’d known that was going to happen. Whether I find another job soon or not, as my bank balance starts to dive, I will still feel rich in virtual currency, sprinkled with pixels, as I tap tap tap away with the fairies or at least a horde of tiny little yellow people living in my iPad. A moderate quantity of donuts (first ones I ever bought) was how I celebrated the fact that I had regular pay packets coming in, and now only a few months later those dumster donuts wil be my last for a while. If only jobs lasted longer I might be able to spend some real money on real life. Til then TSTO, my donuts, and this website will keep me cheerful as I keep looking for a new job. Is this game still active? Ive been so bored with No new content, Ive assumed theyve stopped?
No, it’s still active. Despite no new content for long time players, they are still updating it weekly.
One of my neighbors must have just started ‘cheating’ in the game. Tonight I started to see items in their town that were only available before they had started playing. To each their own, but I think it takes away from the challenge and fun. You’re no longer working towards achievements if you get everything instantaneously. I rather play within the parameters designed for the game. It may be frustrating at times, but I feel it is all part of the experience.
Totally agree, I am resorting to unfriending people on my origin who I suspect are hackers.
I am still considering how I will handle it. This is the only friend that I strongly suspect doing it (I only have about a dozen or so in-game friends currently). It’s possible that there are one or two others, but since they had been playing before me, it’s hard to know if they got what they have now by playing on the level or cheating.
Any chance that they started sooner than you thought, and EA just (finally) resolved a long-running ticket of some kind?
As for me, I had most of my Easter 2014 stuff in storage — intending to leave it there until next Easter — but just placed some in KL when that ability was recently opened up. To someone who hadn’t seen any of that stuff in my game before, that could have looked like che@ting!
I’ve had the same issue. When i’m short I space I throw stuff in inventory, and some of it has been in there FOREVER lol.
That’s a good point. Though since I saw this person climbing through the lower levels after me and now has reached 43, I don’t believe it is something they had previously. Unless there’s an option to restart the game from the beginning again while keeping what you have already earned. If so, then it’s a possibility. Perhaps I shouldn’t be so quick to rush to judgment? I don’t know.
Just need to get it out there, if I don’t get Cookie Kwan and Lindsay Naegle in the next update, I will have a tantrum of sorts.

An I did notice yours was recently changed. Gas woolies always been the cartoon pic? I seem to remember a him having a different one before. Bunny’s joke on the weekend update reminds me of one of my favorite guy walks into a bar joke. Two guys are walking down the street. One walks into a bar… the other one ducks!
Aside from some continuing laptop battery issues, it has been a pretty okay week. I’ve continued to neglect my town redesign for the Comic Con related event in that other thing that we don’t speak of here : P
I started running to get ready for… a thing… And I was feeling super motivated to work on some artwork… until the battery fell out of my laptop.
I started watching the Q&A video… but got distracted by the previously mentioned laptop battery. It’s cool to put voices to the faces, and so far it has been entertaining to watch the banter between the three of you.

Morning!! Quick post before I go to work 😞. At least it’s only a few hours today but it is technically my day off. Can’t wait for an update, getting a little bit lazy with my game at the moment. Already got Otto and his bus so no Gil deal for me.
Happy Sunday! Is there a method to the madness of tapping? I’ve been reading some posts and it sounds like you should wait for a handshake before collecting money. Is this true? I’ve been playing since December 2013 and never heard this before. Any answers appreciated!!
The main reason is if you constantly clear EVERYTHING…what is left for a neighbor to tap? Only vandalism. Especially if you are maxed on 100 friends. That is 300 taps needed. So if you only leave one or two buildings open…they can’t benefit from visiting, nor you. Make sense?
I try to only clear money off buildings that regenerate fast. Leave others for neighbors. Then…if not cleared after about 5 or 6 hours…then I may clear more.
I know this is weird, but it seems to happen more times than not for me. I could be away from the game for hours… Let’s say, six hours or more (I have to sleep sometime) and in that time none of my neighbors had come to visit. So I go in and start tapping everything out. It seems just about when I am almost done or immediately after I am done, I have visitors and then I feel bad because I already tapped everything out. If I deliberately leave buildings with rent to collect, no one comes and I eventually have to do it myself. Yet other times, I will have a lot of high item rents available to collect and I’ll have visitors and they will skip over those estates and tap some brown houses, the Simpson house, or vandelize (or all of the above). They obviously are not regulars here to this site or they would know better.
Anyway, it can be a little frustrating, but I try not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Besides, now I have enough of those ‘training walls’ hidden my town that I don’t seem to be affected any more by vandalism, but they do love going after that school building especially (I suspect it’s pent up anger from childhood towards school).
LOL Louis. I’ve had that same thing happen — away from my game for about 24 hours and came back to zero handshakes — then, while clearing $ from buildings, handshakes started showed up on a few of the buildings I hadn’t gotten to yet.
I have a small number of buildings I leave untapped during active play, but I’ve learned to clear them once a day because otherwise they never seem to get tapped. I suspect that some handshakes just aren’t showing up sometimes, and the game doesn’t show other players that those buildings are available to tap.
After being at a baseball game in the direct sunlight and burning my face, it felt amazing to get home in the AC, put on some cooling burn gel, and getting on Tapped Out. Am really looking forward to this mysterious update. Hope it is worth all the hype 🙂
I just got to thinking an realized with all the updating you guys do an it being this sites one year anniversary that maybe its time you guys updated your profile pics we all see here on the site when you post post. Then I thought about picture day when I used to be in school. Does my hair look good? Or hows my shirt? Lol scary memories
I have changed my pic several times over the course of the last year. So…they do get updated more than most. 😉
Took me son to a Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox AA team) game last night. It was Star Wars night and was awesome. The Dogs won it in the 10th.
Finally decided and went for the GIl deal. Realized I would regret it too much not to go for it. Barney will still be there.
Managed to fix that weird error I have been having with the Kwik E Mart. Turned out that I did not have one click shopping turned on with Amazon. That made it impossible for the game to connect to their servers to process any payments.

