I’ve been noticing a few questions popping up in the comments of some posts and, while we try to answer each one individually, I thought everyone could benefit from the answers to these questions. So it’s time for another addition of Addicts Question Corner….
How Often to Rigellians Spawn?
These little buggers actually spawn at a pretty decent rate. They appear in your town at a rate of 1 every 5 minutes.
What’s the Max About of Rigellians I Can Have in My Town At Once?
Max is 50 at one time.
Is there a Rigellian Bank, Where It’ll Hold Extras If I Don’t Clear Them In Time?
Yes. The bank holds 30. So overall you can have 80 Rigellians at one time. Although only 50 will appear in your town at once. Once you clear 1 of those 50 a new one will appear from the bank.
What Can’t I Complete the Trick Or Treat Task?
This is the LAST quest in the first phase of Halloween. Think of it as “busy work”, having you do what you’re already supposed to do (collect treat bags) while you wait for the next phase of the event to start (on the 2oth). So once you complete the tasks at hand, send 10 kids to Trick or Treat and open 10 Treat Bags, a new one of the exact same quest will appear. You’re not losing your mind…well some of you aren’t 😉 ….it’s how it’s supposed to work. Don’t worry, you’re not missing ANYTHING. There’s no more questline after this task…not until phase 2 starts on the 12th 🙂
All My Ammo Disappeared When Trying to Shoot Down a UFO in my Neighbor’s Town.
This is a glitch, but a good glitch. It’s only supposed to take 1 ammo shot to shoot down a UFO in a neighbor’s town. So if it’s taking more than 1 it’s a glitch and that’s not supposed to happen. If you want your Ammo refunded contact EA and let them know, at the very least they can refund your lost Ammo.
HOWEVER….this is a good glitch so you might not want to report it. Many of you are reporting that even though there’s no UFO, when it takes your Ammo it’s thinking there’s more UFOs in the town…thus giving you the UFO prizes for shooting them down. Which is awesome, since the UFO prizes can range from treat bags to donuts!
What Does Leveling Up the Nail Board Do?
I know at first glance it may seem completely useless….BUT there is an advantage to doing it. Leveling up the Nail Board increases the radius of your tap when you squish Aliens in your town. The higher the level the larger radius you’ll have and the larger the radius the more aliens you can squish in 1 tap.
Can You Still Get Donuts From Visiting Friends if You’ve Maxed Out Your FP?
Yes. There’s still a chance to earn donuts from friend actions after you’ve maxed out your FPs.
Do I Need to Leave Buildings for Neighbors To Tap? How About Aliens?
No. Tap anything and everything in your town that you want to tap. (Houses, Buildings, Aliens, Grem-Aliens) There will still be aliens for your neighbors to tap in your town even after you’ve cleared them.
Where’s the Rigellian Shrub and Queen?
They’re not in the game yet to craft. Remember this will be released in phases…so they’re not part of phase 1. However, you can earn the shrub in a treat bag, there’s a small chance for it.
When Will Other Items From Halloween Past Appear?
Currently they’re no in the game. EA is doing this event in phases…so they may appear in a future..but as for now they’re not in the game. You can look everywhere, you won’t find them. 🙂
If I Craft An Item, Will the Items Used to Craft It Disappear?
Yes, once you craft an item the number of whatever item was required to craft it will disappear. So craft wisely! (And yes, you may want to hold off on the Spooky Walls..since it’s just 1 piece of wall (like a castle wall). Also, you can win them in treat bags 😉 )
Do I Need To Craft Items in Order Or Can I Skip One & Save Up?
No, this is a create your own adventure type of play. When it comes to crafting you do not have to do so in order, you can jump around all you want. So I would suggest saving up those precious items for the more coveted items to craft… 🙂
Why Is My Question/Comment Still In Moderation?
We LOVE you guys…you’re seriously AWESOME and we love helping you all we can! However, keep in mind that during events like this the comments can go crazy! (just take a look at our main Halloween is here post…that has over 1,500 comments and counting) So it can take us a little while to get back to you (plus..we are human, we do sleep & eat & have lives…sorta 😉 )….but that doesn’t mean we won’t. It just means give us a little bit of time and we’ll get your question answered.
Oh…and don’t panic if you see other comments after yours get approved. Sometimes they’re just Friend requests…or something simple that we can push right away…doesn’t mean we love you any less 😉

Why Can’t Witch Marge Trick Or Treat?
It seems there is some confusion in characters so I am adding this lil bit to the post. There are TWO skins that Marge has that seem to be throwing players off. So I wanted to post the info and images here to help.
This is WITCH Marge. You only got her from previous Halloween events after buying the Cauldron with donuts. WITCH Marge goes trick or treating.
This is WIZARD Marge. You got her from the Clash of Clones event and she can NOT trick or treat.
I hope this helped to clear up that bit of confusion on Marge’s skins for the event. 😉