Actually, I would currently care more about a non-crashing game rather than a content update. Having to restart 3 to 5 times just for a single collect-and-assign round sucks. Big time.
So….is anyone else back on level 1 tonight? No matter what I do, it takes me to level one! Sure, when I am logging in, it says I am on level 43, but when it starts, it’s back to Homer blowing up Springfield!
Forget contacting EA for help! I am STILL waiting for the golden scratch card I PAID for TWO MONTHS ago!
This game has become more frustrating than fun these past couple of months. If it wasn’t for the fact that I have paid real money to play it, I would have given up long ago

Sorry you are having such troubles. So you already tried a complete uninstall/reinstall. Tap through the level 1 til it unlocks the “neighbor” screens and try to log in again?

I had the same issue with the Golden Scratch-R about a month ago. On the EA support site there should be an option for a live chat after you report what your issue is. You may have to wait a while to get through but they are very helpful. I was able to get my golden scratcher back, 20 doughnuts that went missing in my game, and missing items that glitched out on me. Give it a try but be patience. I hope it works out for you the way it worked out for me 🙂

Happy Sunday fellow addicts! I too am looking forward to an update but I’m torn. I’ve been working so hard towards the Sit N Rotate. Currently I have $8361539. If I hit the ten mil before the update I’ll have no money left in the bank. If not then I’ll have to wait longer for the SNR. Dilemmas!

The good news is that the Sit ‘n’ Spin is not an limited time item. So once you reach $10M, you may want to keep adding to your bankroll before making the purchase so when do, you have a “cushion” of money still in the bank to use in case there’s a new update sprung on us. I’m slowly working towards it as well. Though I’m not engaged in diehard fundraising to get there. I’m around $4.5M now. I’ll get there when I get there. When I do, I may wait until I have $11M or $12M before making the purchase.
Maybe in celebration of EVERY SIMPSON’S EPISODE EVERY,
TSTO will offer us EVERY LIMITED TIME ITEM, EVER!

Well then that makes me addicted. I have 3 towns too. Haha
I have 10 towns! I must confess this was because it took me a while to take the plunge of inviting strangers into my town, so I created my own ‘friends’ to visit me. Boy, that has hard work. Eventually took the plunge and now have 100 lovely neighbors. Admittedly 9 of them are still me! Still, it came in handy during the Easter event as it meant I could ‘donate’ all the eggs from my friend towns into my A game.
Anyone else get the new update for locating characters? It’s for town hall, you click the building and it gives you the option to go to a list of all your characters and it will take you to where they are.
I assume it’s new at least. I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about not having a character locator, so I assumed this was something new.

Finally hit one million after about five months of playing :D. Last log in my bank roll was 1,049,585.took forever, but they say the first million is always the hardest ;). Really, really hoping an update hits soon.

Did you guys here anything about what the update was suppose to be before they threw this gil deal our way? Maybe a summer school contest. How about a Simpson’s trivia mini quest. All the episodes will be replayed so they can include donuts for correct answers. Something like they did for the Halloween update. Is it perfect no, but I don’t see you EA doing anything. And thats what grinds my gears. Addicts?
Not sure what’s up. The Gil deal seems very rushed though…so I think something is in the works it’s just not ready yet. We’ll have to see what hits this week 🙂