Will the gremalien eggs exist as is in next phase and drop the 2nd currency?
Since I’ve finished with the probes I figured I would save the eggs, ammo & bags to kick off the 2nd phase if they all let me get those instead.
Until the next phase goes live, we can’t know for sure. Once it goes live we will be able to test it out.
Then it’s too late 😜
But have you seen anything in the files that drop 2nd currency that could be similar to eggs?
It is hard to guage. That is why I say we have to see it live. Also, they may change something or add something between now and then.
In addition to the normal “tap on them and the die” germ-aliens, I seem to get two other species invading my town from time to time — the “tap on me all you want as I run around your town, but I’m going to just ignore you” ones and the ones who, when you tap on them they become paralyzed but don’t die (so no probes and no indication of who sent them). Is anyone else seeing these two undesirable species variations? Any idea how to successfully kill them?
We have. It seems exiting out of your town and returning does the trick. Like hop over to a neighbor or Krustyland and back. Let the game sync.
I’ve seen those, but I have another to add. It only happens with the little ones, not neighbors’ eggs. When I click on the little green guys, they will stop, open their eye wide and look like they are laughing at me, but not squish. It’s like when you’ve clicked more than three at your neighbor’s town, only this happens in my own town. If I reload they squish properly, but if I stay in the game and in my town, the little green things just laugh at me no matter how much I click on them. Anybody else have the small greenies do that to them? It happens most often when I haven’t been in the game for a few hours.
Uh huh. It is like the bigger weapon I get…some just get “stunned” and run off. Like the squish didn’t phase it. So I go in n out of my town, come back…able to get em. 😉
Same goes for Grem Aliens. They get “stunned” and I got to resync my game.

I’m new-ish, I downloaded this fabulously life-sucking game about a month before Clash of Clones was released, so I missed the Halloween event last year. Is there any way for us noobs to get Witch Marge so we can send her trick or treating?
Or did I completely miss the boat and she is available now and I just can’t find her new skin in the shop?

She’s not currently in the game…but I believe she’ll be making a comeback, just don’t know when.

This guide has been awesome. 🙂 my question probably is unanswerable at the moment. But are Hugo and the Grand pumpkin sticking around for the whole event, because saving for them is taking ages.
Also. 2 rigellian shrubs so far. And 4 doughnuts. 🙂
They should be. We see no timers/indication they’ll be gone before the event ends. However, we won’t know for sure until the 20th hits…
I just sent Jimbo out Trick or treating and his task time has jumped to 18 hrs. WTF ??????

Mine’s at 16hrs. I don’t know what’s up with your game. But it’s 16hrs in 3 of my games. I would contact EA if it continues
Jimbo,Shauna,kearney,Uter, Sherri and Terri and Squeaky Voiced Teen all at 16hrs. Everyone else at 8hrs.
It has always been that way. Just verified the files. They have not changed.

I haven’t gotten any probes from squishing aliens in my friend’s towns for a full day now. I understand the limit is 90 probes per 24hours. Is this a known glitch?
First I’m hearing of anyone not getting them after a full day. Try to wait a full 24hrs before tapping any of them in a neighbors town…so all your clocks reset back to 0. Then try again. If you’re still not seeing Probes contact EA and let them know what’s going on.
Ok I am curious what it says you can have 80 aliens or rigelliens in youre town or whatever at a time.
I am no mathamatition but im pretty sure as it states 1 spawns every 5 minutes about.
So 7 hours time should be enough time for atleast 80 to spawn.
Yet I only counted 54 n no bank of 30 others
Either my math is wrong or these people are wrong is like to know what is going on. Either way I’d check in 4 he intervals just to make sure I get everything.

Also if anyone is curious you can indeed get experemntal specimens from treat bags. As I got one yesterday.

The bank is if the game sits a while. If you are in it constantly…then you are getting all the aliens and there is no need for any to store away as you got them already. If you are gone a while and come back, give the game a lil time to realize you just used up all the ones in there and it can release any that were stored. It takes a few minutes sometimes to do this and it is a subtle release. Not a mass all at once.
what do I get for keeping leveling up the wood and nail weapon?

It just expands your radius for squishing aliens. Explained in more detail in the post above 🙂
Sorry if you answered this already…but say I’m still saving up to get Hugo and the probe phase ends…does that mean I’ll lose the ability to craft him?
Hugo is separate from the probe prizes. You’re good to go.

I’ve seen people saying that the probes from grem aliens are not counting. And I think, do they really help? I’m with almost 5000 probes and only about 100 came from grems, they really give us few probes or am i doing something wrong?
It all depends on how people play and earn them.
Can you elaborate on that comment, Bunny? I want to make sure I’m maximizing my chances to get prizes, etc.!
There is so many variables. If you buy items to help earn ammo to get MORE probes from UFO’s. If you spend donuts to get the license to up your payout on probes. If you max the 90 first visits each day. If your neighbors give you lots of Grem Aliens. If you are tapping the most amounts of Rigellian Aliens daily you can. If you send out lots of kids to get treat bags. If you have all the kids. On n on n on n on. It is all in how YOU play the game and what YOUR results will be. A lot of options round every corner.
The task that has the youngsters go trick or treating says #/10. However, I have had them go more than 10 times and it is not giving me a new task. It also will say I have completed 4 or 7 out of 10. Is this a glitch?

Does anyone else have the glitch where you’re a rigellian attached to a character’s head (in my case, Krusty’s) and it keeps reappearing and you can’t assign a new character action?
Try to tap it using town hall. If that dont work…take the character out of the game and return them. So Store and Replace KrustyBurger.
My daily probs for squishing aliens in a friend’s town are taking longer than 24 hrs to reset. Is this a known issue or just me?

It will depend on when you tap that town first. If there is a timer issue, report it to EA
I’m sure a lot of you have already noticed or had this happen but I figure for those asking about crafting items, I would hold out on the human test subject because you can get them randomly from trick or treat bags.. I got 2 already, I’m not sure what the rate or percentage is (bunny or wookie probably know more on that)
I’m just wondering how many probes can you get from visiting friends? I’m squishing aliens, but not getting probes anymore.
You’re limited to 90 actions every 24 hrs so basically 30 neighbors. Normal play gains you 90 probes… with the Rigellian Hunting License, it doubles to 180.
Do you need to be a certain level for the “Rigellian Bank” to work? Just checked my game after 6 hours and I had 50 Rigellians. Tapped them all and checked back 10 minutes later and only had another 2…not the other 22(ish) that should have come from the bank.
It should not matter what level you are at. it’s possible your bank was depleted as you squished. I haven’t counted while killing my invaders but I suspect one is replaced automatically for each one you knock out. That would make sense for you to only see two.

I know I can spend the donuts on Halloween specific items; however, the bags are critical! I also recognized that by buying the twins and two of the bully characters, I now can gain more treat bags plus have characters to boot.

Hi TSTO Addicts team, Thanks so much for all the fantastic information, as always! I don’t know if I’m experiencing a glitch or not understanding the update properly. I know RIgellians are supposed to spawn 1 every 5 minutes but when I play after waking up (yes I am that addicted) I have maybe maximum 3 in my town. Shouldn’t there be loads of the squishies after not playing for 8-9 hours? Thanks for your help!
Wait a minute to let them “collect” they are lil and will go ANYWHERE. Behind buildings, in shrubs, hidden in corners. Give them a lil bit to start to go to where you are in the game. So stop on an area and wait. See if they come to you. Then…exit in n out of your town, like go to Krustyland and back. See if that helps kick them in.
How do I start The Good Son quest?
It starts after you craft Hugo.
So let me get this right. If I craft a spooky wall, it means that the time I have to craft Hugo or a pumpkin house or something is set back ?
Correct. I’d abstain from those and the human test subject. Concentrate on the big prizes.

Thank you so much for this post about the trick-or-treating quest! I really was going crazy (although many friends might say that ship has already sailed 😸). I thought I was stuck in the “Send 10 kids/open bags” loop, as I thought I read somewhere that after three cycles, the Kang/Homer 36-hr. task would open. But, just to clarify, we are trick-or-treating until 10/20, before any other Kang quests will open?
Also, is there a post on the point system for the “friends leaderboard?” Is this just based on probes, or a combination of things? I can’t seem to figure it out.

What am I doing wrong? I am a strictly premium player, but I play multiple times a day (three days a week, I’m playing almost constantly, since I’m stuck in bed with a temporary disability, and I only work 20 hours a week, four days a week right now). With the CoC event, I had earned all of the prizes fairly early on. However, with this event, it looks doubtful I’ll even come close to earning the 8,000+ prize (the donut thingy) before the probes phase is over.
I’ve currently earned about 2,600 probes, despite the fact that I have a full boat of neighbors (so I’m earning all 90 probes from them a day). So, what am I doing wrong? How can I up my odds of earning all of the probe prizes before time runs out, without spending any real money? I don’t have enough donuts to buy a ray gun (and I’m not sure I’d spend 150 hard-earned donuts on a limited-use item anyway).
I’d be very thankful for any tips!

How many probes are needed for all the treehouse of horror XXV prizes? I can’t find Bunny’s calendar of how many probes I should have at the end of each day to get all the prizes.

Wow.. So unless I’m missing some magical way to get probes.. almost impossible for anyone with a full time job…
Figure even if your able to check your town twice 7 hours apart, that’s 480 (my town is way to big to get every one anyway) + 90 from your neighbors… Still gonna come up short.
Am I missing something besides the minute amount from treat bags or the odd amount from a saucer?
Watch your counts. There is a glitch with the probes adding for some players.

The items I have to craft are they only available during the fist phase ie will change. Or do I have to whole event to collect these?
They will be available to the end. Phase II will bring over new stuff and also transfer in any probe prizes you weren’t able to get. No rush at present. Happy tapping!
Ok, loving the Halloween special but how do I upgrade my wacking devise when I have no nails. There doesn’t seem to be any nails coming from treat bags. Am I supposed to be just using donuts to buy or is there something else that I should be doing?
They’ll be awarded in treat bags…but they are random so some may earn them faster than others. There’s no real rush to do it 🙂

Each upgrade increases the radius of your sky finger. I set personal goals to see how many Rigellian babies I can squish at one go. I’ve gotten 5 in one squish and aiming for more. Also, the nails only work for it so why not?
